1) Be able to talk to companions when on a mission. I feel it his highly unrealistic to only be able to talk to a companion at their "home base".
2) To not have every encounter end with combat. I would like to be able to talk someone down, use stealth, or have a companion resolve the encounter sometimes.
3) To be able to play as multiple races, especially an elf.
4) To have people react to you if you use magic in front of them or carry a visible staff. At least the Templers should react if they talk to or see someone who is obviously a mage.
5) A toolset to create mods. The DAO toolset was good and greatly extended the life of DAO.

More flattering (sexualized i guess) female armor. No more playing a female character that looks like a man when wearing heavy armors. Like Airbeth from NWN and Saskia from the Witcher 2.

Less DA 2 and more DAO!

Real elves not bird/goat hybrid people.

All the races back as  player characters.

No over the top, ninja, gung fu, boring ass combat. Go back to the DAO tactical please.

I know this is six things but. Build and optimize the game first for the PC and then dumb it down for the consoles.

1. Able to talk to companions when on a mission or anytime. Build up your relationship like you did in DAO.

2. More loot and more diverse loot. I never bought the dlc's for DA2 and I will never buy the dlc's for DAI if they keep trying to skimp out on the main game only to try to force more money out of our pockets. If easy mode I can lvl from 1-30 , I should be able to have 6-10 different looks while leveling and have at least 3 max lvl endgame armors I can choose from. In DAO you could go after a few sought after pieces but that wasnt enough. In DA2 they totally got rid of almost all armor and you had to wait until act 3 before you could look cool with the champions armor.

3. A character that feels like I am playing as me. Thats immersion. Play Hawk's story, I never felt immersed. Don't know how you can do it, but get it done. I still have faith in this Bioware group.

4. More diverse and beautiful LI's. Isabella was a dirty $&*(^ and Merril (whatever her name was) looked like an old granny. Not hot or anything I would touch with a ten foot pole. Your sister ended being the best looking female and thats just wrong. Felt like a kick in the teeth. Heck make twins, the love triangles or (not) between them would be awesome.

5. Story line that doesn't revolve around me being an errand boy. Hawk was champion of Kirkwall, but also Kirkwalls man slave to do fetch quests around the town. I understand the concept of the divide between mages and the circle, but Hawk was just an errand boy that got to witness everything. I want to be the cause of greatness. I know the story line of good vs a great evil is felt overdone - But it works because it makes everyone feel like the hero, like we sacrificed for a cause.

Extra credit.

6. Move around the world and no reused maps please.
7. When you choose a path or make a decision, let it matter more. Decisions felt more important and permanent in DAO.
8. More Dragons in Dragon Age please...lol

P.s. Don't worry about carrying over any saved game data from DA2. Save yourself the trouble and forget that part. The main ending in DA2 was the same anyway.

1. To be able decide not to involve oneself in anything and see what happens.
2. To venture alone and win. (I do not like any of the companion characters from DAO and DA2.  I'll probably not like any in DA3.)
3. To walk through the world *after* the game and see the changes that have been wrought
4. To be able to get any item worn and wielded by an opponent off that opponent's cadaver
5. To be able to slay all remaining DAO and DA2 NPC companions.  They're all just that irritating to me.

1. More customisation/variation, both in terms of appearance, back-story, and armour. This is particularly relevant to mage armour. I don't just want access to a bunch of different coloured dresses robes. For example. Hawke's mage armour, which was sort of a cross between actual armour and robes; that was really neat. More "battlemage-esque" variations of such would be much appreciated. In terms of back-story, make it similar to Origins. Even if we don't get to choose from various races, being able to decide where out character came from and how they lived is better than having a pre-determined past.

2. Flemeth and Morrigan. More inclusion of both of them. I don't just mean hearing some old legend about Flemeth part-way through some irrelevant quest or some short cameo, but actual inclusion of them in the game and story. There's no arguing they're two of the more popular and interesting characters of the series.

3. Consequences for your actions. Not only in regards to major/endgame-related choices, but confined character-specific choices, too. For example, becoming a blood mage. I want some reaction from people. Even if there are negative outcomes, such as certain NPCs refusing to work with you during quests, forcing you to find an alternative. Something more than just a new skill tree would really make you feel like your powers and smaller choices define and make unique your character.

