The only thing I don't want to see in DA3 is reuse of the same damn maps for different missions. Tha'ts one of the things I hated about DA2.

There was 2 things I could complain about in DA2 and that was "the" cave and body explosions. If the rumors are true and we are going to Orlais, I could see how most of the choices from Origins would not effect the story.
Instead of body explosions maybe some beheading or limb loss would be cool.
I really liked the Cameo's from the other players. I don't want the same characters again.. but the way you brought Merrill and Isabela from Origins was great and doing the same with the 3rd would be a must.
And i can't wait to see whats new journey's lay ahead for us. But please don't rush it.

1. Morrigan returning as a love interest (and written as enticingly well as she was in DA:O)
2. The depth of character interaction from DA 2, where each character had their own continuing story independent of but intersecting with yours.
3. Some of the epicness of DA:O (hard to define, I know, but the battle of Ostagar and the end sequence from the confrontation with Teyrn Loghain onwards stay with me as defining moments).
4. The use of side missions to reinforce main story arcs as was done in DA 2 was an inspired choice, so that would be good - but would also be good to be able to influence the main story arc a bit more than in DA 2.
5. A polished, long worked on ending (please don't rush this, no matter how good the rest of the game it always leaves a bad taste in the mouth!) which brings everything to a head, allows for a satisfying resolution of everything without major dangling plot threads (take a page from Tolkien, it's nice to be able to spend time saying goodbye to the friends you've picked up along the journey) AND is also consistent with the development of the story thus far (I'm looking at you ME3 - a twist is fine, but it shouldn't be so out of keeping with everything that's gone before.)

1. The Main Story to have Branching Stories Story One. One Mages/Templars choosing a side to what would essentially be genocide for either faction. You can play as a mage or templar or you can play one of the classes that fights along with the factions. Story Two Qunari Invasion. The Qunari learned what happened to Arishok and Vow Vengence you play as the Qunari Invaders or the Thedians trying to defend their homeland. 3. Darkspawn/Deep Roads. Play as the Darkspawn trying to take over cities or play as warden or protanginst against the Darkspawn to wipe out the remaining Darkspawn from the blight. Dragon Compaign. Dragons have resurged in great numbers can either play as dragon destroying the land, fight the dragons to bring them back to excintion, also great way to have a new dragon rider class that can fight on or off the dragon. Story 4. Conclusion brings all the events of all three games into one conclusion the land could shaped however you made it with your choices.
2. Bring back characters. I like the idea of being a new protanginast but I would the option to have my Hero and My Hawke become companions in my story. Do not have them start with no abilities have them with the abilites they left off with and have the need to improve them more. Bring back all the companions from the previous game give them great depth and detail to them and let us know what has happened to them in the last years. Also if the Warden dies at the end of Origins have a great shrine and temple built for them. If the Warden had a child with Morrigan or any other companion go into depth on that. Also if My Hawke or Warden had a romance keep it alive let us know how they are doing.
3. Massive Map Include all the areas from Origins but make them different on how the times had changed them. Also make Kirkwall and Sundermount and the outlying areas playable once again too. Include new plays to play like Orlais and other key places found in Thedas. Have each area feel unique and different from one another the streets and back allies of Orlais, Denerim, and Kirkwall will all be different.
4. Character customization more expansive. Allow more races to be choosen, and some new classes that those races can benefit from. Also allow equipement to be used on a variety of classes like go back to the options on Orgins a rogue can set one with daggers longswords axes etc and set 2 as bow. Show how our protanginasts specializations affect the world how would our companions and citizens feel if they knew we were a blood mage, reaver, templar, etc. Also depth in emotion like in DA 2 with Anders show venom when killing or tears as an examplr.
5. Music include alot of music that can set the tone for whats about to happen. If there is a sad moment where someone major dies I want something that will further make me feel what my protangist is feeling same goes as for happy, sarcastic, anger, fear, and more.
Well these are my 5 cents worth hope you like my suggestions.

