I missed two things, one of which I do not think has been mentioned but gave me fits.

1. Please set the load opposite to the save on the wheel if we have to deal with it at the intro again. Having them next to each other is an easy way to muck up your progress.

2. If you are having a choice of dialogue, the phrases suggested need to match up better to the final lines. I re-loaded a number of times because the final line was drastically different than expected. If I am running the character, I want it to behave in certain ways. There is a vast difference in choosing harsh words and pistol-whipping someone. (ME reference, I know, but that is one of the most severe versions I have heard about.)

And just to round it out:   Instead of horses, I would love to see griffins. You tease us so with them!

Thanks.

1. A map that is fun to explore. Areas with unique fights and more fantasy atmosphere.

2. A variaty of romance-able compainions. (all LIs able to be romanced by any sex unless it interfers with the story in some way) Well paced and interesting romances. Dark overtones.

3. More dynamic combat. Chance for spell/skill combos. Move sets that are more bloody for a warrior, cloak and dagger for the rouge, and more mystical for mages. Skills affect enemies more or in more obvious ways.

4. Bring back some characters like Flemeth, Sandal. And help create an over-arching storyline for all 3 games.

5. A central hub for all characters to go. Like the camp sites in Dragon Age and Jade Empire. More events between companions.

1. A compelling epic story, that progress smoothly, and not like the story progress in the spin-off. Use the Templar/Mage conflict as a side plot instead of main plot. Bring back a story of the gray wardens instead for the main story.

2. The graphic style need to change away from the cartoonist look that made the darkspawn look dull and not scary. And the stylization of the game need too focus more on details, atmosphere and variation (no resused caves and empty rooms.) The redesign of the dalish elves in the spin-off was soo ugly and stupid please change them back too the old look. Back to Origins.

3. Please remove awesome button, and change the combat back to that in Origins (maybe a little faster combat but not like the ninja stuff in the last game.) Just make it more tactics and stop with the enemy waves and exploding enemies. The kill animations was nice in origins bring those back.

4. The ability to create your own hero by bringing back Origins and race selection, and more power to customise your hero and companions in game. Less junk loot, more balance of junk/common/rare/epic loot.

5. Returning characters, particularly Leliana (was me li in Origins.) Morrigan (most badass mage ever.) Merrill (cute naive and a little crazy, was me li in the spin off, need too change back to her old look.) Zevran Arainai (miss he's funny small talks on the road.) Alistair (made him king soo like too see, read or hear a little about him, not including as companion.) And last i want the main player character too be or become a gray warden

1. More than anything else, I would like to see some sort of meaningful continuation/resolution to Anders' story, if he survived. Ideally, I would hope that he be given a chance of redemption. Also, a continuation of Hawke's story, either as a part of, or separate from that of Anders, particularly in relation to Sebastian's vendetta.

2. An equivalent to the Black Emporium, with a Mirror of Transformation.

3. Development of relationships with companions more akin to that of DA2 than DA:O, with multiple companion quests, spread out as time passes, in order to give better pace.

4. Combat skills and speed like DA2.

5. Management of resources like DA2: no more having to traipse across the map to collect elfroot or lyrium!

Wow, I almost didn't see this thread, then almost didn't post on it because DA3 seems doomed to reinvent DA2

My thoughts which will be ignored:

1) Tactical overhead camera

Let's have no more juddery OTS, spin-throughout-combat-or-get-spawned-behind, leave-your-tactical-position-TO-EVEN-SEE-THE-ENEMY camera. It's not Fable, it doesn't play like Fable, it plays like Dragon Age with a hat pulled down over your face and one of your arms in a sling.

Spent so much time working around the camera and how it worked in conjunction with spawning, never for one moment forgot about its existence, should have written it into the story.

2) Decent encounter design

rather than spawn-and-hack (for tactical party-based combat that actually improves on old games like BG2, Icewind Dale and DA:O, rather than making them look like some sort of lofty unattainable ideal you are incapable of topping).

If there must be random spawns - perhaps random spawns with some sense or reason to them? Random spawns are not an adequate replacement for tactical gameplay and difficulty.

3) Deep and complex customisation and choice throughout the game

for those who want it (even if it isn't mandatory). Because choice in RPGs, if well implemented, is almost always a good thing.

4) Direct choice of what the player's character says

5) TACTICAL OVERHEAD CAMERA

tl;dr: Please fix the damned camera and tactical gameplay, if you wouldn't mind.

