1. More area's of Thedas, I loved venturing through out Ferelden, Kirkwall got boring and repetitive
2. It sounds like you guys are bringing back being able to use found armour on companions (and making them personalized) which is great, there was nothing more irratating to me in DA2 than finding a set of new armour only to have to sell it because I was a rogue and it was designed for a warrior.
3.More depth in side quests like Orgins , in DA2 you'd find an object then an indicator would pop up on your map to deliver it to a character you never talked to before to bring it to them and get rewarded. Either you should have to talk to the person who you are doing the quest for or eliminate it completely.
4.Get rid of the new elf design, elves are supposed to be thought of as beautiful and desirable...DA2 elves were neither.
5.I like where the story is going with the Mages-Templar war...I'd like more Flemeth storyline as she is obviously a big part of what is going on....and of course the return of Morrigan.

1. Returning DAO & DA2 party member cameos, with dialogue that reflects the choices you made in their respective games. Also, unique comments if you romanced that character(s).

2. Continue where DA2 started with the class & personality-specific dialogue wheel options. This increased replayability & encouraged variety. Also, the dialogue wheel options that allowed you to defer to a party member.

3. If they stick with the Rivalry/Friendship determing whether characters are romanceable or stay in your party (*cough* Isabela), PLEASE give an option to gain points through gifts as a last resort. I don't care if it's DLC (like they did in DAO) or if it costs an exorbitant amount of in-game cash to purchase from a vendor. Some sort of fallback plan would be nice.

4. More explorable areas. Not just in the amount of new settings, but in the variety. A mountain area, a desert, a snowy forest area, a marshland, various cities with differing climates...

5. An "evil" character. I know Bishop from Neverwinter Nights 2 (which is not a Bioware property, but he's the best example) was brought up a lot before the release of DA2, but a character with his sort of dubious morals would be welcome. Not someone you can "cure with love", but who sticks to his repugnant guns.

A body slider in the character creator.

I know BW have said that (at least in relation to the Mass Effect series), that the female characters were given boots/heels to make them taller to make it easier for the models to interact, so maybe it is the same for the Dragon Age series.

So assuming that there couldn't be a height slider (which I would still want, to allow you to change your character's height a few % above or below the average), could there at least be a body type slider?

Make the character slightly thinner, or slightly chubbier or slightly more muscular than the base?

1. Leliana either as a party member (most preferable) or as a major, frequently-appearing NPC.
2. Real choices that affect the game, coupled by excellent conversations with party members and other characters in the world - in other words, more in-depth RP. Detailed romances would be a major plus.
3. Customizable robes, armour, etc. with many different looks and styles.
4. Lots of explorable areas, with an open world, freedom to move around, and no (or at least few) repeat maps.
5. At minimum- cameos by old party members, and hopefully some of them as party members in the new game, although I'd love a few new, interesting companions.

I think a body slider would be cool! I suspect a height slider would create problems in cutscenes, for exactly the reason you describe (I've heard BioWare developers say that creating cutscenes with different camera angles to show elven and dwarven PCs interacting with NPCs in DA:O was time-consuming), but I could see a body type slider being implemented.

In an ideal world, though, it would be fun to be able to create a human character who's short like me (I'm 4' 8") .

1. No button-awesome mentality
2. Branching dialogue trees (as in, no dialogue wheel)
3. Drastically reduce the number of enemies appearing, but make them deadlier (also no "waves" of enemies, that was just ridicolous)
4. Different classes
5. Tone down the whole romance-thing. If it must be there, make it more of a background-thing, not something that jumps in your face as soon as you speak with someone

1.) Elves look more like they did in Dragon Age 1. (Please explain that the years during DA2 the Elves caught some kind of disease and mutated to look like Deer but it has since been cured and they look more or less like their petite humans with pointed ears look.) no more Deer Eyes for the Elf Guys. Also put some curves on those female elves, thought I was looking at anorexic hookers in DA2's brothel.

2.) Multiclassing: Seriously, I can understand fighters and rogues not being able to multiclass into mage, but I can't for the life of me not see why a mage wouldn't learn how to fight without their magic if by using their magic when its what gives them away as dum dum dum!!!! MAGES! heck maybe fighters and rogues just discover their magic
later or put off mage training for other pursuits while learning just enough to stave off fade demons/spirits.

3.) Multple Origins: Play as a male or female Elf, Dwarf, Human, Qunari (i forget the horn-heads actual race name.), as well various background options to explain current life, like in origins.

4.) Female Hawke as a love interest: Seriously, while DA2 had it's problems Female Hawke was both pleasant to look at and listen to. Make her a DLC companion and I'd buy that in a heart beat, especially if whatever class you picked for her carries over, or better yet so does her appearance.

