I just finished Masked Empire and it's really, really good.
Anyone wanting a new perspective on the Orlesian civil war and the elven rebellion before Inquisition should definitely pick it up.
There are also some fascinating new characters there.
I just finished reading the novel and I'm still in a state of shock. I don't know whether to cry or scream. The book was intense and more than once I had to remember to breath. At one point I actually snapped at my sister for interrupting me and nearly choked when I ate dinner quickly. By the time I finished, my hands were shaking.
Yeah. I still need time to process what I read. Amazing novel. Kudos to Patrick Weekes.

I don't want to be a pain, but could people please not discuss the book in this thread? It's the only thread I'm reading currently because I don't want spoilers. Even if there aren't any specific spoilers mentioned in what you're saying, knowing that there is a part that made you feel shocked or that something happened in the epilogue may not technically be a spoiler, but it creates an expectation for people who haven't read the book yet. I don't want to read through it knowing there is going to be a surprise/shock/whatever even if I don't know what it is.

I know Epler floated the idea on Twitter of doing a similar panel as a semi-serious joke, but I hope he really considers it (so long as he's explicit about citing his female/PoC/trans sources in the process)(but I can't imagine he wouldn't do that because he seems like a real stand-up kind of guy.)
