"This quest is distracting me from the main story. In the game. So I'm actually going to kill you."
Bwahahahahaha, I couldn't stop laughing at that.
I think it's a bit unfair really. Of course they're good, it's clear it's not their first time doing this (most of them anyway, unless they just happen to have those huge microphones laying around).
I thought the point was for a regular untrained fan to be in Inquisition. If they choose a recording clearly made by a professional voice actor, recorded in a studio then what's the point really. Voice actors can get roles in Inquisition during regular auditions.
I'll just hope that they're not so easily seduced by videos with serious recording equipment and disregard everything else. A friend of mine is convinced that they're only going to pick people with British accents anyways, though I don't think that's necessarily true.
I can barely keep up with all the posts in here!

While I do think a few professional voice actors entered this contest, I think they'll be a bit dismayed to learn that there's no cash prize associated with the contest. So the joke's on them, really.
Well for them it's something they can put on their resume, getting their talent out there for potential employers. So it only benefits them in the long run anyway. While I do think a few professional voice actors entered this contest, I think they'll be a bit dismayed to learn that there's no cash prize associated with the contest. Are they done with Follower Friday or am I just impatient? ![]()

Ehhhhhh. I really doubt the winner of this thing is going to be saying more than a few simple lines like "Good day, Inquisitor" and "Armour/weapons/potatoes for sale". Not the best resume fodder, and not the best use of your time if you're seeking paid work.

No, there's going to be a Follower Friday every month. Check back in a couple weeks.

I thought they'll be doing the roles they read: the senechal and the villager.

They've said the roles you've read won't actually be the role you portray in the game.

I'm pretty sure one of the devs said those are only sample scripts.

Man, I miss a lot with these headphones.
Don't worry about it. Luke wasn't talking to YOU anyway.

As far as I remember, Bioware never said they'll give any cash prizes. The prize was getting flown to a city with one of their recording studios, they'll pay for your accommodations and you'll get your voice in Inquisition. That's it. Where does the paid work come in? Why do you think people assume there's going to be a cash prize and will be disappointed when they don't get it? Did I miss something? ![]()
Even so, can't people just be fans of a thing and want to be a part of it without getting bags of money out of it? I know I wouldn't mind lending my voice to the game because the emotional satisfaction of contribution a little piece of myself to it would be enough.
