Another feature that would be nice (Ive already written my 5 things heh) is the items descriptions, like DAO (and lots of other rpgs) had. In DA2 there where a lot of generic items with no story nor background, and just a few of them had a description. I like to read descriptions of my rings, swords, etc

1. Lots of compelling character customizations with a lot of depth.
2. Do away with stupid over-the-top, immersion-breaking combat animations, jumping all over the place, blood explosions and sound effects of DA2. Heard Laidlaw said they want to aim for stylish combat...I agree...but DA2 failed spectacularly in this regard.
3. Much improved tactical combat.
4. Conversation options like in DAO instead of dialogue wheel
5. No more teasing us about a game that it's going to be so so and so awesome, big and great. Which ended up fueling our imaginations and expectations and ended up being disappointed in the end. As an example, I can see this happening again with Mike Laidlaw saying that DA3's locations may taking up a huge chunk of Thedas, MUCH MUCH bigger than Ferelden alone. What bulls**t is this? You know, I was privy to some leaked info on DA3 that only I was aware of. I know all the major plot locations in DA3, it certainly DID NOT come close to cover that huge mass of land by so stop bulls**tting us fans. Stop these types of teasing, I don't care if you clearly mentioned all these are clearly speculative and the end product may not have this. The same types of teasing was used repeatedly in DA2, and look how the game failed us. If you're going to make that kind of teasing, which often balloons our expectations, you better damn well make sure you can back it up and be able to meet our expectations.

1. Playable Origins - multiple races/race-specific origins would be great, but just stuff to flesh out the background would be lovely as well. PC as a former templar leaving the order, or a thief in the city, or an apostate mage - whatever. That'd be cool.

2. Female Kossith - c'mon, great design. Use it! LI preferable, but I'd be happy to just see them at some point during the game.

3. classes/specializations having an impact on NPC reactions/conversations/choices

4. Lots of follower interactions. All bi LIs worked out great last time - although rivalry/friendship could use some tweaking. More conversations and in-depth follower storylines would be great.

5. Detailed character creation - darker skintones, more tattoo options, body type sliders (or class-specific statures), more varied hairstyles. Dragon's Dogma has a really great CC, for whatever that's worth...

No more pokect monster companions that are only released at camp. At least do it like mass effect 3. It was contrived but at least they tried. What's worse the companions are forced on you so I have to make a tough choice on who to keep in my pokeball to make the most narrative sense. Sten died because he wouldn't just take his freedom and had to insist on filling my poke roster.

Templars should look more like crusaders than warrior priests. It baffles me that we're expected to believe that they go to war with those massive skirts without fumbling over them, how do you even ride a horse with it?

Also, horses. They're mentioned but never seen. In orlias that is ruled by chavaiers, that would be unacceptable. Mounted combat would also be nice.

 1) The protagonist character should have better customization and a better backstory than Hawke. I refer to the choices I Had in DA:O. I could customize him the way I want, starting from his race. Also, if the protagonist is going to be a voiced character, please use better Voice Actors. Please!!!

2) Better party members. The only ones I liked were Fenris and Varick. And since I play as a heterosexual male, that meant I had to play DA2 without romancing anyone. Cause, really, a skinny blood mage or a woman who runs out of her sexual partners faster than I run out of cigarettes is not really my idea of an LI. Create better characters like Morrigan and Leliana. <3

3) Put a clearly defined plot. Not like, "Hello! I am the arishok. I will be the villain for 1/3 part of the game" or "hello! I am Anders! I like to go Osama when you're not looking."

4) Less reuse of the same world space maps. In DA2, I felt like I was fighting in the same place for hours. If you're going to re use the same maps, at least put in some different decorations, like trees, crates, rocks...so that the gamer don't feel like he is going back to the same spot again and again. (which they actually do in DA2):crying:

5) Combat. My biggest issue with DA2. When I first started Origins...the combat really made me angry. But during my second run, I found it really fun. When I experienced DA2 combat, it looked fun to begin with. Then I got bored with it. Mostly because the hacks and slashes are way too similer to Devil may Cry series, if you know what I mean. No one can swing a greatsword that fast. I want an option in between the two, or make the combat similar to origins. Not like DA2. Da2 combat sucked, for me.:pinched:

I could specify more, but since I only have the option to mention five. here they are. Better protagonist, better customization for followers, better plot, more free roam map, better romance-Origins style. Combat-Origins style. more interaction with the party. And finally. I'd be kissing your feet forever, if I can play as my Warden again.

