More demons and demons that don't look exactly like each other.
Rich lore much like DA1, while having combat features of DA2
Better causes and effects, choices made would show significant consequences that matter.
More dialogue options.
Perhaps companions to actually call you by your first name.

Arcane Warrior spec or something equivalent, in general the ability for a mage to don heavy plate and use weapons as a talent-skill-spec-whatever. Saying that, i'm not after something broken, i just want the ability to play something that is aesthetically pleasing for me. You took that away in DA2, along with other things, and i would like to see it back.

In general, i would like a break-away from this "typical warrior, typical rogue, typical mage" thing you did in DA2. I found it awful, and i also find it unfair for people that like Blood Mages to see their spec being always in, while people like me that prefer mage-warriors that can wear heavy plate(aka something like an Arcane Warrior) can only play it in Origins and you suddenly take it away.

1. Different playable races.
2. Party Banter
3. Open world
4. Hidden quests/ gifts/ etc, not everything so incredibly obvious
5. DA2 combat system with healing on a shorter cooldown.  I loved the leaping rogue attack.

1) A reduction in the number of spiders
2) Fewer spiders.
3) No spiders.
4) Do not let the open world theme detract from a compelling main story.
5) Do not include spiders in the game.

 1. Character depth and detailed romances(maybe Cullen as a LI?????) (including more party banters and maybe an area like camp in DA where you can talk to your companions and have discussions on what's going on, personal life, etc..) Please for the love of the Maker remove the DA2/ME3 conversation wheel. I absolutely HATED it, I rather conversations like DA:O where what was clicked is what was ACTUALLY said and you weren't persuaded into a certain direction based on the 'manner' in which you said things.

2. Consquences based on DA & DA2 (perhaps an explanation on what happens to The Warden & Hawke??)

3. Large areas to explore with a good amount of side quests

4. Customization in armour and weapons for companions and main character

5. Returning characters or at least slides in the beginning telling us what happened to the ones we won't see

or there should be a massive vacuum cleaner as a special weapon (or a special spell! who hasn't heard of the "vacuum cleaner of doom" spell??) which just soaks them in all at once :bandit:

Not sure if I've posted on this thread before, so here goes. >_>

1: No 'Act' based plotline or framed narrative. This is probably a fault with me rather than the game, but it sort of messed up immersion, and also I didn't like the time skips/fact that you could miss a lot of sidequests because of the acts.

2: Interweave a 'Save da world' plot with a more personal story. Perhaps introduce a personal foe you are given reason to hate early on in the game, and once you overcome your personal issues and become a hero, the personal foe takes the opposite path and becomes a powerful recurring threat siding with the antagonists. This gives you a personal reason to face the foes and retains the 'epic saga' feel of DA:O. I also would find it very interesting to face a personal foe with as much character development and screentime as a companion-I've always felt that Loghain was the best antagonist of the series, and a similar foe with a personal link to you could only be a good thing.

3: Lots and lots of exploration. I love Thedas, and I genuinely want to see lots of it rather than remain confined to one city.

4: Lots of player choice: pretty self explanatory. Dialogue in particular could be majorly improved. I didn't really like how Hawke was essentially one of three people: (s)he should be one person who can portray different outlooks on life and emotions depending on his/her situation, without sounding a little bipolar. No/less auto-dialogue would also be appreciated.

5: A compelling male voice actor for the player. This is obviously very, very subjective, but I never really could identify with male Hawke or Male Shepard (although fem!Hawke and fem!Shep were great). (utterly selfish sidenote: light English accent for the PC would be amazing)

1. In-depth customization. If I want to literally insert myself (or my husband, or someone else I know IRL) in the game, I'd like to be able to get as close as possible. That includes choosing different races again, or even humans *not* from Ferelden or Orlais (an Antivan or Rivaini Warden would be kind of b****in', just saying).

2.
Choices that have actual consequences. I want to feel like I have some say in things, not like I'm being dragged helplessly along by the String of Fate.

3a.
BANTER/interaction. I should be able to talk to my party members at ANY time, not just when we're chilling back at camp/HQ/wherever. Romances fall under this category, too.

