1) more flexibility in character creation, customization, and advancement options (appearance, background, and capabilities/skills) than DA2 or to a lesser extent DA:O
2) more depth in tactical gameplay than DA2 w/ no spontaneously spawning 2nd and 3rd waves of foes out of thin air or giblet clouds when someone gets stabbed w/ a basic dagger attack. I get way more enjoyment out of slow, thought requiring gameplay than fast paced, "oooh snap, look how many dudes just 'sploded" gameplay. DA:O was pretty darn good in this respect IMO
3) more varied settings/areas/quests than DA2 or DA:O
4) bring back a full inventory. I can understand the drive to streamline to make a game console friendly, but DA2 took it way too far IMO.
5) basically give me a re-return to story driven tactical RPG, like DA:O but w/ more options/opportunities to explore, a new and original story line, and new and interesting characters to interact with

1) Character customization - Race especially. But I liked the customization in DA:O way better than DA2.

2) Silent protagonist - Hard to play through DA2 with the same gender twice; they have the same voice! Keep the icons though; they're especially handy for sarcasm.

3) Decisions and consequences - I want to see the outcome of some of my choices from all the games if I import a save.

4) Companion conversations - PC/NPC conversations like DA:O; NPCs interacting with each other like in DA2, but for longer than 5 seconds.

5) Bring back item descriptions/lore - I loved how a lot of items (even the junk ones) in DA:O had lore to them, but that suddenly disappeared in DA2.

I would love it if the romance icon for convo choices was not there, I don't like that it is almost as easy as "pick all the hearts" to get into a romantic relationship in DA2.
In DAO it took more thought - choosing dialogue options that actually went along with what a particular companion's ideals etc were. Sure there was scope to accidentally romancerate someone you didn't want to as the intention wasn't shown, but a combination would be better. Like a heart icon, which lead to say three or four options which would attain varying degrees of success or failure.

More dialogue than just an icon that dictates a pre-determined conversation would be ideal - i never felt like I was ever really choosing what to say - more just choosing the direction the convo would take, from hostile to "saucy" to sarcastic and whatnot.

1. Return of Characters. More Specifically Morrigan
2. Plot and interaction with plot, that the story in continued tastefully and the decisions from the past show more weight than the occasional nod.
3. Deeper customization, maybe bring in a chance to forge your own weapons and armor.
4. Romance choices are great, just maybe a few more than DA2
5. Don't Reuse the same level over and over again.

1. DO NOT REUSE LEVEL DESIGN, random encounters is one thing, side quests is another, hands down worst thing about DA2
2. Bring back inventory management, in all its detail, I want full NPC customization
3. Multiple races (DA:O style) or at least multi origins, for instance, if I am stuck with humans gimme nobles, orphans, barbarians (chasind).
4. Previous games effect the story, I chose Bhelen that matters. Alister is King of Ferelden, that matters, Hawke sided against the Mages as a Mage. I want my choices to matter. I can tell Bioware has been fiddling with code for years and now is the time to unleash it on us.
5. I want old god baby, Morrigan, and Flemeth; I think the Inquisition story provides an opportunity for some Flemeth shenanigans.

Thanks

I actually was thinking the same thing. Especially having "heart" icon right in your face. It's like I was metagaming in a way. For example, I wanted to say some other things or joke around with my companions, but I literally had to pick the heart  icon because I wanted "romance" achievement.
In DA:O in controversy I would choose reply I liked and then it was "Oh, cr*p, I just lost influence... Well, what do you do if she/ he disagrees with me?". It felt like more realistic dialogue because you do not have to agree all the times to be friends/ lovers.

The more customisation the better the rpg in my book. That means choices and consequences which are deep and varied and contain a 3rd alternative to most problems. The ability to hide information that pops up that makes things too metagamey would be good. Things like floating arrows to quest objectives etc. I don't know, feature wise realise that a games mechanics aren't the same as a game's aesthetics for the player and that would be something at least.

I already know that what I want is (1)very storyline-intensive, and (2) would probably take a crazy amount of space, and a lot of time to code. XP Which, the first part is what's most important to me, as long as it doesn't interfere with the second too much.
Although it was shorter and had more repetitive areas, I preferred DA2 over DA:O because it had more story-related things I liked (more romances, a PC with a voice and personality, and what seemed like more/funnier banter). And, since I loved DAs for the storyline/personal interactions rather than the battle system, it had more replayability for me. I like seeing the different choices and small changes based on your character (I even loved how playing a female mage in the tower would get Cullen to admit feelings), but I didn't want to fight through the whole Circle Tower just to see everyone's dreams.

