1. Great companions with dialogue and banter. This is and always will be the best aspect of Bioware games to me. Make it so that we can talk to them as much as we want, and have plenty of party banter that play often. Also, good romances like the arcs we got for Leliana, Morrigan, Ashley Williams, Bastila.

2. Good and deep combat with moderate speed. Somewhere between DA2 and Origins in speed. IE, two handers should feel heavy and slower compared to sword and shield, but not as slow as in Origins. Loved the changes to the rogue and the mages in terms of speed and accessibility, so you can keep that as it was in DA2. HOWEVER, take away the over the top animations and exploding bodies from all classes... I don't have a problem with beheading, limbs flying off, burning, shattering etc, but a single sword-swing DOES NOT make an entire body explode.

3. Character armor customization. Loved that you gave companions unique looks in DA2, and I love even more what you seem to be doing with companion armor in DA3. If you also make it possible to mix around with color and material for the player character I will be in heaven.

4. Large game in terms of length and scope. Preferably somewhere in Origin's length (or just short of) when it comes to play-time. Preferably bigger in scope than both Origins and DA2 when it comes to places we get to visit.

5. A good story and exciting locations/enviroments. While I really liked the 'rise to power/not saving the world'-aspect of Dragon Age 2, I feel that having most of the game in Kirkwall really didn't let the character (and the player) explore enough. Origins did better in this regard. A part of Bioware games has always been exploration and going to new exciting locations. Get back to that please. Also, make every area look beautiful in its own way.

1. Great story(it's Bioware so I'm not worried)
2. Race selection(Human, Elf, Dwarf, Kossith)
3. Choices having impact on the world(like people referencing what your character did)
4. DA:O and DA2 references(same as #3)
5. Custom armor(able to change color/pattern on armor)

1. Choices that really matter: both from previous games and from DA3.

2. A fleshed out, cathartic ending. The DA2 one was just so incredibly disapointing...

3. Returning characters, but not the dead ones. I'd love to see Loghain if we're going to Orlais!

4. No reusing the same cave x times please...

5. Really making the protagonist feel like the central character who is causing events rather than witnessing them.

1 - Hawke and Warden
2 - Choices in previus games affecting the gameplay in a significant way
3 - More environments (forests, swamps, snow areas, ruins)
4 - Main character having different backgrounds possibilities
5 - Mutiplayer not affecting the solo campaign

1. Choices that matter.
2. Cameos and References to DA1 and 2. As long as they make sense.
3. Carver.
4. Darker tone. Or at least more like Origins. DA2 admittedly had its moments, but felt comical most of the time.
5. Likeable and complex characters.

What are the top 5 things you are hoping to see in DA3

For me it has to be:

1. Returning characters, particularly Morrigan and Isabela

2. Improved combat tactics mechanics - Its very frustrating when tactics end up broken, I love the tactical element so I'd like to see them get this right first time

3. A Multi-player mode that does not affect the single player campagin

4. Choices that matter - Lets see consequences to choices from both DA3 and even DAO and DA2

5. In depth characters - Bioware always do a great job with characters, but I'd really like to see more interaction with companions, not just a "Isabela wants to speak to you type thing"
Thoughts ?

I agree with your choices 1,2 & 4. As an expansion of point 4 I would also rather see a non-obvious dialogue system. What do I mean? The dialogue wheel of the ME-franchise or DA2 showed obvious answers and you could easily guess which reactions or consequences they will cause. I want to be surprised or shocked how  a companion or NPC reacts or what I'm causing when picking an answer I thought of being right.

Also, I would add 2 other wishes:

3. Rework the friendship/ rivalry system: It's ok that a certain character can as well be bound by gaining a certain level of rivalry. But I didn't like that a charcter stayed on your side in DA2's final battle when he/ she gained full friendship or rivalry whereas they turned against you when only a certain percentage was reached. Here the companions character should count. A deed that really contraticts the companions ideals or believes should have the right consequence (see Sebastian or certain events in DA:O)

5. Less spawning of enemies and therefore more challeging enemies. Of course, a fight between armies would need a great amount of enemies. But the respawning of enemies in DA2 just sucked and certain boss-enmeies where to easy to beat. I prefer less bodycounting and more rewarding of gaining a victory. That's something not really being hooked on  levelsa of difficulty. Also I would be happy if there would be more quests wheere you could choose if you prefer a violent or peaceful path :wizard:

And 6. (Sorry ) A more "animated" world: Kirkwall appeared to be rather depopulated than being overcrowded. What about the tavern atmosphere? NPCs that don't care if their chests are plundered or that a fight is taking place right in front of them? I want to see their reactions and perhaps be punished again for being to much of  a thief:innocent:

1. My Warden is some playable capacity.
2 Morrigan's return with a big role within the game.
3. Recognition of my choice for the OGB and a meaningful impact.
4. An epic story with a clear goal rather than small broken up mini-quests and a twisted ending.
5 Race selection with different origins for main protagoinist.