- 3b.
I'd also like my party members to take more initiative in conversations. Take my Cousland, for example: she had a horribly-traumatic event drive her to Joining the Wardens (y'know, her entire family being brutally slaughtered) and then going on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge, and did anyone ask about it, or even seem concerned (besides a bit of dialogue in camp with Wynne)? Not really, no. Whereas my Cousland spent most of the time playing Warrior Therapist for everyone else (which, I know, is optional, but that's how she rolls). Would be nice to have that kind of concern returned from my teammates. Party members bringing up things that happened/I did in the other games (note: I've only played Origins at this point; don't own DAII yet) would also be super-ultra-mega-awesome and make for a lot more immersion.

4.
Origins-level plot. That is all.

5.
Reappearing characters, or at least character callbacks. Let's tie the world together (but reasonably-- just because I love Alistair, for example, he doesn't have to show up if it doesn't make any sense for him to be there). This could tie in nicely with the DAO/DAII imports; I made Alistair king and my Cousland queen in my first run, and it would be fantastic to see some mention of that if I imported that character into DAIII. It could even be plot-related, somehow (not sure eactly how, just thinking out loud here).

I've already posted but forgot I mention one more thing. I hope that Bioware concentrates on DA3's campaign only and doesn't add a multiplayer mode if it will interfere with the campaign side. If they wanna add any new modes how about a coop mode where a friend can join in on your campaign as one of your squadmates but the main player (host) still makes all the decisions since its his campaign. You could even have in game dialogue between the players where the host player asks the other player what he thinks he should do regarding a current decision or choice the main player has to make.

I prefer they concentrate on the campaign only first if given enough time then a coop mode would be great but as far as a big multiplayer mode like the online coop mode in ME3 where you battle waves of enemy AI while doing objectives I think that should be done as a separate standalone title or bioware could just do an online dragon age MMO style by itself. I'm ok with buying two games instead of one if it gives the developers more time to make the games the best they can. Plus it gives all fans what they want, the fans who mainly only care about the story and campaign get what they want and the fans who want multiplayer get what they wanted no complaints. Oh yea and Biowre and EA get more money so I think it would be best.

I mean there's endless possibilities and depending whether or not the coop mode would be an offline or online coop mode they could even allow more then one player to  join at a time. How many can join in depends on how many squadmates the host has at the moment in his campaign. Man it would be cool to be on a battlefield with your friends and with them controlling your squad mates instead of AI you don't have to worry about commands and just have fun during battles especially if they were big battles.

Also if they want to create a huge online multiplayer mode why not do so but as a separate game. It can be a spinoff of some sort or whatever don't matter as long as its a separate game altogether so that it doesn't interfere with DA3 and its story/campaign. I think new multiplayer modes sometimes interferes with the development of the campaign side of games and it can effect the quality of the campaign due to splitting staff so that they can work on both sides of the game combined with all the other other pressures and demands that developers get from their publishers while trying to meet the release date and we could get a rushed game.

I actually was listening to hours of the Origins sound track earlier tonight. I haven't played the game in years, but on several occasions the music took me back. I didn't remember any specific battles, I simply remembered feelings that I cared about the characters as we went on an adventure together. They did a tremendous job in that department, as I never cared what happened to characters in a game before. These guys seemed real... hard to explain.

So anyway, #1) Make me care about the characters again. I wanted to in DA2, but something was different. Maybe it was because Hawk was a character and he was voiced, so the perception was that you were just watching the conversation instead of being part of it. I don't know, but something was much different the second time around.

#2) The return of DA:O combat tactics and strategy. I hate games where the combat begins, then 30 guys drop out of the sky. ** ehem DA2 **. It turns into tactic-less, strategy-less run around and hack anything that moves combat. Boring and stupid. If I see 10 darkspawn, I'd like to devise a plan to take them out. I don't want to implement my plan and then watch 15 more darkspawn crawl out of the ground, and 15 more drop out of trees.

#3) Sound design. There is no substitute for good sound design. The camp ground in DA:O comes to mind as being a good example. The music, the ambient sounds, the crackle of the fire, it was well done. And of course, the soundtrack is vital as well.

#4) Deeper interactions with the characters. This relates to my #1.

#5) Open world would be great. But as long as it doesn't feel closed in and extremely linear like ME3 felt, I'm fine with it.

1) Being able to decide what race to play as
2) A range of romance options
3) Being allowed the complexity of choices like in the first game
*for example, when i was able to decide to destroy the sacred ashes,
then defeat the cult, but leave the dragon alive, ect.*
4) Being able to pick sides and not being forced to fight people i agree with
5) Being able to see the consequences of my actions.

