reshooting an entire scene because 'holy crap that is a pretty sea'.
Also, discovered that 'can't save' was because everything in my editor reset itself, including the 'don't break when saving' button.

That whole kerfuffle actually made me want to give my attempt at Isabela in an Orlesian ball gown another go...
Interesting.
Although it's disappointing that Mae won't be in the game - she was an awesome character in the comics - David is being admirably upfront about the realities of the timeframes, and it's better to let people know now rather than have them fruitlessly hope for another six months or whatever.
(It's interesting to note that character concepting needs to be done so early, actually - I suppose the process from initial ideas to a high-poly game model takes way longer than I imagined)
And I do hope they have other trans characters, and other characters from Tevinter.

Writing is some of the earliest work. It's also why it is often "cut" work, since it's typically cut not because writing is behind, but because the downstream game creation can't properly support what was written (often for technical or time reasons). If we want to have anything more than a token appearance with limited substance, it needs to be earmarked much earlier in the process. Writing her in now would not only create work for the writers, but also localization, cinematics, character art (and probably concept art) and possibly other design elements depending on how she is used.
At this point, it would definitely only be possible at the expense of something else (and perhaps several things) to include Maevaris.

Couldn't we eliminate that elven mage? Because he is bald and dresses in ugly long johns, which makes him an unclean abomination in the eyes of the Maker.
I demand all male followers to be ripped, shirtless and to have shoulder-length hair or I'm pre-emptively cancelling my pre-order. ![]()

Maybe you should visit the pretty boy thread.

Ah, I was initially kind of dissapointed that Mae won't appear, but that explains it quite a bit. Thank you for the clarification!
Thanks for clearing things up for us Allan.
So, we'd better start our "Maevaris for companion in the next dragon age game" campaign right now just to be safe then
I'm hoping that, whatever potential future game will be the one where we get to visit Tevinter (assuming there will be such a game in the series, of course) it will be the game in which she finally appears. (But it definitely can't hurt to start that campaign early on.)

I assure you that, unless it's something I'm already inclined to do, such campaigns would make a character less likely to return and not more.

I do love pretty seas! I mean, as long as there's not a dragon coming out of it, or something.
from game star magazine, if anyone speaks german here can someone translate?

I speak German and it seems like only analysis/speculation based on the trailer and info we got last summer. Nothing new. ^^

Lol! David trying to head off the impending stampede. Aww, that's so cute, but it's not gonna happen. ![]()
You know, it's kinda like when Hawke (or my Hawke at any rate) was trying to stop Kirkwall from imploding w/the mage/templar war. And Hawke thought maybe, just maybe, they had a chance---then Bam! everybody officially lost their collective minds, and did whatever the heck they wanted to do anyway.
It's kinda like that.

But hey, although you won't win, every dev gets a prize for trying. The BSN does have tendency to coddle its devs--tsk--what's the phrase, "Spare the rod, spoil the dev"? or......hmmm.
At any rate, here's your prize for participating today. Who loves you, Baby?!? ![]()

I'm sure you really appreciate the fans that love a character you created enough to actively wish to see more of them, though. Right?

its from summer last year
Cullen confirmed for was-going-to-be-but-no-longer-is-companion. (WGTBBNLIC, as we commonly regard them.)
Quiet, you.
Highlights from today's visiting schoolkids: "What's murder?" "Can I see crime scene pictures?" "You have alcohol on your desk!"
.@jana_pruden Fun fact: @KarinWeekes has a bottle of Writer's Tears on her desk.

Someone should realy register that term before it's taken.

Sure. It's simply not going to sway me one way or the other, even if someone thought their advocacy "worked" (because the character eventually returned...or didn't return, I suppose). If a character returns, it's because the story worked better with them involved, and no other reason. The last time I brought forward a character solely because someone told me to was Oghren in Awakening. Not going to happen again.

@bengelinas @jana_pruden @KarinWeekes she feeds off them. Don't all editors?
@blairkerrbrown @bengelinas @jana_pruden Our writers certainly supply MORE than enough to go around. ![]()

Might reaction to reading was an interpretation of Nelson in the Simpson: Ah ah!
Whenever I need to be super productive, I put on the soundtrack to the Social Network. Apologies if Varric starts to sound too Sorkin-esque.
