(5) The Black Emporium mirror please. Bring it back. Best part of DA:2 by far. Also more character creator options would be sweet.

I agree. I think the black imporium shoudl re-occur in every installment. It was classic and extreamly useful!

It's my favorite Thedas chain ^_^

One of the things that still bugs me about Dragon Age II was the lack of companion customization. It would be nice to at the very least, have different costumes for the companions that have different attributes and you would have to find these outfits during your adventures. Themes like the standard but balanced suit, the more knight-like suit of armor offering defense, a dark armor offering damage, and then the super suit that offers high damage and high armor. Stuff like that.

1) Choices should matter and have consequences that make it feel different on different playthroughs. I know a lot of people don't even finish one game, and a minority of people play the game twice or more, but catering specifically to people who do not finish the game is a bad idea. I think the reason why is self-evident. Don't underestimate the value of people who play your games 2+ times, they spread word of mouth about how real and developed the choices in the game are.

2) Some kind of non-combat skills to further enhance the roleplaying depth of the game. Obviously our character should have plenty of chocies in conversation regardless of the non-combat skills they choose, but non-combat skills help us flesh out our character further. Persuasion, Lore, Spellcraft, Survival, Alchemy (ability to create improved potions) would be great. I know we are moving away from non-combat skills defining what your character can do, now everyone can brew potions conveniently and be charming etc. That is great. But letting non combat skills enhance how well your PC can do those things would be great.

1. When my character swings a sword, I want it to feel like he's swinging a sword, not slicing through enemies like butter. Crazy fast butter slicing. None of that please. I'm not saying slow slow combat, I honestly didn't mind the combat pacing of DA2, but I want to feel that sword hitting that armor.

2. Combat options like blocking and rolling. I thought I'd have a run on DA2 today after playing on ME3, and I know that they are different games, but I found my self wishing for the option to roll out of attacks, or at least block melee blows. Not powers per say, but if I'm facing a wave of grunts, I'd like to have the option to block their attacks.

3. Duel weapons available across the board. I'd like for my warriors to be able to carry dual swords and for my mages to carry a sword or shield along with their staff. If I have sacrifice some points in magic to do this, so be it.

brushyourteeth wrote...
Blood magic explored in more detail (it's powerful? show me. You can control minds? show me. Demons slowly creep past your defenses? show me.) and recognized by NPC's when you or companions use it.

^ I'll take this as my number four. I'd love for the type of warrior/mage/rogue I play to be commented on in game. If I'm using blood magic for the first time in front of my companions, lets hear if they have anything to say about it.

5. And finally, like many people, I want a great story. I'm investing time and money into this game, I want to feel the same feeling as when I put down a great book, or when I finish watching an epic movie. I'd take this everytime over anything else.

Here goes:

- would like class origin story included in da3. Believe it was mentioned before and find that it would be a good substitute for a race origin story. Just make sure that each class origin is different to the extent that a male rouge origin is different than the female rougue origin.

- can you extend a personal story line to each class that expands throughout the game. In other words not only an origins story but a quest based on class and gender? Think that would be cool.

- a more fleshed out love story, felt it was too rushed in da2.

- in battle make us have an impact on the environment, example would be awesome if we can are running from an ogre, or multiple ogres and we use a pillar or wall to hide behind and suddenly the ogre rams and breaks through the wall or pillar. or us destroying a bridge that has multiple archers with magic etc.

- implement some of the stuff you guys accomplished in legacy and mota. Those dlc were awesome and worth the money.

- bring back Cory and architect. Need to end or expand their storylines.

- can this protagonist not be saved by flemeth at the beginning of the game? I keep thinking eventually one of our protagonist will not be and he/she will be putting a dent in her plans!

- last one, more enchantment! :)

- oh and

5. Cameos. Cameos. Cameos.

Not going to lie, I fully respect your opinion but... This is my idea of hell. Cameo appearances for the sake of it do nothing but shatter a player's perception of previous titles.

Companions returning for the sake of continuity, such as Sebastian Vael's story finally being finished(No, I'm never going to stop)? Sure, I have no problem with that - If they're open ended, bring them back as a big name NPC and wrap up their story.

But cameos? Are they really necessary for anything but fan service?

My top 5 things for DA3 are

1. A strong story that does not feel as scattered as previous games.
2. Wonderful companions that truly make you care about completing the game.
3. Satisfying conclusions to the LI plot, no more LI leaving the PC (like in Origins).
4. Good and satisfying tactical gameplay on consoles (and PCs).
5. A more satisfying set up for all classes. No nerfing certain classes and overpowering others (I'm looking at you Mages in Origins and Rogues in 2).

This list is exactly what DA3 clearly needs MORE THAN ANYTHING else:

1. An equipable giant war hammer made out of simple Dutch pastry.
2. A romanceable companion called Paddy the Exploding Tofu, who is a pack of eco-frienldy tofu which can explode, has the voice of Patrick Stuart, has a mexican mustache and a Parrot called Dave.
3. Return of killmoves.
4. Have the option of destroying Thedas by dropping a cosmic marshmellow on it.
5. Nevarra in all it's splendour!

Does a spreadsheet count as taking notes? Or do I need to go grab a pad and pen?

