1. Cullen as a companion
2. At least mention of the OGB storyline and what happened next... Optional side quest, totally cool!
3. I'd like to meet Justinia V. She seems totally fascinating!
4. Um, Cullen as a companion... did I mention that?
5. Even more mage pants.

I want to see a change to thieving then the city guards need to come after you and put you in jail. If i go into shadow mode or stealth mode and steal I get away with it. Make the game have more consequince of your actions, need a quicker action responce to the actions you take. Im in a new city hawke or not I answer the law of that city. This was a big miss in da2

1. I would love to see more party banter. And more recognition of LI choices in this, it's the one thing I've always found lacking from the party banter, LI are rarely, if ever, mentioned by the other party members.

2. More things Mage, cuz you know... magic rules! I'd like to see some awesome new spells (which I'm sure will be a given anyway) as well as some of the old ones, winters grasp, cone of cold, stone fist, love em! More spell combinations would be great too.

Also I'd love to see some mage specific armor other than just hoods and robes. I like to go the "Battlemage" route and it would be great to have some specific armor to go with this.

3. More places to visit please! I just don't think I could cope with being restricted to one city again. And maybe a little more variation in environments, every cave and basement looked the same in DA2!

4. Kill animations would be great, we did kind of get this in Origins and it would be awsome to see more in Inquisition, leaping on ogres was great fun. I've been playing a lot of Fallout and Skyrim lately and I think I've been spoiled by their awsome kill shots! :)

5. More consequence from our choices! Again this was touched upon in Origins and DA2 but I'd really like to see and hear much more about the choices and consequences we have made in the game. Things like random bandit attacks for taking out a Jarvia(esque) character, random acts of kindness like sticking up for you from people whose husband/wife/kid you saved. And lots more physical changes to the environments we will hopefully re-visit to show that we are in an ever changing world!

All of these would be great but I'm really just looking forward to playing whatever you come up with Bioware. Just please deliver the awesome game I know you can make! :)

I have to agree that there was a lot less party banter in DAII.  I also would prefer they did not trigger at exit points!  I missed things because I could not back out fast enough.  Let the trigger points be where we will hear it and not be overwhelmed by battle noise or cut short by travel.

And I think the werewolf arc was one of the few things that were dependent upon what you did in Origins, that and meeting up with Nathaniel Howe.  Those were decent but I agree, it would be nice to see the city elves becoming confident because there is a city lorekeeper, or getting to hire Isabella to get you through a blockade, Anders helping organize mage resistance, or to read the latest volumes of Hard in Hightown from Varric, wherever you are.  Morrigan and her child showing up with their storyarc, or seeing what happens to the Grey Wardens after their 30 years are up or after releasing the possessed warden in Legacy.  Hmmm, I guess there is also that whole thing with the demons possessing templars still lying on the table and the mages being able to be possessed despite being made Tranquil.  Yeah, there are a lot of quests we had and people that lived/died that could have a great impact on the game world.  I want to see it play out as well!  ^-^

(These are not in any particular order.)

1) Better-looking characters. I don't know what the engine will allow, but I do hope it will be better than what we had in Dragon Age II. I was happy with the CC of Origins, especially with the toolset.

2) The choice to be coy in a relationship. Sure, there should be the choice for being flirtatious, as well, but I prefer to play most of my characters a bit more subtly - and have someone else make the suggestions. The Alistair romance in Origins had this right, but in DAII I felt like I had to make all the moves.

3) I'd love to see my PC in a vulnerable position for once. You know, getting caught, being beaten. (And then saved by your LI... cheesy, I know :D) I love a strong character, but a twisted part of me just wants to be tortured by the bad guy.

4) Cullen as a companion. He's one of those NPCs that you don't see much of, yet they really spark your imagination. It'd be awesome to finally get a fully fleshed-out version of him.

5) Please do something about the party selection screen. I loved how it looked in Origins, but in the second game it just looked... cheap, I guess? :( Little details like this matter.

5 more:

1. A brilliant and enganging story, that lets me set the course of it myself and preferably lets me decide between essential philosophies: Chantry/Qunari/Free Mages and the sort.

2. Music is so essential to a story driven experience, that you should accept nothing but the best it can be.

3. Characters have to go beyond the usual "sinister but funny assassin" or "honorable warrior", feel like real people and have defining details about them. Also lots of background and things I can converse with them about.

4. Hawke/Warden as Companion, characterized through your actions! Now wouldn´t that be reflective and AWESOME!

5. On my first point, please also let the story be so unique as to NOT include a usual "bring all cultures together to fight bigger threat" and a villain/opposing side with identifiable motivations.

I would love to see a stickied, BW-only FAQ for DA3:I especially now that some of the BW folks have been giving definitive answers on things that keep popping up after (and flying off the front page).

