2. CHOICES that have a noticable effect on the story, each with unique outcomes that drastically change the path of the story.
3. LARGER, EXPLORABLE AREAS.. this is a given. im tired of being stuck in kirckwall and recycled dungeons.
4. STORY. this should really be no. 1.... the story matters a lot to me. DA is a great fracnchise and i would like to see this tradition continue.
5. CUSTOMIZATION. I want to choose my face, body type, hair, etc. This includes class choice. Maybe something else beside just Warrior/Mage/Rouge?
If DA3 deleivers these things AND deleivers them well, DA will overtake ME's place in my my heart and become Bioware's masterpeice series.

Please don't take offense to this, I'm asking because I see this type of post a lot from different people but I don't get why so many want to see old PC's and NPC's they've met and traveled with in the past. Sure, if they're important enough at the time of the next game and it makes sense to have them within the context of the story and the character isn't shoe-horned into a particular position that's one thing...
In my opinion however, each new Dragon Age game is an opportunity for Bioware to expand on our understanding and perspective of the entire world and universe of Dragon Age. So why do some people want to see the same limited characters over and over? I mean I love the old characters too, but there can be so much more to the world, we don't need to keep revisiting the same stuff do we?
That doesn't mean we can't go back to Morrigan etc in DA 4 or 5, but I also don't understand when people demand a conclusion to certain storylines. Maybe that conclusion doesn't occur until later in timeline of the series...maybe?

hatred he gets from some players. We play games because we want to immerse
ourselves in worlds outside our own and let’s be honest, there aren’t that many
“nice” guys out there… So let us have the likes of Alistair. I’d love to have
Cullen in my party- he’s a well-developed character and a sweet guy in both
DA:O and DAII. Really, any kind-of-awkward, honorable gentleman that’s easy on
the eyes as a LI.
(And for those that dislike him and other characters that are in “No more characters
like…” threads: Don’t like, Don’t interact. Simple. Seems like every single
character is mentioned in the aforementioned type of threads, though- so it’s
highly unlikely the OPs will be happy with anything. The bitter bunch.)
2. Qunari. I love interacting with Qunari because they always bring a different viewpoint
(however much I disagree with some of their points is not relevant) to the DA
world. Whether it’s Sten’s view that my Warden couldn’t be both a fighter and a
woman, or the Arishok’s reluctant respect for a person who’s a member of a
society that disrespects the existence of the Qun.
3. Origins. I want to choose whether my character is a human, elf, dwarf, etc., and her/his
background… Otherwise I promise you I will not connect and love the character
as much as I loved my Warden (I like Hawke just fine, but, well it’s just not
the same, ok?). This is a huge point that keeps players going back to play
Origins more often than they go back to play DAII. (Well, the
non-repetitiveness of the maps helps but that’s another story.)
4. More interaction with party members. This point was sorely missed in DAII. I absolutely
hated how I could only talk to the party members at certain times and have a set topic to discuss.
Even if I were to sit here all night and talk about how much I hated this limitation in
DAII, I wouldn’t even touch the tip of it. While I like all the DAII characters, I will never feel as
attached to them as I do to the DA:O characters for the simple reason that I didn’t really
get the chance to know them. Sure, it’s implied Hawke got to know them… but I didn’t, which
disconnected me from Hawke (and the party members) in a way. Let us get to know
our party members so that we may further submerse ourselves into the DA world.
5. On a lighter note: Curly hair. Damn it, why can’t there be a least one cute curly hairstyle?
DA:O had zero and DAII… was somewhat of an improvement (but the one with the bangs was
just horrible, no offense). It’s a weird point, but it helps those of us that would rather play on our
console than PC.
Oh and bonus number six: don't repeat ME3 ending please!

I didn't play video games until I found Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3.
I am a female gamer and my favorite things about these games which ultimately keep me playing are
Funny Party Banter
Romance
Great Storyline
MOST OF ALL************The ability to actually play as a FEMALE.
In the upcoming game of Dragon Age 3 the things I would like to see are
More options in character creation. IE., race, hairstyles, eye color, and makeup. DAO had the option to be an elf.
More fashionable armor, clothes and weapons, like starfang and vigilence. Even if it is only two or three outfits. Women like clothes or (armor) and dressing nicely makes it more fun.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: I thought the romances in Dragon Age 2 were okay, however, I liked the ones available in Dragon Age Origins better. Honestly I think they should all be that way. To have the option to stay together or not. When it comes to romance, for years women have been buying romance novels to subjugate their most inner desires. In the information era, video games can take it a step even further by making it virtually real. Having the option to look similar to themselves, while they carry on a hot steamy romance in between creating friendships, completing quests, settling conflicts, and fighting battles makes it that much more desireable. I have all my friends addicted to it. We can't wait until DA3 comes out.
The Ending, I was disappointed with the endings in all the games as it left me hanging. There was no wedding, no closure, no real understanding of what happed to our character after. Don't get me wrong, I never want these games to end but I would like a little bit of closure than just closing the game right in the middle of an emotional climax. I wanted to cry after Mass Effect 3. After working so hard to for a romance with Kayden and then being split apart on two seperate planets. Whoa! That's painful....
It sounds silly to a lot of people, but it is true that on an emotional level people have an ablity to relate to themselves in video games. There are studies that show this is true on many levels for many people. So for those of you who like the romances don't feel weird and for those of you who don't like the romances then don't use the romance option.
I have tried playing other video games, and the only ones I seem to like are created by Bioware.
I totally agree!!