1) No copy paste dungeons. That was the biggest snag that DA2 had. It often felt like a chore to plough through them and always I rolled my eyes in dissapointment.
2) Original characters from DAO returning. Alistair. Shale. Morrigan, bring her back. I loved her in DAO, her dark humour and... and CLAUDIA BLACK!
3) My original characters, my Warden and Hawke, to reappear or their roles reprised for the sequel.
4) Deeper romance options, like being able to kiss and sleep with given character whenever desired, like in DAO.
5) I was dissapointed to fight a Harvester in DA2, while being sure that the one fought in GoA was made under different circumstances. It felt very cut and paste, rushed into the game through time constraints. Please don't do that again Bioware. I love you guys but that just felt awkward. At least the Varterral's appearance partially made sense, but even then I thought that they were an ancient species thought dead; you fought two of them in the exact same spot at different times :S So my fifth request would have to be a more unique range of bosses not fought in previous titles and DLC, and if you must use them again at least bring something new to the table to make the experience feel fresh.

1) All LIs romanceable by both genders of player character.
2) Still more variation in armor design.
3) The ability to set up party rogues to auto-disable traps in battle.
4) Unique specializations for each party member.
5) More dungeon puzzles.

#5 - A nuanced story/ending. If you want to get technical Origins only had 1 ending, stopping the blight, but that ending had many, many variations. 2 had just that, 2, with very minor variation. I have no idea on the ME thing, not my kind of game, too fps-ery, not rpg-y enough, but I hear it has similar issues... (Of course Origins was a more nuanced story, where 2 was almost completely on rails). So I guess this one is "More Nuance, all around!" Make things connect, and make sense, continuity (if my house has a basement and it connects to darktown, then it should always be so, and I should always be able to go there, unless I choose to lock it off and barricade it shut).

#4 - As much as I would like to see more of characters like Isabela, Varric, and so on, after what happened last time, and the fact that they will get reduced to level 1 (or whatever level you find them at) if they are party members, bothers me. So if there are returning characters, I would prefer they were not ex-party members and more like someone along the lines of Charade or some other character like that. I can kind of see the Hawke sib (if there is one left) since they really didn't have a lot of involvement, but I am kind of mixed on that too, depends on many other factors we don't know yet. (Obviously Sandal is an exception, because he is not a party member, and, well, Enchantment! ;) I want to see his prophecies and such come to be) Anyone else should pretty much be a non-companion NPC, (and killable, with appropriate repercussions if caught, certain factions turning on you, whatever is fitting depending on who it is and where you are when you do it).

#3 - Tactical combat, like Origins, just a bit faster. I did like mages combat a bit better in 2, not counting that uninterruptable staff spinning thing, but the rogues and warriors had too many options taken away, and the dual wield used to be the best at hitting large groups in melee suddenly became single target only. So, please combine the two styles to give us the best of both there. And the Friendly Fire needs a lot of work, or well the balance between NPC and PC/Party stats needs the balancing, but either way, this should be its own option, on/off, not tied to the difficulty setting. A trash mob shouldn't need 4x the hp of the player, and still fall like a trash mob, this is why FF was so awful in the 2nd game, something that would barely dent the mobs could wipe out the party.

#2 - More Specializations, further expanded, in a less restrictive, more logical way. I liked that you expanded the Specializations but not at the cost of more than half of them. I also didn't care for the way some abilities were still locked behind others that didn't really seem related, like Isabela's aoe being locked behind her taunt (something she really shouldn't have til later if at all). I don't mind some powers being locked behind others, when it makes sense for them to be that way, but that one more than any other bugged me. It stands out so much I can't think of other examples, lol.