The top five things? Here's my list (I wrote this up earlier, and copied and pasted it here - I wanted to get this right!), and I would like to thank the dev's for reading these :) It means a lot that you are all so interactive with us.

  • Greater representation of different body and facial types. If DA3 is set in Orlais, a land we've been repeatedly told is notorious for its excesses, I would like to see some plus size and slender men and women, particularly in the upper classes. This also crosses racial barriers. I'd like to see some female Kossith who look less like
horned, grey elves (I am referencing an example in Those who Speak) and more like the males, particularly when it comes to body size and shape. They don't need to be a traditionally 'sexy' race, it would be great to see some broader frames on those ladies.
It would make my life too see a plus size Orlesian noblewoman with a lot of meat on her bones, packed into a scandalous gown and being completely unashamed of herself and her body as her bosoms threaten to burst out of her corset.

Bonus points if the hairstyles and fashion are as outlandish as Leliana described – extra bonus points if the trends are influenced by the decisions we've made in previous games. For example, say that the Warden and Hawke slew every dragon they came across, and reassured the world that the creatures were not extinct. The nobles could be wearing dragon inspired clothing, with ornaments made from dragon
parts. Hairstyles like Flemeth's would be commonplace (thanks to Varric's stories), but wildly over-exaggerated. Just look at Fashion Week for inspiration for fabulously impractical clothing ideas.
  • The DA2 approach to LI sexuality. I know a number of people didn't enjoy the idea that their LI could be romanced by a male or female Hawke, but I found it refreshing. Hawke was an exceptional individual, as I'm sure the Inquisitor will be, and people who are comfortable with their sexuality may admit to having admiration for someone of the opposite gender at some point. There's no reason the LI's can't do the same, and make exceptions to what would otherwise be their rule. If it really bothers people, they can feel free to head-cannon that their chosen LI is only attracted to their gender on their play-through – and that applies regardless of sexuality. Please don't let the vocal negativity turn you aside in that regard. Dragon Age II was highly progressive in that regard, and I enjoyed it a great deal. Something I didn't enjoy, however, is addressed in the next point.
  • Please, no more spawning waves. It is hard to take a tactical approach to combat when more waves could spawn at any moment. If spawns are a must, it would be fantastic if they could spawn from more realistic places than the sky – although watching Dwarven Carta members fall from the sky was amusing. ;)
If enemies could spawn from within houses, charge out as us from alleyways or a deeper part of a cave system, that would be an improvement, though I would prefer to see everything that I am going
to fight, before the fight starts.
  • A balance between DA:A and DA II follower interaction. It's been stated numerous times that the writers were happy with the level of interaction we received in DA II – and they had every right to be. Those of us who liked the companions, liked them despite the reduced interactions. Those who didn't, did not. If we wanted more, well,
there's always fan-fiction. However, I actually really enjoyed the follower interaction in Dragon Age: Awakening, when we had the chance to speak to our followers in certain places on the map that meant something for them. If we retained the follower interaction from DA II (particularly the parts where they engaged in conversation with each other, outside of party banter), but also add points for bonus conversations outside of battle, that would be amazing.
  • The only semi-frivolous (too anyone else, anyway) thing on my list. The return of my favourite romance novelist and best gaming friend ever – Varric Tethras. Ideally, as an LI – but I would never want his character to change in order to accommodate the relationship. It would be a romance grown out of a friendship, refreshingly angst-free and heavy on the pleasant buddy feels. It worked forGarrus, it would certainly
work for Varric. I think Hawke's story is over (please correct me if I'm wrong here), but perhaps this time we could find the key to his heart? Also, take away that silly breastplate, and let the chest hair be free!

So that's it :) Thanks again for reading, and I hope my notes are
helpful in some way. (edit for formatting fail)

For devs: Hi guys, love the studio. First, excuse my english for it is not my native language...
I have just three things:

1) I would definetly like to see more experimenting with plot and narrative from you guys. In my opinion, you did a great job with DA2 from this point of view. Don't get me wrong, I liked DAO, but once i was finnished, it felt like another typical fantasy about great evil threating the world (it was high quality though). There were some interesting characters, but the story itself and the "point" of it all didn't seem to provide anything more than usual heroic epic... DA2 was different. I recognized a lot of references and allegories for our world... Also, thanks to more "ordinary" story (by ordinary i mean conflict which is not about fighting against great evil...), you were able to provide more appealing characters, complex stories etc. If you expand those aspects and possibly go darker, it'll be very exciting IMO. You proved that the world of Thedas can be much more than ultimate hero simulator... After all, there are plenty of those and i believe that BW is able to make a game, which isn't just fun and escape from reality, but something more. Thus making the game more serious, deep and not just a source of entertainment. I just don't want it to be black and white...I heard, that DA3 will be about "saving the world from itself" and I'm pretty sure i have never played such a game. So yeah, this isn't actually an idea for you guys... I just think that in regards to plot and narrative your recent philosophy is good and i hope you stick with it...

