Let me rephrase. That speech was well thought out and rational, capable of appealing to people outside of a small core audience who Allready fully agree with it. This is refreshing to see, as such a persuasive argument is increasingly rare as factions debating this matter become extremely polarized. Better?

Why? It would help, but it's not like video games are the pinnacle of social equality. Only reason video games have changed is it's not socially acceptable for large chunks of the world to discriminate wildly anymore. Doesn't mean watching that will change the mind of anyone entitled enough or discriminatory enough to disagree in the first place.

I think Gaider was being sarcastic, since Nevarra is close to Navarra, so it wouldn't be a fake name, but close to a real one, and Calabria even more so, since it's real .

I see, so a woman making a 101 level free educational tool for general audiences is a shrill harpy preaching to a choir, but a man addressing a crowd of like-minded game developers who pay an exorbitant fee to be there has general appeal. I commend you on your flawless logic.

Anita's video is aimed at an introductory level.  If there is anything that I personally didn't care for it, was that it wasn't aimed at me.  It wasn't hostile.  It's one part of the general discussion which has many facets, and to be frank is likely responsible for getting the ball rolling.  The reaction to Anita was an eye opening event for me.

 

But, the comparison to Anita is NOT necessary, and further posts that seek to denigrate her work in an attempt to build up Manveer's post will not be tolerated here.  This is the only warning I will give.

Seems like people in the thread like it. I read the amazon preview but it didn't grab me. Dunno. I really liked Asunder because it was immediately clear there were questions to be answered. I guess, is it kind of political all the way through or does it branch out to wider lore? That would probably be my question.