Things like (so far confirmed in posts around the BSN):
  • Is there MP? Yes. -DG
  • What's it like? We're not telling yet. -DG
  • Is Anders dead if we killed him? Yes. -MK
  • What about Justice? <no answer at the time of this post>
  • What about Duncan? Dead. -DG
  • Are you sure? Yes. -DG
  • Is there a dialog wheel? Yes. -DG
  • Is the protagonist voiced? Yes. -DG
  • Can we opt to keep the protagonist silent? No. -DG
  • Are there romance stories? Yes. -DG
  • Are they all bisexuals? <have seen support for it from BW folks, but not yet found a definitive answer>
... and stuff like that.

1 - Definitely would like to see some returning characters. i.e. Morrigan, Varick, Merrill, and possibly even Hawke or the Warden.

2 - To see the outcome of our decisions throughout the previous two games. And I don't mean like little lines that might or might not be there depending on something you did earlier, I mean remarkable differences. Like maybe whole levels or missions possibly not being there or possibly being added, stuff like that.

3 - Good Multiplayer. If Multiplayer MUST be incorporated into DA3 make sure it's done so well, and so integrated into the core gameplay that it's almost something you don't even notice. Kind've like how Baldur's Gate did it.

4 - Exploration... Exploration, exploration, exploration... Need I say more?

5 - More customization options. Heard mention that we might be able to change the color of our armor and such, much like ME2. That would be perfect.

1. More tactical combat: no endless waves from every direction, slightly slower pace to make positioning more important, more "punch" to the various spells and abilities (for example, blizzard in DAO takes a warm-up to cast, but is sufficiently devastating that it can change the battlefield).

2. Some normal mages and templars (not everybody has to be either a demon-worshipping blood mage or think that all mages should be exterminated).

3. Choices that can cause actual plot forks, as opposed to slightly different responses in dialog.

4. Tactical combat camera that isn't locked to the currently controlled character. The isometric camera in DAO was great, but I'd settle for just being able to pan around a little so I could place my area-of-effect spells/abilities better.

5. More areas to explore than in DA2. I liked the area variety in Origins, it would be nice to see a similar variety in locations in 3.

(6: Toolset support? Pleaseeee?)

There is one thing I want.

If two companions have the option to romance each other if they are not romanced by the protagonist, I want the ability to have an official* threesome with them. People wanted to see that with Fenris, Isabela and Hawke.

*Unlike the on the side threesomes with Isabela in DA:O and Zevran in DA2.

I'll list my 5 things that I want, hopefully someone at bioware will listen this time.

1) No more copy & pasted areas. You know what I mean.
2) Bigger world. Do not limit the player to a city.
3) Do not make enemies fall out of the sky again.
4) Make the game more like DA:O. That game was awesome. DAII not so much.
5) Turn down the combat speed and please stop the button mashing madness.
6) Get rid of the mass effect wheel. It's still retarded.

I don't totally hate the waves. I liked the use of them in some spots - the waves of anti-Qunari followers in the underground worked well. A lot of the time what galls me is in something like Jarvia's hideout where I am massacring people 5 meters from their friends and they do nothing except wait for me to come to them.

That said, the waves were something, like so much in DA2, that weren't an awful idea but they were awfully implemented. I like people running down corriders to reinforce a battle. I  don't like paratroopers dropping in from the skies.

1. Awesome story like in DA:O, I enjoyed DA 2 but the story seemed kinda either this choice or that (mage or templar)
2. Better combat system, playing on console DA:O was extremely difficult to have party members follow tactics, I'm sure it was good on PC but it didn't work for consoles, DA 2 on the other hand was too button mashy, I'm not gonna lie I'm really hoping for a Kingdoms of Amalur combat system, one where we can finally block, or better yet a combat system like Dragon's Dogma, loved the combat system in DD and hope it can appear in DA 3 but hopefully a dodge/roll like in ME 3, or maybe even a combat system like the Witcher 2
3. More dialogue when talking to party members
4. A main character that has their own story like in origins, I was pretty upset when we were forced to be Hawke
5. Return of old many of the old characters, but bring them back for significance not a one off conversation like in ME3

I don't understand the complaints about combat speed. The game has a pause option, which I utilize on a very regular basis. If anything the combat should be faster.
And yeah, unless they absolutely plausible from the plot perspective, like if the party is defending a location, the attack waves should go away. I'd rather face 20 guys while having a chance to make a decent attack plan, than to fight 3 waves of 8 guys where all the effort I spent on positioning goes to crap and my mages and archers gets curbstomped...

Yes, this was my experience as well.

I played DA2 combat encounters the same way I played DA:O combat, constantly pausing and micromanaging every single party member action. The only difference was that it was actually more challenging and a bit more strategy was involved in planning for cross class combos and longer potion cooldowns, etc., not to mention dealing with stealth enemies. (And of course there were also some crazy animations.)

In DA:O the combat on Nightmare was too easy IMO, as you could easily spam cheap healing potions with negligible cooldown to get through any battle. In DA2, I died a lot on Nightmare.

