1. Choices with unforeseen consequences. I remember an early video from DA:O when they talked to the Quartermaster in Ostragar and completed the Hungry Deserter quest to show how your origin choice and moral outlook would affect the world. When demonstrating you could kill the deserter, they mentioned the choice could come back to the haunt the player later. It would have been absolutely amazing if someone at the Landsmeet had survived Ostragar and testified regarding your treatment of the prisoner.

There is one more thing I would like to see in DAI - an additional character trait for our Protagonist we can establish during Character Creation - his sexuality. Just one more choice among others: background (origin), sex (malefemale), sexuality (straightgaybi).

It can even be an achievement - play Inquisitor as gaylesbian or as bi. And this way all potential LI will be set appropriately without any chance of "ninjamancing" or anything.

/facepalm

Is it that big of a deal to get flirted by the same sex ? I mean seriously, the way you guys go on whinning and butthurt you would think you got excluded from a job, called names, teased, tied to a fence or something. A flirt you have to decline, the horror!!

Grow up please. You have no idea what it is to be oppressed by your sexuality. <_<

There is one slight issue I have...  not everyone in the world is bisexual as it seems BioWare is going with your companions for this game.  There are some out there that are one or the other and It would be a way to acknowledge this fact.

I am only looking for a few things

1. The ability to develop and learn more about your character by being able to talk to your NPC's without a "mission". This was heavily missed from the first game. I want to TALK to my characters whenever I want.

2. The return of characters from both games. Mass Effect has spoiled me. Sure, I want some new characters, but I rather learn more about the ones I have already learned to love and grow fond of. A lot has happened since the 5th blight - I wanna know what has happened to my comrades!

3. I just want a good story. A story that is full of angst and that touches the lives of each of my NPCS. I want to feel like I have a "purpose" in the game. Being the Hero of Felderan is a lot better of a title than the Champion of Kirkwall.

4. I might get a lot of hate for this, but I dislike this "every character is Bi thing". I don't mind having Bi characters or 100% gay characters - I actually prefer that, but when you make anyone in the game "lovable", you diminish the realistic factor that Bioware has been able to provide in their games. Sometimes in life the person you like is just not into you.

5. Better love scenes.... LOL

1. Choices with consequences: I would love to see wide ranging consequences to the protagonists decisions and actions. These consequences do not necessarily have to be of an epic nature, they can be as simple as not being able to romance a character if your character is not consistent with their beliefs eg. Templar romancing a blood mage. I would like the characters and storyline to acknowledge who the main character is along with their actions, put simply who you are and what you do should be consistently influencing the game

2. Tactical Combat. I loved the setting up of tactics in DAO and this was improved upon in DA2 however there were times when tactics became broken. I think the phrase I used the most during DA2 was “Anders What @#~? are you doing” (Yes I talk to myself while gaming). I would love to see the tactics polished as this was an element of the game I loved

3. I’d like to see improved character interactions, basically more then “Merril wants to speak with you”. I’d also like to see characters that aren’t afraid not to hero worship the main protagonist. Not all companions have to be loyal, or good, or anything……….let’s throw out the “Rulebook”

4. I’d like to see real options for our squad make-up. In DA2 I hated Anders which I’m fine with, but because he was the only healer I ended up dragging him around regardless, I would have liked another option, either another healer or the ability to change one of the other mages into a healer. Also on Nightmare friendly fire makes it practically impossible to have Fenris and Isabela in the same squad, because he’ll know the be-jesus out of her. We should be able to instruct companions to not use specific skills via the tactics screen where friendly fire can occur

5. Finally I’d like to see more conversation options then Good – Sarcastic – Bad. I find it pigeon holes the main character and makes him somewhat one dimensional, I’d like more range in answers to be able to give my character a true personality

The ability to choose if your left or right handed. Its a small thing but come on, if its an RPG its wopuld be good to have that kind of detail in it.

I'm going to have to call BS on this. It isn't good-sarcastic-bad. It's diplomatic-jokester-aggressive.

Really ? Good/Sarcastic/Bad or Diplomatic/Jokester/Agressive it doesn't really matter, the point remains the same. I want more then three variants for my character irrespective of what label you put on them