2. I like the all bisexual romance options because I hate being limited depending on my character's gender on who I get to woo. Moreover, I want more diversity in the romance archetypes. I also want more interactions between my character and the LI. I liked in DA:O when I could give smoochies to Alistair whenever I wanted. I liked the depth of the scenes and the subquests in DA2, but I missed the small interactions.
3. Better inventory. Unique names for items. Better loot. I don't mind if I'm not totally dressing my companions, but if that's so, I don't want to get loot for classes I can't equip. I want everything I find to be theoretically useable my character or their companions.
4. I'd like to have a companion that will only join you if another doesn't, that depends on some factor. Only for it to be at the beginning of the game instead of the end.
5. Party camp or a home base. Some sort of area where all of your companions gather so you can talk to all of them, dress them up/equip them, etc. All at once. I hated, hated, having to equip and level my companions party at a time. I'd like to do it all at once.

2.Saarebas and more hybrid characters
3.More powers for Mages that are visually incredible.I was the animal transformation back that Morrigan had, I loved the swarm.
4.Booby traps!!! It's nothing like setting up a trap for your enemies.
5.Being able to control a pack of Macabri hounds like a dog handler.

2. No returning characters- especially as LI's!!! Sure you make a very vocal gushy group happy but you may make others decide it's not worth the $$ because they can't stand them. Do what you do best - surprise us. Make us fall in love with NEW characters
3. Make it an RPG please!! If I want to make my mage have 35 points in strength or whatever, I want the ability to do so. I loved that about DA;O. If you haven't invested in coercion, you can't persuade, etc. Ah, the good old days...
4. I get the marketing imperative of the "iconic" look. But realize some of us HATE what you designed for them and are going to complain endlessly, Hah! I would like the ability to customize their look, their stats, and their role within their class a la DA:O.
5. A game whose enemy AI is good enough that I get my butt kicked on a surprise 1st encounter. One that I can't just hack and slash away at but actually have to figure out what to do. Don't hold our hands either!!! I want to figure out how to take them out on my own! I loved the broodmother fight for this. Creeped out AND until you figured out her weakness she could keeeellll you. The 1st Witcher game did a good job at this too. Legacy came close to this, more please.

I'm beyond excited for DA3 and just hope more than anything for:
1: Story - Deep, rich, evolving and reactive. Seems kind of silly as this is what Bioware do best, but hell, it can't hurt to repeat right? I really want to feel and see my effects on the world around me and on my relationships. That being said, I liked the realism in DA2, in that once someone had made a decision (*cough* Anders or Merrill *cough*) you couldn't change their mind with some grand or aggressive statement. That's life - you cant control how someone else acts/reacts. The only thing you can control are your actions and reactions. Being able to talk someone down with one click makes you feel more puppet-master, less hero.
2: More companion/LI interaction - Probably one of the few things that I struggled with in DA2 was not being able to head back to camp and chat with my LI and other companions. You really felt as if you were BUILDING the relationships, not just picking the correct options. It made them seem (to me at least) far more realistic. Damn, you had to work hard for your LI.
3: Party banter - Once again, this is what you guys do best.... surely there's room for a bit more. Or a lot.
4: Tactical views - PLEASE! It made life a heck of a lot easier!!
5: LOOOOOOOOOOOT. Loots are a girls best friend.

2. more customization to character look (body edition, long hairstyles, body tattoos, piercings, etc....) and no underwear, which totally break its (its like having guns, tanks or aircrafts)
3. proper sex scenes, without any censure. And sex not tied to romances
4. redesigned elves
5. personal Torturer for my Inquisitor.

