1. First of all: A solid, engaging plot, although I honestly have no worries here.

2. Character interaction and party banter. It's what made the Dragon Age 2 DLCs so enjoyable and well worth the money I spent on them.

3. More practical mage robes. Perhaps something more akin to the Smuggler's Robes and Strapping of Dragon Age 2.

4. Cameos of previous companions - especially those with unfinished plots of their own (i.e. Sebastian Vael, Morrigan, maybe even either of the Hawke twins if possible, and so on).

5. As far as romances go, I'd like for them to evolve a bit more naturally. Dragon Age: Origins was quite good at this and while I loved Dragon Age 2, it made Hawke sometimes sound a bit sleazy and at times inappropiate to the overall situation/conversation.

Another thing that would be nice, but not absolutely necessary is better lighting for the character creator.

1. A world that is aware of you. NPCs
reacting differently depending on your class, actions or reputation, the
way you decide to deal with one quest having an impact on something you
do later, people not just standing obliviously by while you use blood
magic in the middle of the street, things like that.

Oh yes, that is definitely something I'd like to see as well.

i really want that one little thing return from DAO to DA3, and this thing is player statistic

how much damage you take, the strongest enemy you kill, how much of the world you explore... i spend many time on reading all this little things.
 please, turn it back :innocent:

A badass villain/rival. Origins had Loghain and Howe, something to look forward to, while in DA2 you just met people and killed them. Sure there was the Arishok, but I considered him my friend and it wasn't something I expected the whole time before the events.

Here is what I would like to see..after finishing up both games with several different character.

1. the ability to use my character from either I or II.  I was disappointed when we did not get to contiune where we left off.  I would have loved to take a character from the first one and used it in every one there after.

2.  Better Character customization:
  • Longer and better Hair Style for the Females
  • Better clothing/armor/weapons something a bit more sexy.  Iam a female gamer and would love to have some of the outfits or armor I saw on NPCs.  There was not enough difference in styles nor sexier style for the female gamers out there.  Why cant a female mage have a sexy dress or robes or both to wear?
  • Better ability with the make up, we were so limited in what we could have done.  The color choice was fair but how it looked rather sucked.
  • Better tattoos, and more color options.
  • Better eye color options that allow us to actually see the color of thier eyes
3.  Ideas things we could use:
  • Money:  Its tough to come by and even tougher when half the things you can not use or grow out of you can not sell.  You offer great things in the store but trying buying the ones you really want before you finish...or even get enough to buy the stuff you need for potions and runes.  After playing both games all the way though there were still items for my character in the stores I never could buy.
  • NPCs:  If you get romanticly involved perhaps even marraige with bonus for each.  Better interaction.
  • Better customization in your house, Chests: Better set up to organize your stuff.  Perhaps a way we can arrange our items perhaps groups so its easier to grab what we want.
  • Auto pick up on treasure and plants ect so on.
4. Leveling Up:
  • More points on level up for our abilities.  You give us a great system and choices but not enough points to actually do us any good since we get more than one class so to speak.  I am not saying enough points to take everything but we should have enough to better use our classes.
  • Stat Points: Again I would like to us get a slight boost.
  • SKill Points:  A few more would be helpful.  Again do not want to see ability to get everything.
5.  Other things:
  • Do not rush the storyline!
  • Make our choices count better and have more possiblities of the final outcome based on our choices.
  • Ability to have more NPCs with us.  There were far to many fights were you are out numbered and out powered.  Being a long time gamer I learned to adapt and over come even it it meant going back to a save but I would like to see a party of at least 6 not including any pets.
  • The ability to customize items would be nice to.
Iam sure if I think Ill come up with more, I loved both games despite things I would like to see changed.  I am very big on customization since most of my RPGs allow a far greater customization.  I loved the feel of playing the story as it was told, I just would have turly liked to take my Character from the 1st to the second and not by mere metion in history.