  • More spell/talent options. I liked DA2's talent trees, but I wasn't satisfied with only having access to a total of about four spells per basic spell tree. Plus, I despised only having access to a grand total of two ice spells and neither of them were Blizzard, which I believe would have looked fantastic with DA2's animations. I don't think this is going to be too much of a problem in Inquistition seeing as the gamepley demo showed Vivienne using several different ice spells, I just wanted to throw this out there so no one would think abouty changing it. lol
  • New specializations, not old favorites. While I understand that specs like Blood Mage and Templar are basically sure to return, I would like to see some new and interesting specs as well. I don't care to reuse specs like Arcane Warrior, Shapeshifter, Duelist, etc. I want something fresh and new. In DA2 they gave us Force Mage; it was new and interesting and I would like them to do something similar in Inquisition. After all, this is a sequal, not a revamp.
  • New and interesting characters. I don't want a party of old favorites, I want a party of new folks to get to know. Cameos by former companions are cool and fun, but I don't want them in my party, Varric is enough. Don't get me wrong, I love Varric, but that's one less slot in my party for some new, intrigueing individual. Honestly, I could do without Cassandra as well. She wasn't a main character or party member in DA2, but she was seen and heard enough, not to mention she had her own movie, that she feels like a returning character instead of a fresh face. Still though, there's plenty to learn about her and she is genuinely interesting on her own. Cullen, who I feel shares this category with Cassandra, would not be a good companion; he's well known already and not nearly as interesting.
  • Let mages have more weapons and armor. I've already read somewhere that mages are going to able to wear all the way up to heavy armor, which is fantastic because I got tired of wearing a dress after the first ten minutes of Origins as a mage. Now all I need is to hear that mage's can use something besides a staff. I like staves, really I do, but after two games of basically nothing but these weapons I think it's time for mages to branch out, even if that means a floating spellbook of doom. I don't care how its done, brand new weapons for mages or simply letting them use swords, I just want some awesome variety.
  • An awesome, epic story. I don't think I need to state this as Bioware is pretty good at this already in my opinion, but I did feel the need to go ahead and throw it out there as a polite reminder.

1: A good chance for customized parties. I don't want to take the same people with me every run because say only one person can become a healer.
2: I want a dog again (but maybe not as a full fledged party member)
3:Interior as well as exterior customization of our keeps
4: Qunari ladies to be very tall
5:The ability to get benefits from the villages/towns near my keeps

1. Post-campaign gameplay like Mass Effect 2, with everyone in Thedas recognizing what I, the inquisitor, have done to make everything alright again.

2. Party members can initiate romance with each other. I don't want to be the only one romancing in my team. I sort of like the Garrus and Tali bit in ME3, hell even Kenneth and Gabby were great in ME3. I want one of those in DA:I

3. I want to have a cutscene, like a 5 to 7-minute video, not just a picture slide-show with paragraphs on the side, at the end showing the fate of the prominent characters in the game.

Especially the Inquisitor, Warden, and Hawke, and their respective romanced partners. Not necessarily having them walking towards the sunset with their partners, but at least close their stories with their partners beside them.

Everything else seems to look great. I watched the gameplay videos and it looks stunningly brilliant. It sort of reminds me of Witcher 2 with the camera angle and the action gameplay element, but it looks great. Good job.

Edit: Are the guys in charge seriously going to read every single suggestion on here? Surely there are some patterns, but there are a lot of us here. Hopefully someone who can make a difference in the game can skim through mine.

4- A longbow that isn't crap.

5- More F*cking dragons... Come on, it's the dragon age!

1). I think that a more Origin's-esque type of background customization would be a great addition. When I played Origins, I felt more attached to my character and the world experienced within the game than I did in Dragon Age II. In Origins, I was able to establish my own starting point, but in the DA2 the background story is already established. I feel that when an RPG creates a concrete background for the customizable character it takes away from the immersion element of the game. I love Bioware's games and I love their stories. But, in comparison to Origins and DA2, I felt like part of the personalized aspect present in Origins was lacking within the latter.

2). This isn't a huge game changer, but larger text I feel is a must. It was honestly really frustrating when I was trying to read the talent and ability descriptions for the multiple skill trees and I could barely make out every other word. Also, the tips or little tid-bits that show up on the loading screens were always interesting to read. Unfortunately, I can't even read them in DA2 because the text is so small. Please Bioware, I beg of you, larger text. Or, the option in the gameplay menu to customize the text sizing. Please. Please. Please.

3). The ability to use as many health potions during in-game combat as I want. The cool down period for the health potions was extremely frustrating. Sometimes, the only thing keeping from death is a couple health potions...but if I can only drink one every 10 seconds or so...well...it's just bad news bears.

4). I think it would be really awesome and innovative if the ability to create cross-class hybrids. For example, a rogue who can pick to specialize in one skill tree of the Mage powers. Or, a warrior who chooses to specialize in one skill tree within the rogue's class skills. I believe that this would create a lot of replay value as well as making combat within the game extremely more intense. I mean, who doesn't want to be a rogue who can stun a baddy, back stab him, then disentigrate him with a bolt of lightning?...just an idea.

