1. More character interaction. To be more specific, I missed the way in which I could sit in camp and talk up a storm with choice characters, and that it led to an entire story arc where I could engage in. DA2 had this to an extent, but they streamlined it too much for my taste.

2. Wider variety of armor types. Not everyone likes to wear a man dress (mage). Not everyone likes to dress manly as a woman (warrior).

3. More fleshed out dungeons and story; referring to the lack of these in DA2.

4. A sense of an origin story. I know this is a small probability but I really, really enjoyed having a pre-hero's story. It made me feel grounded in a specific culture in Thedas.

5. Once again, may not happen, but I'd prefer to have the ability to change my race. I really miss being a Dalish Elf....If this means that we are the silent character again, I can totally live with that.

1. bigger world (like in DA1, DA2 feelt to confined)
2. great story lines with many choices that can affect your gameplay and story.
3. large character creation choice. (aka, race, background etc. to give the player a feel that your character is uniqe)
4. characters from previus games to show up in one way or another to feel connected to the story.
5. costumization on the skills, let us chose what we want to be, let us not be confined by mage, warrior etc.

Here's a crazy crazy one. If I *REALLY* like the Inquisitor, I'd like to have him have a trilogy all around him rather than a new protagonist next game.

1. Return of an Origin story like what DA:O had.

2. Squad customization to a point at least. What BioWare released with their little Blog post almost a year or so ago talking about how squad/party members would have their own clothes but you can add armor pieces to it and such.

3. Some returning characters. Primarily people lie Leliana, Varic, Morrigan, Isabela, and even Zevran.

4. More customization on skills and a better inventory system like what DA:O had. Did not like how barebones the DAII system was.

5. More unique named weapons as well.

1. More customization of your character's personality. I could make Hawke either diplomatic, sarcastic, or aggressive, but with the Warden, I could make them downright EVIL if I wanted to. I LOVED that aspect and thought it really helped develop your character more.

2. Race option. Not going to happen, I know, but it's still one of the top things I'd like to see. Since this is a "no", then I guess I'd just like more species. There were what, two dwarves in the last game?

3. Finding out about Flemeth's involvement. I'm fine with her being all mysterious, but she helps both the Warden AND Hawke? I find that odd? Part of me feels like SHE could be the true main antagonist, for all we know. Just SOME sort of Flemeth conclusion.

4. Bigger connections with Origins. Obviously this is going to be highly related to the second game, since we're all mages vs. templar again, but I'm almost confused as to why we had Origins in the first place, since it seems so unrelated now. I don't know, just something that makes me think: oh, Origins wasn't just some random game that had almost nothing to do with the major plot of the series. I feel that choice and consequence kind of fits in with this one.

5. Accurate epilogues. Cullen kills two mages at the end of Origins and then reappears in DAII because apparently he didn't kill any mages and what we heard in the epilogue of Origins was just a rumor. Huh?

Oh, and patches. Patches would be nice. I'm still waiting for Alistair to realizes that he's not king, Zevran to realize I'm not dead, for Zevran to remember that he IS dead, etc.

Here's my take, sorry I'm a little long-winded:

1) I would like to see the origin system of choosing a race and/or background because it'd be interesting to know whether the character becoming Inquisitor is a blessing or a punishment. Is a human Circle Mage looking for a chance at redeeming him/herself and all Circle Magi everywhere, is heading the Inquisition the Divine's idea of an ironic punishment for an impetuous Dalish elf, or is Burkel's most devout convert hell-bent on crushing every last mage on the planet? The more interesting the main character's background, and the more it truly effects the decisions the player can make, the greater a stake the player has in his/her connection the character and how they play the game.

2) There should probably be a little more gray-scaling of choices, particularly major plot choices. Dragon Age: Origins had an interesting talent for making the decisions you thought were unequivocally right not turn out the way you expected them to, but there were still a few too many choices that were too obviously evil or too obviously good and not a lot of gray area in between. No matter what the Inquisition in Thedas means, the word "inquisition" has a certain connotation in our world, and seems like the perfect setting for morally ambiguous situations, characters, and choices.

3) Like everyone else has been saying, we really ought to start seeing some return on the decisions we've made in the previous Dragon Age games. I trust BioWare has been planning this out rather extensively, otherwise Duncan wouldn't begin Origins talking about how the mages supposedly started the first Blight, and we wouldn't have eventually come to the mage-templar civil war we're apparently in now. Still, make us wait too long and we begin to wonder what the purpose of the previous games was.

4) I understand why BioWare decided to streamline the classes in Dragon Age 2, but I think a little more flexibility/crossover among the classes, an open class system, or more starting classes would probably offer more freedom and interesting/enjoyable gameplay (despite rampant min/maxing).