And the #1 thing I want to see in DA3, The most important thing in any RPG, CHOICE! Choice in every aspect possible. Choice in what kind of character I make, choice in my race, choice in my class, choice in my origin, choice in my religion (even Origins had issues here, even as a Dwarf there were times when the option for something like "Maker, No!" was in the list instead of a more fitting option, Origin and class/race should influence dialogue a lot more), choice in my motivation, choice in my party members, choice in who I leave breathing (if Cullen returns, for example, I want to be able to finally Smite his mage hating self, and then say, "Ah, I Smote him Well!"), choice of when and where I chat with my companions (and other people, chatting options are always good, the more ways to talk to people the better), choice in the race/gender of the LI's (maybe as a dwarf I don't want to date outside my species, there are not enough dwarves as it is!), choices, choices, choices. The way you did the dialogue wheel last time was just awful. It didn't give choices so much as 3 ways to say the same thing more often than not. And the 'investigate' option was always in a part of the conversation where it felt very wrong, for example NPC says Line A, 2-5 investigate options later Player makes a comment/joke referencing Line A... Very inorganic (like much of part 2's writing). So if you must use this thing, (which takes away dialogue choice, as does the 'fully' voiced player) at the very least please give us the choice to say yes/no/maybe and then select the tone nice/funny/rude. And If I can turn down a quest in the dialogue (or threaten to kill someone) then let me do that, if you are going to make me do the quest anyway, don't have an option for me to turn it down, have it say I'll be back, or something else, so they can put it off, but not let them think it's optional. If I can say "I should kill you now!" then I want to be able to follow up on that. (Yes, Patrice, I am only sorry that Kossith got to you first!) I could have handled many of the issues with 2 much better if we had not lost so much in the way of Player Agency and Choice.

I won't list things like banter (something that you always do well), party armor (you have said you are doing what I always thought was the best option for a compromise already), no reusing of maps (unless it makes sense, like going back to the same place! Though please don't close off places we have been, unless there is a reason for it, like the tunnel collapsed, or the house burnt down, and if there is a place on the map, make sure it is a place we can get to at some point, no places on that map that will never be accessible no mater what you do ever), because if you go back on these at this point you lose all credibility. I would rather not see resources spent on multi player, when the game itself needs all the attention it can get, & while I still reject the idea of being a member of any group calling themselves The Inquisition, especially one with the history this one does in Thedas, and I hope that joining them will be optional. And I also know this has been said before, but I will stop this 'short list of 5 things' and just say reminding me of the following is the brightest moment I have had since this announcement,
"But I just didn't expect the Orlesian Inquisition!"
"NOBODY expects the Orlesian Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to Andraste, and nice red uniforms!" "Fetch ...the Comfy Chair! So you think you are strong because you can survive the soft cushions. Well, we shall see. Biggles! Put her in the Comfy Chair!" said Ximinez with a cruel leer. "Now! You will stay in the Comfy Chair until lunch time, with only a cup of coffee at eleven." [to Biggles] "Is that really all it is?" {Poor Fang doesn't get to say much}.
"Confess!"
(I am picturing Carrol as Ximinez.)

1. Resolution of the Warden's and Hawke's stories: no need to show the characters, but tell us what the mysterious disappearances were about and what they're up to now.

2. In the same vein, resolving the plot threads left hanging, especially the ones from DA:O (such as Morrigan and the OGB).

3. Choices that matter. If a quest line has various different choices along the way, the choices should affect the outcome of the said quest.

4. Race selection. 'Nuff said.

5. Cameos from some of the old characters.

1) Different playable races.
2) Detailed and artistic interface, Origins style.
3) Two-handed swords like in Origins, with swift salve and haste. Much more realistic than DA2.
4) Tactical camera.
5)  A masterpiece game, Origins style.

PS.: forgot to mention Finishing Moves. Every great game after Origins had that amazing feature added, except for DA2, somehow. TW2, Max Payne 3, KoA, even Risen 2 has finishing moves Origins style added to it. It's one feature that made Origins remarkable. you can see by the number of YouTube videos with them and the view count on them too.

I'll stick to simple choices.

1. Race choice. I liked Hawke, but I like playing as elves and dwarves more.
2. More customisation. Better hair, better dark skin tones, more shapes and sliders in the CC for faces, diverse armour/robes for the different classes.
3. Improved combat, somewhere that hits the balance between DAO's 'practical' and DA2's 'unrealistic'. Playing Dragon's Dogma only reminded me that combat in DA leaves something to be desired.
4. Companion interactions. I loved that they interacted with each other in DA2 and had a life outside the main character.
5. Put both sexes of all races in the game. Seriously. Unless female dwarves now look like men and wear fake beards.