 1.  Unique looks for the squadmates
2. more varied locations I would love to see numerous different locations
3.  The Fex
4. Environments that change over time depending on your choices.
5. A new level up system.  DA 2 was alright cause i could increase numerous attributes at the same time but i always wanted to be able to get more point to level them up

So hard to come up with strictly 5.  Image IPB
  • More connection to DAO/DA2 with choices that matter rather than being an afterthought.  Maybe even appearances by our Warden and Hawke rather than just mentioning them in passing.  A voiced Warden can be pulled off since Revan from KotOR went from unvoiced there to voiced in SWTOR.  Also went from gender (and appearance) unspecified to male between the two games, but that's another matter.  Image IPB
  • More appearances of old companions or at least what they've been up to.  Loghain, Shale, Sten, etc.  This includes the Awakening companions (Nathaniel, Sigrun, etc) as well as the DLC ones like Talis, Finn, etc.  Would rather not have the "appear and *poof*" for old companions, though.  Would be nice if they stuck around at least for an entire act so we can chat with them from time to time.  Maybe get quests from them, but no "cutscene and run" cameos.  Image IPB  Our companions are heroes right along with us and should be out in the world with us, not going invisible after their appearance and you never see them again.
  • Ability to romance not only companions but also NPCs (broadens the options considerably Image IPB).  At least allow for a short trist (not just a one night stand) with an NPC that doesn't effect a companion relationship ... much.  A companion love interest could question the NPC romance or ignore it depending on their character.  Or the player can try to hide any infidelity from their romantic interest leading to them possibly getting busted later and a big argument.  Image IPB
  • Better romances.  No Anders vs Fenris again.  They reminded me too much of dogs fighting over a female in heat.  Image IPB  And actions speak louder than words.  SHOW the relationship rather than just talk about it.  Can't they have the odd date, a stolen kiss, the occasional hug, a random moment where they hold hands?  Relationships don't have to be focused on the more sexual aspect to be a relationship.  Maybe have the odd romance related quest where you only take your love interest somewhere to fight something, then have banter between the player and companion strictly related to that quest.  Kind of an inside joke between the two or something that other companions may question.
  • More interactions between companions.  Let them form their own rivalries and friendships that the player can either encourage or discourage as they see fit, then have those relationships effect elements of the story like one companion leaving if they really hate another one rather than a companion leaving just because of interactions with the player.  If two companions are friends, maybe that could give them a buff to their attacks if they're both in the party while two that hate each other may intentionally either avoid each other or try to undermine the other one.  Like maybe a mage who really hates a warrior purposefully sets off a fireball near the warrior to knock them down or maybe the mage is purposefully slower to heal the warrior.  The game shouldn't strictly revolve around the player.  There is no I in team.  Image IPB

I'll bite

1. Full party member customization. If characters MUST have an iconic appearance, please restrict it to several armor sets (3-5) that can only be worn by a specific character. ex. Morrigan's robes and the Robes of possession could only be worn by Morrigan.

2. Combat slower and more tactical. Between DA:O and DA2 for speed, no Zapp Branigan (correct me if it is spelled wrong) style waves, and return of the tactical camera. Also party members able to move around obstacles instead of trying to break it apart with their head or shield.

3. Options to pick the PC's race, If the PC can only be 1 race, please do not make it human. If it can't be done with a voiced protagonist, leave him/her silent.

4. Larger world map and more areas/cities/dungeons to visit and explore.

5. Pants for mages and early level rogues. It was hard to believe Hawke (either gender) fought at Ostagar wearing only a leather vest and a mini skirt and mages do not need robes or dresses, especially if they want to blend in and avoid detection.

bonus suggestions

6. The return of non-combat skills.

7. More ways to complete quests than "just kill 'em all".

8. Companion interactions are more like they were in DA:O.

9. Dual-wielding for warriors and single weapons style for rouges.

1. For all love interests to be available to the protagonist regardless of gender, the way it was done in DA2
2. More significant characters of color with varied and developed roles in the story as well.
3. Agreeing with multiplayer being kept separate from single player, no War Asset type stuff p l e a s e.
4. Variety in body types and sizes. Ideally for everyone including the PC, but if not at least for companions and other NPCs.
5. Increased reactivity to player's actions and quest lines. For example, characters reacting to the PC being a blood mage, or reacting to quests that they should have strong opinions on. It was improved in DA2 but characters were still conspicuously silent at times.

(6. I WANT FEMALE DWARVES BACK. PREFERABLY A COMPANION OR SOMETHING. :crying:)

My top 5 wishes:

1. Ability to select a race [and/or backstory] for the PC.
2. Colors! The world is bright and beautiful, even in the ****tiest of times. Additionally, if DAIII has time gaps have this reflect in the seasons. It should not be eternal summer.
3. Tone down the 'anime' tonal-shift the series underwent. IE; giant swords, summersaults, ect. There's nothing wrong with this kind of style, but there is a time and place for it. I don't feel DA is that place.
4. More meaningful romances. Don't play to archetypes. Don't have dead wives or husbands or girlfriends. Surprise me. More strong character driven romances like Garrus, or Morrigan. Have the romance evolve as a part of the story, not a strange detour. Less melodrama if possible.
5. More meaningful friendships. Have some quiet time with your party as a whole. DAO had some scenes at the campfire, ME1 had group meetings. More of a 'together' feel.

*6. This is just for me: Horses! Almost every media about DA has horses, talks about horses. It seems odd that there are NO horses ever shown.
***7. Also outsource your hat creation department. Bioware, we have been through many games together. The reign of terrible hats needs to come to an end.
