I realised I only have one. Oh I could list a whole bunch of things I'd prefer, but looking back on the previous games there's a thing that Bioware does better than anyone else and is the reason I either remember or forget their games:

1. Moments of Moral Quandry.

You know, to sacrifice short people for war engines or not. To side with Tuvok or the hairy dudes (or in that case, resolve it all cleanly, which was less fun). I remember them all from DA:O. The game and world seemed built around them. Some where weaker than others, but they all had their merits.

I really only remember the one from DA2. I assume their were more, but lord knows now. But it was built around a really big one, a real corker at the core of the plot. But it turned out we had to pick sides between competing groups of unreasonal pricks, rather than really consider the complex morally involved.

These are the things I buy Bioware games for. The rest is a bonus in my book.

1) long hair. REAL long hair and not just the updos, buns and braids we always get. Flowing, long, beautiful hair. i know it's a matter of animation and having the pixels collide/clip but that honestly doesn't bother me. what does bother me is that im stuck picking between a lot of different hairstyles i really just don't like.

2) great family interactions. that was something that really stood out. my first protagonist was a cousland warden and i loved her story with parents and her brother. it really gave depth to her. imagine my delight (and dismay further down) when i found mamaHawke was the same voice. it really connected the two games and my two protagonists for me. my siblings were also a great source of amusement and joy for my playthroughs. if this could be replicated (the feeling, not so much the situation) i think it would be another plus for the game.

3) more appreciation for male beauty. yeah, i said it. i know there is going to be a lot of nay sayers and complainers but it is a suggestion thread right? there's just a lot of female beauty appreciation/fanservice so maybe a little more for the people on the other team would be nice too. it doesn't need to be a lot, and it can be something that a player has to go out of their way to find or get but the option would be nice. While perverted and naked are two types that are highly appreciated, it doesn't necessarily need to be that way, either.

4) Better inclusion of people of color and LGBT community. I really do appreciate Bioware taking steps towards this and realize it has to be difficult and tight rope to walk. I'm not trying to sound like I'm scolding you or trying to make controversy but it's probably not something you guys realized was an issue until players pointed it out.  I'm glad you aren't backing down from the challenge though. It would be nice to see more inclusion in squadmates and NPCs (important and nonimportant ones). I would also just like to take this request one step further and ask that when you are deciding the less-than-happy things to put in the game, I know you guys think of the character before the race/gender first, but i think a lot of players won't. I think they don't because a character is presented to them as already established whereas you guys might see them as a work in progress, if that makes sense? Either way once the character is presented, a lot of players will idenfy with them on the bases of race, gender or sexuality so will end up taking things really personally if they see/preceive a pattern - even if it was unintended/for the sake of the story/etc.

On a more personal level, I'd like to see more people of Asian ethinicity. I don't think I can recall a party member or important NPC that was asian - male or female. (No, I have not had the oppertunity to play Jade Empire.) I'm referring to your more current titles, of course. To be fair I haven't played ME 2 or 3 so I'm not sure if there is one in there. I know for facial features in DA and ME there was one eyeset that could be used to make "asian eyes" but it just seemed really exaggerated. (Sorry) There was one set of eyes on the female PC creator that was really pretty in TOR though and a lot of people gave compliments on my scoundrel for her cuteness while recognizing her ethinicity so good job there. =]

Apologies if I said anything that may have upset the staff. I was not my intention.

5) A dark haired male love interest in the dragon age series. So far they have all been blond, except Fenris who is white (could that count as platnium?). The psuedo-romance with Cullen is a ginger, or at best dirty blond/light brown??? I'm not sure. Then we have Sebastian who is a ginger. Preferably black hair, and warm brown eyes. Closely followed by green eyes.

Not necessarily that I'll want this to appear for DAI, since we all know DAI's story is more or less set, but I'd love to see this come to fruition at some point in the DA franchise.

I want an antagonist or a person of the an age long past that who is/was so reviled that history would paint such a person permanently in a negative judgment, even to the eyes of the player. Slowly, however, through the journeys from the eyes of the protagonist, revelations of the truths and myths about the said person would bear a different viewpoint that casts doubt in the player. In the end, not only our views of that person will have completely reversed to the opposite of the original perspective, the protagonist will do what that person has done to earn such an unforgiving reputation, in order to save the world.

The castle to start with basically nothing
To have to fill it up with people and stuff myself
To be able to have who and what fills it be different from playthrough to playthrough
(but for it to be able to get completely full in each playthrough)
I am seriously hyped about this castle

I would really like it to have a lot of the things that made Origins so awesome. I liked the 2nd one, but it was WAY too short and had some things that were missing. Therefore some of the things are:
Background and choice of race
The romance and more romance scenes/choices (maybe even make a family)
Return of characters- including an option to cleanse Anders and to marry Cullen, and the dog
Most important is to bring Fenris back or at least Gideon Emery because he has the sexiest voice EVER!

