Maleficent is still the coolest looking Disney Villain. Too bad they have to make a movie where they give an "evil fairy" a tragic backstory.

I'm fairly sure when they say autumn, they mean it basically has to be in autumn. Releasing it earlier (even if it sells more) doesn't do any good if EA was relying on Inquisition to make it a truckload of money in that specific financial quarter. If I understand crazy North American seasons, 'Fall' starts on September 23 - so I highly doubt we'd see it before then, or later than December 2whatever, if EA stll need DAI to be in that period. 

 

Publishers do shady things with game releases all the time to make the numbers look good at the end of each quarter, because ultimately keeping investors happy with financial results is their priority.

Right. And it's very important to have multiple big projects in autumn if... well, if you're EA, really. And the holiday season is autumn, specifically October, November and early-mid December. It all leads up to Christmas and it really kicks into extraordinarily high gear on Black Friday, which is typically toward the end of November. It's a really bad idea not to have whichever studios you have pony something up for all that purchasing within that threshold.

Actually, I'm curious about that movie...it might end up being garbage, but I always love villains more, so the idea of giving one the spotlight isn't lost on me.