5). A more organic and personalized romancing mechanic within the game would be awesome. Specifically, lets say that there is one character that you really fancy and you decide you want to make that character your love interest. Now, rather than just raising their approval/friendship/rivalry score to a specific level and giving them the occasional random gift, I think it would feel more real if one of the only ways to progress the romance would be to take them with you on your adventures. I don't mean that they are just part of the team and sit at the party camp, I'm talking about you have spend a lot of in game time with them in order to further their interest in you. Also, after having them within your party for a specific time, they'll make small talk with you (which you are actively choosing dialogue options for), give you a gift or momento, and maybe just pull you aside to give you a kiss or a hug, or even to just tell you that they enjoy being with you. Little things like this I feel would make the romance mechanic much more believable as well as personal.

Well, there are some of my suggestions for Dragon Age: Inquisition. I hope you guys enjoy them and think they are good ideas. Have a good day :)

Oh, one that I almost forgot: The ability to play as a half-breed character. So, either as a half human half elf character, or maybe even as a human and Qunari mix. I feel that it would be an awesome addition to the game if, in character creation, the ability to determine your character's racial background was present.

I really liked the idea that was mentioned in the most recent wave of information the past few weeks of a talent tree that includes points in more specific ways than just "coercion," for example, or "trap making." I hope something like this happens.

In my dream DA:I, I could put points in, for example, "military strategy" or "political diplomacy" or "subterfuge and black market" and this would not only effect how I enter combat (do I bust in through the front door or use the cave? While this type of thing appears to be an option now, perhaps if I spec into subterfuge new options or encounters open up in the cave, for example), but also how I make alliances (and with whom), the efficiency or loyalty of one's agents, and so on.

I think that for me a talent tree like this could really change how I replay the game. Now, when I replay DA I mainly just try to see the options I didn't pick before and imagine who would make those choices. But opening up talents to include specialization in tactics could in theory change the entire game and make it a completely different tactical and combat experience when played through again. From an RP perspective my Dwarf could finally build her own Carta (or NSA...), or my Mage could become a real political power player at the Orlesian Court or my Qunari could put points in "Thedosian History" and work on a new continental ideology or something, idk.

I guess now that I write this out it seems a tall order and a lot of work. So in case this doesn't work out I'll just hope for another prison break scene. I like those.

I didn't play video games until I found Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3.
I am a female gamer and my favorite things about these games which ultimately keep me playing are

Funny Party Banter
Romance
Great Storyline
MOST OF ALL************The ability to actually play as a FEMALE.

In the upcoming game of Dragon Age 3 the things I would like to see are

More options in character creation. IE., race, hairstyles, eye color, and makeup.  DAO had the option to be an elf.

More fashionable armor, clothes and weapons, like starfang and vigilence. Even if it is only two or three outfits.  Women like clothes or (armor) and dressing nicely makes it more fun.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: I  thought the romances in Dragon Age 2 were okay, however, I liked the ones available in Dragon Age Origins better. Honestly I think they should all be that way. To have the option to stay together or not.  When it comes to romance, for years women have been buying romance novels to subjugate their most inner desires. In the information era, video games can take it a step even further by making it virtually real. Having the option to look similar to themselves, while they carry on a hot steamy romance in between creating friendships, completing quests, settling conflicts, and fighting battles makes it that much more desireable. I have all my friends addicted to it. We can't wait until DA3 comes out.

The Ending, I was disappointed with the endings in all the games as it left me hanging.  There was no wedding, no closure, no real understanding of what happed to our character after.  Don't get me wrong, I never want these games to end but I would like a little bit of closure than just closing the game right in the middle of an emotional climax.  I wanted to cry after Mass Effect 3.  After working so hard to for a romance with Kayden and then being split apart on two seperate planets. Whoa! That's painful....

It sounds silly to a lot of people, but it is true that on an emotional level people have an ablity to relate to themselves in video games. There are studies that show this is true on many levels for many people.  So for those of you who like the romances don't feel weird and for those of you who don't like the romances then don't use the romance option.

I have tried playing other video games, and the only ones I seem to like are created by Bioware.

I totally agree!!

I have been looking for this post but couldn't find it.  LOL I am happy that there are other women out there who play these games.  I love them!Image IPB

One thing I am concerned will be absent from DA:I top 5 is a compelling combat system, with layers of depth. A combat system that will allow players to play a roll, such as a support roll (for the story you construct within your mind). My major concern is that missing from the top 5 things will be diversity of builds... over ridden by the slimmed down so called modern action gaming design, of the console era (however I oh so hope I am wrong).

I forgot to add Rhys and Evangeline :)

Hopefully they show up, and not die. I really like their chemistry and romance (even if it was mostly implied and hidden). Plus, I'd really like to put a "face" on those two characters.