5) A good way to help our decisions seem like they really matter may be to have sort of faction/allegiance system with associated territories, mutually exclusive quest lines, and obviously effects on the overall storyline as a whole, etc.

Again, sorry for being long-winded, I hope at least I've raised some points that others agree with or otherwise haven't beaten too many dead horses.

1. Direct continuations from DAO and DA2

2. Full area view tactical camera like from origins

3. More meaningful companions like from origins not the forgetful DA2 companions

4. Skippable main plot missions that hevily affect the story later on

5. RESOLUTION, dont leave us dissapointed like with Mass Effect 3

Ooh, I don't know if I could choose just five. But, first and foremost:

1. I want to be able to be an Elf or a Dwarf again. I like Humans well enough but my heart lies more in being an Elf. :( And please have the Elves look more like Origins Elves.
2. Fast, showy combat like in DAII. Mage combat, in particular.I loved that they used their staffs in close combat, because that makes sense to me. In Origins they just stood there using their staff as a ranged weapon when the enemy was right in their face. And I loved how they were able to just shoot a spell off quickly out of their hands! :)
3. Companions: Romance! Romance! Romance! Conversation! Conversation! Conversation! I'd like to see the love scenes from Origins back, plus being able to kiss your sweetie in the open world. And I'd like to be able to talk to companions in the open world again, not just at their home, or my character's (if they have one).
4. Dog! Definitely a Dog! I love him more than anyone else, so cute, so sweet (I'm an animal lover, so...) Even if it isn't a Mabari, I still want a dog. :)
5. Ooh...I don't know...A bigger, more wide open world than DAII had.

Also, I did like the idea of my character having a family, someone to worry about other than themselves. I loved Bethany and Carver and the whole family element to the story. Give my character a sister or a brother again, I wouldn't mind. :) There are so many but I'll leave these for the moment. I'm off to play Origins. I'm trying to finish a game as a mage, for import into DAII. I like the idea that the Hawkes are her cousins. :) That was cool in DAII too.

As a big lover of Mages and magic and hater of Templars and the Chantry I prefer to believe that it could have been, in actuality, Chantry priests (or just religious zealots of the time) who invaded the Golden City, wanting to be closer to The Maker, and destroyed it. Just as in real life, history is written by the victors, and the truth of events isn't actually, well, the truth. How many mages do the Templars beat and rape on a daily basis and the Chantry lets it happen, believing it's all fine and good because Mages are just evil demons walking around in a mortal body. Even when the Chant of Light says that magic was a gift of the Maker. Kill the ones who use it for dark purposes, but those who don't should be left alone. And murdering Mages' friends and family because they want to see that Mage or know how they are is just evil too. I hated the Chantry and the Templars even more in DAII, I would love to see them burn in Dragon Age III. The Chantry imprisons Mages, beat them, rape them, turn them Tranquil, saying that they can't be considered people because they have access to such destructive powers, but when the Chantry feels the need to murder innocent people because they won't bow down them, take more land, take more power, they take the Mages along and have them cast those powers of destruction at their enemies (supposed enemies, uch, I hate the Chantry). It's usually the only way they win power over anything or anyone, and then they imprison the Mages again, going on and on about how evil they are. Blech! And drugging the Templars so that they can do their bidding against Mages is just wrong too. Blech, again!

6. No more Chantry! The Chantry burned to ashes, never to exist again! I was very disappointed in Leliana at the end of DAII, too, come to think of it. Little zealot. I'm thinking my male Warden should have stayed far away from her in the end.

1.More selectable races, such as: Qunari, Elves, Humans and Dwarves;
2.A kossith (Qunari) female companion and romance option;
3.Decisions in previous games affect story (save importing);
4.A tool (mod) kit;
5.A lot more armors and weapons (particularly unique ones).
My humble wishes, although the first two are most important :)

1. playable different races and within that different classes (minimum option see DA Origin)
2. Different story lines and outcomes for the races and classes as in point 1, so 2nd 3rd playthroughs are actually interesting and not just a repeat, with lots of tough choices players have to make to fight for the outcome/goal they want
3. open world, with quicktravel systems (hopefully without long loading screens), with random encounters as well as story related set encounters
4. Non-linear dungeons (you can't tell me there is only one linear way to go through a cave or a dungeon
5. Let the whole party fight and explore, not only a select few and the rest "stay back in camp", this way player choices effect every game character in the party, and depending on actions like "good", "evil" or "something in between", the characters love, hate or tolereate you. I always felt a bit like a lier when talking to the game mates, you pretent to agree wtih them, but actually the way you act is completely different.

1. Multiple Races to play as (Male & Female). Kossith included if you please.

2. Far larger world than previous games spanning the territories around Thedas. & freedom to roam around all their expansive hub areas.