2) One of the thing that really bothered me in DA2 was small customization of my character. I played a rogue in DAO, but that same rogue could be typical sneaky thief, deadly assassin or tough ranger... classes were rather indeterminate outline, than specific archetype. In DA2, I had to be a cool Ezio Auditore-like character with hood and two blades. I don't wanna be forcing to that!  I want to have a choice being a ranger - marksman, wearing chainmail, longsword and bow without any circus acrobatics (so yeah, i mean that also literally). Please, make classes in DA3 more customizable - it's important as much as dialogue choices for proper roleplaying (I hate Ezio, he sucks! But i love Rogues in DA - to me, they feel much more like "adventurers" ...)

3) More equipment, please! More variety in weapons and armors.

 My top 5 would be:

* Engaging character stories and backgrounds. BioWare is king at giving life to unique characters that feel alive and tangible. Together with the brilliant voiceover that some actors have brought into BioWare's games, we've have fallen in love with characters like Morrigan, Anderson, Tali'Zorah, Garrus, Lelliana, Isabella... but we've also hated other characters just because they've not been up to par, or they've felt "artificial" in general. You guys at BioWare know the ingredients for successfull character formulas, I beg you not to slack in this aspect, this is BioWare's trademark.

* Developping upon the characters that we already know. We've all grown little more or less fond on Lellliana, Morrigan, Isabella, Alistair, Anders... not all of them have to be party members, but seeing them and having the opportunity for them to impact in the story would be welcome.

* Engaging tactical combat mode/camera. Dragon Age 1 did an excellent job at it. Dragon Age 2 combos were definitely a good thing, but the camera mode was too restrictive. Sometimes couldn't even target my spells where I wanted them to be due to lack of angle and creatures/allies being in the way of my mouse pointer for the optimal targetting of a specific area.

* More Hard/optional/hidden challenging battles with more exclusive pieces of loot that allow players to progress beyond the point where you've beaten the game, adding epicness, enjoyment and longevity to the game. Nothing beats the feeling of kiling an High Dragon or a Revenant King after half hour of challenging gameplay, even if it's not necessaray to do so to just beat the game.

* A changing world - based on your actions. I mean more than making a diference between saving 3 civilians or 0 civilians if you do certain quest better or worse. I mean things that can change the whole landscape. Choices that affect the world around your character.

I was shocked to read that many players do not want to review or revise the warden hawke ... I really do not understand ... they both disappeared. the purpose of dragon age 3 (for me anyway) would obviously lighten the disappearance. for me it is essential to review these two iconic characters. If Bioware decided to remove this part of his shadow would be a big mistake

I don't wanna met them face to face, because i'm pretty sure Warden and Hawke are absolutely different characters for each player... But i would appreciate hearing about them during my playthrough.  Knowing, taht they have influence upon the world...

1. Keep the dialogue wheel, but give us more than Diplomatic, Sarcastic, and Aggressive.
2. Bring back the tactical side of Origins, but keep the faster pace of DA2. (I know that they said it would be a mix).
3. Racial choice.
4. More interaction with your companions and LI.
5. Being able to mold your character's personality.

Extra:
Please, PLEASE, let the character creator be better. All my female Hawkes looked virtually the same and I could never get the cheeks, chin, or other things to look the way I wanted.

 There
are a few things that Dragon Age  3 hero
must have!

First let's look at Mass Effect!
(bare with me)

Shepard: Was Inspiring! (If you
chose to be the Ultimate hero)

Shepard: Did Epic things, Said Epic
and Inspiring Things!  Had Epic and
Inspiring Music!

