I'd really like to see Bethany/Carver pop up again, but with a romance. I am perfectly ok with them just briefly showing up with a husband/wife. I just want to know that my former brother/sister is happy.

1. Leliana singing.
2. Morrigan making snide comments.
3. Dark Ritual consequences
4. Is Merrill's clan alive or dead?
5. Companion from werewolves or dalish clan, depending on who we helped in Origins.

1. Whoever the player character is, cameos from the other player character in either Warden or Hawke (A question to devs on this: would it be hard to implement the customized Warden or Hawke just for a cameo?)

2. Choices and consequences from previous games. Say if you choose Anders at end of DA2, Sebastian can be found talking about getting back at Hawke and Anders for destroying the Chantry.

3. Clothes colour customization. I saw the PAX east presentation, but I don't think I saw this.

4. Romances impacting the story more. Make them feel more integral and less sub-plot. If you choose not to romance anyone, make it a good friend providing you keep the friend - rival system. (btw, loved how you ended DA2 saying "except for *insert LI* of course" That kind of stuff, it was great.

5. Cinematic kills. For instance, I really wanted a cinematic style kill when my Hawke encountered Quentin and Ser Varnell. Something similiar to how Hawke kills the Ogre at the beginning of the game. Taking the controls away from the player to end the battle. Seeing something like that really helps fuel the emotion of it all. Instead of just "attack, attack, now you're dead" type thing.

1) Coherent story. One thing I didn't like about DA2 was that each of the Acts were pretty much stand alone. There were elements connecting them but they didn't really have anything to do with one another. I'd much rather a single narrative over the course of the game than 3 barely connected set pieces.

2) Choices mattering within their own context. I don't need all my choices to be world shaping events and I don't need the choices in previous games to have a major impact (we're separated by umpteen years and miles), but at least let my choices matter within themselves. If I help a guy out early in the game don't have him show up later claiming I turned on him unless I actually did.

3)Rational Antagonists. A villain you can understand but ultimately disagree with is far more entertaining than a mustache twirling lunatic going "MUAHAHAHAHA!" More Magneto less Skeletor.

4)Flexible character interaction. I liked the pacing of DA2's conversations, in DA:O I blew threw all available dialogue in about 5 minutes, but it'd be nice if I could have them when I'm out and about sometimes.

5)Mabari as a party member. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I much preferred the Mabari you could level up and equip to the summons.

For a second I thought you meant Bethany and Carver were married to each other. I was like "WHA?!" Thats what you get from reading something too quickly I guess lol.

1) Protagonist with *no* pre-defined religious or political affiliations.
2) Protagonist with *no* pre-defined religious or political affiliations.
3) Protagonist with *no* pre-defined religious or political affiliations.
If this condition isn't met, I won't be buying the game, so 4 and 5 don't matter, but if it is...
4) Regalyan as a companion and LI.
5) Cullen as a companion and LI.

That was so sweet.....I think I'm going to be sick lol.

Anyway my top five things are:
1.) Leliana, please bring her back.
2.) A greater variety of weapon and armor choices. I don't want armor I get in the beginning of the game to look exactly like armor I get in the end-game.
3.) Morrigan...obviously. She needs to come back.
4.) Quests that are more then the typical "go here and kill these people" stuff.
5.) Cassandra....as LI.....awwww yeah.
6.) Have a female Tal Vashoth Kossith....LI....please?

And yes...I know I have six things. But I can't help it. I can't not have six things. It would kill me inside.

1.      Reactivity.  I want the story to shape around my actions.  I want to see factions and NPCs react to my choices.  I don’t mind if resultantly I’m locked out of some content because unexplored content motivates me to replay the game and provides me with a fresh experience when I do roll another character.

2.     Tactical combat.  I would like it if the gameplay mechanisms support a tactical combat option.  I appreciate that games have moved on since Baldur’s Gate and that in order to maintain profitability Bioware has to appeal to as broad a market as possible but for a consumer such as myself the ability to strategically think through my engagements is a great part of the appeal of the game.  I don’t want to rehash arguments you’ve heard 100,000 times already but I do feel that this tactical combat element is almost entirely missing from DA2 and that the game is less engaging because of it.

3.     Detailed NPC companions.  I have absolute faith that this is exactly what you will provide.  I like all the NPCs in both iterations of the franchise - so thanks for that!

4.     Skills.  I would like non-combat skills to make a return in DA3.  I find these elements help me to differentiate my PC from a generic rogue, warrior or mage and I think that the differentiation or customisation of the PC by the player actively contributes to their engagement and investment in the game.