I'm so glad this thread exists. Here are my top 5 things I'd like to see in Dragon Age 3: Inquistion:

1. A story that's on a large scale.

I want to actually feel like I'm saving the world, not settling a city's political disputes. Let me not feel constrained, and instead having the freedom to really get a feel of the game's world. I don't want an actual open world like Skyrim, but environment variety is the spice of life, or in this case, RPGs. When I see the world I'm traversing, I in turn get more invested in the battle to protect it.

2. Characters that are genuinely flawed.

Recent Bioware games (Mass Effect 2 onwards) have tended to have characters that are basically super heroes, being very powerful and in control. I prefer the more flawed allies that games like Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age Origins had, because it made the squad assembling feel more natural and it actually made sense why the main character was in charge. There's nothing wrong with having allies that aren't very powerful at the start. After all, gaining strength throughout a journey is one of the cornerstones of role-playing games.

3. Combat that isn't simplistic.

Dragon Age II's combat was pandering to the lowest common denominator to the point of it being embarrassing. I'm not saying I need 80 menus and 5,000 spells, but at least return us to the tactical feel of Dragon Age Origins. If people want to play action RPGs, they can play Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma. Let's let Dragon Age satisfy our tactical needs. That's not to say that improvements shouldn't be made, so long as the tactical core remains untouched.

4. Cities that actually feel like cities.

I'm told that Dragon Age II took place in a city, but I find that hard to believe given how dull, clean, and lifeless it was. The excessive fragmentation and long load times between sections didn't help either. I would like to see cities that feel alive and have unique identities, like the Assassin's Creed cities or the Sigil from Planescape: Torment. You can even look at a game like Xenoblade, which had huge, detailed environments despite being a Wii title.

5. Characters with meaning, and romances that are memorable because of that.

Characters that matter are what make RPGs stick with me. It's something Bioware has, with the exception of Dragon Age 2, done a great job with. I'm sure some will disagree and say DA 2 had a great cast, but in my eyes, it was lacking. (Although I liked Merrill and Varric) One big problem I had with it was that the romance options in Dragon Age 2 had such a jarring detachment from Hawke's story. It never really made sense to me why they were even there most of the time. I felt like DA 2's characters and DA 2's story were come up with by two completely different groups who weren't communicating with each other at all. I want to feel like my allies have just as much of a stake in what's going on as I do, which in turn makes romancing one ( or two ;D ) of them feel more meaningful, and representative of them being in the fight together. In DA 2, the romance felt incredibly forced and devoid of a point. I believe that Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will benefit greatly from having characters woven into the fabric of the plot itself, not just plunked down as an additional, "Hey, there's romance too!" side plot.

That's all I've got. If you read all of this, I am honored.

All the best,

-Eric

  •  i like the stylized combat of DA2 and miss the special kills of DA:O
  • a more updated look and graphics.
  • more in-depth relationships and romance scenes like witcher 2 at least. bisexuality included...make us work for it. like allow the PC to be adventurous, flirty, serious, kind, smart/wise, worldly, or well-learned. friends and rivals can challenge from time to time but they wont attempt to kill you unless you do something too good or evil for them to understand and they challenge you might be forced to kill them or get them to understand through diplomacy or sarcasm/stand down based on your friendship/rival score
  • The mage class needs to be unnerfed. as in tempest's original look and inferno back. arcane warrior back and some new types of specialization for mages. keep reaver and assassin for the other two classes plus more specialization in armor and an actual crafting system and allow the npc's wear armor and allows customization. You can enter the fade at your own will or through a companions help(a second specialization that unlocks afte certain conditions are met), you can make or break deals with demons and even meet spirits by through certain merits you gain a skill no matter the path you chosen each skill should vary though. Dual-wielding weapons or a long sword and staff style, and maybe crossbows?
  • An expansive world as in orlais, tevinter, seheron, fereldan(now), all of the free marches, anderfels, and the avvars. i would love to see antiva and rivaini too. be able to own a boat or even be able to earn my own plot of land or buy a plot or even build an army of your own by creating alliances and maybe starting a settlement of your own and such for continued play and your town has upgrades of its own. maybe even visit or see The Maker and the golden city/black city and dialogue with him/her/it. maybe even see the realm of the dead also, that part of the fade.  :innocent::devil:

Definitely Solivitus, the herbalist. He is a must :D

1. A central meeting point like the camp in DA:O. Something intimate.

2. More displays of public affection.

3. Dialogue between companions and flagged appropriately depending on the progression of the game.

4. A better selection of weapons, especially epic swords, daggers, etc...

5. The ability to flirt in front of the companions and hear their responses.to it.

1. longer hairstyles for females
2. more hair color shades
3. maybe add in the ability to have a streak of a different color in the character's hair.
4. If there's a time skip, have the option to change apperence during it so then once time has skipped you can play out the scene with a slightly different look.
5. BETTER LIGHTING IN CHARACTER CREATION

Plus now that they confirmed to be using frostbite 2 .... Better animation.