3. Previous decisions impacting imported games to a greater degree. e.g. If Bethany survived & was in the Circle, she would be a companion choice & maybe L.I for the new P.C. I'm looking for vastly different playing experiences depending on previous choices. Extend this to in-game decisions as well, noticeably changing the structure of the game world depending on player choices, not just single mentions of how events played out with no real weight on npc reactions.

4. Love the combat animations from D.A.2, but maybe expand the areas so players can implement more tactics like people have been asking for, & expand on the class abilities .i.e. Bringing summoning & shape-shifting back for Mages, creating different fight animations for weapons depending on what class is using them.

5. Game-Long class Quests

A: Imagine if a sleeping mechanic was added to the game?

It would cure things like minor injuries & stuff for everyone, but for MAGES...

when you sleep, you can walk around in the fade, speak to benevolent spirits if you meet any & fend off attacks from demons.

They can make a long quest out of it where, since they've added this personality system, once you establish your starting personalities & sleep the 1st time, a particular type of demon will begin stalking you trying to posses you till it culminates at the end of the quest in later stages of the game. The type of demon will be associated with your say, impatient, cocky, angry personalities. Or even Desire if you make too many seductive advances at different people.

In earlier stages it will send minions & things after you when you enter the fade but as you progress in story, the enemies get more powerful.

You may attempt to seek help from benevolent spirits in the fade, but they may require convincing, so perhaps a powerful spirit of mercy like the one that saved WYNNE, may require you to show that YOU are benevolent by solving quests kindly in the real world.

If you fail & you get possesed, you won't be able to tell anyone, but when you try to interact with people or party members, the demon may make conversation decisions for you that you can't control.

Now you could be one of those who willingly seeks one out. In this case, it could teach you Blood Magic or/and live within you. Sometimes when speaking to people it may make a comment in your head as to the decision it prefers. You can talk to it at times if you choose & cutscenes may show companions seeing you talking to yourself. It can, depending on the kind of demon give you some insight to people you speak to, like telling you secrets about them you can use to shock or manipulate them while the conversations goes on.

Maybe when you sleep, a timer begins till you wake up. They can make a section when you have to flee, fight, survive a whole dream sequence till time runs out & you wake.

B: Since Orlais has to be a location in the game, create an extensive 'Intrigue' styled game long quest for Rouges akin to the little they previously did in D.A.O's 'Dark Wolf' & 'Leiliana's Song' & D.A.2's 'M.O.T.A'.

As previously stated, it would be a game-long quest. Make it in-depth & exciting as opposed to scrolls of text telling you about dead-drops to activate or something (& no that wasn't an OBLIVION shot; I love that game).

You could choose who to betray or keep playing all sides during the entire thing. It could involve sneaking through/sweet-talking your way through different fortresses of the factions (Wardens, Seekers, Templars etc) at different times in the game for different reasons.

Which could also make your character privvy to certain secret facts they could use during the main quests.

C: The warrior questline will involve skill. I want it to end with a great tournament fought single-handedly in a grand arena.
But from the beginning, you could duel different powerful opponents through the game as you level up. 1 could take issue with being defeated & keep trying to send assassins/mercenaries to kill you or find other ways to do so.

Perhaps certain abilities can only be learnt by dueling certain opponents. And certain Weapons, Armours & the like can be aquired in the same way.
The choice to spare or kill your opponents after each duel should be up to the player & that can spark more retribution or other consequences down the line.

Maybe if you duel, defeat and slay certain opponents they will be unavailable as commanders of whichever faction they belong to as the Main quest progresses.

So if you duel and kill a grey-warden captain and later in the game you have the wardens on your side in the final conflict, that captain won't be available to lead their forces and defend a portion of the battlefield effectively causing greater losses, perhaps even for one of your companions or a major npc within that area.

Remember that if could work both ways where it may end up being an enemy commander you slew making a rescue more viable.

Well, there's my coppers of thought for the game...Most of them anyway

I'll echo some of the previous comments:

1. Choices that have an impact on the game world, both from DA3 and carried over from DA:O and DA2.
2. Character customization more like DA:O than DA2.
3. Maintain RPG feel of the first two games. I don't want to see this turn into an action RPG, in other words. If I wanted to play Diablo, I'd play Diablo.
4. Returning characters, not limited to NPCs. I'd like to learn the fate of the Warden and the Champion, as they were both hinted at being involved in the events of the Inquisition. I think it would be incredible to be able to actually take them along as party members at some point, especially if they are imported from previous games along with their equipment and skills, etc.
5. class specialization choices from both DA:O and DA2, plus additional choices unique to DA3. I'd love to see the return of the Arcane Warrior, for instance.

1. Carryover from the first two games; characters, choices, events, etc. The first two games should have an impact not just be there in spirit.