1. More focus on RPG elements, less on action elements
2. Lots of customization
3. Deep immersion through a compelling story and interesting companions
4. An alternative to the dialogue wheel (I prefer written out text without icons)
5. Choices that matter

To sum it up: More DA:O, less DA2

1- I want Oghren and  Dog back , he was such an amzing character in DA:O, make him come back, or add new pets (Griffons?)

2 In Dragon Age Awakening, in Vigils Keep you had a series of side-quests, to improve your base, that later would be vital for the vigil to stand against the dark spawn. I would love to see some sort of forteress that you have that you can change an customize to your taste and envolve that with the story. For example: A random encounter in the road with a dwarf that is being attacked by bandits, you can either save him, or leave him, and if you save him in return he offers to go to your forteress and build a watch-tower, or some sort of asset.

3- In the forteress each of your companions, has it's own room, and you can talk to them anytime.

4- Remove the only three dialogue options from DA2. DA is not Mass Effect, I dont want to know if my choices are Good, Bad or Funny, the choices are not always black and white, I preffer to have a lot of sort of "grey" choices, that are not completly good or bad.

5- Make being a blood mage actually matter to the stroy

1. I'd like to know more about the current lore, a "big reveal" would be awesome! (what happened to Arlathan or where did the qunari come from, what IS Flemeth, for example).

2. I only want returning characters as party members if it makes sense. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! to have Nathaniel Howe as an LI, but not if his introduction is all, "Yeah, I happened to be in this area, wth is up, Inquisitor? Imma travel with you, ya dig?" I really have enough faith in you guys that if you decided to go with an all new cast, I'm sure it would awesome.

3. I think you guys are already working on this, but I'd like to see more diversified environments. DA:O felt so expansive and I think it had to do with the differentiating environments- it ‘felt’ like you took us all over Thedas even though we didn’t really leave our own backyard. I think I heard you guys are toying with an "open world" concept, but I don't think that would even be necessary if the environments stood out from one another. One thing I really disliked about Skyrim was how every town was pretty much the same rustic, snowy town as the next (with a few exceptions) whereas in Oblivion there was much more diversity. And I know, it made sense for the setting, that part of the world is cold, period…but eh, it got boring really quickly for me.

4. I’d like to see a little continuation from DAO and DAII, but only if it makes sense. While I loved my Warden Cousland- she’s not the queen and even then…I sort of feel like her role in history has been played? I don’t know what role the wardens in general would have in the next DA, assuming there’s a reckoning of the mages vs Templars vs Chantry falling apart sort of plot going on. (And maybe that’s assuming too much, idk). Hawke, on the other hand might make more sense because (s)he kind of ignited the fire and depending on her choices (kill/spare Anders, support mages/Templars), she could have a significant impact on how things are progressing.

5. This is small, but I LOVED reading the little bits of lore attached to some of the equipment DAA-style. Some of the stories were cool, some made me laugh, and some should have been accompanied by the X-Files theme as soon as you found them.

1. Voiced Protagonist

2. More customization for team mates

3. Restrict auto-dialogue

4. Decisions that have tangible and different outcomes on the story and world. Therefore having re-playability come back in to more then just one or two plays. I played DA:O five times and I struggled finishing DA2 twice. Although reuse of environments (trekking up Sundermont three times a playthrough wasnt fun. By the third time and felt like a chore) contributed to leaving the game in its case for over a year.

5. More Enemy diversity

1) A much more open information policy from the developer and some real announcements soon. Games like Chaos Chronicles and Project Eternity get me much more excited by delivering information, than mystery-shrouded DA3 right now. While I may not agree with all design choices done by the development teams, they hand out so much explantions, that I can understand every single choice they made. I really would like to have Bioware treat us this way.

