Looks a lot less graphically impressive than the last few they've shown off. Lack of SSAO, AA seems pretty poor and that wheat or whatever it's supposed to be looks pretty 2D and blurry. Other screens have impressed me quite a bit but this, along with a few other screenshots, have looked really bad. Wonder if they're taking some SS's from console version and others from PC, or on PC at various settings?

I don't know about this one but the recent magazine screenshots were from a PC build running at medium settings according to OXM. I'm not sure why they would do that though.

Yeah, I was going to say it didn't look as crisp as some of their other ones.

 

Even compared to the screenshot of the Exalted Plains that they showed a couple of days ago, this one seems to have more rough edges.

I really thought it was artwork looking at the shadows and burned down houses.

Well looks good anyway.I'm happy there's going to be touch of color here and there.

And details such as scarecrows...

For me, the last two pictures posted have something going on with the lighting.

 

Too many midtone shadows or something?

 

Or maybe the light parts aren't lighted enough for how dark the shadows are, or too many shadows (and too dark) for the quality of light.

It just kind of gives a 'flat' look. Kind of hard to explain. I'm a geologist and do a lot of hiking in similar type of terrains and in all kinds of weather/times of day, and the light/shadows just look off to me.

 

 

Although I will say, I'm liking the colors, the textures, the little stuff like birds in the sky, plants.....very nice looking so far.

So am I the only one having unpleasant remembrances of the scarecrows from Doctor Who? Seriously, I don't need to imagine zombiefied corpses to feel uneasy about the Exalted Plains, only that scarecrow. *shudders*