1) I'd like to see cross-class capabilities. There's never going to be a game that has no suggestions on how it's SUPPOSED to be played, but this isn't an on-the-rails shooter. Let me put a sword in my mage's hand. He can't really do much with it, but let me put a sword in his hand.
I'd also love to see a paladin-esque character that uses a shield as a primary weapon. Ultra-tank.
2) Please no pre-treed companions! It makes sense that Varric had points in archery when i got him in DA2, but when I pick up Zevran at level 10 in DA:O, he can only be a stealthing dual-wielder with almost no health. Maybe I wanted him to be a trapper, or an archer. But the pc put all his pre-earned points into things I didn't want. At the very least, let a respec be readily available.
3) Don't keep us on the DLC hook by making story elements purposefully arbitrary. DLC is what you buy when you love the game, when you want to see a bit broader scope and to pick up rewards for the main campaign. They're isolated adventures that add to the story, not chapters that are literally vital to the entirety of the plot. All the titles in the DA and ME series have done well with making DLC non-interfering with the main story. Until ME3, I'm sorry to say. I'll pony up for the game, the DLC, and the overpriced t-shirt, but I want to do it out of love, not confusion.
4) Have our previous heroes interact with our inquisitor IN THE CAPACITY THAT WE'VE PLAYED THEM. What I mean is, it'd be cool if a ruthless mercenary Hawke came into conflict with a do-gooder Inquisitor, or if an angelic Hawke attempted to help him with a noble cause. I'm not sure how extensive the import of the original warden is, but I'd like to see something other than a high school reunion-y cameo.
5) ME3s multiplayer is fun for me, but I feel like the party combat in Dragon age is better because you have 4 characters with abilities that only 1 player is balancing. Horde survival wouldn't really work, and what's to stop everyone from just playing a stealthing archer? Being a worker bee in some grand army justifies a repetitive premise, but I don't feel like DA will enjoy ME's MP success that way.

1) More customization (hairstyles, armors, weapons, race, ext..)
2) Cameos from previous characters and companions from the first two. If not a cameo than at the very least an explanation of what happened to him/her or what he/she is doing
3) Much longer than the previous two, and takes place in a bigger environment
4) More skill trees and talents/spells. And while I was fine with companions having their own specializations I would like the ability to give them more than one ( for example Merrill Dalish Pariah and Blood Mage)
5) No unanswered questions. If this is to be the last game in the series (which I don't know if it is, can someone confirm if its a trilogy or if its going to continue?) I want closure. And to know what becomes of the protagonist and his/her party members and the world he/she leaves behind.

1. Silent protagonist and removal of dialogue wheel.
2. Absence of Hawke.
3. Return to DA:O combat
4. Racial and class variety and beginnings at least nearly as good as DA:O
5. No repeat characters or protagonist.

1) Make more classic RPG things like the travel system in BG and having to go to a Temple to revive companions.
2) More companions and interactions with them.
3) Make the combat more about strategy and less about action.
4) Origins, Origins, Origins.
5) Co-op Multiplayer like Baldur's Gate.
Small Things: Capes, Horses, More weapon types, Slower movement while wearing heavy armor, More classes/Spec, Graphics like DA:O.

Just one. Please, please, PLEASE let us use a gamepad on the PC version of the game. I really want to purchase DA3 on the PC, since it looks so much better than on consoles, but I really want to play it with a gamepad (primarily because I'm at a keyboard for 10+ hours a day at work and when I'm at home, I try to avoid keyboards so that I don't further aggravate my RSI). I played both DA1 and DA2 on my 360 using it's extremely comfortable controller and I had no issues controlling my characters. Please give us the option of using the gamepad on the PC version as well!

Not including already existing features like the Friendship/Rivalry system (I really like that and the improvement on the combat, but I don't want that to take up slots in my choices...
1. More time spent with the Qunari. Tal-Vashoth, cultural dynamics...Sten too.
2. More time detailing the Tevinter Imperium
3. Closure on the Hawke story. Doesn't have to be anything detailed, but that single cliffhanger with a cancelled expansion might drive me up the wall, through my house, past the stratosphere, and into space.
4. Some balancing for the warrior classes. Two handers felt underpowered, and I didn't have the same satisfaction I had when I used a sword and shield character back in Origins. Which is a shame because they made Mages so much more interesting too.
5. More loot distribution. I feel like there was too little time spent on changing our character's gear, not just in terms of our companions, but even Hawke only had three solid sets of armor to pick up over the course of the game. The other stuff was pretty generic and made finding new gear boring, and buying new gear to be unsatisfying.
That's what is on my mind, thanks.