5.     Mods.  I would like DA3 to support modding, ideally by providing a toolset.  Creating something or just putting your own stamp on something and seeing it brought to life in-game is a blast (sometimes a painful, exasperating and game-breaking blast!) and the toolset is something that I get a lot of value and enjoyment from in DAO.

Anyway that’s my wishlist.  Image IPB

More specializations. If we're still only going to have the three class system then specializations are a good way to get a level of variety in builds like the old D&D games. I don't want to hear that they've reduced the number of specs again to make each one "more meaningful."

I still think the idea of a specialization pack as DLC is a lot more appealing than an item pack. One's a cosmetic change and one adds new gameplay opportunities...

That is my top 1 thing, nothing else matters.

1. Difficult Choices with Serious and Lasting Consequence. I would like to see more and deeper instances, especially in the main plot, of having actual and cascading consequences from choices you make, and some level of divergence in the story based on this. Have the story and climax take into account major decisions from throughout the game with powerful consequences (even and especially unanticipated surprises, positive or negative) as a result.

The DA series has often presented consistently good story moments and choices, but the consequences are far too contained and don't have a lasting effect on the story. We don't need a "World Sandbox" as some people suggest where you get to decide how every major event plays out. It just needs to be realistic roleplay where your character does their best to react to and shape events around them, even if they can't always succeed, and experiences consequences that matter as a result.

2. This is a spin off of the above point, but it's important: Divergent Content. The obsession of having almost the exact same content experience for every player with a few decorative differences regardless of choice in prior games has been an unfortunate negative and takes away from the enormous appeal of an RPG based around Choice & Consequence. It doesn't need to be sandbox. But there should be some level of major storyline and content divergence (including locking out some content and opening new paths based on what you choose per playthrough). People will appreciate this.

3. Deep and immersive engagement and relationships with Party Members and other NPCs. This has always been done excellently in your past games, but it can be pushed further. Include options to really talk with characters in great depth if you choose to. People uninterested in deep dialogue can always ignore this, but many of us would love greater depth, complexity and interaction with other characters, and for these relationships to feel consequential and reactive to decisions you make.

4. Voiced Dialogue for the Main Character and the DA2 Conversation Wheel Choices (Honourable/Funny/Aggressive). This was excellently done in Dragon Age 2, and I hope it continues into Inquisition. Perhaps dialogue can be expanded with additional options and content for those of us who like to dig deep into characters' backstories and the lore of the world?

5. Different approaches to dealing with quests and problems. For example, one of the things I really enjoyed that was in Origins and to a lesser degree in DA2, was being able to talk your way in and out of trouble, to deceive and betray, to trick NPCs, to intimidate them or persuade them, and to solve various quests not just by combat but by role playing in other ways (being sneaky, or being charming and deceptive, or by building relationships that will help you).

An ending that makes sense and actually provides closure to the protagonist.
No more single city nonsense.
Wade and Herren making a return.
Fun characters/interactions/romances.
A balance between grimdark and adventure.

Bonus answer: An opportunity to actually kill Leliana and not have her pop up in the next game going "Lol I'm alive!"

Dear Bioware,

Please work on that. Please. Just a simple mage hood woud work for me. Just.... take your time on this part.

That's a BioWare problem full-stop.

They have nothing but ugly and terrible helmets in Mass Effect 2 and 3 that while worthwhile for their stats and buffs look so stupid that I wish I could turn them off (ME3 allows this, thank god).

There are helmets for warriors in DA2 that are equally ridiclous. I don't get it, personally. Most of the time their armors look great. Stylized, yes... but they look good. Helmets on the other hand...

Better combat system. I didn't really like combat in either DA game.
DA:O's felt too slow and like I didn't really have any imput on what was
going on. Too much relying on stats and dice rolls. DA2's was better,
it played a bit like an MMO, but the cooldowns on attack were too long
and they used up too much stamina/mana, which meant a lot of standing
around auto attacking or mindlessly clicking to make my character
attack. Also, like DA:O and MMOs in general, it felt a bit too reliant
on stats and dice rolls. I don't expect a complete revamp where they
make the game play like Skyrim of Fable or something, but I'd at least
like a few different options for how to play the game. Maybe a tactical
option for those who want the game to play like DA:O and then an action
option where the game can play something like Guild Wars 2 and the
encounters and enemy difficulty change based on what mode you've got the
game set to.