2. More and complex Love Interests. I like the idea to add not only companions but resident charachters to the list of possible LI´s.
3. Party Banter, one of the most entertaining things in your games. Give us more of that stuff!
4. Social Armor (as in Age of Conan for example). It will be great to wear the armor set you like the most optical without missing the protection of a far better but ugly one.
5. Multiplayer as an additional experience but without any need to play online for completly finish the game (with all possible endings)

YES! Absolutely loved this about DA:O, it was a factor that made the game feel like a unique experience each time I played. I loved having my rogue or mages wear actual protective gear, having invested in strength. I loved the times that, although they were a bit frustrating, I couldn't convince others because I hadn't invesed in coercion. I love this option because it made the game feel very personalized and, like I said, unique.

Planescape Torment had this for instance.
I'm not sure what you mean by this, but if you mean sexy as in less leather and metal, and more skin instead....
Nope. Nope. Nope. I can't stress enough how much I disagree with this. Respectfully, I think this is a rather horrid idea. I want an RPG to feel realistic; the thought that I could kill a boss like the broodmother with a flimsy, sexy little "amor" that could be mistaken as lingerie and live to tell about it makes me sad. Yes, it's a fantasy game, but it doesn't mean certain rules of realism shouldn't apply... Without some degree of realism, there's just absurd things that don't quite make sense.
That being said, I wouldn't mind having a set of normal clothes to wear during downtime at the base or what have you.

I partly agree with you. I can see the budget for this being invested into something else that would make the game even better. I can also see MP being used as it was used in Mass Effect 3- which in a game like Origins, I would absolutely hate. I like ME3's MP, becuase it fits it fine... But I think it should stay out of the DA universe.
I have, however, had good experiences with ME3's MP, met some cool people, had some good times.
At any rate, I believe this is already in the works, anyway so... :b

There is one thing I just thought of that I would really, really, like to see in DA3. NPC's that have their own personal inventory.
Dragons Dogma did this. I enjoyed that game very much...once I got accustomed to it. Lol. It wasn't perfect by any means, but there were some things they did really well. This, to me, is one them.
Basically with this, I gathered my crew together before we headed out on a mission, and divided up the supplies we need. To an extent. I still kept most stuff. But we packed up before we set off.
This was so great because I could give the NPC's various healing herbs and stamina/mana plants for them to put in their personal inventory. Then when we were in the midst of battle, if their health or stamina got too low....they had the good sense to take the healing plants..themselves.
I did not have to stop everything I was doing to make sure they got healing. I loved that. As long as I made sure they were all outfitted out and supplied when we left, they could take care of themselves. As far as random healings and replenishing stamina or mana.
I'd really like to see this feature in DA3. Really.
And in general I like the idea of having to pack up and make preparations before you head out on a mission.

1.) More varied character designs, like in Origins. I noticed in DA2 all of the Qunari looked the same, and there were no differences between the Tal Vashoth/Qunari (Tal Vashoth still have Saarebas chained? All clones of each other? Huh?), also the Mercs all looked the same. Perhaps a random character generator to make the faces unique? I liked DA2, but the lack of unique looking characters and landscapes was a bit distracting. In Origins, people looked different, they had all kinds of places to go (mages tower, redcliffe, brecillian forest, denerim, orzammar, the alienage, etc). The world just felt bigger, and the people felt unique to each place.
2.) A few cameos of old faces.
3.) More origin stories please! I know a lot of people think the solely human option is ok, but I think having unique quests and opening storylines makes for a much more fun game/increases replayability when you know you'll get different, quests, history, etc. Even if you guys can't manage the same amount of depth that was in DA:O at least consider origins like in Mass Effect (sole survivor, ruthless, war hero, etc).
4.) Customizability/Interaction with party members. I loved that in Origin I could buy/find/make my party members armor/customize them just like I'd customize my own character. Also, I liked that I could talk to my party members all the time, not just at certain points in the game. Expecially those that we romanced. It made getting to know the character up to the player, not the story, plus building up friendships was way more fun that way.
5.) MOST OF ALL, I'd like questions answered. I really want to know what happened with the darkspawn, the architect, Morrigan, etc, etc, etc. basically all of the questions (or as many as possible) that were left unanswered.

2. please, return to the fight mode of dragon age origins, the dragon age 2 is a completly ****, i dont like it, no special deaths, no blood, you can't talk with your companions clicking on them, and that stuff
3. the magic weapons must brigth! in dragon age origins you can see when you weapon is magical, but, in dragon age 2, this doesn't happens
4. try to relation all the historys, or, in fact, choose what history you want to do. For example, it could be a good idea export your character from origins to da 3 with all his models, taking it, and renderising it to frosbite 2
5. please, the end of dragon age 2 was a ****, we need to know what happend after like dragon age origins, dont end like ****!

