OMG! FINALLY!

Sorry I got a little excited, after completing ME3 for the first time yesterday, I needed some good news. I honestly have a lot of expectations for Dragon Age III, and I'm looking forward to see what the new engine will offer, I noticed how the DA team is listening a lot to the fans, wich is pretty cool, most game developers don't do that, (mostly non-RPG game developers). Well, nothing much to say, I was hoping of opinions in this thread.

The miserable part of me says 'well, they SAY they're listening to us, but look how ME3 ended...'. The other bit of me is dancing for joy!

The problems with DA2 and ME3 (I enjoyed both games and felt neither was a disaster that some painted them to be but they did have a few SERIOUS issues.) should make DA3 a lot better if nothing else for the fact they should know what not to do in some key areas.

I do hope they have the sense not to take every bit of feedback to heart.

My expectations are that of, hoping it's a good RPG.

But since its Bioware I'll be expecting above average at the very least and now that we have the shadows of Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 hanging over this game it will need to be better then that to redeem themselves of past controversies.

It's a mixture of hope, faith and fear all balled into one. Won't lie. Gonna be one hell of a bumpy year.

Most likely setting tells me it'll be in Orlais with the seekers. Honestly hoping it won't be Orlais, be weird to have everyone with French accents...

Bioware certainly always knows how to wet my appetite though. Teasing me with tweets about Cullen. ;)

I expect everyone (including the financial bigwigs at EA) to give this team time to develop their ideas fully and make a game so good that it will sell 5 times over, on different formats for the next 30 years like BG2 and DA:O will.

I also expect Bioware to have realized by now that DA:O should be used as the foundation for this game, and that an action game is NOT an RPG.

I have very low expectations this time around, but I really hope that will change once we've seen what Bioware has to offer.

"This forum is for positive and friendly discussion" made me laugh a little, but regardless I'll try to be positive when relevant. My expectations? I want a good game that isn't rushed. That's why I've remained here until now. If I truly hated the DA franchise, then I wouldn't be here. I want to be a witness to BioWare's future & fate. Will they surprise or disappoint everyone with DA3? Only time will tell.

It is going to be fascinating to see if BioWare redeems themselves in my eyes, or I should just stop buying their games.

They certainly learned from their mistakes from DA2 and ME3 (I enjoyed both although they have their shortcomings) and If EA gives them enough time I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a great game.

I'm a little afraid of the multiplayer part and I hope it doesn't take away any development time / budget from the single player experience which Dragon Age (and Mass Effect) are all about.

While there are some directions the devs have said they are sticking with that I am not thrilled about, I am still super EXCITED for DA3 and can't wait to hear more. Dragon Age is still far and above my favorite RPG series. I have mid-range expections but high hopes for DA3 to be amazing. They're getting my money.

Well to start off, it's nice to finally to see confirmation about a game that we all knew that was coming out. That said, expectations are a bit high with a lot of pressure. That I can be sure of. All I want is that customization armor ability for companions that was "mention" in PAX East, not promised but mentioned. Also better use of combat tactics. And everything else that I mention in the other DA2 forums, and hopefully I said it in better detail. Still nice to see DA3 confirmed.

Well from what has been floating on the web which can change. But from a survey done It seems the location is in fact Orlais.. Seems a new character is in order. So that's a chance maybe to bring back racial choices. But apparently political intrigue spys assassination orders ect.. To further advance your goals on what that may be who knows. I simply hope for much more freedom of exploration larger world..Non reused maps and dungeons.. Better character and companion customization. I hope they bring back more in-depth conversations with not static talk locations.More natural romances.. Am fine with the dialogue wheel just more longer convo choices like DA:O that was part of the charm. With a more refined combat system like DA2 I liked the more action paced combat of DA2.. And better magic more talent points so I don't have to cheat lol..

But am Excited for all of the faults of DA2 and DAO and expansions and ME3 there still great games..ME3 was emotionally engaging The Ending even the extended cut was decent depending on what you picked. it was ok. but the honest truth is there is most likely more ME to come.

I'd honestly estimate that around 15-20% of people on these boards would instantly strike DA:3 off their shopping list if you could only be 1 race.

I expect the forums to be flooded with anger and disdain for Bioware and DA3 over any little thing someone didn't enjoy out of the experience. Then in about a month or two things will settle down and more thought out and intelligent discussions will be able to commence.

This game could be a masterpiece, but knowing this forums track record this is the definitive course of events.

I expect BioWare to basically copy DAO, because thats what the internet wants ... except DAO was not as good as people remember it and DA3 is going to feel dated compared to both competition and BioWares own previous titles.