Quick primer: I played DA1:UE ~100 hrs and DA2 ~150 hrs, so as someone who liked da2! (yes, we exist) I joined the forums just for this topic. I loved both DA games (largely for different reasons) and think DA3 can be one of the great RPGs of all time...

more than the 3 same old classes: warrior, mage and rogue. how about totally separate classes like arcane warrior, hunter and/or shape shifter including separate ability trees? and how about the story varying somewhat around my class and/or sex? I.e. if I'm a blood mage, maybe the story is a bit different than if I'm a rogue or shape shifter...

a voice for the PC is very important. is there anything more boring than a mute hero you must guide through 70+ hrs of play and countless conversations?

combat between DA1 and 2. origins was a tad slow and quite literally slowed down when more than a few enemies were on screen (late in a play through). 2 didn't have any slowdowns or choppiness, but was way too cartoony. a happy medium would be great.

keep the branching ability trees of da2 instead of the linear ones of 1. dual wielding warriors.

an option to see enemy info: e.g. vulnerable to ice, resistant to fire, has abilities war cry, gravity ring, life of 1200, mana of 800, armor of 550, etc.

non combat solutions, as long as I get the same XP. Deus ex HR is a good example.

no mp. use the time and resources instead to improve the sp.

go back to a big story.

absolute must: less reused maps.

fewer but more powerful enemies.

a new arishok or qunari figure as dynamic as in da2. he was probably the most interesting character in the entire game. or maybe bring back the voice actor.

ng+, so those late game items can actually be used. and maybe a post campaign mode where you take your team against an endless horde to see how long they survive, with online leaderboards and such.

a way to reset stats, like makers sigh or fate weavers in amalur.

make quests easily findable via map markers. I understand some don't want that, so how about making it an option to turn on or off?

(Please excuse grammar or punctuation errors. This was typed from my phone. And please excuse me for going past 5.)

I'm expecting 3 to wrap up any loose ends that origin and 2 have. Morrigan's return is absolutley necessary.

From promoting the game it would be great to stop having store exclusive preorder bonuses, consumers hate losing out on content from picking where to buy. This trend needs to stop.

Focus on the game. Please no more flash games and keep the franchise focused. You don't see Bethesda screwing their franchise over with terrible animated films, annoying in game promotions that cannot be accessed covenently by gamers. Giving small in game content DLC's is just meant to make the game easier.

Expansions not small content. Although I can see Dragon Age taking a turn to be more open world.

1. Being able to play the protagonist the way I want, instead of the way Bioware expects them to be played (really annoyed me that I agreed 100% with the mages, blood mages, or the demons, but Hawke never did, no matter what option I chose)

2. Multiple origins.

3. Silent protagonist. (yeah, I know this is unlikely. Problem is, a voiced protagonist limits the amount of options the player has; and is very mod-unfriendly. It also helps with immersion and roleplay, if you read your dialogue and add your own inflection to it, rather than hear your character say something)

4. Logical and emotionally engaging end. (No random "I'm going against my character, now, to create drama!" or "surprise! what you thought the story was about, isn't what it's actually about!" in the last 5 minutes of the game)

5. Choices that matter. (Major plot differences based off of your choices throughout the game, and throughout the past 2)

IF Bethany/Carver ever makes an appearance, (as a templar, rebel mage, warden etc) and they aren't romance-able, I'd like to at least see them with someone. They are my brother/sister and I'd just like to know that they are happy. Ya know?

Smooth gameplay. Few loading screens. Endless replayability. Epic storyline. Beautiful graphics. Innovation in regards to the game mechanics, not so much in the plot itself. A longer game than da2 and dao combined. Memorable love interests. Cameos of old characters/flashbacks to previous events. A "camp" style place where everyone hangs out and you can talk to them independently. "Black emporium" style hairdresser. Music that blends in effortlessly with the graphics and gameplay. No multiplayer unless its really well done+ doesn't take resources away from the rest of the game.

1. Clearer dialogue choices/wheel: ME has condition players that top/bottom = para/reg. shake that habit out of us from easy choices at the begining and No accidental romances.

2. Have a Overarching world plot with main story events/set pieces/cinematics offering lots of replayability. Where companions are secondary/are effected by the plot. (Unless char plays leadrole)

3. Signature DA look & realistic environments (with environment enemy tactics). light sources, dark caves, narrow walkways. Different town hubs/city's with signature look and music. A sense of vast space and travel; a cut scene of entering a autumn forest to a bridged town, or the city's prominent monument. I think a cut scene works better than a map loading screen, with a line showing to and from(Open world to much to hope for :P)

4. Gameplay and Bugs: balanced companion skills, each companion has at least 1 skill that compliments the player class. DA2 suffered lots of buggy boss fights. Health/doing little dmg, reviving bug where assigned tactics wouldn't work. Companion would 'stick' to the player.

5. Different npc models. old wise person- I want to see a hunched over frail person, not a old wrinkled face with a 20yr olds chest! a beer belly shopkeep. Adds to the world and immersion.