1) A fixed party - i.e. I have to choose who I want in my group and leave the others behind. Those I leave behind won't spend the entire game standing in camp and magically levelling up. It will make the game much more replayable because I can choose different party options.

2) Gear which actually is interesting and could potentially last the game. DA2 equipment was pretty boring because I knew that I'd be upgrading it in a few levels no matter what. BG2, for example, had much more interesting equipment - some stuff from the start could last a long time, but there were still interesting new pieces of gear to get.

3) Decisions from a previous game actually making a difference. A dream I know because it would make DA3 way too complicated with too much content that nobody would see.

4) Fights not consisting of multiple waves magically appearing from nowhere. I'm okay with this happening occasionally, but not every single fight.

5) Some kind of urgency in the game. So I feel that I need to get things completed by a certain time. If I need to urgently investigate a kidnapping, this shouldn't mean I can go clear out the bone pit, sundermount and darktown before getting round to looking into the kidnapping. If this means I can't do every single quest on my playthrough then I'm fine with that - gives me a reason to replay the game.

1) Party banter. It hasn't failed me so far.
2) For the party members I don't take to do something useful or interesting on at least a few missions. That always drives me mildly crazy. Why DON'T I take Aveline and Fenris and Varric and Sebastian all at once? Can I have a reason? Was Aveline doing her nails that day? If I leave her behind, will she take Bethany and Anders on adventures with Merril and Isabella?
3) A main character who fails on occasion, who isn't super-awesome numero uno, who struggles and needs help from the party.
4) Re-occurring characters, from this game and previous, with a sense of consequence and continuity. It should feel like time actually passes and things change in the game.
5) Nathaniel Howe and Aveline. Please?

1.) No pre-defined character. I'm fine with voice and a picked surname, but let me choose if I have siblings or stuff like that. (I actually like blank slate characters like the warden. They may be less lifelike, but it makes it much easier to roleplay for me.)

2.) Different locations/environments. In DA2 I never liked doing sidemissions because every place I'd go to looked the same. Give me pretty places!

3.) Ending slides, much like in Origins. I know it won't really have an impact on a possible next game but I want to know what happened to all of my companions and my character because of the choices I made.

4.) MORE DIALOG OPTIONS seriously like someone said above Hawke was just one of 3 basic personality types and mixing them felt so awkward to me. And better paraphrasing. Please.

5.) More tactical combat, and maybe set the difficulty level a bit higher? Personally, I'm horrible at combat, but DA2 felt so easy to me. And at the highest difficulty level it got boring again because it was just slash slash slash at the same bandit for an hour.

1. The return of Morrigan and her child and a conclusion to the plotline involving the child becoming an old-god as well as a conclusion to Flemeth's storyline.
2. The return of Hawke and the Hero of Ferelden as referenced to by Leiliana at the end of DA2 (it would be awesome if they were actually playable). Bethany as a Grey Warden (if that choice was made).
3. No plot holes (though that's difficult to accomplish given the branching outcomes from previous ingame choices made).
4. More focus on fantasy rather than politics (the old god mysticism rather than mages vs. templars) though that'll be difficult given the name of the title Inquisition.
5. Fewer enemies than DA2 yet more difficult (no endless spawning) or recycled dungeons.

Top 5 things I'd love BW to do
1.) Exciting combat like in DA2, everything else please change back to formula from DA origin
2.) What ever caused the variation between ME1 ----> ME2 and DA1----->DA2 ... don't do that again
3.) see #1
4.) I'll be happy if you just follow number one, and if you can add a new story, new characters, gear would also be a nice bonus.... but... really all I want is to play a BW game that feels like a BW game again.
5.) IF you already have broke it.... and DA3 is going to feel like ME3 .... it's still ok... Give me Jade Empire 2 and I'm a loving fan once more :)

1. Good, in depth, intriguing story line.
2. Lots of side quests (though not OTT [like Skyrim and it's never ending ones, it gets dull after 80 or so])
3. More conversation with companions on a regular basis
4. No recycled areas, some good old creativity in each area please. (I liked DA2 but the recycled areas made it boring at times, and I got so sick of looking at the bloody Wounded Coast!)
5. Similar combat style to DA2 with more strategy added in (I loved DA2's combat but having more strategy needed would have been even better)
