It'll probably be the norm of a unique horde mode based off the universe of the game itself, so like ME3's repetitive MP, which isn't bad, but could of used more story focused elements as well.

I cannot see a PVP based MP, but who knows.

Well, there is meant to be some kind of war going on - so, assuming that the storyline allows us to choose sides etc, perhaps they might make a seperate mp (kinda like me3) where you somehow have pro-mage or pro-templar pvp? and maybe some additional darkspawn horde mode?

Dunno how pvp/mp is going to work for a tactical rpg though - even if they limit you to one character, not been able to pause/choose more than a few abilities would be inconvenient.

As long as it's seperate from single player, I wouldn't mind. I would probably enjoy a pvp style of multiplayer in the Dragon Age universe. Or co-op would be fun.

As much as I enjoy the ME3 multiplayer (and the way they kind of tied it into the SP story instead of just slapping it on) a clear NO from me. To many times the MP just seems so forced, like oh god we have to have MP in our game, and takes away from the SP. And dear god, no Co-op Campaign (Dead Space III *shudder*)

Well ME3 Multiplayer is boring and galactic readiness was a really bad idea.

So... NO MULTIPLAYER!

I don't want MP for the DA series, but yes, it sounds like it's gonna happen either way. If it's like ME3, a lot of people will NOT be happy. Honestly, I liked the capability they had set up for NWN. Those live mods could be really cool, yet were totally separate from the SP campaign and SP mods. If they could do something similar to that, I'd be down with it. Just a thought.

What a sec. You can say you don'tlike. But you can't say other won't nor say a bunch of people don't like ME3 mp. That's not true at all.

I can easily see it working.

Forgive the confusion. I meant the way that ME3's MP intertwined with the SP player story...kinda sorta. Not the MP gameplay itself. And I speak for more than one person because of the other people I know who feel that way...in that having MP add "war assests" to the game was a bit of a rip off.

I think it can work, I just think it should be a separate entity.

Well i would like to say no to the MP in dragon age, but then again i also complained about the MP in ME3 before and enjoyed it when i tried, so i guess, i would give it try (as long as its seperate from SP that is)

No multiplayer for sure. It's just unnecessary, focus more on the story and gameplay...

Ok then but...ME3 mp only involed itself in the sp when you checked you online assists. It was never a bad idea. Just a different path.

Sure, as long as it's fun and doesn't compromise single player then I don't see any reasonable downside.

With disc space there will always be a compromise. And the budgets EA is allowing for Bioware should all be invested in the single-player experience. Even if it's outsourced to another team money that could have gone into more productivity for SP will have gone to MP.

MP just wouldn't work like SP, either. Taking out the ability to pause and plan with a wide variety of abilities kind of defeats the point of what DA combat is.

Hopefully it'll be more like BG2 and not another horde mode clone (aren't there enough of those already?).

I like the idea of multiplayer in Dragon Age 3, but not like how Mass Effect 3 does it. I also like PVE content, but not wave based stuff. How about co-op story, Gears of War style?

Multiplayer in DAIII had already pretty much been confirmed.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/315/index/13997058/4#14005691

Also it is supposedly more then likely going to be Co-op and I had heard of the possibility of a 5 character party.

Everyone do me a favor and Google Myth: The Fallen Lords.  Hit YouTube.  Here's a quick example.

Myth had fantastic multiplayer, and you'll see the UI and even the gameplay would fit almost directly on top of the DA UI, lore, and characters.  It's the perfect model for MP, IMO.

EA will force it, that's pretty much fact.

I implore BW. DO NOT HAVE IT AFFECT THE SINGLE PLAYER.

If it does, I will sell the game without playing it.

So if the game has multiplayer, you're going to buy it and then sell it?  Basically you're going to set fire to money if they make multiplayer?  :)

j/k, I understand what you meant!

As long as the multiplayer portion is kept completely separate from the singleplayer portion, no problem with me.

And I do mean completely.

I agree. As long as I can enjoy the single player game I will be happy.

I'm going to air out my idealisitc side and hope that DA 3's multiplayer will follow the route of NWN: A toolset that comes with the game or soon after that allows driven players to create their own modules for other players to drop into and out of at will.
Might be too much to hope, with the state of things as they stand, but idealism! Idealism, mates!

I'm totally in favour of MP but I'd like it to be kept apart from the single player game

But that always left up to you to use it that way. Even in ME3 MP.