4. More inclusion of demons. By this I mean, making them more than just enemies. Give us more information on them, more interaction with them outside of short conversations and battle. I've always thought a demon party member would be extremely interesting. As in, a full-blown possession, not an Anders or Justice situation. A rather specific scenario I've thought of is at one point in the game having to choose between recruiting a templar or demon into your party, as recruiting both clearly wouldn't work out well. Either way, more interaction with and information on demons in DAIII would suffice.

5. Being able to be "evil". I know, ultimately, we're going to have to be the "good" guys in the end, but to tie in to my previous point, for example, we could be allowed the choice of siding with demons, or recruiting one. Having the ability to do things that don't just fall into the "good" to "morally grey/amoral" areas would be nice. Arguments could be made for both the mages and templars being the good guys -- well I want the ability to say "I don't care who the good guys are, because I'm not, I'm siding with the demons/blood mages", etc. Even just in terms of smaller scale things.

EDIT: Oh, and bring Cullen back. Cullen4party member!

EDIT2: I also didn't mention the obvious things like don't recycle maps, give us greater world exploration, etc.

I would really love to see

- A sarcastic protagonist, but with an ability to do Paragon/Diplomatic solutions, too(in DA2, Hawke can't persuade elves to spare a former werewolf/save a blood mage in "All That Remains", unless she's got a Diplomatic personality);

- Good items with pretty icons, like Rose Thorn in DAO, or The Key to the City. To me, managing money and buying stuff is the best part of replaying the game, and I want it to matter.

- An opportunity for easy combat, I mean, really easy, like Story difficulty in ME3. In DAO, easy difficulty was easy, but in DA2(pre-patched), it was quite difficult, and even after, a bit hard.

- More moral conflict like the Anvil of the Void, or the Architect, or the genophage. And the ability to be a badass/pragmatist as well as the ultimate paragon, too, naturally.

- Also, since we're talking about Warden/Hawke connection, I'd like a possible tie to the Amell family. For example, a human mage character can choose Amell surname early on/during character creation, and then characters like Anora and Cullen would acknowledge her as such.

Edited for space. Oh, and Varric. Varric is always good. :)

Ok, I was thinking about suggesting a poll instead of a wish list, but meh...
1. Better combat. The system used in DAO was great, the system used in DA2 sucked. And please, no more awesome buttons. Please. With a cherry on top.
2. No auto-dialogue. Autodialogue is great for animated films but not games. It kills the immersion for me as a player when my character say things I don't approve of. Besides this is related to my next point:

3. Do not take away control from the player. That means that if something bad happens, it should be because the player screwed up, not because you say so. In ME2 people could die if the player made bad decisions, and that was a great feature, keeping the player in control all the time.

4. Let the game make sense. If magic is banned, don't let the player sling spells freely for example - in DA2 you could literally cast spells on the doorstep of the Gallows just before the first year and nothing happened - contrast this to what happened in the beginning of BG2 at Waukeen's Promenade...

5. Do not re-use areas. In some cases, re-using areas make sense, like the small labs and stations used in ME1 since they were all factory made, but caves aren't like that. Let there be... originality.

And I will repeat this again, because I think it's too important:

Do not take away control from the player.

Thats all.

1. Good Story with real choices that change outcomes (eg should have been possible to save Leandra in DA2 - it should not have been obvious though as her death was impactful first time)
2. No forced deaths of specific LIs / Companions (I'm happy with lots of possible deaths and that not everyone can be saved but let it be down to the decisions taken by the player) *game breaking*
3. Freedom to interact with companion characters at will (okay if this is just in hub areas)... no inane barks please.
4. Origins & choice of race would be nice.
5. Dog companion (not a mabari, a shepherd or wolf would be nice)

  • 1. Retuning Characters like Isabella, Morrigan and even Varric
  • Customization of companions.
  • Better Romance.
  • Return of a more tactial style combat. Particularly being able to have an over head camera.
  • Finally, more in depth with classes. Specific example would be to have maybe a prestige option for each class. Say one with the warrior class that allows for said warrior to wield two swords and wear medium armor. Loved that about The Old Republic. Really want it if at all possible.