Also, I haven't been on a board talking about any of the Bioware games in while (not that I ever did much), so this is detailed and both a little praise-y and a little rant-y. So, I'm bolding the basic points.

(in no order..except romance and personality are actually the biggest points)
1. I assume Hawke and Warden are returning, but I'll state that anyway, since I'm also worried they'll just be mentioned a lot. But, I want (1) their romances intact and active, (2) give the option to change them visually, or at least the Warden since DAO and DA2 visuals are pretty different...and I made them virtually the same person, and I'd want to change that without having to do the same story and choices over again. Of course, races and genders would stay the same, though.

2. PC Personality. I liked that in DA2, and I would like the new PC (if there is one) to have one and would like the Warden to have a voice that's actually used in coversation and personality. It would probably be harder, since you'd add in race and probably origin (since a human and dwarf would most likely have different accents). I assume personality-wise,. either you could have a part where you play the warden (at least temporarily), and make choices that decide their personality like the beginning of DA2. Or, you could just have us choose from basic personalities, but give us a suggested one based off our DA:O choices.
Of course, I did see that someone wanted a silent protagonist, and I can understand why. It was weird for my second and third female characters to have the same voice as the first, with totally different looks and personalities. And, since I started off with a female, the male voice didn't seem right, saying the almost the exact same things as my female, but with a man's voice. But, I still prefer voices, so I'd probably suggest making it an option/setting to turn off protagonist voices?

3. Romances, of course. But, I'd also like the possibility to have a happy ending with anyone, given the right choices. Right choices, including the character type, of course. Alistair breaking up with you after becoming king was sad, but it did made sense based on my choices--the right combination of choices will let you keep a relationship with him. But, having a relationship end like the Thane Krios relationship in ME3 was sad, but also annoying. My aunt and I were both hoping for a way to save him--like a sidequest we could choose to take. But, from what I know and looked up (although that was just now and not for long), his death is inevitable. I don't mind if bad things happen for natural choices. I just also want to be able to make certain choices to ensure a happy ending.

4. Better styles, depending on who your character is, of course. I mean, new Flemeth looked cool! My characters don't always... Maybe a way to customize certain things. Or at least something like WoW's transmogrification (at least my understanding of it)--letting us pretty much move stats to new clothes/armor (although I'm sure it's technically the other way around). It could even just be DLC or something, like the ability to edit your character's looks with the Black Emporium.

5. Visual endings, especially if this really is the last one (can't remember if it was official, or if it's something I've assumed from hearing trilogy a lot). In DAO, everyone's endings were in text with changing backgrounds to fit the subject. In DA2, they have a clip to get interest in DA3, but Varric pretty much just talks your ending. In DA3, I want to see something visually happy. It doesn't need to be everything, even. Just your character/s (Hawke/Warden/new PC--any and all that are featured), either with your love interest or them having their own ending, and maybe certain companions (probably the ones that reached 100%--if like in DAO, maximum approval, or if like in DA2, maximum Friendship, and maybe Rivalry). Other things can have the old DAO style. If I get to decide the fate of a city I pass through, but I don't stay in, I don't mind a DAO-esque ending for it before or after the clips. Although, if the storyline ends up kind of like DAO, where you get multiple story/beginning options and the game has fits them all into the game's main story, I would like to see related decisions in clips as well, but it wouldn't be more important. (DAO ex: If I chose a Dwarf, I would prefer a clip about the effects of choosing the king, but wouldn't care if the rest of the choice endings were the text on a background).
I'm not picky with visuals, I liked the endings in Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. It didn't have any words; just small clips of the villagers, officers you worked with, and (my favorite) you and your spouse, all peaceful and happy. I'd prefer more for an RPG, but I'd be happy with something like that.

No particular order
- Some anti-hero backstories(if backstories exist) like a Mercenary backstory for example. I'd like the chance to play the anti-hero in a deep RPG for once.
- Quality archer abilities.
- Be able to give detailed voice commands to party members ex: "Trish guard Merlin, Rick cover my left flank." or "Help! Help! I'm under attack!" it would also be cool if they could recognize compliments.
- A Hurlock party member(male or female)
- Characters voiced by Nathan Fillion, Seth Green, and Paul Mercier for the voice of the tag along merchant.

That would be some lame*** lulz. The SI VO's in SWTOR  makes me sad just listening to them:sick:

Edit: May as well put my 5 reasons i whant in DA3:

1. More conversations scenes and dialog (can never have enough of that).

2. Companions needs more dialog banner.

3. Combat system from DA2 or something like it.

4. A well thought out ending not one that is rushed like ME3 had/has.

5. Let us import our own Warden from DA1 and let him/her have a big role in DA3 , and allso the same for our own Hawke if he/her is in DA3.