2) Slow down combat speed and 'over-the-topness'; something closer to DA:O but with DA2 levels of responsiveness would be a distinct improvement
3) No multiplayer
4) An ending that is not completely at odds with the themes and style of the story up to that point (DA2 and ME3, I'm looking at both of you), with meaningfully different outcomes at the conclusion depending on the decisions you made (ME3, I'm still looking at you), that does not remind you that the open-ended nature is purely to encourage you to buy DLC (*cough* ME3 *cough*) and, when said DLC is introduced, don't market it to us using characters inside the game itself...y'know, kinda like you did with Levi Dryden and his "Oh, thanks for agreeing to help me Warden. That'll be 350 Bioware points, please. Have you got your credit card handy, perchance?"
5) No multiplayer

2.interesting characters with backstories that can be explored in depth (DAO), not just shallow archtypes (DA2) with few conversation options. Frankly, I don't care if old characters return or not - just don't make them boring/shallow again or your games are going to get crossed off the list.
3. Choices from your import saves should matter, and not just add a couple lines to the codex.
4.5.6., etc - yeah customization is nice, romance is nice, gameplay tweaks are nice, blah blah ....but that is frosting. The cake should be all about the STORY and the CHARACTERS.
IMHO..........

2. If there are going to be multiple ending possibilities, let's DO NOT make ALL of them dark and dreary. I've had enough of dark and depressing endings. I'd like to have one game where I get to go out as a big goddamned heroine for once, and I don't care how cliche you think it is.
Grim and dark has been used so damned often it's cliche now.
3. Well developed characters please. I absolutely hated the way they did the dialogue in ME3.
4. How about more open world exploration instead of just fast travel from one location to the next?
5. Don't make multi-player compulsory, and don't use war assets. See DA: Origins as a positive example. See ME3 as a negative example.

I played Dragon Age 2 as a pro-Mage Hawke and then as a pro-Templar Hawke and the story was exactly the same. Even though I spent all of my first playthrough helping Mages, every Mage in Kirkwall went insane and tried to kill me, even those I had personally helped.
2- The player should drive the plot.
Again, even though I spent my entire first playthrough helping Mages, Hawke never showed any initiative. Smuggling Mages out of Kirkwall? Protecting Apostates? Blowing up the Chantry? Hawke isn't allowed to do any of that. When you think about it, Anders should have been the protagonist of Dragon Age II. I hate, hate, hate passive characters.
3- Political machinations.
The Landsmeet was one of the most rewarding parts of Dragon Age: Origins, especially for the Male Human Noble, and I was really looking forward to seeing how Hawke would leverage his fame and nobility in Dragon Age 2 (which he never does, because Hawke is a glorified bystander who just happens to be controlled by the player). I want to see more of that in Dragon Age 3.
4- No loose ends.
An ending involves resolution. "The PC disappears and no one knows what happens afterwards" is not an acceptable ending. I don't want to wait for the sequel to see how the plotline will turn out because, as the godchild shows, it's more likely that the sequel will ignore the plotline completely.
5- Customization
Character customization is good. Bring it back.

I don't want half a game with the intention of finishing the game through DLC.
I want a full game that can be expanded upon with DLC instead.