1. I want the important details of my characters in Da1 and DA2 to be able to be loaded into the game for continuity, regardless of what console I played on before and which console I play use to play DA3. For instance I want it possible to load my playthroughs from my 360 onto say a ps4.
2. multiple beginnings and multiple possible endings. I want to be able to affect the story as much as I could in DA1, not simply choose one of two endings which are practically the same.
3. I want to be able to engage in conversations with my companions at any time as I could in DA1.
4. I want the world map to be huge, and be able to revisit both non-combat areas and a few areas where I will be sure to find something to kill.
5.I want to be able to cross classes, for instance fight with a sword as a mage without it being a disadvantage. DA1 did this extremely well with that prticular combination, but in DA2 I didn't even have the option of using a sword as a weapon, and instead I chose my staff based on appearance fist and stats second and compromised the dps of my character until I found another staff to my satisfaction

1. More dialogue/conversations with companions
2. Better armor or Mage robes
3. Slower combat/ finishing kills
4. Long amazing plot (but that's a given)
5. Better, deeper romance

I would want what my protagonist did to matter.
In DA2 nothing that hawke did mattered.
No more of that stuff.

This isn't the right thread, but I don't know where else to ask: Could we get a "lore questions" subforum or master thread or something? Some place where we can ask questions not particular to any of the games but about Thedas in general?

Like, I'd be stoked if someone could tell me where Jainen Tower is, or if Dwarves can interact with magical objects. Kind of flailing around over here in tabletop land and the Wiki/WoT doesn't have what I need to know.

You might start a thread in the off topic section, if you're asking about the board game.
If it's about lore there was a thread a couple of weeks back about the people who are helping Gaider develope the lore. I will look for it.

Clearly you need to fill out your resume to sound more Gaider-assistant worthy.

The ability to multiclass. It adds such a lot of flexibility to character creation, and I've always preferred breadth of skills to pure power. The Arcane Warrior spec added this to DA:O to some degree (essentially a warrior mage), but I'd love to see more of it, including specialisations that you can only take if you have skills from more than one tree.

I want it to support - or at least not explicitly exclude/ruin - traditional role play.

I don't give a F* for the details of the rest. I totally trust Bioware to make a beautiful, good and enjoyable game regardless whatever the mechanics are. It's always the whole that matters. You can't go making a list of points, like "if it has autohealing - I will not like it". That's just stupid and narrowminded. Clean your slate. It's a new game.

Would love:
1. Returning squad mates from DAO & DA2 in the positions you left them in previous games. Also the choice to choose some squadmates over others instead of forced to have a group you don't use, like having 7 slots for team mates to join you & all previous squadmates to chose from to fill in spots or to allocate them in places you'll need them. Don't want a ME3 cameos, just to have them back, cause those friendships matter, though it has been a long time, so some things should change for them. No frozen in time after DA2.

2. Better looking and more locations to explore, even countries if it's possible. Trailers indicate a big ass invasion, it would be nice to deal with more countries, even visit the Imperium, Orlais, possibly Antiva and Qun homelands and get involved in helping a squad mate native to that land with saving it. [Would also like to see native animals to these lands wandering about for random battles & males and females + children seen living in appropriate locations.]

3. More physical customization and return of racial selection, forced to be human with family I didn't care about was a no. Loved the different interaction that you had with people around Fereldan because of different race and might change up ending to be a certain race saving another. Eg Dwarf saving Qunari.. Love to see the weird 'Thank you' ceremony there.

4. Good inventory and codex, flipping through huge inventories is a pain in the ass, need a armory at your base camp or something, so you have quick choice. And maybe the chance to chose where you camp, in locations you're visiting, instead of camping outside town, or staying in separate locations across cities.

5. Improvement of combat, no taking damage by axe swing when you have run out of range of attack.

I thought of a number two that felt important enough to add:

2: Tactical combat.

My favourite thing about either of the combat setups was the NPC "tactics" system. To the extent that I would have prefered the ability to turn off control of a character altogether, and pit my predefined tactics against the situations the game could throw at them. So I want to see that, and further depth and complexity of the options within. Tactical party based combat? Gosh, yes please.

There is one more thing I would like to see in DAI - an additional character trait for our Protagonist we can establish during Character Creation - his sexuality. Just one more choice among others: background (origin), sex (male\\female), sexuality (straight\\gay\\bi).

It can even be an achievement - play Inquisitor as gay\\lesbian or as bi. And this way all potential LI will be set appropriately without any chance of "ninjamancing" or anything.

a couple of things:

a robust toolset for modding.

more quests like the juggernaut armor quest in DA1

bring back friendly fire on the default difficulty. im replaying DA1 and forgot how much of a dynamic that can bring.

/facepalm

Is it that big of a deal to get flirted by the same sex ? I mean seriously, the way you guys go on whinning and butthurt you would think you got excluded from a job, called names, teased, tied to a fence or something. A flirt you have to decline, the horror!!

Grow up please. You have no idea what it is to be oppressed by your sexuality. <_<

May be it's time for you to grow up a bit and stop throwing tantrum every time someone mentions gay relationship outside direct phrase "GIVE US MORE"? May be you can even learn to read posts you are unswerving to?

Acknowledging PC sexuality would be the next step for BW on the way to welcoming gay people to their games (as they claim they do). Yet such a simple flag system would calm down those who is strongly against anything gay-related. And also gives variety of LI options if resources are limited. (Additional achievements also never hurt, and additional replayability as well)
