LOL. A big problem is Bioware listening too much. Considering most of their fanbase, which is more concerned about which characters (and whatever else) they'll be able to screw 10 different ways. rather than actual gameplay, encounter design and proper rpg mechanics.
About five minutes ago, across the first two pages of the DA3 forum I counted twelve topics about romance/LI's. I really don't understand the mindset where asking a character questions, agreeing with them and then doing a quest for them just to see them get naked is more important than the other 20+ hours of the game. I dread to think what listening to that feedback will bring.
In general, I think romances have become overly emphasized and need to go. With BG2 and KotOR they felt new and presented us with new ways of approaching interactive narrative. But nothing else has been done with the concept, especially since Bioware has become more concerned with providing more and more love interests recently (DA:O and Mass Effect). If Love Interests are to remain, I'd prefer something more in the style of KotOR 2 with its more serious tone.