5.) Mass Effect 3 third person view for combat. I know, I know this sounds like blashphemy but i've come to love ME3's combat system, and in a game like DA where mages are pretty much ranged artillery i could see them playing that way, while unloading staff blast, and unleashing powerful destructive spells as unique cooldown abilities. Also because I don't like the over-head/3/4 overhead view from the previous DA2 and when it wasn't over head it still looked a little choppy, hits didn't realistically register on the enemies or hawke&co.

1. ALL THE FREEDOM. Player agency, choices matter, you can change the world, start wars, destroy magic forever... Well, okay, not that extreme, but the more meaningful choices the better.

2. More excellent NPCs! Interesting and sympathetic characters have always been Bioware's greatest strength, so naturally I'm looking forward to seeing all the people we'll get to meet this time around.
2a. I would however prefer not to have cameos by old characters. It makes me sad to interact with an old friend through the eyes of someone who doesn't know him/her. For example with Anders I kept wanting to share with Hawke everything the Warden knew about him, which was obviously impossible, but since I was the Warden before I was Hawke it was also impossible not to let my previous knowledge of him affect how Hawke treated him. And seeing Zevran but not being able to give him the hug he clearly needed wasn't so much bittersweet as just plain bitter :/ If old characters must return, I'd prefer they be changed so much that previous knowledge no longer really applies, or the new PC is given the opportunity to know everything about them that the Warden/Hawke knew.
2b. Part of this is being able to talk to companions and question them on various topics whenever I want to! I really, deeply hated the way DAII forced me to have three enormous conversations per act, instead of allowing me to develop relationships at my own pace.

3. A toolset and the return of mods. Mods are what keep me coming back to DA:O even after all this time. Not that the core game isn't great, but you can only do so many playthroughs as a rogue/mage/warrior seeing the exact same areas and completing the exact same quests before you're willing to sacrifice your firstborn for the chance to change things around a little.

4. A worthy main character. Quite a few people considerably more intelligent and eloquent than myself have explained elsewhere why Hawke was both too pre-formed and too much of a blank slate at the same time. So I won't go into that here, but I'll just say that since we're clearly going to be stuck with a voiced, pre-created protagonist, I'd like to see some improvements. I want him/her to have a well-defined background at the start of the game. I don't care if I get a ME1-style read-and-select-your-story screen, just give me a good idea of exactly whose shoes I'm stepping into before tossing me into the world. While it was an interesting change of pace to start DAII in media res, I really do prefer a few minutes' calm before the storm to get my bearings and get to know the new PC. Also, please make the new PC at least as badass as Shepard =) Hawke was pretty cool, but s/he simply wasn't cut from the same cloth as previous Bioware heroes, and I'd like to have that sense of being a kickass world-shaker again.

5. Detail. Not graphics, but little things like giving two coppers to a beggar, buying a bar because the owner's a useless lout, bugging people with pointless questions that lead nowhere important, a blacksmith arguing with his partner, having your companion bribe someone with cookies. The things that show that time and love went into making the game.

There's more where that came from, of course, but I wrote down the first five things that popped into my head, in order =)

1. Being able to edit the settings and flags when importing them into DA3.
2. Customizable items, especially as to colour.
3. Item descriptions and the elimination of trash items.
4. Attractive elves.
5. Sentient beings as the Maker created them, present in game in both male and female forms.

This is a great idea OP! Sorry for the length but I hope it is understandable and easy to read. ^_^

1. The return of the Mirror of Transformation!

I loved this thing, I thought it was one of the greatest things added to the franchise and to the over all role-play experience. It added an extra dimension of role-playing. I loved having the option to change things about my character ever so often, since it spanned over 10yrs, things change and that should reflect my character. I always have problems making my protagonist the first time and when I hit accept I always find something wrong with the character and having to fix it so this mirror saved me hours of going through the opening sequence again and again to make the character I wanted. Just please bring this back! :P

2. The return of the Friendship and Rivalry system and locked in Friendship and Rivalry Scores.

I thought it added to the game immensely. I would go through the game again just to see all the different ways I can influence my characters through both paths. Please never go back to the dislike system of DA:O, I liked how even though I can disagree with their morals and such we can still become mutual friends that respected each other. Now I can actually say what my character actually wanted to convey without worrying I might lose approval points.

As a side note please keep locked in Rivalry and Friendship scores. It made it incredibly easier to manage who to bring to quests in order to get them all at the highest possible scores needed for locked down status. I hated having said one thing wrong in DA:O only to lose approval and me having had run out of gifts to give. <_<

3. A fix for broken import flags.

I know Mr. Laidlaw had said they were looking into fixing the broken import flags but I just want to stress how important it is for continuity and for the series in the long run. Especially for a series such as Dragon Age. If there are import bugs now it will affect future titles and become a snowball effect of broken imports that will be harder to fix in the long run. If they are dealt with now it prevents such a snowball effect from occurring. I know you don't need me or other fans to tell you that but I just wanted to make sure you guys were reminded of it and that it is important to people.