6. Fix the floaty weapon/shield, not attached to the model. I swear I will jump out the window if I see that again

About MP.... Story Co-op possibly? Look at swtor possibly for player dialogue choice Majority wins/dice roll. Excuse for "open world resources/MP resources here." Main protagonist/host. Other players choose companion characters. Normal= harder difficulty, no pause, end of quest = items for single player/players, unlock quest? It'd be really crazy if you added the companion dialogue tree choices/responses eg 'in camp' ..you'll need a chat window (optional hud)

Not sure if I mentioned it in my prior posts, though having Rivalry / Friendship not be tied to the character's main problem would be nice. For example, pro-mage Hawke can still ****** off Anders but he'll throw a hissy fit that I'm not helping mages.

1, Why is every demon retarded? They want to experience the world, their ULTIMATE GOAL SHOULD BE TO FREE THE MAGES FROM THE TEMPLARS,so please MAKE THEM GOOD BOYS and let them fight for the mages. Im not saying there shouldnt be any malfunctions in this alliance, but i want smart pride demons tricking everyone and unleashing hell on Tedas, instead of dieing in 2 minutes after "TAKING DIRECT CONTROLL!"
2, In my opinion there should be simply more talk with the party members after important decisions. Party members should approve or  lash out at you if you do something nasty.

3,Also i think there should be some possible plots for the companions if you dont treat them right. So the idea is, if you ****** off someone badly (which should be inevitable at some points, depending on your choiices) instead of just getting himself/herself killed , he/she would sabotage your actions or betray you, causing you problems, losing valuable items, wounding someone you care about. And later of course you would get a chance to take your revenge in a form of a side quest or even as part of the main quest. And ex party members should be like small bosses.
So a mage companion shouldnt tolerate your actions when you are aiming to exterminate the entire mage society. At some point, he should betray you, which should have serious consecquences.

4, Items, which are actually VALUEABLE! I always found the promise of power a good motive in rpg games. And what did we get in DAO? Dragon drops 5 useless great swords ... I want godlike sets, items. And once i got them i wanna enjoy them for a while. Since in DA II you only got the full set at the end of the chapter.
Adding stories to certain sets/weapons wouldnt hurt either.
5,DIFFICULTY was a huge problem in DAII. Please give us a difficulty which is just INSANE. Or you could introduce something similar to HARDCORE MODE from diablo.

+++  MORE BLOOD MAGIC :innocent:

1) Pretty item pictures and names and descriptions the way they were back in DAO. I was quite sad to lose that in DAII. In fact, all of the inventory/journal/skills/leveling screens from DAO were so much better than DAII, so I'd like all those back, please. The leveling/journal/items/skills in DAII looked like they were more afterthoughts than anything. Same with the mabari - he was very much an afterthought, and I want my lovable DAO mabari back, please.

2) A bigger world. DAO was AMAZINGLY large and fantastic. DAII was tiny, tiny, tiny, and got extremely boring and repetitive. I've been through DAO about six times and DAII twice, as DAO was just so much more immersive and varied and there was so much to do and explore. Not so much in DAII.

3) The kills and kill style in DAO were gorgeous, while the DAII ones were very mechanical, and the darkspawn weren't nearly as terrifying. Please lean towards DAO when it comes to kills and killing.

4) The magic in DAO offered so many wonderful choices from the four schools, but they weren't always very powerful. DAII had very basic, dull magic, but it kicked ass. Let's please change this to many wonderful choices from the four schools of magic that kick ass.

5) No gender restrictions on romance whatsoever. I would love for my female warrior to be able to romance Morrigan without a mod. Yes, I know, it seems like it would go against some of the characters' personalities, but then just make it harder for a same-sex character to romance them. I can just hear Zevran saying something along the lines of "Don't knock it 'til you try it" to Alistair.

Basically, more DAO, less DAII.

1. Move away from "Mass Effect with Swords" (Action-RPG, cutscene/dialogue/battle/cutscene quests, dialogue wheel, voiced protagonist). A voiced protagonist turns the player into a director, directing a talking actor. I want to be an actor myself in my games. And don't EVER re-use areas again!! In general, try to distinguish more between Mass Effect and Dragon Age! (Just think of everything people liked about DA:O and everything people hated about DA2, and take appropriate action!)

2. Return to a "realistic" WRPG visual style, drop the ludicrously-called "unique" cartoony style of DA2, which just looked cheap, rushed, and trite. Nothing "unique" there! (Don't get me started on the anime-style "goat elves", which looked as if they were wearing painted balloons instead of heads on their shoulders...) DA:O wasn't entirely realistic, but it had a gorgeous Vermeer-Rembrandt-oil-painting-like visual style and... stupendous lighting!

