I actually think from the colour scheme, that this is in the Fade, otherwise, Solas has jaundice...
Yeah that looks like one of the Fade portals you find in DAO behind Solas.

Has it been confirmed that the monster is in fact a giant, and not a troll? We know trolls will be in the game and I assumed that this was one, but if it is in fact a giant we still don't know what the trolls will look like, which to me is at least slightly interesting.
The magazine calls them 'Riesen', which is 'giant'.

Sorry for nitpicking all of a sudden, but those destruction effects look really artificial, I hope they randomise it and make the rock fragments more natural looking.
