What are the top 5 things you are hoping to see in DA3

For me it has to be:

1. Returning characters, particularly Morrigan and Isabela

2. Improved combat tactics mechanics - Its very frustrating when tactics end up broken, I love the tactical element so I'd like to see them get this right first time

3. A Multi-player mode that does not affect the single player campagin

4. Choices that matter - Lets see consequences to choices from both DA3 and even DAO and DA2

5. In depth characters - Bioware always do a great job with characters, but I'd really like to see more interaction with companions, not just a "Isabela wants to speak to you type thing"

Thoughts ?

1. Our choices need to have an impact on the world around us. We need to feel like we are genuinely changing the world as we adventure.

2. The choices we already made need to have an impact. The import from DA:O and DA2 needs to matter. Make the decisions actually affect the world. It doesn't have to be huge, but it needs to be more than what DA2 did.

3. Better tactical combat. No more spawning waves, more emphasis on taking advantage of terrain and resources to set up your battlefield.

4. More in-depth companion interaction. I actually think DA2 did this well, but I think there's room for improvement.

5. More branching paths for the story. DA2 was the tightest railroad I've ever seen in a western RPG. Let's not do that again.

1. A choice in our character(race, origin, etc)
2. Female Kossith LI(because, why not?)
3. Werewolf companion
4. Toned down combat and more in depth combat(no jumping all over the place with a GREAT SWORD and maybe a second button to do a different attack)
5. A story that is happening as I'm playing, I don't want it being told to me like DA2's

1. Familiar Characters- Leliana, Merrill, Morrigan, Everybody from Vigil's Keep, and many more.

2. Find out what really happened to my Dalish Warden. I expected Merrill in DA2 would have some idea but if Leliana returns maybe she will. (Leliana was my LI)

3.Part Banter is a must. They are great.

4. See the world. Not just restricted to one country (probably France) but be able to wonder Thedas and go to places like Weisshaupt, Tevinter, back to Fereldan, etc

5. Custom PC. By that I mean more choices than just human. Sort of like the origin stories in DA:O but maybe add more like Qunari

Effort, detail, innovation.

Those are enough.

1) Mage pants.
2) Big Spells. I liked the more animated, more active spells in DA2, but in many (but not all) places they seemed to sacrifice scope. I want the big AoE clouds of doom and death back from DAO!
3) Stealth. MotA did a passable job on one of my favorite game mechanics. I'm excited to see if it will show up in DA:I.
4) Leliana. I'm an absolute sucker for shadowy secret societies, so knowing she's a fancy Templar boss makes me even more interested in her.
5) Save game import. I really hope I can pull my saves from the first two games and have them at least flavor but preferable change DA3.

1) Good length. I don't mean DA:O style. Origins only had a few main missions but those missions were really long. For DA3, i'd like to see shorter missions but a lot more of them and a lot of side quests. So if people want to blitz through the main story, they should be able to, but for people like me that love optional side quests, we should be able to have plenty of those too. The longer the game the better I think.

2) Customization. By this I mean not just the character creator but the whole game experience. I don't mind if my party wear pre-set clothes but I would still like to give them stat boosting equipment even if I can't see it. Just as long as my main character can change appearance though.

3) More towns. One of the things I loved most about Origins was being able to travel to different towns and see the different shops there. DA2 was a fun game but only really having Kirkwall and the elf village was a bit samey.

4) Better love interests. I loved the all-bi of DA2 as it meant I had the choice of 2 female characters rather than just 1 as I did in Origins. However I think Mass Effect 3 did romances better than DA2. Have some straight, some bi and some gay. Maybe 1 per gender? That way, the romances are unique and not just the same thing whether you play as male or female. It worked well with Mass Effect - showed video games are moving forward in a positive way! :)

5) A good CE! The game isn't out for a long time, that's long enough to ask us what we want to see in a special release. A lot of us would pay good money for a good limited edition release with some physical items in. Just please if you do this, give the UK what the USA gets. Don't make a good CE then limit it to one country.

So excited!!

The ability to play my character the way I've designed him, even if that's not the way BioWare expects him to be played.

That's all.  If I get that, DA3 is a triumphant return to greatness for BioWare.

My 5 Things:

1. Multiple backgrounds that affect how the game begins and how the world treats my character (if this includes multiple races, that would be icing on the cake).