3. Return to a complex RPG skill/ability/attribute/inventory management system that allows variety and offers a challenge. ALL character attributes, not just one, should have benefits for different classes.

4. Give the companions different personalities. Everybody being an angry and easy-to-bed bisexual is just SO boring. (And I say that as a bisexual gamer myself ;-) I liked and respected Alistair because he wasn't a cheap ***** like everyone in DA2.

5. Content, content, content: Item descriptions! Lore! Codex! Stories! It's an RPG, dang it! We want a world that has history, depth  and lore!

6. (sorry!) A strong and compelling story with... urgency! Don't fall into the Skyrim trap, whose "open world", gorgeous as it is, resulted in players (like me) more interested in wandering aimlessly around than in the story...

Wow, over 1100 posts already! I really wonder if devs take the time to read through all these suggestions - it really would be a nice touch if they did...

2) Multiple deep choices (not just the "good" or "bad" choices)
3) Keeping our canon, canon
4) Good writing (story, characters, dialogue, etc.)

DA:o dog > DA2 dog.

I'm a dog person and I would like a return to the original approach: treating the dog as an importent part of the group. Also more customization options for the dog (color, metal claws, tail shape). The marking system really encouraged exploration.

Wishfull suggestion: open world exploration.

I loved the improvement to the mages combat graphics in DAII, but hated what they did to the melee classes. Not every single foe has to explode when sliced and diced. Just find a nice balance between DAO melee combat and DAII and it will be fine. Spend more time on the landscapes and dungeons. Seriously...recycling is great in the real world not so much for our games.

1.Engaging story and smooth transition from act to act. I greatly enjoyed DAO and DA2, but Act 3 felt abrupt to me. I felt there could of been more time to build up Orsino/Meredith's character. Anders character changed throughout each Act but you really didn't get to see the pressure that Meredith and Orsino felt over the years. It would of been better for the player to have more contact with Orsino and Meredith in Act I and Act II and see their view a little better. I'd like to get to know the villains of DA3 over the course of the game. Also, since in DA3 we will be visiting different regions I'd like companions from varying cultures to learn more about the world of Thedas. I am not worried too much about this, as the best feature of Bioware games for me is normally the engaging stories and character development.
2. The murder knife (This should be in every Dragon Age Game). No need for an explanation here. Also, I'd like to see Bodahn, Sandal, and Wade.
3. Mage companion character(can be male or female) that is neutral. Maybe they do not completely agree with the Chantry, but they also believe in the dangers of magic. Someone like Rhys or Galen comes to mind. Perhaps, you pick them up on your journey with a Templar character that they are best friends with. Would be a refreshing change of pace from DA2 (and I did like DA2)
4. Recognition of character class/specialization in the game. Especially if you are a blood mage or Templar. Perhaps characters could only pick one out of 2 specializations and have a class quest related to that. I honestly have no idea if this is possible or how hard/costly it would be to implement in the game, but it would be really cool if it could be done.
5. This isn't a must, but I really enjoyed the Origins stories of DAO. Since this may be too costly, perhaps something similar to ME1's backgrounds could be implemented with a quest related to that. For example in ME 1 you can pick earthborn, spacer, colonist, etc and do a special quest related to it. If it is too costly and takes away from other areas of the main quest than I can see why it would not be feasible to implement this.
6. I'd like to hear rumors of Hawke and the Warden.
Edit: 7. I would like to visit the Fade again:P Sorry that this is 7 and not 5 things

1. The return of the griffons
2. New creatures, like giant snakes, fairies etc.
3. I'm not sure how this could be done, but a 4th class could be cool
4. I wasn't all that into forcemage, could we get a new specialization for mage? Or re-vamp it to make it a whole lot more powerful?
5. Could we give spirit healer at least 1 offienceive-ish attack? Maybe stealing an foe's health and sending it to an ally?

1. Good combat system, that isn't all about RTS and has more character control. Because I like to control MY character and not the NPC's.
2. Great dialogue and story. Choices need to matter, just go nuts and don't worry about next game now!
3. Customization, I want to be able to color my armors ATLEAST. Mass Effect 2 and 3 got this right, SO RIGHT.
4. More sidequests and exploration
5. About Multiplayer, if there is going to be one, that it shouldn't affect the plot of main game TOO much. And it would be fun like Mass Effect 3 has been. :)

Return of Varric
If you play a bloodmage let it show in the npcs/story

yeah that is about it from me. Just the two items above and I will preorder it in a second.
