I hate to be a stick in the mud, but for me the LI reveals are ""Bigger" then the companion reveals, since we mostly know the companions before the LI's right? . so why keep that info out of the loop? seems odd...can't put my finger on it...must be the secret companions stuff i guess...

So, according to LadyInsanity Iron Bull is definitely a companion, and a warrior at that (he'll be using a 2h sword but can be respecced as a sword n' board supposedly). If it's true that we'll have a 3/3/3 split, that means that either Feathers or Cullen will be left out. Of course, one of them could always end up as an advisor or something like that, or maybe Cullen took some time off after the events at Kirkwall to go learn how to rogue.

The only thing that speaks in Cullens favor of being a companion over GW, is the fact that he is an LI. i made a post in this thread some pages ago about GW, if you want to check that oone out if you haven't. in short; GW has; concept arts, in-game footage, survey info, companion armor mod art. imo this is overwhelming "proof". can be wrong, but i don't think so in this case.

Cullen could be a non companion romance as has been done in Mass Effect. Since we won't be able to click on our companions to chat unless we are in a safe zone, Cullen not being a companion won't be that big a deal since no matter what you'll need to chat with him in a safe zone anyway for most romance dialogue. At least I imagine it working that way. No matter what, I'm sure Cullen fans will just be grateful that hes a romance option at all. They waited a long time for this dream to come true.

Don't get me wrong, i'm happy for them, and i posted in another thread that if you look at ME3, if you didn't play the first 2, the people you could romance in ME3 are Kaidan/ashley, Liara as party members and then Cortez and Taylor as NPC's. Thats a 50/50 ratio between party and NPC LI's. (not counting javik, DLC). So this could go either way lol

 

Not saying that the DA team does what the ME team did, but it may be a good thing to consider it.

I know, and since we haven't seen Cullen in concept art except for the one where Gaider said that not all characters in this picture will be companions (and his own concept art that we saw together with the  character survey) I'm assuming that Feathers have a higher chance to get that last warrior slot. Anything could happen, though.