5: Better and more interesting classes with more
abilities for advanced classes. classes have felt poorly handled to me
in both DA games. In DA:O, a lot of advance classes were really boring
because they only gave you 4 new abilites. There was also a huge lack of
selection. Mages had it worst. If you just wanted to play a standard
mage who filled a dps role you had no options. Spirit healer was a
healer spec, Arcane warrior turned you into a melee class and made you a
tank, shapeshifter turned you into a melee dps and made you into an
animal (which is something not everyone enjoys playing as)  and blood
mage changed how the class was played too much by making your spells
cost health. There was no option just to give you a more powerful
fireball or something. In DA2, it didn't even feel like advanced classes
existed, and that was a bit boring too. In both games, some playstyles
didn't feel like they were supported at all, like archers. This is not
to mention the story surrounding classes. Running around as a blood mage
and having no one call you out on it just did not make sense.

I'm
hoping in DA3 classes and advanced classes will make more sense from a
story perspective and that there will be more options and playstyles
supported. I want an archer class or advanced class that gives me a
bunch of cool different arrows to fire (and not traps or pets, I don't
want to play a hunter, I want to play an archer). I want a mage advance
class that gives me huge fireballs to throw and lets me call on amazing
arcane power to directly damage my enemies.

And while still on
classes, I don't want companions to be restricted to certain advanced
classes. I hated that you were forced to take some companions over
others because you needed a tank or healer and the companion you wanted
to bring either couldn't fulfil that role either because they were the
wrong class or because they didn't have access to a certain talent tree
(like Merrill not being able to heal). All companions should have a
tank, heal and dps advanced class or talent tree and it's up to you to
decide what role they fill and build your party how you want instead of
being forced to go with certain companions.

The bolded. Because at the very least it would give the game some extra replayability. I do like how being a sword-and-shield tank is actually a part of Aveline's character but for other characters it really wouldn't change them one bit if they did something else... like yeah Merrill healing. Why wouldn't she? She's obessive over mirrors, sure, but she likes people and wouldn't want to watch them die while she could only cast lightning storms.

1.) No auto-dialogue.

2) Cutscenes I can alter (e.g: interupts from ME.)

3) Very challenging combat

4) Open enviroments. Let me go back and forth the map when I want to. Let me experience areas as I experienced them in Baldur's Gate. I want secrets, little caves, a diamon hidden within a tree.

5) A world map similar to the FF series. I have said this many times before, but it allows for SOOO many roleplaying opportunities, including a way to bring horses to the game without having to use them in combat or anywhere else other than the main map.

(cheating but, oh well.)

6) A fun mini-game. Something as addicting as Dice-Poker was in the Witcher. As long as there are more options, there more RP opportunities there are.

1. A good story with great characters and lots of dialogues, obviously. :D
2. A toolkit to create and implement mods. That would greatly increase the longevity of the game, imo.
3. A larger area to explore. The DA universe is a big place with lots things worth seeing and I'd like to do just that.
4. A sort of mix between the DA:O and DA2 gameplay.
5. A Female Elven Rogue LI, inspired by the concept art they showed at GamesCom (and possibly other conventions this year). Whoever has seen it should know which one I'm talking about. :D

1. A Mabari. Seriously, it isn't a DA game without a dog for a companion.

2. A home/base similar to Shepard's cabin in ME. It would be neat to get trophies/souvenirs to put in your house as the story progresses.

3. The return of Wade or the introduction of a crafting system. Being able to scavenge materials a make your own weapons/armor would be neat.

4. The return of the top-down camera option. On the PC at least it can make fighting against large groups of enemies much easier.

5. An upgraded Codex. I like reading the background fluff of the DA universe but having important entries like the Chantry, Circle, Templars, etc. could benefit from ME-style voiced Codex entries.

My top five desires for Dragon Age 3 would be......

1. Lessen focus on Grey Wardens. I like the Wardens and Darkspawn, and find them very interesting, but Dragon Age has a dozen other organisations and conflicts which are just as interesting, and we already had a game and an expansion devoted to the Wardens. The worst thing i can imagine for Dragon Age is if it becomes *about* the Grey Wardens specifically.

2. The ability to use any items with any characters, warriors are in fact perfectly capable of shooting bows and holding two small swords. Mages don't exist, but, if they did they would be capable of holding swords and wearing armour. I don't care how strong ir weak it is, but i want my mage in heavy plate with a sword. For aesthetic and thematic reasons, mostly.

3. class recognition. Dragon Age has been doing a much better job of this then Mass Effect, possibly because there are half as many classes, but my biotic characters fighting exactly the same as my soldier in cutscenes was always my biggest problem with Mass Effect. In the entire franchise, there is only one conversation in which your class is referenced and one conversation in which whether or not you are a biotic comes up. Dragon Age has done a much better job of this, mage Hawke acts like a mage and warrior Hawke acts like a warrior. Continuing this is important to me.