And no more imposed choices. If the only option for a PC in DA3 is some templar leading an exalted march against magic (the final goal being extermination of mages) I'll pass the game entirely. First, I could never play a dogmatic character; it's like playing a serial killer for me. Second, DA2 has this flaw already. As a PC you are forced to make the "destined" choice (ex. Bethany is a Circle mage, you are "destined" to help the mages. What about rescuing Bethany and leaving Kirkwall ? There was never a true reason in DA2 against such an action; somehow, it never occurred to the PC. Staying in Kirkwall and enduring tragedy after tragedy seemed to me to be imposed by gods. It was "meant to be".

If possibe: improved enemy AI. I vote hands down for small but competent enemy groups (party sized) instead of huge mobs of idiots. A very nice touch would be an enemy AI setting based on their combat training. I would be happy to see the difference in fighting an angry group of citizens and a squad of professional soldiers. And also if possible unique enemy fighting tactics bazed on race, training (say an ambush by a group of elven archers, or a dwarven berseker charge).

1. Learn more about the Black City/Darkspawn and how to stop the Blights for good. The Wardens were up to *something* through out DA2, afterall, right?

2. Be able to enter Qunari territory and see their culture at work. Preferably in a non-combat role for at least one quest.

3. See Tevinter.

4. Cameos from our Warden, Hawke, and relevant companions from previous games. (More Gideon Emery can never hurt a game.)

5. Keep the ability web system and speed of combat from DA 2. Perhaps expand on it by adding to the web system for DA:O skills like traps, pickpocketing, herbalism, etc. But please keep the ability system of DA 2. I loved the look of that thing. (The pace of combat was also excellent.)

I agree with this completly - For me I always thought that an apostate running around in Mage robes was kinda riddiculous, its like putting a sign around your neck saying "Hey Templar, I'm an apostate"

For Circle Mages, or mages that do not need to hide the fact that they are mages, I think robes are apprpriate, but for apostates, I think they should have a very different style, something that dosen't scream "Look at me I'm a Mage"

1. Better character creation. More hair styles, beards, make up's for ladies etc. and especially I want to be able to choose my characters race (dwarf, elf, human).
2. Merrill and Tallis as companions (at least cameos)
3. DA2 combat
4. Choices that matter. I want to see what were the consequences for my DA:O and DA2 choices.
5. Great ending. I want to see ending where I can choose how things end like in DA:O and not like it ended in DA2. And what happened to my companions after ending would be nice to know

1. Sensible Quests. With valid reasons for player involvement in main quests.
2. Risk involved in being a mage (completely absent in previous games)
3. No reused environments
4. Mage Staffs, I would like there to be an alternative to carrying one of these around for a mage.
5. Focus on player control rather than cinematic cut scenes.

1. I want our characters and choices to matter from DA Origins and DA2.
2. Better romance. I could kiss Alistair anytime.
3. Choices that sculpt the ending, not choices that give your the SAME ending no matter what your choices. If you wanted to sacrifice yourself, fine...or you could save your character and avoid the classic bittersweet endings that I've seen in most video games of late.
4. More quests and a longer game.
5. Bring our characters back. They mean something to the fans. I would play as Hawke or the warden (oh you would have to bring back the same love interest as a companion and expand on their romance).

1. NO fighting Big Bad Evil (Archdemons, Architects, Corypheus, Reapers, Inevitable Blights etc) single-handedly (or in party). PLEASE. You could do it in DA2, after all.

2. Less hero-centric characters that just luv and follow the Hero and do as he says. DA2 had it right direction - most of characters had their own non-related to hero buisness, even if romanced. And this IS good.

3. More playstyle variety - look at MotA: minimum filler-fights and waves, some puzzles, a lots of talks and banters, ways to solve things in stealth way. Would be perfect to have social skill checks (charm-intimidate) back. Either based on cunning-strenght stat or bound to specific skills.

4. Leave Hawke and her\\his LI and companions (yes, Anders including!) alone. You left it for headcanon already. Don't make more of stupid "Alistair-married-king" cameos. Those do not add anything to character. Less fanservice for sake of character's integrity, PLEASE! Same goes for Warden&Co

5. Make party setup matter. In DA2 it does not matter if you use melee tanks or mages - it all turns into AOEing and diablo-like hack-n-slash. Also would be nice to have more different and flexible combinations of melee\\ranged\\magic companions.

