So don't play Bethesda games?

-The rebel mages seeking freedom.
-The rogue Templars trying to stop them
-The Chantry, who is probably trying to find some sort of middle ground to regain their martial power
-The qunari, whose spies have certainly noticed the turmoil and told the Arishok now's the best time to invade Thedas again.
I'd like it if we were able to choose and potentially change factions, and build up reputations among them.

If I can't wear awesome red robes through the whole game, I'll be very disappointed.

I don't. But at least their worlds look wonderful and are huge.
So, all in all, for 2-3 days of fun:
Huge and visually amazing shallow level scaled world with hack and slash combat. (BE) >> Minuscule and shallow level scaled corridors with hack and slash combat. (BW)

2. Infos on what happened to my Hawke and her LI.
3. Cullen. Oh wait. Uhm. Less painful French accents - especially since, well... ORLAIS.
4. Varied backgrounds for Hero - DA1's hero was mine, DA2's hero was someone else's.
5. Cullen! Oh, and more varied costuming options. Robes that don't look like other robes. Leather armor that looks different than other leather armor. Revealing plate with magical bubbles of spine protection.

Lots of constructive comments and ideas guys. Too many to comment on specifically but I’ll keep a close eye on this thread. Keep them coming in dot points guys
I hope you noticed the part where many, many, many of us want Cullen as a companion/LI
No but seriously, it's nice to know that someone is looking at all these great suggestions and hopefully some can be implemented into the game.

Something I think would be interesting to see. Specially since different people choose different characters. I'd love to see them really affect how you go through some of the general quests based on their personalities and talents that changes how you do that part of the story based on who you bring with you. Some might make it easier to get through an area for example. And others may draw their own problems into it and make it a fair bit harder. So that it doesn't feel like my party members are there just simply to give me tactical variety and I might have reason to say pick Vairic over Isabella other than one is ranged and one is melee.
And I honestly don't mean things simply like Anders switching sides simply because he's polarized to one over the other and I didn't like him enough or Isabella running off because I didn't talk to her enough times.
I mean more like things for example like searching for information Vairic may end up catching a piece from a shop vendor where as isabella in the group might spot and opportunity to take something that ends up being useful for the investigation in a different way or perhaps your taking Fenris through areas and he picks up that there's a magical affect and instead of going through a dungeon by course a you may find yourself going through it in a different way by course b and perhaps approaching some of the encounters differently because of that.

Just like it was in Origins. Not being able to move the camera freely was a major annoyance in DA2.
2. Less but better loot.
Get rid of all the ridiculous junk items - five rings named "Ring" with near-identical stats is silly. Look to the classics like the Baldur's Gate series to see how it's done. A powerful item should stay powerful for at least a major portion of the game.
3. Not a "Save the world from great evil"-plot.
One of the things I really liked about DA2 was how the plot didn't involve a great evil rising up to devour the world. More personal stories, like Planescape: Torment or Mask of the Betrayer, is what pulls me in.
4. Lots of companion interaction.
Let us get to know the companion NPCs through dialogue. And let them talk to and interact with each other, too.
5. More of that intriguing backstory.
One of my absolute favourite things about the Dragon Age world is the fantastic backstory you have created. I love learning about Arlathan, the Black City and the magisters, the Old Gods and so on. Show us some more of these things, and let us have some answers to the questions that pop up.

I would also like the companions to talk about the main chars responces to things in game I like the idea of them agreeing or dissagreeing with what we pick.
2.flowing hair and robes capes, more realistic graphics when it comes to the hair I know it sounds stupid but I spend ruffly three hours or more customizing my char beffore playing the game.
on that note, more hair styles and presets would be nice and the ability to change elf ears size shape and whatnot (if we are allowed to have our origin back)
3.if we can't have n origins style beging, at least let us pick background traits like in ME.
4. Players name, if we pick a renderd name I wish for the npc's to voice it, instead of calling me by my second name or giving me a nickname, im sick of it, whats the point of having a first name if no one ever mentions it?, three or five names would do to pick.
5.the ability to change my armors colours, I loved this in ME, pink armor was always my fav.

2. Choices with BIGGER consequences - example being Witcher 2, which takes the game in boldly different directions depending on choices, and aren't just microscopic changes in the greater sea of the story. Have choices that take us to different locations, meet different characters and effect our relationships with known characters even more.
3. Return to Isometric camera gameplay/tactics - The tactics needs to play a bigger role, I want to be able to bring the camera back to observe the battlefield and plan things out. Also I'd rather the animations weren't over the top such as Enemies exploding just by the strike of a sword, the kill animations in Origins were realistic enough without being too stupid. This leads onto my next point aswell...
4. NO MORE ENEMY WAVES - it completely throws planning out the window and just makes battles a bum rush of killing trash mobs as fast as possible. As suggested before beef up enemies a bit more and have more variants to encourage examination/experimentation of tactics.
5. Other playable races besides Human - I'd go as far to say that cutting Voice Acting for the main character in place of more playable races as a better option, in fact I can't imagine it being too hard to voice a Male and Female version of Human, Elf, Dwarf and Qunari.

2. Less paragon/renegade type decisions, more gray situations.
3. Tactical combat, no hack'n slash even on consoles. Auto-attack is must.
4. Lots of lore to read.
5. Intresting side quests. Intresting main quests are given.

2. Sea combat, how about little bit of pirate boarding style fights on Sea? (Maybe with Isabella)
3. Bring back some of the old class combinations like the dual wielder warrior, i wasn't that thrilled to find out that it was forgotten and Battlemages we need those.
4. Dwarven theme, i always thought of them as the technological race. Maybe they have some more nifty inventions hidden somewhere?
5. If you end up with "Factions" then make the npcs recognize you as it, Say you have to avoid templars so they won't end up attacking you because you sided with the rebelling mages.

2. Largely a continuation of 1) Absolutely no auto-dialogue. This is a deal breaker after ME3. (Absolutely is harsh, but get as close to that as humanly possible).
3. A full dialogue wheel, with more than 2-3 options at every turn.
4. Accurate depiction of what choices on the dialogue wheel will mean.
5. Return of past characters (Morrigan, Isabela, Merril, and Varric, especially).
If it's not clear, more than anything, I want control of my character. What Bioware did with Shepard in ME3 was incredibly, incredibly frustrating. I know you guys are a different team, but do not do that again in an RPG, ever.

2) More variety in enemies.
3) A little more exploration. Just a little!
4) Better flirt options.
5) Ghast companion! Even as DLC if need be.

1. Some way to consistently role-play a character of my own crafting. A silent PC would be preferable, but if they're going to fully voiced route, either let me read the full text, or let me rewind if I don't like what the player character has done/said. And no dominant personality system, as that just takes control away from me the player.
2. Make the world make sense to the player character. A blood mage casting blood magic out in the open should have consequences, and a mage shouldn't be required to wear robes and use a staff if they're afraid of being seen as a mage. Make the combat system symmetrical.
3. Give us good in-game reasons, from a character perspective, to do mandatory actions/quests. if we have to take a side, on an issue, there better be no choice but to choose, from a character's perspective.
4. Better documentation. I want to know how things are calculated so my character can make educated choices. This is particularly a problem in combat for previous DA games.
5. Don't center the combat around enemies that appear out of nowhere and respawn constantly. We need to be able to plan. Let us scout, setup ambushes and traps, and better position ourselves at least part of the time.
Seconded.