2) A game, that is true to its marketing or vice versa. Both DA installments were bad in that case. I know that marketing has to exaggerate and I should not compare render movies to in-game graphics, but the feeling and the game mechanics should be the same. One example is the differing color scheme of Kirkwall or the vastness of the trailer compared to the enclosed spaces of the game. Another example is the Arishok battle, which feels plain wrong in the game compared to the trailer. If you want to look at DA:O instead, compare how Morrigan fought in the trailer compared to in-game.

3) Remove artificial limitations from the game. One example is allowing us to walk only on predefined paths vs. finding my own way in the wilderness, or travelling from one city area to another via a map. Another example is limiting certain classes to certain weapons. Everybody should be able to pickup a sword, but only a few should be able to handle it effectively. Looking at this from a different angle: Stick to the logic of the world, meaning for example that only a mage is able to use magic. A simple warrior sticking his sword in the earth should only result in a dirty blade, not 20 oponents flying through the air.

4) Give me a story I can follow and make me care enough to follow it. DA:O felt like an epic three part movie, with the exception that I could choose the order without loosing anything. DA2 felt like a 50 part tv series watched in a mixed-up order. Most of the time I had no idea what to do (or why) except running around, killing things and fed-ex lost item. As for the caring part, give me the feeling that I have an impact on the world, either small or large. If e.g. magic is forbidden and I cast a huge thunderstorm in a city, I expect a horde of templers to investigate. If I turn to blood magic I expect my party to react.

5) Focus the story on the fantastic and supernatural, it is a fantasy game after all. Basically  I don't care all that much about a civil war between mages and templars. That feels to much like a reality show, we got enough civil wars in real life, I don't need to play one in a game. The only thing that gets me excited about this is the possibility of really large battles. Instead I would like to explore themes like the darkspawn, Flemeth, whats going on with the dragons, the architect, Corypheus, Sandal and all these old gods. I'm pretty sure you can do this without to returning to the old "save the world from some terrible evil plot".

6) Finally give me romances that are romantic and mature. DA:O got this just right. It was simply marvellous how real and alive characters like Leliana or Morrigan seemed to me. I honestly only did a second playthrough of DA:O to romance Leliana instead of Morrigan based on the simple hope, that my warden might get a "and they lived happily ever after" ending with her. And for doing love scenes... please take a look at the Witcher 2, your game will be R rated anyway...

My five things
1.) a longer and better story than DA 2
2.) I want my choices to matter and i would like a branching storyline based on choices
3.) better villain because the villains in DA 2 were terrible. Most of them were insane
4.) I really want to see female dwarves make a return to the game
5.) I also really want a better combat system. No more swarms of enemies

1. Fully-voiced protagonist
2. Female dwarf and kossith
3. DA2-style romance options, i.e. all romancable for both genders
4. Limit the cameos and inside jokes ala "~swooping is baaad"
5. More diversity with all the races, companions and NPCs; I'd like my game to not look totally white-bread, lol.

I posted in this thread once already, but I had another small request/suggestion, and it seemed pointless to start a whole 'nother thread for it, so I'm just sticking it here.

In the event that we get a trailer for DA3, can it be more 'Urn of Sacred Ashes' and less 'Destiny'? Don't get my wrong, I loved the Destiny trailer. It was beautifully animated and the musical score in the background suited it perfectly, but it didn't really... showcase any of the characters besides Hawke and the Arishok.

Urn of Sacred Ashes, on the other hand, gave us appearances from Morrigan, Leliana and Sten while also demonstrating how their different classes (mage, rogue, warrior) would benefited combat.

I don't know, maybe I just miss getting character reveals in the trailer? XD lol

Would also be neat to get a female protag in the trailer since we got a male warden and make Hawke in the last two.

1. Playable Races (I want to be an elf and dwarf again!)
2. Alistair and Sten. (What happened to them?!)
3. Bann Teagan as a companion/LI.
4. Customizable companion leveling and armor. I missed it in ME2, ME3, and DAII. I love picking how they look and deciding which stats work best for them!
5. More conversations with and between companions. Flesh them out and make them characters about which you care, not just the LI but all of them.

