To be fair, 80's Sarah was a bit of a damsel. 90's Sarah was the badass.
They should have gone with Ripley from Aliens.
I stand corrected.
It's funny, I can't think of many female action heroes between Ripley and Connor, and now Katniss. There were a few Tomb Raider movies, Underworld, and the Resident Evil films, but they never took off the way Aliens, Terminator, and now Hunger Games are.
All that time people didn't expect Nevarra for no reason. So those magazines didn't just make that up.
Ok guys, this is getting ridiculous. First of all, that video was from several years ago before DA:I was even leaked, let alone announced -- all we knew back then was that it was Dragon Age: "the next thing." Second of all, nowhere in the video do they say "we're going to Nevarra." At 4:59 they show a map that circles the lower half of Thedas. However, the only locales they mention explicitly in the video ware Orlais and Fereldan. If you speculated that Nevarra and the free marches would be included based off the map -- that's your problem. The devs are not responsible for your speculation any more than they are for your head canon or mods. No, they're not going out of their way to troll you or backtrack or lie, you're conjuring this out of nowhere.
Same goes for the other poster (Hannoi I think?). He kept throwing up random links to source spurious quotes that I'm pretty sure never actually existed. But none of the links he posted went to actual DA articles, they just went to random ass gaming sites.
This whole blaming the devs for lying or concealing something is really effing obnoxious. And it's not like Orlais and Fereldan and the Dales aren't a huge area...

I am disappointed with the May issue, as the Dragon Age cover article has at least two major confirmed errors:
Nevarra and the Free Marches are NOT areas to be visited in Dragon Age Inquisition.
Morrigan will NOT be a companion.
I suggest that someone contact Bioware to find out if there are any other major errors in the article, and I suggest publishing the errata in the next issue.
I feel I wasted $9.00 by buying this issue.
I look forward to a response indicating how Xbox Magazine will rectify this issue for myself and other Dragon Age fans.
Here's mine:
Hello there,
I am very disappointed with the may issue's article on Dragon Age Inquisition. The writing itself was flawless and entertaining, but contained false content.
False information in the article could easily be sited before the release of the issue, such as Morrigan as a companion. The developers have also confirmed details that are contrary to the article after it's publication, such as places that won't actually be in the game (like Nevarra).
I suggest the powers at be contact Bioware's development team, and sort out the true and false details in the article, then post a free online rewrite.
Many individuals, including myself, feel that the money they spent to purchase the magazine was not well spent on account of these falsehoods.
However, I do continue to look forward to further coverage on Inquisition and hope that the issue will soon be resolved.

Fair enough, I didn't know about that. But Mike didn't say that those locations would be SURELY be in. He said 'Peole are expecting this, I'm thinking this'. That's not the same as saying 'Nevarra is a location in DAI'.
So I should expect that before the game was even announced, before we know anything about it, that phrase from Laidlaw is a confirmation about DAI locations? Things changed during development, as DAI already shown (in positive). That map is what Booware wanted to do back then. Nowhere after the DAI 'announcment' in November 2012 they stated that Nevarra was a location.
Plus, the fact that they hinted years ago at Nevarra being a location, or even if they did say that it was back the , don't a justification for OXM. Bioware always said after the announcment that Ferelden and Orlais were the location of the game. They already comfirmed that Tevinter (another supposed location), was out. You can't write a preview and saying that the game is divided in FIVE regions (where Bioware never said that) and say that Nevarra and FM are in without any confirmation from the devs, because of something they said years ago when the game wasn't announced, where Bioware at the same time already confirmed what the locations were.

OXM has *SCREENSHOTS* of Nevarra, with the caption:
"One of the new regions accessible in Inquisition is Nevarra, where people often mummify their dead. Unfortunately, it's also an open invitation for zombies and other necromancy."
This is why I never even believed that pic was of Nevarra. When your content already has glaring easily-identifiable falsehoods (ie Morrigan) I refuse to believe anything else you are telling me without a direct source I can see with my own eyes.
What has happened here is a grand case of extreme miscommunication coupled with a liberal dose of liberal interpretation.

Just as an addendum to the video from long ago, Mike's point was that "People will expect a small area of the map such as a local region, but we'd like to cover a much bigger area of the map."
The timeline of that video being posted puts my own work to "welcome to Frostbite!" where I couldn't definitively state where we'd be going in the game. At that point we were mostly doing technical evaluations of the engine and learning what we'd need to deliver a BioWare game experience.

Take a friendly advice: you need to stop defending the devs around, there's a whole forum full of such people. You wanna go pedantic? Well okay then. The devs didn't say "Nevarra definitely will be a DAI location", but I didn't blame them either. Look at my post and try to find a word of complaint.
All I said was "never is a strong word and people had some reasons to expect Nevarra as a DAI location". Sounds nearly peaceful unlike of your post.
So-- no, I don't blame the devs so chill out. I'm just a little upset but I understand it's no one's fault but mine.

Also, I've grown up with magazines just putting captions on screenshots that didn't even have to do with the screenshot itself. This particular screenshot just seemed like a good match-up for the text about Nevarra, since we see dead people on it.