1) An open world. With mounts. And lots of places to go. No more trapping us inside of a single city, please.
2) Griffins. Because this story needs griffins in it. Seriously. It does.
3) More War Dog. Preferably as an actual companion and not DLC/some kind of add-on. Because if you don't like War Dog you are a soulless monster (okay, not really, but I love the dog).
4) Inventory. Your streamlining is annoying. I am not interested in seeing Isabella's behind every time she attacks something. And that is why I left her behind in the bar. I want to customize my party and my weapons. If they could find better gear on an enemy or in a shop, why exactly would they continue to wear the same thing, anyway? I like loot. Just give me a decent way to organize it.
5) Tactical view. Please, please, please. PLEASE. Pretty please with chocolate on top.
... And I have to add some more, less urgent ones, as well.
6) Let's tone down the jumpy-anime-type combat, shall we? Faster is good, but there were tactical considerations in DAO and those vanished in DA2. My rogues should not be able to teleport behind someone to backstab. It's better if they can sneak behind their enemy, then stab. They can do this faster, I'm fine with that. But all the flashy flips and jumps have to go. Dragon Age wasn't ever meant to be a Japanese RPG, and the DA2 combat felt that way. At a certain point it becomes less "exciting" and more "trite."
7) Regarding women. No, women do not have THAT exaggerated of a hip sway when running. Watch a track race or two, Bioware. Not all women move with a hip sway when walking, either. I was personally taught NOT to walk that way. And while some characters may indeed dress the way Isabella does, is it necessary to animate her in such a way that her assets are perpetually on display during combat? Because the fact that she was always flashing her behind is the reason why I left said behind in the bar in Kirkwall rather than actually making use of an otherwise interesting character. There are other, more mature ways to indicate that a character is sexy than constantly flashing her behind at an audience who may not want to see her behind. Or, if you insist on having a half-naked woman, then balance it out by a man clad in only loincloth who shakes his behind provocatively for those of us who prefer our eye candy to be of the male persuasion. I'm sure the other ladies here on the forums will be glad to describe their dream man to you so that you can do just that, in the interests of fairness.
Editing to add:
8) More party interaction. DA2 was a pale shadow of how you could interact with your companions in DAO, not to mention a paler shadow of how they interacted with one another while in your party. I liked their banter when they thought my Warden wasn't listening. I liked having everyone at the camp. It's nice in DA2 that they have homes and visit one another, yes, but how about everyone has homes but still meets every Friday at the bar? ... Which would be interesting, if the game tracked days of the week, etc. And I felt that the dialogue--and interactions--were severely cut in DA2. The quality was there, but I could only talk to my companions and get unique responses at certain times. It was more interesting to converse with them in DAO, when they often had something new to say, whether regarding the point of the game I'd reached or just a casual conversation.
9) Show, don't tell. Aveline got married? Okay, but... I didn't see it. And I was there? But... No, I wasn't, I didn't see it so stop telling me things that happened that I obviously can't remember because I wasn't shown them, I am being told them. Aveline is always on my case about X or Y? Well, that's news to me. She's a good friend? Um. Since when? I barely met her. Etc. Let me get to know the characters. Don't tell me I'm supposed to assume that I know them. I know, it's a form of showing, too, but a lot of telling in the form of "As You Know, Bob," was going on, and I don't like that. With DAO, or Mass Effect, I had the impression of meeting these characters and spending time getting to know them, even if the conversation in the Mass Effect trilogy was limited. With DA2, I felt that I was assumed to know these people, but they were still strangers, and I didn't care about them as much as the DAO or Mass Effect casts. Not everyone felt the same, and I get that. But I think anyone would have agreed that the relationships/rivalries could have been handled better, and nobody's going to complain about a more in-depth dialogue or about actually seeing some of those events we were told about, but missed seeing.

I'm kind of fed up with Ferelden, and I remember being crushed in awakening when my Orlesian dwarf did not have a French accent! (OK, I'm joking about being crushed, but I was looking forward to my new accent.)
2) Races and/or Origins.
I get why Hawke had to be human, but I find playing human to be boring (since I do that every day.) I can understand if they don't put them in, if there's no real reason for elves or dwarves. Failing that, I'd like to chose my character's history. Hawke was just... boring after the first playthrough, while Origins is much more fun to replay. If they do include origins or races though, I'd like to see characters react to them a bit more.
3) Less unstable romances
I liked Fenris, Merril was OK, I'll always forgive Izzy for backstabbing me, and I am still an Anders-girl (and I don't really count Sebastian, though he does have issues). However, after DA2 I've had my fill of crazy, thanks. Some stable, dependable LIs who aren't off their rocker would be nice. Maybe it's my turn to be the crazy one, Bioware!
Speaking of LIs I'd like to see; Cullen, Varric, Cassandra.
4) I think this is a given from what I understand, however I'll say it anyway: I want at least some of my choices to have impact and consequences.
DA2 was a good story, however I don't think it made a good RPG game since nothing I did affected the plot at all. Really it would have been better as a book or something like that, IMO.
5) TravelingI don't want to be stuck in the one place for 7 years. By Act3 I was almost ready to burn Kirkwall down myself, I was so sick of looking at it. I'd like to see various cultures. Antiva, Orlais, Rivain, Tevinter (I really, really want to go there), Seheron, the Anderfells... you get the picture.
There's quite a bit more I could mention. On of the minor things I'd like is the opportunity to talk to Justice/Vengeance, and get his take on the Anders-merge and the Kirkwall mess. (Also in regards to the Anders-romance, if he's had any enlightenment as to what Oghren was talking about in Awakening)
I'd also like some insight on various pieces of lore, epsecially regarding the Fade, the Maker, Demons, Spirits, Abominations and Mages... and maybe a bit on the elves in regard to magic, since their race and history seem to go hand-in-hand with it (what with the racial bonuses to magic and willpower)
And I'd like to know how my Demon God Baby is growing up, I wonder what his first word was?
