Something about this terrifies me. When I figure out what it is, i'll be sure to let you know.

Don't hint at the implied issue. Lets leave it at that.

Has no one mentioned proper sneaking gameplay? The so-called stealth system in all of Bioware's games would have been unacceptable in 1998

It was there in mark of the assassin. In terms of gameplay u could have more of a hide and hit style.

Nice assumption, but no. That's not what i was getting at.

Edit: In fact, I'm not going to spark this argument again, I think the forums can do without the flame war - My apologies.

I want to go back to being the driving force in the story. Hawke just felt like he was going along for the ride. Weather you did or didn't do something, no matter which side you took, things still wound up the same.

Sure, Hawke seemed to always be in the middle of everything, but it was happening to him. Or he had a powerful reaction to it. But really, nothing mattered.

Give us back our Armies. Make us choose between characters. Make our choices drive the end of the story, not just the order of the boss fight.

1.No enemies exploding when you kill them
2.Stop the ****** dance that mages do when you start chaining attacks together. You know that thing on the third attack were they twirl around. that **** is annoying.
3. No reused areas with stone doors to keep you from going somewhere.
4.If the player chooses renegade choices, have them actually be evil.
5.Maybe take a page from New Vegas with the way wearing armor works, like if your character wears templar armor the NPC's act accordingly, or if you wear mage robes... you get the idea.
6. I know it said 5 but doing this because I can. If your character selects the blood mage spec, for the love of christ please have the NPC's like templars or your team mates react to it.

I'm going to regret this.

be not afraid.

You're suggesting that gender plays a part in writing, exactly how is that not utterly terrifying? A writer's skill should never be defined by their gender. It's all about being competent and capable.

David Gaider has written some of the greatest romances that I've had the good fortune to experience and that isn't because of his gender - It's because he's an excellent writer.

The fact that you're suggesting gender accounts for good or bad writing is utterly terrifying, in every respect.

oh. ok. not my intent. i read romance novels mainly written by women. thats my frame of reference. i dont mean to exclude any gender in writting ability.

Apologies.  :P

I'd really like to see cameos aplenty. I think DA2 does a great job with having them show up for a reason and it's cool to see them again. I also really liked the idea of a couple of quests that are available from imports. Although my imports didn't carry over on the ol' XBox :( But the idea is cool and feels more like my Thedas. I really dig the idea of the overall world being shaped by new player characters per installment. It's not something I've seen in other series.
As for NPC interaction, I really felt that DA2 did a great job but perhaps a couple of types of interaction while traveling around a la DAO would be welcomed. I liked being able to strike up a convo with my character's LI while out and about that wasn't automatically triggered. I'm not sure if that's possible though and not have a romance trigger during a battle or something. (That happened to me occasionally during play throughs in DAO)

Less combat, particularly DA2's continually respawning enemies and waves of enemies magically appearing to drag out existing combat. The amount of filler combat in that game was problematic.

1. Either new classes or new professions.  I would love to see them create a separate ranged class, instead of grouping it in with the rogue or the warrior.  If they took the ranger and turned it into a class all on its own, I would love it!  I usually play as the archer.   Posted Image

2. Being able to talk to your companions once again, whenever you want.  They gave you many dialogue options in Origins.  I would like to see that again.

3.  If there is to be multiplayer, I would like to see a co-op mode.

4. A combination of Origin's combat and DA2's speed.  I had to use a mod to speed up the two-handed sword swings in Origins, after playing DA2.   I felt like the enemies could have taken a nap before the strike hit!  Posted Image

5.  Crafting/skills that are actually useful.  In Origins, I never had the need to craft poisons, potions, traps, or pick-pocket.  I think I only used runecrafting once in Awakening... But I did create a lot of runes in DA2.  I would like to see new skills come about that will interest me enough to actually use them.  Armour or weapon crafting would be nice.  Or maybe rare recipes, crafting levelling, and so on.

While I was largely satisfied with many of the changes between the games, if there's a few things I'd love to see work on it's these things:

1. Use what I choose during character creation as tools to drag the character into the narrative. Allow me to make use of whether I am a mage, warrior or rogue. Not just in combat but also in other situations. Give me dialogue options that allow me to use the authority that comes with combat training as a warrior, allow me insight into magical mysteries as a mage and give me the resources of the underground's contacts as a rogue. Doubly so for specialisations and race-choices is there are any. Ideally it's woven into the narrative every step along the way, so you virtually always can let -what- you are affect the story as well as who you are.
I would be very impressed if this even goes down to haircolour (even if only once and only as a joke/insult).

2. Allow non-combat means of advancing the narrative and non-combat challenges. Combat enounters are all well and nice. But it would be marvellous if I time to time was instead faced with a gaping chasm and has to find a way to cross it (bonus points if there are multiple ways). If I am at a noble party and have to gather allies for a task, equipped only with our silver tounges and persuasive arguments. Stealth sequences in the vein of Mark of the Assassin. Magical (or non-magical) puzzles. Traps where you carefully have to move across it and manually disable it by hanging weights, cutting the right wires, blocking the right pressure plates and so on. Coercions of that relies on picking the right combinations, kind of like the interrogation in Thane's companion quest in ME2.
They need not be as many as combat encounters, but I'd love to see them. Interactive like combat (not binary) but success influenced by the skills, attributes and abilities of the character (again, like combat). Given equal care, if not equal precedence.