Please bring Claudia Black back as Morrigan, Everyone will be against me, but I would love the option of playing Hawke again. You have already proven that you can voice different races and sexes in SWTOR, so I know Bioware can do both (meaning bring back Hawke and allow people to choose to play a voiced Hero {different races} from DA:O) Any chance of getting Felicia Day back? Isabela and Meril please. An update on Sten and Shale?  VARRIC and Oghren. More story DLCs (like one every six months) I promise they will sell.

-Qunari party member.(I think Sten was a pretty cool guy.  Eh doesn't afraid anything.)

-More large scale battles, not just one or two (similar to Warden Coalition marching on Darkspawn at end of DA:O)

-Visceral combat (running enemy through the gut with a sword aka bring finishers back.)

-No more bathrobes for mages, I really liked some of the mage armor from DA2.  (Clawed gauntlets, flowing sashes.)  **How about some capes, who doesn't like a good cape.**

-A modifiable "base" similar to that from DA:A.

1: The combat system making sense to me again - which is to say, smaller numbers, where it's easier to figure out where they are coming from. Having +100 instead of +50 to attack somehow feels more satisfying and interesting to me than having +1000 instead of +50. Generally more realism in combat would be great also. Less of teleporting rogues and all that.

2: Silent protagonist and text. I know, it is not going to happen, but I would feel dishonest leaving it off. Even being able to switch the voice off and see the the full text ahead of time would be great (in fact, having both options I think would be best - after all, I know there are people out there who like the voice and the wheel). Even having a few different voices to choose from would help tremendously. The sound, inflection and subtext of a voice is just such an important part of portraying a character that even with the the tone system it still feels like exactly the same person who just looks and sounds different every time, and it really restricts not only roleplaying but also replayability.

3: Being able to play an elf or a dwarf again. Since this to me is related, I'll put it in my same point - I'd like to see the elves go back more to their original design as well. I say it's related, not because I would rather play an elf like they were in Origins instead of DA II (though I would), but because I'm sure it would be easier to have elves playable if they used a more similar body mesh to humans.

4: Multiplayer in the style of Baldur's Gate would be awesome. It's been too long since there was a roleplaying game with that, in my opinion.

5: I think that being able to equip different armour and all on NPCs is already back, but if not, that would be right up there. If so, then this falls through to being able to change what type of weapons they use (helps replayability a lot for me).

And apparently I have more than five. Oh well.

6: Less class restrictions. Warriors, I feel, should be able to use any weapon. I like rogues being able to use some more weapons than they could in II also; and also armour. A rogue wearing heavy armour might not be a great choice, or a warrior wearing light armour, but I like it to be possible.

7: Seeing the effects of major happenings in the last two games would be neat. As part of the same thing, importing without any problems.

8: I'd really like to see the game taking place over a wider area, certainly than DA II, and also maybe than Origins. Going to a couple of different countries would be cool.

10: I much prefer the approve/disapprove system of Origins to the friendship/rivalry of DA II. It may be odd of me, I don't know, but I'd like the NPCs to be able to hate my character and really not get along with them, rather than just get along with them in a different way.

11: Being able to talk to the NPCs, at least a little bit, at any point would be awesome. Also in the vein of conversation, if there are going to be banters including the PC, I would really like to at least be able to select what the PC says.

12: Descriptions and histories on equipment, and more interesting names. I miss that.

13: Although not nearly as important as anything else on this list, I do miss the info sheet with number of kills and damage dealt and all that. It's interesting to look at, and especially with the whole social network thing, it's the most interesting thing to look at there.

14: Female characters looking/acting/sounding reasonable. By this, I mean none of that ridiculous running as in II, or the annoying idle animations, or any of that. And, if there must be only one voice for each, please don't have the female voice be someone who can't fit a more battle-hardened or hard-nosed kind of approach. This would be higher up, except that if it doesn't happen I'll just resign myself to playing only male characters.

I'll stop myself there before I really go overboard with this.

(Edit: Forgot about the copy/pasting formatting problem.)

I like this idea. And have the room reflect their personality/character