Ok my turn to give my Ideas:
1) A deeper feeling of continuation:
When I played DA2 with my imported DAO save I felt I was seeing easter eggs instead of long term concequenses I hope this gets a better treatment in DA3 =)
2) Deeper characters
I would rather be able to talk to my companions when I want like in DAO rather than in DA2 where you get some autodialogue until some flag is raised by a quest, it feels more real, and maybe a more RPG-ey.
Maybe it's just me but I also felt that companions in DA2 were too cliché (the cute shy foreign girl, the ****, the emo, the whiner, etc) what was funny is that you could see some self awareness from the devs in party banters...
3) A world to explore
Not just a city and please no more reuse of the exact same dungeon =)
4) More RPG! Less Action!
I would like the game to be way longer than DA2, DAO was an odyssey compared to it, I am deeply in love of "bioware-type" rpgs where the story feels epic, is long and you spend more time talking than fighting =)
I would like to be able to customize my companions gear, it's sad to collect all these items just to go sell them or put them in the trash bin
5) No "only human" playable character please
I'm already a human in real life, bioware games make me dream about things I'll never do and be, please human = average = boring in my opinion

I'm going to write a lot. Apologies.
So I got myself married a year ago and these last few months I've been introducing my wife to next-gen gaming. So far your games are the only ones she's developed a love for. We've played through all three Mass Effect games together, and it was a lot of fun. We just started playing Origins together, and though it was a little harder for her to get into it, now she's a fan. So my suggestions are going to be geared towards making my wife happy.
1. Make combat flashy and attractive.
So my wife does all the talking and I do all the fighting, er, in-game (sort of IRL too). After playing the Mass Effect series, my wife was very bored watching the combat in Origins. In ME she'd shout out instructions to me but in Origins I almost lost her interest in continuing the game at all. I haven't played DA2 yet (it's in the mail!), but it looks much more entertaining to watch so keep that up.
2. Ability to initiate "face-to-face" conversations with your party members anywhere and any time (excluding combat) like you could in Origins.
This is two parts.
(1) We like to talk to your characters, so even on a mission we want to ACTIVELY click on them and start chatting, rather than clicking on a scenic view and PASSIVELY hearing their thoughts on it.
And (2) Your facial animations are too good not to use. I personally don't like how in ME2 and ME3 that when you speak to a party member and they don't have unlocked a layered conversation and just say their line while you stay in 3rd person camera mode. Face-to-face conversations (or the conversations where the camera switches to that cinematic mode) do wonders in connecting us to your amazing characters. In my opinion, Garrus' lines just don't pack the same punch when I'm not looking him in the eyes and watching his facial ticks. I think it's a human need to see faces to really connect. I just don't think you should waste opportunities really make your always fantastic scripts really shine.
3. More customization in character creation.
This is less about race choice than it is about appearance. Since my wife is in it for the story and character interactions, a big part of the experience for her is getting a character that looks like her. My wife is racially mixed, and finds it hard to make her character look like her sometimes because most of the choices are pretty anglo.
We play your games on a 360 (and eventually the "720"). I know that probably I'll never get to experience the joy of using mods to get new hairstyles, skin tones, etc. But, man, if there's ANYTHING you can do, please give us more stuff to work with. I know there's probably no way to take modded material and port it for us consolers, otherwise I'm sure it would've happened already, but that would do absolute wonders for us.
4. Please don't have our PC say anything that we didn't choose to say.
There were points in ME3 when a conversation would happen, and it'd go like this: Player selects dialogue option, Shepard says "BLAH BLAH BLAH" Garrus says "BLAH BLAH" and without any prompts Shepard responds with "BLAH BLAH." I know it moves the scene along faster and helps pacing but it seriously severs my connection with "my" Shepard. Every time it happened I flinched. Not that Shepard necessarily said anything that I disagreed with, but suddenly there's this disconnect that I had managed to ignore. Obviously, Shepard is basically a pre-written character. But when we get to choose every dialogue option, we can pretend she isn't. Let us keep pretending.
5. More customization with clothing and armor.
This is my lowest priority suggestion, but would be a lot of fun. Let us dye stuff, mix and match, wear capes or cloaks over armor. My wife is playing a mage in Origins and refuses to wear the hat. I know that statement is nothing new, but still worth mentioning. Let people who want to wear robes and pointy hats do that, but also give us some sleaker, more modern options. Let us put emblems or insignia on our armor. Let us have points in the game (like at our camp) where we can change into casual/dress clothes.
6. Keep doing what you do well.

