I think this whole Cullen thing is quite fishy though:

 

- Cullen is companion = imbalance both class and gender distribution of our group.

- Knowing Gaider and the gang, I doubt they would give in to public demand and give Cullen a companion spot. If anything, they are far more likely  to tease or do something naughty and feed off our tears.than give us what we want (well what a lot of people want anyway).

- Nobody from BioWare confirmed anything yet. Consider how big the news is (new companion, first LI reveal), they are awfully quiet. 

- Greg's tweet didn't exactly scream "companion and LI." More like a vague tease. For all we know, Cullen can be NPC and develop relationship with other npcs.

 

So yeah, I hate to say this but, calm your sh!t guys. I'm sensing a massive evil scheme here.

I bet you this is all a misunderstanding... nothing was confirmed... except that cullen is in the game and has some sexy lines... for all we know he could be talking with a desire demon and you have to intervene.

Oh for .... Cullen was in the survey! And the concept art! And now you have his VA confirming he's voicing the character again! And an offhand comment by Darth Allan makes you think he's just a minor NPC?

Pretty sure Gaider confirmed she wasn't a companion around the same time he said she wasn't Vivienne (in a tweet if iirc! not off topic ). My bet for her is on a Chambers/Traynor sort of NPC.

Yeah, I have vague memories of Gaider saying that scribe girl wasn't a companion aswell.

 

And i just want to say, as much as I want the gender ratio amongst the companions to be as equal as possible, I really, really want Dorian from the survey to be one. His description was the most interesting one to me, and Gaider did say that Solas wasn't Dorian, but since we already have one male elf mage companion I feel like hoping for him to be in the party rooster would be futile. One can always dream, though.

 

But I'd avoid being overjoyed about the "confirmed" Cullen companion and LI until we've actually heard something about it from the devs. We can't be sure it's true unless they say it is.

I am trying to temper myself a bit just in case. Confirmed presence. Confirmed "much more" lines than previous entries. Confirmed raunchy lines. Semi-confirmed "Companionship", though what that means to Ellis might be different than what it would mean to us.

 

There is part of me that thinks they wouldn't have let a companion reveal get "cleared" for the actor to announce and not the marketing team, so it might be like Steve Valentine's announcement. We shall see.

Is Sera confirmed or just hinted at? If not, then we have three more companion reveals. I hope the bearded Grey Warden hasn't been scrapped.

 

Iron Bull could be a special rogue/warrior hybrid, similar to how Varric has a unique crossbow. Iron Bull could use big swords like the Arishok did and still be considered a rogue. That'd be neat.

 

Have the devs commented on the Cullen reveal at all or is it too early?

Sera has been mentioned by name in one of the magazine articles. And for what it's worth, the Grey Warden (and Sera) have been seen in an early gameplay video.
