I think it's scorpions. We're going to a desert, after all.

 

I am terrified of bees and wasps in real life, but it's a rational fear because I'm allergic. They don't bother me if they can't actually hurt me. (Every year the local agricultural show has a giant glass case with a honeycomb in it and I stand there watching them for ages. Fascinating creatures, when they're not in position to harm me.) Bring on the bees I can fling at my enemies! And the giant bee enemies! And the dogs with bees in their mouths!

 

I will be fine as long as we don't have to fight giant slugs. Insects are cool, but those things are disgusting.

For years as a child I was scared of getting close to Canadian Geese because I was bitten by one when I was about 2.  Right of passage for any Canadian kid I guess.  But bugs don't bother me at all.