3. It would be kind of cool, if the character origins is left kind of open, to be allowed to choose ethnicity as well as race. So I could choose if my character is Fereldan, Anders, Orlesian, Nevarran and other ones appropriate of the geographic location of the narrative.

this really is a no brainer,
1. a return to the original story arc of Origins
2. a return of the grey warden (why they changed it...well it beggars belief)
3. a return of the original companions and love interests
4. a return of the lore art and 3D (no more spikys please)
5. the original map made sandbox in frostbite2

1) Former squad-mates to be integrated in your squad.
2) I'd like closure to what happened to Hawke.
3) The ability to be a Seeker :)
4) Less returning trivial items for meager pay (like the quests returning under garments and bottles of wine), more exploration and better payoff/loot. Bioware, you craft engaging and unique environments so I'd like to to you utilize it.
5) Female Kossith (romance-able if possible).

Top five mage related things I'd like to see in DA3

1. Templars need to notice that mages cast spells in front of them. There may be a reason that the Templars don't kill them on sight or drag them off to the circle, but please, at least acknowledge your own lore.
2. Let mages carry other weapons other than staves. Doesn't need to be like DA:O, but DA2 is more restrictive than D&D when it comes to mages and weapons.
3. DA2 did a very good job w/ some companions acknowledging that Hawke was a mage. Please, keep up the good work on that.
4. Let mages wear pants or some sort of light armor for both male and female.
5. If there is some sort of origin story for the protagonist, and I hope there is, please at least add some flavor for each class. The warrior a soldier who fought in a war, the rogue a thief and the mage escaped from a circle or some little something specific to each class.

1. Varied environments. No re-use of locations. Story that takes us to several locations. Exploration but no open world.
2. More PC and NPC character costumization.
3. Tweaked combat. Tone down animations from DA2 but faster and more engaging than DAO. Tactical combat. Weapon scale to be revised and weapon weight considered.
4. Bioware worthy story. Choices that matter.
5. Unique weapons and equipment with lore and history. Interesting loot.

I agree, duel weilding would be great. Maybe this would be a way to amp up the warrior class! (cuz I think that upping the warrior class woul be much better than dumbing down rouge and mage to make it look better. But not that I assume you guys are thinking that.)

Amping up the warrior class is definitely needed and I would willingly be on board with a dual wielding warrior in DA3. Warrior is my class of preference and I would like to see it supported better than it has been in the previous two games.

Better storytelling. I felt it was flawed in Origins, but DA2 really went off the rails.

Better customisation for player character and party members. Hopefully we won't be saddled with arbitrary restrictions like DA2 and can have more freedom of choice like the original set up in Origins.

For party members to have more interactions in scenes. I would like to see companions speak up in more scenes and possibly shape how the story goes depending on who you have in your party.

Player choice and consequences. I want to see my choices and actions matter when it comes to the story itself and to make truly different experiences for the different choices available.

Let us be the bad guy. I've yet to see a game do this in a satisfying way. I would like to see at least our evil actions recognised and the game respond differently and for evil players to be awarded appropriately. Ideally I would like to see evil players able to set themselves up as the villain, but I'm not optimistic that Bioware would pursue this.

I have more than five:

-Give a first name to the protagonist too.

-Cullen as companion and LI.<3

-Add little details to the game, like the mini games of ME2 and such. Details make the games so much more fun.

-Please give us a toolset, please?

-Remove the junks part of inventory, add proper icon for every item and a description to it like NWN2. I felt very bad to pick up anything that was categorized as "junk" even the diamonds, I always enjoy collecting gems in RPGs but I didn't like to do it in DA.

-Please extend the character creation, (more eye shapes, ears and lips shapes, more sliders, improved hairstyles, tints for both genders...etc) the presets and head meshes were not pretty in DA2.

-I actually liked it very much that all the LIs were BI, I had access to them with both genders.
It's a big deal cause I can't play a female character, no matter what I do, and I would appreciate it in DA3.

-Please let us be able to talk to our companions at anytime (like DA:O) I didn't like it the way it was handled in DA2. I had to wait to be able to have a short conversation with my companions.

-Add LI interactions like DA:O and add more options (embrace, hand holding...etc) I loved that in DA:O.

-Add more gifts so we can give them to our companions.

-I loved Rivalry and Friendship interactions from DA2, please bring it back.

-Bring back the Sarcastic personality, I loved it.

-Specializations like Bloodmage should have impact on the game.

-Bloodmagic is powerful magic, give us powerful spells and more spells.

-I loved combat in DA2, please keep it and improve it.

-Bring back shapeshifter scpecialization.

-My companions mind my choices and comment on it, I hate it that they follow me around like golems.

-Armor customization. (color, hiding different parts of the armor, mix and matching)

-Make the console for the PC be active by default and readable, not invisible (skyrim's console was great).

-And, PANTS FOR MAGES! seriously, what's wrong with pant wearing mages?!

-Pretty mage robes for mages (Flemeth's, Morrigan's and Champion's robes were great)

DAMN! I just keep remembering what can be improved! sorry for the long post!