5.b Or let us have our own Hawke become a companion in DA3.

My Turn!
1) DLC for EVERYONE! (this does not predispose having early release for special people, like getting something at a con months or even a year before it's up for purchase.)
2) The ability to have a silent protagonist... though I know it won't happen. I still want a successor to Origins and not a sequel.
3) More Flemeth!
4) No exploding bodies except for magic.
5) Finishing moves! Even though some people hated how the ogre and dragon finishing moves slowed down the game.... I really liked those and would NOT like them to be turned into a cutscene... because cutscenes remove player agency. And having them be a cutscene will probably make that one ogre/dragon's death the same in EVERY playthrough... which is lame and stupid, if pretty.

  •  Explain where the Warden and Hawke disappeared to - I'm less fussed about seeing / interacting with them but I'd like those loose ends to be tied up
  • Customisation of npcs - I know they've said they're doing this with the armour but I want more choice with the skill trees too (e.g. let me pick which mage is my healer)
  • A few different races / origin stories to pick from - this is what made DA:O more re-playable than DA2 imo
  • More locations (but not open world)
  • See the effect of choices as you go along rather than a big reveal at the end

Returning party members like Alistair , morrigan especially her, Maybe Isabella but less hornier etc
No wavy combat a la Me3 and DA2
No autodialogue a la Me3 and DA2
Armor customisation main character and companions unlike Me3 and DA2
No dialogue with party members without cinematic camera like Me3 and DA2
No multiplayer like Me3 and DA2
Non linear quests unlike Me3 and DA2
keep combat a mix from DA2 and DAO. keep the best of these 2 worlds, keep it fast, not too fast like DA2, more tactical a la DAO, more difficult, eliminate difficulty spikes like in DA2.
Make Qunari consitently looking
NO MORE comic artstyle. DA2 had attrocious artstyle, too japanese emo manga style imo.
MORE DIALOGUE options.
Do not care for mute protagonist.
and finally the most crucial of all
***drum roll***
Choices that DO matter with alternate storylines.

Not sure whether it's possible, but if it is, I would really love it if there were a toolset for DA3.

I'd also like to see the tactical combat camera come back. (If that's already been confirmed one way or the other, I apologize for being redundant.)

I would like my character to have a voice, like in DA2.I was so shocked to hear Hawke actually speak, in DAO it was bugging me that my character was silent.

Please don't get rid of Dialogue, I love hearing characters speak.

I also like the world styles of both Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2- I think a similar system would be great!

Also, once we beat the campaign; I wish we could still explore the towns instead of being stuck at camp or at the estate or black emporium.

1- Those little blurbs for items. Those little bits of text that describe the item in more detail or give a little history. It's a small thing it it greatly adds to my interest in the game.

2- No leveled items. Having my arcane and historic blade outclassed by a mass produced iron longsword is silly.

3- A place or method that allows me to outfit all or most followers at once without needing to swap people in and out to check all their gear.

4- Greater clarity in what dialogue I'm selecting will actually be saying. Sometimes I wasn't entirely clear on what exactly I would be saying.

5- An epilogue such as we had for DAO and DAA. Not only do they provide closure for characters but they provide a sense of "wow, I did a lot didn't I?"

1. Choices, which impact my companions (e.g. “harden” characters from DA:O), the environment, conversation options and the outcome of quests and storyline. I do not mind unavoidable events(e.g. the destruction of Lothering), but I do mind fixed outcomes when a character actually has options. Reuse certain areas if you want to, but show the results of your choices on the environment and people. And surprise me if choices don’t work out as anticipated.

2. A slow build up of the story and abilities. The final chapter in DA2 felt disjointed and out of place and the ending was rather abrupt. The waves of enemies early on did not gave the feeling that a player was growing in ability. I should kill rats when I am level 1, not hordes of darkspawn…

3. Limited the number of classes and skill trees. Give every class and skill set a unique playing experience. Give every class unique options for certain quests (e.g. stealth for rogues) or class specific quests lines. Keep the cross class combos, although refine them a bit (Multipliers, different effects such as slowing, etc.). The crafting system in DA2 was an improvement.

4. Side Quests and Loot, with some degree of logic. I also wonder what why a giant spider wears armour or a ring or why dark spawn carry silver. Equipment should have less impact of the character stats of a character and there should be balanced trade-off between sets of equipment, not a single “ultimate” set from mandatory bosses. Reward me for exploration and doing the side quests.

5. Puzzles and roll playing options in quests. I always liked solving the puzzles, participating in the Landsmeet in DA:O and preparing the trial in NWN2. Sometimes I would like to opt for something else than the brute force method and to be rewarded for that mental effort.
