1. Choices from DA:O and DA2 has a significant impact on the story of DA3
2. No multiplayer, and if there must be multiplayer, for it to have NO IMPACT AT ALL ON SINGLE PLAYER
3. Would be nice to play as either the Warden from DA:O or Hawke from DA2, if that isn't planned at the very least they should be extremely important characters
4. Dungeons that actually vary in design
5. Morrigan and her son or whatever to appear and have an impact on the story

Ultimatly, I want a good story, with in depth characters.
The gameplay is important, sure, but in the end what will make me remember and recommend a game to others is the story, not the awsome combat system.

1. Choices that have profound effects.
2. A lot of customization  in Character Creation, armor, weapons, etc.
3. Interesting & meaningful sidequests.
4. More dialogue options to select from.
5. Allow previous decisions from Origins & DA2 to impact what occurs in DA3.

1. That for once, Bioware stays true to what they say. Not "both console version will be the same" and then one runs really bad, no "Your decision matter" and then they don't, etc

2. Big world with various enviroment like in DA1. Not 1 small city area and 2 recicled dungeons for the whole game like in DA2

3. DA1 combat system (or at least not a buton masher like DA2)

4. Voiced Main Character

5. Choose Race/class/Origin of main character

1. Characters (in order of importance): Morrigan, Warden, Hawke, Allistair, Sten, Bohdan and Sandal, Oghren, Carver, Sigrun...
2. A chance to join the Qunari/ to bring down the Chantry.
3. If possible, i'd like to see the consequences of previous decisions that made a big difference (Architect, Orzammar Politics, Morrigans Dark Ritual ect., etc.) the more the better.
4. Player character voice acting (made such a huge difference in DA2)
5. Friendly fire on hard difficulty, not just on insane.

Then again if its anything like DA:O or DA2 i'll be happy. After all i've never been disappointed with any Bioware game. This will be awesome.

1. Unvoiced main character, so we can have different 'origins' as in DA:O/play as different races
2.. Returning characters, like Leliana and Morrigan, but not as cameos, hopefully as companions
3. Character customization, like the ones they mentioned about armour, really hoping to see that implemented
4. Areas a bit less linear, more freedom in exploring an area rather than following pathways
5. Importance of decisions in previous games

1. Being able to see the full line of dialogue before we say it.

2. More one-on-one time with companions

3. Cleaner or no importing. (In the case of the latter, don't pick a defined canon, just build a story that can fit with everyone's choices.)

4. Varied ways to complete quests. I hated that pretty much every quest in DA2 ended in fighting, fix that please.

5. SKILLS. I loved skills. They not only were fun and useful, they were also a neat way to further define your character.

For my part I'd love to see:

1) multiple playable races in the single-player campaign (and in MP, however that will be handled...hopefully like Baldur's Gate).
2) female dwarves in game and also as LIs, as well as male and female representation for all races
3) different background origins, especially for mages (rather than only apostate, for example)
4) being able to again speak to companions/LIs whenever desired would be wonderful
5) a straightforward dialog interface
6) the Warden featuring in some fashion, as well as significant Gray Warden-related plotlines
7) significant plotlines related to all the races
8) a well-plotted game with proper time to develop would be ideal

1. Choices that really matter and make a difference in the world and storyline
2. More customization when it comes to armor and follower's armor
3. More interaction with companions. Being able to talk to them more often and have more interaction with their plots
4. A voiced PC
5. More variety in the environments that we go to and more places to visit

1. Jennifer Hale
2. Women of all the species present in the game
3. Skills granting non-combat abilities (strength modifying intimidation skill etc)
4. Alternative ways to skip mook combat (escaping, bribing, setting a trap, intimidating, making a deal with the attackers etc)
5. Extensive character creator, maybe allowing different complexions.

