I just need to know what the class distribution is before I lose my damn mind.
What do you mean?

This is an outrage!
And.... *insert obligatory joke about nobody expecting him not to be Spanish here*
Well I was kind of waiting for somebody to ask me if I was Spanish so I can yell you have activated my trap card.
Ehh. the second accent being American was kind of expected for the Dwarves and Qunari but still... ehhhhhh.
Looks like I don't need to worry about which voice I'll be choosing any more, at least.
I'd prefer my Qunari spoke Klingon, but oh well.
Any word on who will be providing the voices, or just that one will have an American accent? I wonder what part of America too?
More than likely, West Coast aka the "Dictionary" accent (we have no flair...
). That, or (West?) Canadian (because Bioware) [think Sheploo's accent].
This is because anytime an accent isn't supposed to be from a particular identifiable region (Bostonian, Joisey, Southern, etc.) is used in video games, film, television, etc., it is usually West Coast because it is the plainest, most boring-est accent ever....of all time. And I like it that way, since I have a hard enough time understanding people in conversation as it is. ![]()

The West Coast's accent is their lack of an accent. ![]()

Someone ought to tweet M!Laidlaw to make sure someone's checking in on Epler ever 30 minutes or so to make sure he hasn't done anything to harm himself or others.

"Yo that bow and arrow are HELLA dope! You have so much swag, Varric!"
I have Eastern Canadian accent, only time you can hear it really is when I say "Out and about on a boat."
So it could be possible to visit other countries in DLC.... so i wouldn't count nevarra/starkhaven out totally yet!
Who said day 1 DLC had to be a companion? It could be a location.
The West Coast's accent is their lack of an accent.
Heh, when my Dad was in the military, he got stationed in Australia for a while. And that's how he learned he had a Californian accent. ![]()

maybe a bit out of the blue but will the Dalish inquisitor have a welsh accent?
English VoiceOver will support a British and American accent for the main character.

All races share the same hairstyles? can you show me the longest one for females? please, please, please...
Information on character generation will be out later.
So does this mean there's a male/female american voice, and a male/female British voice?

That's what it sounds like...
I imagine a US accent would reassure all those people who thought the Welsh voice in the trailer sounded weird and scary.
Weird and scary? IDK about you... but that voice was practically undressing me...

All this makes it seem less likely that anyone I wanted to be the voice will be so. ![]()
I find it amusing that when asked if the Elf PC would speak with a Welsh accent he said "English VoiceOver will support a British and American accent for the main character".
Welsh is a British accent, so it didn't really answer the question ![]()
On that note, I'd love to see the reaction if the Inquisitor spoke with a glaswegian accent.
I would have liked a nice French accent (as spoken by an actual French person) but I guess none of the Inquisitor backgrounds has them being Orlesian.
I'd pay double if my PC could have a Newfoundland accent!
The only people without accents are those who live in the Westcoast of Canada near the US border. ![]()

French accent is not an accent, it's badly spoken English.
Gimmick accents works in Saints row, but in Dragon age ? nah

But technically that's lingo, not an accent (also specific to NorCal, since we don't say hella in SoCal. I don't think we say yo much, either, but maybe that's just me, since I haven't participated in any of the lingo trends that swept through California during my youth)

I imagine that, speaking bluntly, there'd be a bit of backlash against the main character having a French accent, particularly when they're aiming for as broad an audience as possible. People have preconceived ideas about how fantasy characters should sound, and maybe it was better to play it safe.
I don't necessarily like that Anglo-American accents are so prevalent in everything, ever, but I can understand why caution would advise against using anything else for the main character.