2. A revamp of the dialogue wheel/paraphrase/conversation icon system that is less restrictive

3. Females for all races, preferably with a few of them being companions (or, as above, a playable character race).

4. Using Mage/Templar war as a jumping off point to a much more (to me) entertaining plot.

5. Less dangling of plot thread lines that are not intended to go anywhere (the Nexus Golem, Golems of Amgarak, Sandal's prophecy, Enigma of Kirkwall, Gaxkang/The Forbidden Ones, the Tome of Koslun, Corypheus, the Architect, etc.) that are essentially thrown in without much thought at all about where they would be going. And I'd also like more resolution to big choices in previous games without reducing them to a number, a small cutscene, or a two second side quest (Urn of Sacred Ashes, Anvil of the Void, Bhelen/Harrowmont, Ferelden's ruler, saving Amaranthine/Vigil's Keep, etc). So... basically I want Bioware to start acting on all of this lore they've been building up. Instead of introducing tons more stuff that won't ever get resolved/answered/properly followed up on, ever.

1. No multiplayer.
2. A long campaign with an amazing story.
3. Great characters and no muppets like James Vega to represent 'the new players'.
4. No streamlining (i don't know why but in Borderlands and Dead Island i loved hoarding loot, comparing stats etc).
5. A **** load of customisation.
6. No morality bar, just the player picking what they think is right.
7. Better dialogue system with more choices instead of the typical good answer, bad answers, investigate: I want sexy time with you etc.
8. Plenty of environments with huge differences.
9. Choices actually matter.
10. No child at the end.

1. A good protagonist. I want the Warden to be in the game, but I know there's a big chance they won't be a large role and that's okay. I tried to like Hawke, but the role he played always felt more like a bystander who gets goaded into doing filler quests, while other characters are the ones to advance the story.
2. Decisions that matter[ed]. The impact of importing into DA2 was probably one of the most disappointing aspects of the game. Kirkwall/DA2 is mostly the same no matter what the Warden did; what about the rest of the world? Lots of questions arose with Origins and DA2, and they do not need to be reminded, they need to be addressed. A new story should be interesting, but should build on the foundation, not start a new one.
3. Environments. DA2 was pitiful, and Bioware should know they can't get away with it again.
4. Romance. DA2's free-for-all was bad. Mass Effect 3 took a much better approach to romance.
5. Conversation. I miss the conversation options of Origins, which were almost as fun as the game itself. I know the wheel is easier and probably a lock to reappear, but can we at least get rid of the icons? The flirty heart icon is insulting to me. Also would like conversation choices to affect the story, for example, having enough intimidation or cunning to avoid a battle and convince a person to give you what you need without them dying.

1. No waves of enemies like DA2, keep few enemies but bump up health and damage they do, make fights tactical instead of just wiping out waves without thinking.

2. Play as Warden!

3. Rename game Dragon Age Origins II and live up to the title.

4. Play as Warden!

5. Alistair as companion.

1. Option to play as different races again. I missed playing as an Elf.Also, why not a Kossith? Also, i wanna see kossith females. I thought the design for male and female kossith qunari looked great.

2. Location variety. DA origins had orazamar, the forest, etc. I wanna see more variety like that instead of just one location

3. Diverse companions with depth. Hoping that some of them don't give me a strong sense of deja vu when it comes to the companions ive seen in previous games.

4. More gray morality when it comes to the overall story and consequence.

5. Customization and skill trees to have more depth than it did in the previous games

1- More choice for each class.
I don't like the classes being so limited in weapon and armor choices. A duelist rogue should be capable of using a longsword. A warrior should be capable of using 2 longswords. Etc.
2- More involved romances.
The romances in DA2 all felt mostly the same to me, and didn't really feel important in any way. They didn't feel like passionate love affairs IMO. They just felt like the bare minimum to be able to say the game had romances.
3- More realistic combat.
The combat in Origins was pretty slow, but the combat in DA2 was ridiculous. It was like watching an anime, but with people exploding from getting stabbed to add to the stupidity. Something closer to Origins would be great.
4- A list of full dialogue choices instead of the wheel.
I hated that wheel. Even with the symbols of intent Hawke would say things that the abbreviations didn't imply. It was maddening.
5- Choices that actually matter.
DA2 merely offered the illusion of choice. Some lob the criticism at Origins as well, but that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Really the only remotely important decision you make in all of DA2 is in regard to Anders' fate. Everything else plays out the same no matter what you choose. I want actual choices that matter to Thedas.

1. Good story of course~
2. Loots of character interaction, especially with companions
3. Customization, lots of that too. Let us choose our race again, please?
4. More areas to explore. Give us new places to see! And no copy-paste dungeons with different names this time. :D
5. And this is important. To me. I've waited for two games now, can I please get my kossith LI? And make it a good romance. In fact, make all the romances good. Keep them all bi too, that was nice.

Also, females to all races, toning down the combat animations, improving on the graphics while keeping the current art style... yeah. I'll probably come up with more later but that's what comes to my mind at this moment.
