Technically, it's "the same" information presented differently, by a different person. But that's not entirely true because people who write previews ask different questions etc. Some of it's the same in that it's what BioWare wanted to say, obvs.

OK. I'll go stick some info in there. It just struck me as being presented well.

(I seriously hope the combat info turns out to be the way I read it. I love combat in these games.)

Firky, it would be wonderful if you'd post the combat info somewhere too (if you have the time). I enjoy the combat in DA games, too, so you have me intrigued!

Edit: Cheers for posting the dialogue stuff - it does sound like a deeper reaction system than we've seen so far!

Just trying to clarify the combat info first. I may have read it wrongly.

I think I was reading it as a PC/old schooly gamer who always plays in the highest view etc, but the combat demonstration obviously given to the previewers is then described as what happens when you pause from over the shoulder and a variety of orders combine with characters' AI, etc. Might have been a non-PC demo or just one that focuses on play close up.

(PS. Don't get too excited. It's a small combat thing that probably I will love more than anyone else, inexplicably, or something.)

@user: @Mike_Laidlaw You (and others) have been really patient and great answering fan questions :) When might more voice actors be confirmed?

Mike Laidlaw@Mike_Laidlaw: @user I'm sure more will come along before launch, but I don't have a timeline.

I read "lunch" instead of "launch" and got really excited. :D

Then I read the tweet again and realized my mistake. Now I'm sad. :( That'll teach me not to pay attention.

For Aussies, just got my PC Powerplay subscription (like, in the mail) with DAI preview. I think it'll be on shelves next Wednesday. (I've been a contrib for this mag for a long time, so you may want to rely on someone else's opinion on whether to buy it specifically for DA knowledge. I didn't write this preview.)

I dunno if it's worth making an individual thread right now, but there was one thing in there about combat that made me go WOOHOO, but I can't discern from the context whether I've misread it. I shall endeavor to clarify.

(Also, lots of detail about conversation wheel.)

I don't think Bioware will ever release a toolset again.... I just can't see it happening while they keep using Frostbite.

New party members won't be coming to Dragon Age: Inquisition after it launches: http://bit.ly/1lSZMr7  For good reason.

Which, of course, also means "no new party members, period".

As an example: if Shale hadn't been completed in DLC, Shale would simply have never existed insofar as the fans are concerned. Perhaps some people are happier with that, I'm not sure. All I'm saying is that there are two sides to every coin.

I don't post here often, but this actually makes me sad. It feels a bit like people like me, who silently enjoy Bioware games and DLC (and don't mind paying or pre-order to get it) are getting punished because a few people don't like it and make noise about it.

There will still be dlc, just not character dlc.

Im okay with that ^^ if we can learn more about our companions (new personal dialog)! What i disliked about dlc companions : example ''talis'' she was nice and fun but had barely 1 hour 30 of gameplay to learn about her and enjoy her story .. and as for sebastian he didint seem as well implented in the game then the others! on the other hand i appreciated all dlc character in origins but i can definitly live without having new dlc companions in  inquisition! Can't wait to actually learn more about them in Follower friday <3

I know that. But as I was quoting Gaider regarding character dlc I was referring to that.

The example he gives that Shale would simply not exist...what other potential great characters will not exist because there will be no character dlc? We will never know, and that makes me sad.

It might mean that their DLC packs will be bigger and better, though, since some of the time during certification that would have been spent on day-one DLC will now presumably be spent on their first content pack.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of extra content for DA:I when all is said and done, and if they can reduce some of the internet's hysteria I don't think that's a bad thing.

I'm content with the notion of fully integrated companions at the expense of DLC companions.

Personally, I loved the DLC characters and was always happy to buy them. The characters are my favorite part of the games and a bigger DLC quest or more weapons/items aren't nearly as interesting to me as another character. I was really disappointed there wont be a DLC character this time. I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game with the originally slated characters, but it definitely wasn't good news for me, personally.

So does this mean there won't be any temporary party members like Tallis in future story based DLCs?

No, I think if the character is exclusive to the new content its fine. The trouble comes with having to integrate the new character into the original game.

We could see temporary DLC companions still.

I have enjoyed some of Bioware's dlc characters, Shale being my all-time favorite, but I don't really have a problem with not being able to have dlc characters in the future. There are other ways dlc can be fun.

To be honest, I don't really like temporary DLC party members. I don't really want to be forced to use them again, like with Tallis. I wasn't a fan of the character and it resulted in me rushing through the DLC once and never playing it again. If they exist, but it's a choice whether to use them or not, I wouldn't be as bothered. Generally, though, I'd rather have the new commentary and banter from the companions I'll spend the whole game with.
