Doesn't seem like there'll be another cosplay kit until they start revealing more companions. Maybe it was always the plan to do the characters we know about first (Vivienne, Varric, Cass and Morrigan) then wait until they talk about other party members before doing the rest.

 

Which is a shame, because that would be at least a month away.

If we get one a month, that would mean the last one would be in late November - won't the game be out by then? Or maybe they'll release the last one a few weeks earlier to get it out before the game is launched? (Though, not long before, if they're still going for Fall.) Unless they're skipping Cassandra and Varric, of course...

We won't get to everyone before launch, but we'll get to them all eventually.

There's no reason to mark December off the calendar of potentiality re: release dates. Fans just like to collectively do so because it means we can pretend it has to be out sooner.

It's still Fall 2014 until two-thirds of the way into December.

THAT SAID, word-of-mouth from BioWare just now sure makes it sound like November is a hell of a lot likelier than generic date-math insists.

If you can somehow convince BioWare as such you may successfully get the game in our hands in October. They're up in Edmonton, Canada so it shouldn't be hard.

It's hot as hell down here today and it generally has been for weeks so we only really get summer and fall.

I'm sure they haven't literally planned out every month - EA might not even know the release date yet, except that it has to fall in that particular financial quarter.

 

I imagine there's no real need to go over Varric and Cassandra again, for example, given that one character was a party member in DA2 and the other has a whole anime movie about her.

I think EP hit on a really important easily-forgettable chord just now: there's a very real possibility nothing is internally concrete as-yet with regard to a release date, just a window. A common occurrence. It's important that we don't get carried away playing Sherlock as though it's all one big Puzzle Theory. That path leads to perennial disillusion.

Man, they are really dragging this out, huh. They will probably re-release the companions we already know about, and it'll probably be months before we actually get info about new companions, hahah. Maybe they'll pleasantly surprise us with someone new, but somehow I doubt it.

Doesn't anyone think Vega and Varric might get along quite well? Vega would also get along well with Isabela... maybe even too well (especially if I'm trapped with the two of them).

There's the DLC companion **coughCOLEcough** to consider so the game could easily be tentatively planned for a November release without revealing every companion.

After release I really want a video of Morgan Freeman explaining the plot to me, I always feel safe and secure when he explains plots to me  but yeah as soon as pre-orders I am gonna jump right on it, hoping if there is a CE that it doesn't tempt me, I want to keep some of my monies

I'm fairly sure when they say autumn, they mean it basically has to be in autumn. Releasing it earlier (even if it sells more) doesn't do any good if EA was relying on Inquisition to make it a truckload of money in that specific financial quarter. If I understand crazy North American seasons, 'Fall' starts on September 23 - so I highly doubt we'd see it before then, or later than December 2whatever, if EA stll need DAI to be in that period. 

 

Publishers do shady things with game releases all the time to make the numbers look good at the end of each quarter, because ultimately keeping investors happy with financial results is their priority.