1. Characters that have believable motives. In DA2 half the population (including) Hawke acted silly, unrealistic and illogical. In DA Origins people acted like you would think they act. Please take your time this time again and think about what motives and goals people have.
(Just an example: Highly armed Soldiertype (Hawke) sacrifices everything to get inside a city thats in no way safer then the surroundings and acts like simply getting into that stupid city that is crawling with dangerous Villains would bring him into paradise, making us players disconnect with him because he acts stupid)
2. More time for romance. More romances but most of all slooooower! I as the character want to take my time getting to know the other characters and falling in love must take time. It would also be great if romances wouldnt just switch from one step to another alongside the mainstory (like in Mass effect) and instead would evolve according to the speed I decide them to happen. Being able to cuddle with your Li like in DA:O whenever you wanted was a supergreat immersion feature.
3. More realistic graphics. At least as realistic as in Dragon Age Origins but ideally as realistic as in Mass Effect 3. Stylized comic graphics do work for World of Warcraft but not for a game of the style of Game of Thrones.
4. Tactial combat system. It doesn't have to be slow but it can be slow. But choice of skills, weapon types and companions should have a great deal of feelable effect on the combat outcome so that if you chose the wrong armament (not weak weapons but the wrong type of weapon) or skills or companions, you would feel the fight get much much harder and the other way around of course.
5. another great feature would be something like housing or administration of land, castle, village etc that would evolve according to the time and effort I as a player dedicate to it and NOT to the amount of money I pour into it or the stage of the mainstory I am in.
1. Find out what happened to Morrigan, especially if she was romanced
2. The Return of the Warden
3. A more open word, not necessarily Skyrim sized (though that would be awesome!)
4. LOTS of character customization, and not just for the player character
5.More interaction and conversation choices between the Characters

1. Combat a smooth, responsive combination of DA:O (too slow) & DA2 (a little bit to "choppy").
2. More character combination & ability to change appearance in-game.
3. Better sex scenes & more meaningful romances.
4. A proper collector's edition (cd soundtrack, art book, book of thedas history & lore, perhaps a figure etc... NOT JUST DOWNLOADABLE STUFF!!!)
5. New characters & situations, returning characters as cameos only.

1. Herosexual romances. How you did it in DA2 was great Bioware, despite the critisism. People should, IMO, just learn to deal with what can happen in someone else's game. More romance options for players is better than less, in the long run.
2. Leveling-up gear. To me, how gear looks is more important than its stats. There are some gears that I would have loved to keep using in the previous two games, but couldn't from a gameplay standpoint because I couldn't kill enemies while wearing them. So if gear could simply level up with the PC while only providing bonuses to different attributes or rolls, that would be my ideal. This kind of system would mean less gear overall, but you would be able to use that gear for longer, and the art department can put more time into designing each one.
3. Keep the Friendship/Rivalry system. Loved it, Bioware. The only thing I'd like to change about it is provide a greater ability to gain points in either direction, so I don't feel the need to metagame with some companions(Sebastian and Rivalry!Isabella come to mind).
4. Deal with previous decisions/places we've seen before. I'd like to see how Fereldan's king and/or queen are doing(and whether they've made an heir yet
), and what has happened to the free Marches since Hawke left Krikwall. No need to go into GREAT detail, but it would be nice to know.
5. Handle the Warden/Hawke well. I know they are your characters to do with as you please, Bioware, and I ask that you treat them with the respect they deserve, but as they are such major characters, I think they should make an appearance. With Hawke you can provide him/her with a voice and a personality based on player choices from DA2, so that shouldn't be to difficult. But I would still like to see my Warden again, even if he/she is hidden behind a set of Warden armor, and his/her voice isn't EXACTLY how I imagined(as long as their voice makes sense, like the Dalish elf speaking like his/her clan in DA2).
6(yeah, I know the thread said five, but I couldn't help it!): An import save generator. I love DA:O and DA2, but I'd like to explore all the variations of imports that are possible without having to replay them over and over again. Plus, you can avoid a lot of the import bugs that plagued DA2, and it can be more clear what stuff actually affects DA3, since it will handle every flag that the import depends on(Hawke/Warden's gender/origin/class/ personality/romance along with any choices you think deserve mentions in DA3, such as the Ferelden throne, the Sacrifice to kill the Archdemon and who Hawke sided with in DA2). This might be a more simple system to adopt than actually using DA2/DA:O saves., and it would allow you to take more time acknowledging past player decisions, as well as allowing new players to experience some content they wouldn't have otherwise. Just sayin'

1. Silent Protagonist.
2. REALLY LONG gameplay time. 100+ hours.
3. Stronger Mages(Way stronger than in DA2, atleast up DA:O's standards. Mages are supposed to be one of the most powerful beings in the world. Let me experience that.)
4. Badass new Specializations. Like Telepaths(We are Inquisitors).
5. Lots of Mage Inquisitors so that my PC feels less like a "unique snowflake".

The return of trap making and traps.
Non-combat stealth sustain returning.
This way I can scout, place traps, and lead the enemy through traps and into an ambush. I missed this in DA2.