4. Weapon recognition. It always annoyed me when my character pulled out a knife to execute someone, it was strongest with Anders. I realise that it is an animation issue, they don't want to make a half a dozen different variations of the same execution, but i would really prefer to use my weapon.

5. Tallis.

I'm sure that the many, many posts in this thread have already addressed most everything I could say, but I thought I'd post anyway, just in case.

1) Lasting consequences to player choices, or at least the illusion of such. Even though not too much in Origins carried over, it felt at the time like every tiny action I made was this huge deal. Part of that was the fact that Origins was my first RPG . . . ever. So I never knew what to expect, and that made the experience much more powerful. Also, being able to once again import my choices from DA:O and DA2. I don't really think that this feature is going away, but it's a huge reason why I play Dragon Age, so I thought I'd add it on here.

2) Less auto-dialogue. I'm pretty cool with auto-dialogue in general, but I do feel at times that Mass Effect 3 sort of went a little overboard with it.

3) Continuation of the friendship/rivalry system, especially for romances. I loved, loved, loved that part of DA2. It made romancing certain characters I never would have bothered with before (like Fenris) an absolute joy to befriend and romance. I know that it's probably expensive, but I personally loved it.

4) Cameos for old companions and NPCs. I know that a lot of people don't like these, but I've always adored them. Just my two cents.

5) A chance to resolve or contribute to the Mage/Templar conflict. Yes, it's my favorite plotline. It's been the thing I found most interesting since Origins (other than darkspawn). Even if it's not resolved in this game, I definitely want to have *some* option to involve my PC in it.

And one more silly one, that I probably won't get: Nathaniel Howe as a romancable companion. Hey, I can dream. ^_^

All right, there are a lot of words here. This is gonna be more like an essay than a forumn post... I apologize for that. And I mostly had problems with DA2(I played it first), so I didn't mention DA:O or DA:A.
1)Character Customization and Roleplaying- I want to create my character! Pick their race, their gender, their hair and eye colors, (their build/phenotype would be nice, but...) their class. But also: their personality. If I want to create a female elf brave and confident in battle but clumsy in romance, I should be able to do so. If I want to make a male dwarf that hates humans and elves but is loyal to death towards dwarves, why not? I shouldn't have to deal with auto-dialog and bad paraphasing to decide how my character reacts. I'm pretty sure that everyone acts like a completely different person when a major event happens to them, such as LOSING THEIR OWN MOTHER TO A MADMAN.
Example: After being nice to Anders, he hits on your Hawke, then asks if it's okay to keep flirting with her/him. The options are: "Yes." "No." And "It's... unexpected." I click the last one, thinking Hawke would say something like: "You think I'm beautiful/handsome/whatever?" "I'm not sure how to react to that..." or "Are you trying to pull something?/flatter me?" or some other surprised response. Instead, Hawke says 'Doesn't mean I want you to stop.' Erm, what? That's not someone surprised. That's someone happy. 'Go on! Flirt with me!' That means my only options are to reject him flat out, tell him keep going or tell him keep going in a different way? Where's my middle ground of 'don't give up, but no promises?' 'It's practically still the beginning of the game and I hardly know you.'
What about origins? Hawke had two: An apostate living with their mother and twin younger siblings while hiding from templars in Lothering after their father died. OR A rogue/warrior living with their mother and twin younger siblings while hiding from templars in Lothering after their father died. That's... awfully limiting considering your first game offered at least six.
And the giving my character a voice... No, no, no, no, no. It KILLS the role play. If you're gonna let me customize my character, shouldn't I be able to create my own voice for them? What if I want my character to have a girlish voice, higher pitched than normal, but not like a child? What about a quieter voice, a softer voice? There are so many ways a person can sound, providing only one option is... disappointing. I rather the PC be silent.
And I know it may not be the same genre, but look at the Legend of Zelda series. There are more and more new games, but it's not at all likely that Link, nor any other character, will ever be fully voiced. And a lot of people like it that way.