Shepard: Was destroyed by a ****ty
Ending in Mass Effect3!!! /cry Histarically! ... Extended Cut not yet Released
so we shall see regarding this Artistic Integrity

Emotion Invoking:
Mass Effect did this and it was AWESOME!!
HOWEVER! Once you've toyed with a Customers Emotions like this in a game
of hope and Survival against all odds, DO NOT FORCE US TO DIE WITHOUT
CHOICE!!  ESPECIALLY IF WE HAVE SURVIVED
FOR 3 GAMES AS AN ULTIMATE INSPIRING HERO!!!
The ENTIRE Mass Effect Series is DEAD to most
of the Fan base who were emotionally traumatized by the Ridiculous and
Unavoidable death of Shepard.....

Dragon Age 2: Had Hawke!  A Great story about a character starting with
nothing and Rising to Champion!

Honestly...
Too many mundane things in Dragon Age 2, got boring.  Good story, I go back to DA2 after every so
many Months and beat it again... But... Boring.
Lack of Travel Really hit the game hard!
Good at story and some emotion .... Terrible for action.  PLUS
Dragon Age 2 For Play Station 3 at least, would crash FREQUENTLY!!!  Thank god for 4 Separate Auto Save
Files!!!  Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim had a
similar problem when your save game got TOO big.  But they fixed the problem with a Programming
patch and now it runs beautifully.
(Something about the game misusing the systems RAM)

Dragon Age 3: Must Have!

Hawke: DA2 was a great blueprint for
a great character!  I personally Believe
that Hawke should be used in DA3!!!
Given Perhaps a More Badass tone, BUT given the option to be the Ultimate
inspiring Hero (Just like Shepard!)

Hawke: Must do Epic things! Say Epic and
Inspiring things!  Have Epic and
Inspiring Music!

Hawke: Had 2 or 3 Epic Kill/Execution Scenes in
DA2!  But I don't Believe anyone other
than Hawke's Group Actually saw it! (To
quote Jacob Taylor
from ME2: "Its like pissing Yourself wearing Black
Pants!  Warm Feeling Sept nobody
notices")

Certain Characters from DA2 Should
make a return for use in DA3

Morrigan Should make a return in DA3 as a
usable squad member! and Friend/Love interest if you chose Correctly (Give her
a personality Improvement, Like the improvements with Jack between ME2 and
ME3.  We'll say, Raising a child and
Trying to be better than her mother has Given her a sense of .... Responsibility?)  ALSO a slight graphics improvement is called
for!  Morrigan's in game Look in DA1
looked NOTHING like the CG Render of her character!

IF not Hawke: New Hero Must: Do Epic
things!  Say Epic and Inspiring
Things!  Have Epic and Inspiring Music!

Hero Must Have/Do:  Hawke or Otherwise: A Ship!  Get Patrick Stewart to voice the Captain of
your ship! Patrick Stewart's Character will not be a push over however!  He is just as Capable as hawke/hero.  You could lose your ship get ship wrecked and
think that only you and your hero companions survived.  HOWEVER "Captain Picard"  is no push over!  He and Most of the Crew survived and are
already in the Process of Hijacking a Qunari Dreadnaught from a Harbor!  You and your team need to give them a hand
with the last of the Qunari!

Give a
Sense of Travel, Discovery and Exploration!
Lead up to an Epic Conflict!

Chose sides between Templars, Mages,
and Chantry.  Or Find a way to make peace
with at least 2 of them!

Free choices: Give the Player
Complete control of Events in game!
Again Mass Effect!  Chose to be
the Ultimate hero or the Ultimate A**Hole!

Use Carry over Data: From DA1 and
DA2

Combat Could use an overhaul!  The strategy-esk combat style is ok, LOVE the
improvements between DA1 and DA2!  Still
... Something seems missing!

Better or more Improved Voice Acting:
During the scene along the Wounded Coast When Hawke gives an inspirational
speech to the suppressed Guardsmen trying to take the Small Island THE VOICE
ACTING ON THIS LINE WAS TERRIBLE!!!!

NEED to work on Epic
and shouting in voice overs :P

Flemeth: could return as a Major
Antagonist of some kind! Perhaps after Morrigan's Child.

I may have posted here before. Not sure if i did already. If so sorry for double post, I have been sick, so my brain isn't functioning as it should.. Image IPB

Image IPB1. Cullen, Cullen, and more Cullen. Please give us Cullen as a LI. Also please give us Sebastian as a LI. (Preferably closer to his bad boy side).

