Serious question that popped out of my head: Is it possible other creatures than humans, elves and qunari could become mages? Dwarves can't because of their unnaturally close proximity to lyrium (which should affect nugs aswell, actually), but what if bears or GIANTS could become mages? That'd be a sight.

 

The Ghasts have a type of "mage".

 

 

But why, really? Magic is something one is born with, it's not dependent (spelling?) on language or hands. At least I don't think it is.

 

Magic is in everyone. Using it is something else though.

@SeeTheFlickers I suppose that depends on who you assume the three warriors are, and whether we only have three warriors, doesn't it?

 

I just assumed there would be 3 of each class but maybe that is not the case?

Do we actually know for a fact that the Iron Bull is a warrior and not a rogue?

 

He is wielding a two-handed sword with what looks like the Bassrath-Kata skin in all the screenshot we have seen him in (like this one).

While I also think Iron Bull will be a warrior, it has to be noted that the arishok used a Bassrath-kata with one hand in DA2.

It's incredible how real she looks. She looks like somebody I could easily meet in real life, if that makes sense.

 

Not that I'd necessarily want to meet her in real life because she could probably have me on the verge of tears in about 10 seconds just from a look of disapproval at my outfit alone. She's kind of terrifying.

I tend to think that was only because duel wielding warriors weren't allowed.

The Arishok was a rogue in order to throw those spears, the Iron bull is shown holding a massive BFS.

He was classed as a Rogue by the game's engine, simply because he wielded two weapons, which Warriors were unable to do.

Oh, I think Iron Bull is a warrior too. Just pointing out that it is possible to be a massive Qunari with massive horns and still be a rogue.

Yeah some other creatures can be mages , such as Ghasts.

I guess you'd need a creature who can have some form of very primitive language and well...proper hands for casting spells.

 

 

oooooo. I guess that's true. I think the nug thing is more of a joke really tho. 

 

ghasts are probably the only one so far. Maybe Fex (when we learn more about them)