2)Control over certain plot points or more actions with conciquences - One thing I remembered bugged me a lot: Why couldn't I save my Hawke's mom? I knew right when she mentioned seeing a suitor she'd get killed, but I couldn't warn her? Telling her she can't date ANYONE isn't the same as 'But there's a crazy guy murderering people! Be careful!' Couldn't I at least get that option? Nope, it's sad story time, so bye, bye, Hawke-mom! We need a reason for the LI to comfort you since they barely mention your sister/brother dying in the deep-roads. Hey, did you want to stand with the citizens of Kirkwall and kick out both the crazy mages and the crazy templars? Too bad, we have a set boss fight that won't change no matter what.
I understand that a lot of things were left out due to time constraints, so I understand why this would be, I just hope it's not gonna be the case in DA3.
"Doesn't anyone notice Hawke is a woman? Nope? No one gonna mention kidnapping her or that she shouldn't really be fighting since she's a female? Lord master of the Qun, you're not pissed off she goes against everything you stand for? 'She's not a priest or artisan and she casts magic! Sow her mouth shut and toss her into a shop stall!' No? Just gonna mention respecting her and ask for her help... Well, okay then..."
"So... I can romance everyone? (Sebastian not included.) Just a few word changes but otherwise, everyone's fair game? ... Why does it matter I got to pick a gender then?"

3)Time cuts, NEVER AGAIN(unless plot related at least?) - And what happened in between the time jumps? Was Hawke just sitting around, whittling tiny statues out of blocks of wood, and reading all the books in their house? I didn't like finding out I missed out of three years of my character's life. I don't even know who they are anymore. And really? The companions and Hawke didn't keep in touch over the time jumps? Why? Why are they there then? Why cut ahead if NOTHING really changes?

4)More Customization with class, Companions, Inventory, and Skills - I keep hoping I'll find a modern replacement for Neverwinter Nights, but alas, I can't seem to find one. What happened to Charisma(Persuade, Charm, Intimidate, Bribe), Rogue skills(Trap making/Disarming, picking locks(in plot related situations), sneaking), Crafting skills(Craft: armor, accessory, weapon, trap), Battle skills(Parry, Dodge), etc.?
Why can't my apostate Hawke have learned how to use a sword or bow from his/her father, like Carver did? Why does my APOSTATE mage run around in circle robes? Where are the decent pants and pretty but appropriate outfits? Why can't I NOT have a weapon on my back, even with nothing equiped? I never used a staff in DA:O. I didn't like it, and I always had dual short swords/daggers instead. Why can't a warrior use a bow? Maybe he won't have any skills with it, so what? It was just too limiting and took even more away from the role playing. And it felt like a pregen character with only a set of items to equip. Like you find in dungeon crawlers, not RPGs.

5)Less Mass Effect feeling - Okay, this might just be my opinion, but I didn't know how else to describe it. Let's start with the menus and stuff. I liked the 'pen and paper' medieval feel of the DA:O's interface. I liked how it looked as if it fit in with the time period. I wasn't too angry with how they were set up in DA2. It was 'okay,' nothing to get mad about, but it felt weird and out of place.  Like it would be better suited for a more modern or futuristic game.
And giving us a character we didn't create. Hawke just felt like another Shepard:
"Let's see, I'll be a female mage. Can I be an elf? ... No? Okay, well, can I at least make her look and sound weak and sheltered, since she had to hide a lot as an apostate? ... Huh? No to that, too? Well, can I at least pick out her voice? ... That's another no, huh? ... What can I create for her then? Just her hair, eyes, limited gear, and class... So... like all the things I could pick for Shepard?"
"Dialog wheel? Okay, well I'll give it a try... Huh? So it's Blue for paragon and Red for renegade again... Green leaves means gentle, purple diamond or whatever means 'funny' and red gavel for lawful, then? So basically, 'paragon' 'neutral' and 'renegade?' If it was in list form, at least it would feel different... Weird... And that's not what I wanted her to say... I had the same problem with Mass Effect, too... Am I just bad at reading paraphrasing...?"

6)(Optional, Just curious if possible)A way to beat the game without EVER picking a side - Wouldn't that be fun?
"Join us or them!"
"How about I join no one? I'm gonna go help those villagers being terrorized by a blood mage then head to the other village where templars have set up marshall law and free it. Then maybe join a dance contest or go fishing or something..."
"You can't do that..."
"And why not?"
"You have to pick a side."
"Hmm... no. I'm good."

It would be fun to try and be as neutral as possible. Like in early RPG days, 'chaotic good.' Help someone here, someone there, but never declare yourself as a 'pro-templar' or 'pro-mage' or 'pro-anything.' Do whatever you want. You're not a warden this time(as far as I know), so go nuts!

1. Cullen.
2. Lots of new locations. Take me all over Thedas please!
3. Multiplayer that does not affect the single player campaign.
4. Moar lore! That's one of my favorite things about the Dragon Age franchise: reading the codex entries.
5. Playable races.

Just wanted to add that I was super excited by the announcement today!