:O2. Story more like DAO with DA2 combat. I would also like to see an element of  family in DA3, I felt it added a lot of depth to the story whether it be just a sibling or parent etc.. I want quests and a storyline that makes my heart thump and jump out of my chest, Example: (When Hawke's mother died to me it was like everything stood still. When Ander's blew up the chantry i could feel my anger welling up). things like that. Not that I want my LI to blow up anything but you get the concept.   I would also like to see the PC lose some. What I mean is something happen that throws us a curve, like instead of winning all the time maybe at some point the pc get kidnapped or hurt and has to find a way to escape or if he/she is terribly hurt maybe a companion finds her/him and heals them or helps them back to health and then the pc can get revenge later. I would also love to see situations like that of the Sacred ashes quests. The spirits of the past and the riddles really wowed me. Made me want to keep going. Then seeing my dead father...wow. Made me tear up a bit.

Image IPB3. More in depth Romance options such as more dialogue, especially flirt options, better love scenes in the way of DAO and ME games, you can do steamy love scenes without making it pornographic. The kiss then fade to black just doesn't do it for me; However, I did like the aggressiveness of Fenris when he came to Hawke's room, so aggressive and steamy kisses are great too! I loved Alistair's sweet akwardness when it came to sex, but I would love to see the bad boy side. A  LI that doesn't hesitate and has experience. An "I want you...NOW..." type attitude if that makes sense. Cullen as a LI, Cullen as a LI, Cullen as a LI. I would love to see Sebastian as a LI as well. I would love to see more choices such as 3 males, 3 females etc. No chaste romances please!  If there is one at least give us a hug option or even a soft, chaste kiss option or a way to change him/her. That is better than the nothing at all we got with Sebastian.

:o4. I want the world to make sense and to be larger akin to DAO. If there is a Blood Mage and he/she casts Blood Magic I feel there should be consequences or it should at least be noticed in some way. If it is the protagonist even a simple warning from a nearby Templar/Guard/Etc. would be sufficient. Also if Orlais is the major city setting I want it to look like the Orlais I have been hearing about...Elaborate fashions, colors, and styles.  I would also like more feminine armor. I don't mean so skimpy it provides no protection or is no where near realism, but it can be done in a sexy conservative way and still seem real. . Same with mages robes, please give us nicer styles for females.

:ph34r:5. I would like some quests that are more than fighting and killing, fighting and killing. How about charming your way into a fancy party to get close to the major player in a situation. If you are female PC use your charming smiles, womanly assets, and whitt to get answers from that person? If a male use your roguish ways to to make another male think you are the man or charm your way into the females thoughts.? In other wordsI want to do more than just fight and kill, fight and kill.. I

Image IPBAnyway I don't want to make this too long but wanted to state my opinion on what I want. Some may agree and some may not but here it is. Also I apologize if there is nay typos. Being sick doesn't exactly make me more coordinated.

1. Returning Characters - Merrill and Leliana especially!

2. Longer Gameplay - Dragon Age Origins felt right. DA2 was too short.

3. Variety of companions - Give us a Qunari. A possessed-character. A dog. A gollem.

4. Bigger world - Like DA:O style or even bigger.

5. No more enemy waves - Once in a while is okay. Having them appear like DA2 style is a BIG no-no!

DA3 is about mages-templar war and Inquisitors stepping into the fray, Hawke and the warden are history to many, I want to know what happen to them, I don't want Bioware to tell me they died though. meh but I think thats exactly how artistic Hawke and the warden ending will be... meh

1.to see our import choices matter a lot
2. for multiple races but to be able to talk like in DA2 (the playable character) I want that dialouge system from DA2 where you can choose to be serious or be a smart a** or be caring.
3. I want a lot of dialouge with squademates an LIs
4. I want ohgren to be a squademate.
5. I want MP not to effect SP at all
6. I know we're only supposed to do five but I want multiple different endings

1. I would like to see more party formations, like in BG. I want to be able to arrange my npcs in different ways, like lined up when going through narrow dungeons, or shoulder to shoulder when confronting some enemies.

2. Please have your pc refer to the npcs accompanying them. I got tired of Hawke always saying "I defeated them", and never mentioning that the companions fought just as hard, and deserve recognition. The pc should start using "we" more often.

3. I'd like to see more realistic night/day scenes, and weather changes, like rain, wind, etc.

4. Don't do any more kidnapping of quests. When I wanted to go to the Wounded Coast in act 2, I had to be careful not to take Fenris, or I would be forced to do his quest, when I was trying to do a different one.

5. Better romances that take place intermittently throughout the game, not just one main scene and then nothing. Let LI's hug and kiss sometimes when appropriate, in all parts of the game.
