If that were the case he wouldn't be spending all this effort to find him in the first place. I think Alistair would be able to do it. Hell, depending on the state Maric is in, Maric would make him do it.HiroVoid wrote...

I think that's new
Mike is quite frank about the timeline, really, he could've easily obfuscated a little there.
We know he'll be at PAX in late March (possibly with some other devs?) so it'll be good to see what happens. Surely E3 would be a little too late, given how short a marketing time that gives them before the game is meant to be launched late this year.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I doubt that was written by a Bioware person, far more likely someone at Dark Horse as promotional material. The comics and novels have their own canon which is separate from game canon.Lintanis wrote...

When does E3 happen this year?

Mark did say he'd want sooner rather than later, and PAX is a good three months earlier than E3. I'm not sure what's between them in terms of conventions, but something in March or April strikes me as probably more likely.

Hmmm... well, considering Sony is unveiling the PS4 next week (20th), I'm guessing the floodgates will open after that with respect to other nextgen games being unveiled or shown in some capacity before E3. I just have a hard time imagining any game that's slated for release this year amidst new consoles not being shown off at all before June. You know MS and Sony will inevitably have their own first party launch games looking great and you'll have a ton of other new IPs, you still have a behemoth like GTA V coming out later this year and just the attention the new consoles themselves will get. If BioWare is actually releasing DA3 this year and not 2014, then I'd expect to see something, be it an in game trailer or gameplay, relatively soon. End of the year is going to be damn crowded and if I were trying to market a game, I don't think I'd want to wait until E3 to unveil or announce it, as it seems like an easy way for it to get lost.
I wonder what Laidlaw means when he refers to "parity... after engine change"? Does he mean feature parity in terms of having systems in place that were present in DA:O or DA2? Does he mean parity in terms of how the game works on the various platforms its going to come out on?

I think the pairity he is talking about is features/gameplay/visuals. We had to rebuild everything from scratch (tools/assets) when we switched to Frostbite. It's up to Mike/Mark to decide when they think we've hit that point.

Sexy dialogue? Yay! I support sexy dialogue. Sensuous. Tense. Flirtatious. Subtle w/just a hint of Rawrz.
Quick, someone peel Gaider a grape! Truffles. Send in the Truffles! And hey, Gaider, don't be afraid to tou....
Whoaa, and what's this? Mike Laidlaw "sooner, rather than later?" Yes, that is encouraging. Usually, it's later rather than sooner.
I think Alistair would sacrifice Maric, but somehow I don't think things are gonna go as planned whether he does, or not. It does seem a nice lil bridge.

It can get pretty cheesy if not done correctly (I'm looking at you, ME2 FemShep). In my mind DG reads it out loud to himself, complete with funny voices.Commander Kurt wrote...
I think sexy dialogue must be among the toughest things to write. Its just sooooo awkward trying to be suave and foxy without it turning to porn and/or crap.
Imagine if stuff like that was included in a collectors edition.