1. bags for runes, gems, and spell components - this is about the only thing i liked about KoA.
2. i'd like it to be clear from the beginning what your gold is for. some RPGs have lots of gold to purchase items in shops, some have not a lot of gold and loot is abundant from combat. i would just like to know whether or not to spend my money at the shops (and collect everything from fallen enemies) or if most of the "good" loot will be found during the course of adventure.
3. i'd like the ipad/android mini game app to have no bearing on the story for the main game. as i understand it, the new AC3 PS Vita game will unlock weapons and maybe upgrades for PS3 users, but the whole game takes place in New Orleans. I'd like something like this for the DA3 app.
4. i liked looking for special weapons to assemble. i would like them to be available early enough to make some use out of it. maybe a new weapon in each section of the game - if you don't find it all no harm no foul - i don't like the idea of one weapon that you need to find each piece in different sections of the game and couldn't use if you didn't find them when you were supposed to.
5. a game i can be immersed in, but not lost in. Skyrim was a little too open for me. i played 80 hours and didn't get far enough in the main quest before i kept getting killed. if you want a world where you can become a master weaponsmith or master mage, maybe make those available after the main quest is completed. something to do while i wait for DLC to come.

these are mainly feature requests, so not everyone will agree, but i thought i'd mention them. they are not in any particular order.

1) Having a character that I'm able to roleplay. Origins was really good at this because no matter how many times I played Amell or Cousland or Mahariel it always felt like a different character. Hawke, not so much.

2) A nice, artistic world that fits in well with the franchise. I already know the game is going to be gorgeous but please make it interesting. Kirkwall was not interesting after the first act.

3) Cullen LI, obviously.

4) Companions that I'll love. Origins I loved the characters from the start. DA2 characters took me at least a couple of months to start liking(with the obvious exceptions of Varric, Bethany, and Isabela.)

5) Just give me a game that I can look back on in ten years and say "Yeah, that's a great game. I think I'll play it again, just because."

1. That the main character has character development, if that excludes me being able to customize him (pick race etc) I'm fine with that.

2. Don't use the narrative structure from DA:O and the ME-series. I don't want to be able to know the different bottlenecks in story before the game starts. Sometimes I also felt stories and characters was arranged into stereotypes to deliver a moral point, rather have people acting like a person.
Don't reward people for choosing category A answers for an entire game (Paragon), they are no "better" then they guy who mixes his answers depending on the situation.

3. Combat system.
No balloon bursting enemies 5 at a time. You are not giving me a more action by filling my screen with effects and gore if its achieved with a press of a button, action is taxing my brain with the game mechanics in a way that is easy to grasp but hard to master(has depth).

4. Level design.
Build the level first and then adapt the story to the level not the other way around. Kirkwall never felt as a city rather then a series of stages where parts of the story was told.

5. Animations.
Facial animations has never been good in BW games, which is surprising since you focus on RPG's. I just watched some dialog from DA2 and if i cover the mouths of the characters with my hand it hard to even know if they are talking or not, the rest of the face is pretty motionless.
Also don't let 80% of the dialog be two characters facing each other just standing still, let them walk, drink, eat, clean, read, climb, fish etc during the conversation.

1) Lots of dwarves.

2) More DA:O style conversations with the companions, talking to them whenever you want.

3) Villain with interesting personality and that actually have something interesting in mind.

4) New companions, not just old ones comingback, wouldnt mind them making cameos though.

5) More interesting loot, both DA:O and especially DA2 had that part a bit generic.

1. I want my warden and Alistair back. Party banter is also important.

2. Don't be lazy and recycle rooms/maps. Your creating a world for immersion, sofreaking give us one. On top of that not everyone is gay straight or bi, so how about you make the character love intrest a little less interchangeable. Also its going to have a mature rating anyway so don't skimp on the romance or the sex.

3. Let me customize my character, I like her to be unique, as do most players otherwise mods wouldn't exist.

4. More tactical combat.

5.Its time to see Tevinter Imperium.

(1) Combat that feels polished and dynamic.

(2) Romances that have genuine interest and intrigue - I wasn't quite feeling DA2's direction.

(3) Improved quests with better variety. About what arcanum had.

(4) A Graphical Overhaul, but it seems that one is coming true anyhow. Something on par visually with TW2 or the like would be sufficient.

(5) Sandal pulling a Conrad Verner "Take the Bullet" maneuver for the protagonist. Or something along those lines. "Poor boy... he's a goddamned hero in my book."

1. Great story with a lot of unexpected turns and twists.
2. Good romances with a lot of interaction through the whole game (something like a combination between DA:O and DA 2).
3. A lot of interaction between companions in general - party banter, etc.
4. Several endings varying from happy ever after to complete and absolute disaster and several in-betweens depending how we played the game.
5. Interesting side-quests.