2. More tactical play with a deeper story; I beat origins with every race and origin and did so happily; DA2 struggled to keep me interested (I beat it once and haven't touched it since). With this, greater differences between claasses. I want playing a rogue/mage/warrior completely different than the other classes, not just differences in abilities and armor. A dual wield warrior hits harder and has significantly more base health than that of a dual wield rogue; but the rogue hits much faster and more accurately. A "tank" warrior should have more health than a damage based warrior. You could specialize as healing mage, but you don't do as much damage; or be a damager and heal less effectively. I felt the classes and specializations weren't different enough in the first two games.

3. Less morality. "Morality" choices in games is becoming overplayed. I want to make the choices I feel are right, not the hero/anti-hero, paragon/renegade choice.

4. Better/more in depth character customization and creation kit stuff. DAO has tons of user created stuff in all fields and your chracter can be made how you want it. DA2 lacks in all of the above.

5. Companions I care about. DAO had companions you could get into, DA2 had bland personalities on warious bodies. If the dog fits the story he has to be back; bring in new characters, bring back and develop old ones. Your party helps drive your through the tedious parts, but only if they themselves are not part of the tedium.

1. Captivating story

2. An OPTION to have an ending where the protagonist and LI can be together/survive without having to resort letting your LI sleeps with another person (yuck!). I'm not aiming for a grand wedding in the end either. Just a sense of "F*YEAH! We made it!" And don't pull the ME3 ending stunt (I don't mind about the Crucible or starkid, but the coices it presents: protagonist dies and be space dictator - protagonist dies and play God by messing people's DNA - protagonist maybe alive or dead, kills the bad guys but sacrifice a specific race)

3. Good friendship and LI content : you can be good friends and not end up romancing them. Abssolutely adore what BW did with the Citadel dlc. And make the companion noticed about your chosen LI too (I love Lelliana's banter when she asks about my Warden's relationship with Alistair XD man that moment is gold)

4. Is it possible to have a customisable armor / robe like back in the days of Nverwinter Nights (the first one)? :( or at least make cool looking armour / attire and no more of that ugly hats >_<
Is it possible to have tiara's akin to what the elves wear in LoTR?

5. Modding Toolset.. I'm not a modder, but I love mod supported games, because in time the modding community will make some cool additions to the game, like creating unique eye colour, unique armour / attire / weapon style, etc. Granted those are only cosmetics but I appreciate them much anyways ;)

1. The length of the game, I found Dragon Age II a bit short, the longer the game, the better.
2. Making a greater variety of how people respond to you by making our dialogue choices more important.
3. Definitely a bigger character customization, like getting the Voice option back that was in Dragon Age: Origins and being able to modify the character's body build.
4. Fixing the thing with enemies (mostly raiders or any other humanly enemies) just randomly spawning out of nowhere, atleast in Dragon Age II they just appeared out of nowhere.
5. Being able to change companions' armor.

1) Party Banter. I loved listening to my companions chat on a quest. I'd also love for my companions to have more input during dialogue on quests.
2) Companions with more complex backgrounds and side quests. I found DA:O had very developed characters all with their own opinons and would comment on decisions you made during quests. DA2 had characters that felt incomplete.
3) Lots of customization. The ability to change you or your companions armor would be an amazing feature! Similarly with hair styles during the game or letting companions have "set/unlockable" alternate appearances.
4) Continuity with DA:O and DA2. I want to see what my Warden and Hawke are up to as well as their companions (assuming they are living).
5) Improved graphics. Flowing hair and clothing!!!

Dude you just made my day.
But for my top 5 list.
1) Bigger diversity in environments.
2) Qunari/Sarebaas companion.
3) Interaction between my companions.  I liked seeing my companions interact with each other in DA2 outside of party banter.
4) Enemy diversity.  I liked DA2 but it was very repetitive with the enemys.  I got tired of fighting spiders, skeletons, and mercenarys all the time.
5) A chance to really use traps.  I'd really like to see some sort of tower defense like mechanic in the game, at least once.  I like areas that make you have to prepare for upcoming attacks like Redcliffe village in Origins and Dantooine in KotOR 2.  You're always the one doing the invading in Dragon Age, I'd like to see the tables get turned and have us being the ones having to defend from an attack.

Things I think would be great to see.
1)Varric
2)Rogue throwing knives - mid to close range, one or two abilities, no need for an entire branch yet.
3)Inconversational class skills or methods of resolve / Rogue tossing the knife at Feynriel's captor. Utilizing class skills in a greater conversational manner.
4)Companions injecting themselves to a greater extent in dialogue and events. Varric shooting Gascard, or surprising you and changing the entire dynamic of an event.
5)More interesting, varied abilities and results. Synergy.of powers. Combos were fun but could be developed further.

Primarily I would like to play a human barbarian background (+background based clothing choice) or a Qunari protagonist. Thank-you.