I know for me at least I love the idea of having your decisions from previous games carrying over to future titles. It is what made me get interested in Dragon Age to being with. So when things like Zevran sleeping with Isabela even though he romanced my Warden occur it bothers me and gives me a distaste to continue playing such a play-through. Especially knowing that the bug could possibly carry over. I know things like this can't always be prevented but there has to be some way, perhaps a simpler solution to store imports.

4. The return of the class & personality-specific dialogue wheel options.

I think it still needs to be perfected but I think it is going towards the right direction and hope it is present in DA3.

(a) Aggressive Hawke was awesome and I loved playing her/him. Especially with a romanced Isabela.

(B) Diplomatic Hawke though I found quite boring at times. She/he was a bit dull. Is there anyway to make her/him a bit more lively? I don't want to say like Paragon Shepard but it would be nice if she/he was more headstrong and idealistic. I don't know, I can't put my finger on what I want from a diplomatic protagonist but I think maybe a more balanced character that embodies a little bit from each personality trait (diplomatic, sarcastic, aggressive) could possible be a good way to go. I leave it to you guys to figure out. :P

© Sarcastic Hawke. Oh please, please, please bring back the humorous protagonist. I adored sarcastic Hawke to pieces she/he was incredible. don't lose it please. :P

5. A selection of background profiles for the protagonist.

I did enjoy DA2's way of having a family complete with siblings and a mom that were more then just mentioned but part of the characters life. However I missed having a background of my own choosing for my protagonist. For example in Mass Effect Shepard could be either a war hero, a sole survivor or ruthless. I'd like for some extent to be able to have some choice on the background of my character that helps establish the protagonists views and experiences.

That way I can take those things into account when figuring out how my protagonist will act and interact with others. It establishes bias's, likes and dislikes for the protagonist that helps define my character. Which I missed in DA2.

Toss everything from DA2 and go back to DA1, DA2 felt like I was watching a soap opera a bad one at that instead of a game that I hoped that I would enjoy playing like the first. The edgy, in your face combat felt weird and out of sorts, Hawke and Co. fighting intensely despite the fact the were doing piddly amounts of damage or boss/monster has so much hp after while and much clicking you begin to think this is stupid.

These have probably been mentioned already, but I'm really not going through 40 pages to check.

1. I really liked in DA2 the way your character's scripted dialogue would change slightly to reflect your personality as determined by previous choices. Please keep that.

2. Please keep and even expand on the use of icons to show how a dialogue is to be phrased (threatening, charming, joking, romance etc.) while continuing to move away from outright good guy answer/bad guy answer/neutral answer dialogue options.

3. Please stay with a voiced player character, but if possible allow more customisation. Just because the player has a name and a voice doesn't mean we can't choose their species, right?

4. Please don't go back to stacking combat commands. DA2 combat was much better.

5. Please either import our choices fully, or not at all and start from scratch. My least favourite thing about DA2 was supposedly being able to import my continuity from Origins, only to find that a bunch of significant events were just ignored. For example, dead characters suddenly not dead. It really made importing multiple saves seem that little bit more irrelevant.

1. Race selection. I think its so boring to play human all the time. I always go for an elf or dwarf if there is a chance.

2. Strategic slower paced combat with tactical camera option like in DAO. More preset a.i tactical option how to control you party like in DAO. Line formations like in baldur's gates would be nice too. And please don't overuse the silly enemy wave scenarios.

3. Backround stories It obviously can't be like in orgins, but something similar. Like if you were a mage class, your story would start differently than if you were a rogue. :)

4. More non-linear and dynamic gameworld for us gamers to explore and experience. I think this area of gamedesign where you guys can easily surpass anything you have ever created before. Only the sky is limit.

5. Such a tiny feature like secondary weapon slots added so much depth to combat as you were able to change your party'sweapons into ranged or something else (swords to blunt for example) on the fly. I cannot understand why on earth they discarded this feature in DA2.

2. Better character developement, party banter and better romances.
3. A voiced character with a few more options in the dialogue wheel, perhaps?
4. The mirror of transformation.
5. More places to visit.

1. In the character creator, I would very much like to have height and and body type sliders. At the very least, give us a selection of body types to choose from, like swtor.

2. Give us additional ways to solve encounters besides combat, combat, and more combat. Fallout 3 and Fallout NV were great at this. For example, one could avoid a lot of fights with a high speechcraft and high charisma. Please make it tied to the abilities of the character. This way all characters won’t be alike (helps replay).