1. Bring back Tactical isometric camera view from DA:O.

2. Realism. No anime style combat like in DA2 where you could fly around with a two handed sword like it was made out of cardboard, a two handed sword should actually look heavy like in DA:O.

3. A Great mature story that presents the player with complex, difficult choices that shape how your story plays out.

4. In depth characters, conversations and party banter, like in the good old games like Planescape Torment and Baldur’s Gate2. Remove the DA2 conversation wheel and take back the list of things to say from DA:O.

5. A world map like the one in Baldur’s Gate 2 with a lot of greatly designed areas that you can travel between as you wish once you have discovered them, and NO totally open world like for example Morrowind. Please emphasize on creating truly rich areas instead of a watered down open world, but please have cool encounters that can happen as you travel between areas.

6. I know it’s top 5 but I needed a 6 :P Please bring back the fully equip able and customizable party from DA:O.

1) Bring back the epic scale. DAO was awesome because you were travelling the land, exploring mini-stories within larger stories within larger stories... (for example, a side-quest in the Brecilian Forest while trying to stop the blight) - this approach worked brilliantly in all 3 ME games and in DAO, but for some reason was completely dropped in DA2.

In DA2, I didn't get to explore different areas or, to be honest, have any real sense of what the over-arching story was. These epic RPGs seem to work best when you have an epic over-arching story, split it up into a few different parts and give each part its own sub-story with its own location, then put various side-quests and main quests into that location. DA2 did the opposite by first inventing side quests, THEN trying to create areas for that side quest and this led to the problem where you had to repeat locations. If you made locations first that were large, then placed side quests inside those locations, you wouldn't have had that problem.

2) The return of a party camp-style area where you can talk to any of your companions at any time, as in the ME series and in DAO. Honestly, every ME game and DAO all got companions right - they were all together in a camp, could be spoken to at any time and were all interesting. In DA2, I didn't care about any of the companions for some reason.

Of all the games mentioned above, I was most attached to the DAO characters because of the large volume of what they had to say, but I'm aware this is probably not going to happen again because of the new emphasis on every conversation being custom animated and not just talking heads. DAO wasn't perfect though with this - the conversations should have opened up over the course of the game and not all at once based on approval rating.

3) Scrap the friendship and rivalry system. One interesting part of DAO was that when making a decision of what to do, you had to choose between the consequences of that action and the effect it would have on the approval ratings. For example, you could make a decision you don't morally agree with to impress Morrigan. And when talking to characters, you actually had to try to work out what that character wanted you to say based on their interests, so hooking up with a character seemed fairly challenging (or at least, it felt like it had arisen naturally through conversation) - this is very different to DA2 where everything you say and do is essentially a win for every character, and to hook up with somebody you just click the love hearts. I do prefer the gift system in DA2 over DAO though.

4) Import bugs - this is a big one. It seems like DAO and its expansions and DLC and DA2 totally messed up imports, and so I guess we can be thankful that DA2 didn't really use them. Either find a way to fix this, or implement into DA3 a way to tweak any imported variables at the import screen.

5) Don't retcon major DAO or DA2 decisions. My Warden went through the mirror with Morrigan at the end of Witch Hunt, after one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had through DAO, DAO: Awakening, Golems and then finally Witch Hunt, culminating in thousands of individual decisions that impacted the story. If you tell me that Morrigan is randomly back, don't explain where she went and that my Warden died because a rock landed on his head, I'll be pissed.

I would love (nearly all the above propositions) plus :

1) Dragon age 2 combat (perhaps just tweaking the 2 handed sword warrior, make it look like the sword was actually heavy, but please keep ranged combat, the bow was stunning and was not boring for me like in DAO)

2) No (or not more than DA2) auto dialog. Please don't do it like ME3. It really breaks immersion. But loved the fact that in DA" hawke would respond sarcastically/nice/cruelly to everything if we choose

3) Moral choices, and make them matter and have repercussions in the game

4) Rivalry and friendship system (or something similar). It's nice to be able to disagree or be mean to a character (the character could be mean and respond equally) without loosing him and all the personal quests.

5) Interesting characters, with personalities of their own. Some possibilities to influence their manner of thinking would be nice. (for example: Like a mercenary who thinks only of himself changing his attitude thanks to a nice protagonist or a contrario, a nice Templar who can be corrupted by a blood mage protagonist...)