Like DAO - Zev an Leliana could be used both melee and ranged ways. Warriors could be trained into archer-spec if needed. But no sane person would ever take Bianka from Varric. Same as Fenris or Aveline won't do any good with a bow.

HOrses (horse battles)

Dynamic weather

All spells and Mage types back (Spirit, Nature, etc)

Warriors with more weapon variety (Maces, Spears, flying gullotines, etc)

More level variety and mission types

improved DA2 dlc combat fighting system

Better story telling style. DA2 way it was told was trash. The characters personal stories were good, but the whole time skip thing failed EPICALLY and the OH I DID THAT but didnt experience it first hand, FAILED EPICALLY

1. Brilliant and diverse conversations/story like that of the first game. (Also: Side quests that are enjoyable and don't feel like grinding/'Get X item for X gold," sort of thing.) No more conversation wheel, back to the beautiful simplicity of the text options.

2. Character customisation, especially race again, gender will no doubt already be an option, more freedom with character personalisation through gameplay/clothing/EVERYTHING.

3. Character cameos from the previous games, not necessarily continuing our old characters, though.

4. Ability to talk to companions more like in DA:O, it made the game feel more real by being able to initiate conversation anywhere, of course party banter too!

5. Something along the lines of 'Party Camp' again, I loved how in the first game it felt like you were all together as a group, in the second game more often than not it felt more like companions only followed you around, then went their separate ways as soon as you told them to leave.

(1) Less overblown combat presentation (compared to DA2). Fewer and stronger enemies instead of the endless waves of mooks. Combat should feel meaningful, not a chore.
(2) Occasional opportunity to avoid fighting with persuasion skills.
(3) Return of Morrigan as a major character (not necessarily a companion).
(4) Meaningful conversations. I want to control what I say, not just the emotional mood of my character. I want to have meaninful interaction instead of just broadly steering the direction by setting a mood.
(5) Unique and changing environments which remain open for exploration once unlocked.

My Top 5:

1) Bioware finally realizing that they should go back to telling a story about people, as opposed to a thinly disguised commentary of politics. You can keep the politics, but only as a backdrop to how the characters react to it; as opposed to making characters mindless mouthpieces for the said politics (the mindless mouthpieces should be strictly kept as NPCs, who can be stabbed and killed horribly if the player finally gets annoyed with them).

2) Bioware realizing that many of us do, in fact, like a certain level of tactical thinking when we play our RPGs and therefore the combat should exercise the mind and not just the fingers.

3) Bioware learning to take advantage of the full implications of the fundamental premises of the game. When you make an epic story that is supposed to span several years (i.e. Dragon Age 2), it should feel as though several years do actually pass as opposed to feeling Bioware got lazy and gave us a cutscene in place of five years of content. In this case, if you're saying we get to control an actual organization that had wide-ranging powers and its actions have consequences, then it better deliver in this regard. This Inquisition had better be an actual organization - with its own bases, wide-ranging contacts, and influences in various courts - and not just an empty mansion where The Hero and 5 of his friends hang out (if that's the case, then you should have picked a completely different premise in the first place).

4) Bioware learning to scope the damn project so that they can actually deliver on their promises. If you want player's actions to have meaningful consequences in the ending, then don't put in 50 choices which affect the ending when you ony have time to make 25 of them actually matter.

5) Bioware learning that they should stop trying to be profound or new with their endings, because it never ends well when they do.

1. More responsive story-telling. My choices, big and small, should matter.
2. Improved engine (Yay!). DA:O and DA2's felt incredibly dated, even on release.
3. Slower, more tactical combat with more realistic pacing and animations.
4. Aesthetic customisation divorced from stat customisation. My choices aren't the only way I like to define my character. I don't want to be punished in gameplay for thinking one set of armour looks better than another.
5. More grounded art-style for weapons and armor. DA2's starting armour and Champion Armour = Cool, proportioned for actual humans. The Rest = Enormous hideous piles of junk. See: Game of Thrones.
