So, really random question, but do lions exist in Thedas? (Sorry for bugging you, have a nice day!)
Yes, in the Donarks and areas further north.

About Lions:
Areas north of the Donarks would be places that aren't on the existing map of Thedas. That's really interesting.
(The antipodean in me loves the implication that Thedas as a continent is in the southern hemisphere of its planet - if it's even on a planet - so the temperature gets warmer as one goes north.)

and cold as one goes south. One could theorize that the known "thedas" is half of the continent.
I think it was humans that came from the east, and qunari came from the north. (if i remember the lore correctly)
elves dominated the land, and parvollen had Fex.

Which makes one wonder if Bioware has a complete map of world sealed away in their vaults...

hidden among the jars of fan tears. Clever.

That's interesting. I'd love to see one! Think about new places etc...Ah. My new dream ![]()

Well apparently they have a good deal of Dragon Age secrets looked away in the developer wiki which can only certain things can be viewed by certain people.
*Puts on black gloves* We need to infiltrate BioWare. Quick we need a team of elite disfunctional fans!

What are "podeans" and why do you dislike them so much?

Antipodeans are essentially people that live in the southern hemisphere.
The strange thing is that the Thedosian calendar seems to correspond with North Hemisphere seasons ie they celebrate Summerday in the 5th month when it should actually be fall/winter for them.
That's probably just because Thedas follows the monthly calendar developed by the Chantry; and before that, Tevinter.
The only reason the Earth Northern Hemisphere Spring starts in March is because the Gregorian calendar was developed by the Catholic church in Italy, based on the Julian calendar developed by Rome - both in the Northern Hemisphere.
If the 'standard' calendar had been developed in Australia or Argentina, I'd imagine New Years would be July 1st.

David said some parts of the lore are actually off-limits to most of the developers because they're super secret, I wouldn't be surprised if things like the origin of the qunari and where humans came from are part of that.
.... the Deep Lore…namely, those pages in our internal wiki which are off limits save to a few folks, which talk about some of the foundational truths in DA’s history. The Big Stuff, which we need to know the truth behind just so we’re consistent, even if we might not necessarily ever reveal any of it. Some mysteries, after all, are lessened the moment they’re defined.

That really has nothing to do with it. The Hebrew (or Jewish) calendar was also developed in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Jewish New Year (Rosh HaShana) is around September. The year cycles in various calendars do usually correspond to seasonal changes, but which season they correspond to is almost arbitrary.

so, who do i have to bribe or kill to get that? ![]()

I didn't even think about the Hebrew calendar. Lunar-based makes my head hurt....
The arbitrary-ness of the "what season day falls in what month" is what I was trying to point out - I just didn't do it very well. ![]()

I remember...
Where's Ocean's Eleven when you need them...?

There is good narrative potential in not knowing things, though.
The Fade is so interesting precisely because we don't really know what it is, how it works or who made it. The Maker's role as an ambiguous, quasi-mythical god constructed and interpreted by humans is way preferable to knowing the truth about whether she/he/it/they exist.
I suspect a fair chunk of the heretical or apocryphal parts of the Chant of Light will form some of Inquisition's main plot, and knowing all about that now would spoil the surprise in the game.
(Exhibit A: Bioware, I totally did not need to know about the origin of the Reapers)
I remember...

Nah, I'm sure they went classic old-school with that one. A hidden chamber in a city covered by a sandstorm for which you need a piece of jewelry on a staff in a map-room to find the location.

Quick call Nathan Drake ... or Lara Croft whoever gets here faster!