3. Bring back stealth and scouting. I always liked to look ahead to plan the battles.

4. Was that really an inventory system in Dragon Age 2?

5. I really like the ideal of managing a home keep like in NWN 2 and Awakening. So, if that had more depth and activity, it could really add lots of fun and diversions!

  • Dynamic and/or unique environments - different areas that are distinct from each other, and if time passes, revisted areas that evolve to indicate that.
  • More cross-class weapon sharing.  I'd love to see a return of the Arcane Warrior specialization, but failing that some other way for a mage to carry a sword would be nice.
  • More dragons.
  • Returning characters as cameos - as much as I'd love to see favourite characters return, that gets into the whole "but she/he died in my game!" drama.  Plus the idea of imports creating different little moments of humour is gold - it's a little thing, but it's memorable.  I was totally amused to see drunk Alistair in one DA2 playthrough and then the king in another - I'd love to randomly find a snarky Hawke making out with Isabela on a pile of gold in one game and then an agressive Hawke fighting off templars with Anders in a cave in another (and so on with all the variations).
  • Mulitple ways of completing quests - stealth, persuasion, bribes, flirting, whatever.   There was a little of that in MotA, but only within very narrow boundaries - expanding on that would be excellent

1. Companions that have character development that does not center around romance
2. Healthy relationships that don't demean or undermine female characters or become the basis for their existence in game
3. A more matured visual language in game and character design; the stylization route they took in DA3 wasn't horrible or anything but I feel like it could use some improvement
4. The option to play as an elf or drawf or maybe qunari
5. Or a qunari companion (having a lady qunari would be great but just having one in your party in general would make me really happy)

1) I want it to capture (or improve) the great, great atmosphere of DA:O. Many locations were truly memorable. Some scripted scenes that came out of nowhere (Hespith) really added to the overall feel of the world. The atmosphere didn't require great graphics or tons of cinematic interruptions. The deep roads for example, they were very eerie and disturbing. The atmosphere wasn't forced on me, I just...got to experience mysel, If you know what I mean. I read the texts, books, took breathers during tough fights, got into the mood myself. The game allowed and encouraged that, it didn't spoon-feed me.

Also, DA:O did a fine job in tying up many of the smaller quests into the bigger ones, instead of all of them feeling like "just another side quest which I don't really want to do but I quess I want some stuff". Those kinds of things help you to relate, and make you care, make your interest grow. They help to make sense of what's happening.

2) Keep the dialoque believable. In games like Oblivion, you hear life stories from random encounters for no reason just to justify a side quest. Nobody cares about these - except when the characters are well written and nothing is force-fed by spoon.

In DA:O, there were many dialoques between the player and, for example, Alistair and/or Morrigan, that weren't always warranted but they made the characters feel real. Some of the jokes were actually good, and some of the heavier stuff was good too. These characters were well written and exceptionally well voice-acted. You could "feel" for example, Morrigan, she was exceptionally well written and acted. Nothing was spoon-fed about her, many things were left in the dark. Yes, she was my love interest. I really did feel a little of that "she's basically good beneath that cold exterior, I want to save her"-kind of affection. Yes, real feelings, in a game. Wow.

3) Don't force every larger-than-world decision to the player. In DA:O, I didn't really care about the political feud in the dwarf city, but I was destined to decide who becomes the king. Same with the landsmeet, it feld odd that I had to choose the king (or queen), I'd rather have passed the decision to someone else, to someone I trust perhaps. A minor thing, I know, but I hope the many little choices will play a big part of the game, not just some obvious huge ones.

4) Please, don't focus on making the game a sandbox. I hope DA:I isn't trying to please everybody and eventually turn out to be an Elder Scrolls game. Dragon Age's strength's are:

- The story. The lore.
- The characters and Interaction between the characters.
- The combat, especially in DA:O. It seemed hard at first, but provided so many different tactical elements that it became very exciting.
- The character creation and the skill trees, the many possibilities.
- The atmosphere, the DA mood. Certain conversations, amazing music, certain small "find it yourself"-quests, the times you're reminded by past events...the feel of an adventure, not just running and gunning all the time without no reason.

5) For the love of everything that is good, do not force a multiplayer mode in the game. If people want that kind of crap, it should be another title.

---------
Hmm, I think that's it, at least what came to my mind. Huge fan of DA:O, didn't buy the second one, a couple of friends told me what it's like and I figured I wouldn't like it. Anyway, DA:O is the best role-playing adventure ever for me. I cannot remember another game that sucked me so deep into it's world.

So, fingers crossed. Good luck everyone on the development team on making the right decisions with the game. May your coffee and pizza be plentiful and nourishing.

2. A single player only game, no MP please
3.More of Fiona (and another character, if that's possible...)
4. A Morrigan / Flemeth showdown would be epic

All I want is a Mel Brooks "The History of the World, Part 1" Inquisition reference or full blown musical number.

Or is that just me?