Can I also mention 5 things I think DA2 did right?
1. Amount of auto dialogue
2. Subjective sexuality
3. Voiced protagonist
4. Mage gameplay
5. Player armor

And finally 5 things I'd like NOT to see?
1. DRM
2. Day 1 DLC
3. A Hawke or Hero of Ferelden that is not mine
4. Female-specific walking/running animation unless Jen Hale does the mocap.
5. Giving magic to everyone as a solution to the war or similar symbolic "transcendent" ending.

In no particular order:

- Meaningful quests. No fetch quests like DA2 or ME3.

- No awesome button. Strategy, and not button mashing, should win fights.

- The strategic view point that was present in DAO.

- Double click DA3.exe and the game starts. No Origin. It was pointless in ME3, it's a terrible service, and it only hurts legitimate buyers.

- Grey and grey morality.

- Michael Beattie voicing a major character as compensation for replacing him in ME3.

That sixth one was on the house.

Edit: From this list it seems like I want them to make DAO again, but I like both DA games equally. Therefore I'll list a few things from DAO that I disliked:

- Morrigan

- Art style (or lack thereof)

- Slow combat

- A very generic fantasy storyline

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at - however, I am sure that you're not trying to engage in polite and civil discussion, so let's drop this whole side bar, how about?

I'm not going to argue assumptions and who lables what "polite and civil discussion". I certainly did not use any foul language and I find that BioWare's response to anyone saying something that is not glowing praise is to put their heads in the sand in hopes that it goes away.

But that is neither here nor there.

My initial response was what you've trained into me over the last 4 years. Hype and a failure to deliver is what I've experienced for the large amount of money I've spent on BioWare products.

I don't want this to suck.

I had already decided I was not going to buy DA3. I'm not going to pre-order it because I find that marketing practice to be rather distasteful. It is a bribe to a consumer to purchase something sight-unseen and then those "pre-order" numbers are then used in marketing to demonstrate how 'great' the game is.

But, still deep inside, there is some lingering hope that BioWare can still put out a whole, complete, quality experience. If that happens, I might buy it.

Take it as you will. If, as a company, you can't take criticism, I suggest you get out of the industry. People aren't always going to love you and they'll tell you. Deal with it.

On topic:

3) A proper ending. That ends the current story. I'm not talking Return of the King-long, but there should be some way to wrap things up.

4) Let us play as Elves or Dwarves again.

5) Epic boss fights with different mechanics.

I honestly like the sound of "Dragon Age: Inquisition" better, to many 3's and 7's and 2's these days. Its cleaner and would probably look cooler on the box anyway

1. Characters from DA:O and DA:2 that had MAJOR impacts on the game plot such as Isabella, Anders, Morrigan and Alistair.

2. the dialogue system where your level opens up new options such as willpower opening up a different kind of insight than cunning.

3. the fast combat. While strategy-based combat needs improvement please don't slow down the combat just because some people don't like "button mashing". If they can make camera speed options something you can set than perhaps they can make combat speed on option you can set. For myself I LOVED the immediate feeling of DA2's combat as opposed to click -watch an animation -and click. When super mario rpg introduced imediate combat to the rpg no one complained during the snes era but rather applauded it. It's truly strange how many people are against it now (I tend to think they are a minority).

4. Investigate in conversations. ME3 (though a different franchise) barely had any investigate where you can choose to ask more questions and I really missed it. I hope Dragon Age doesn't abandon it. Using the wheel in Dragon Age 2 was nice because you knew what answers would give you more dialogue and what answers would end the conversation where as DA:O it was really confusing.

5. The crazy awesome area attacks like earthquake, firestorm or raining arrows. They may not do as much damage as they seem they should, but they are really fun to watch. How Varric's Bianca manages to shoot a storm of arrows is beyond me, but it was extremely entertaining.

1. Multiple factions/origins; Seeing as it's called Inquisition, I'm going to assume the PC is somehow directly involved in that, so having multiple faction/origin options at the start would be lovely. Wardens, Chantry, Qun, Templars, Mages, whoever else, all would be fun to play, though obviously some carry class restrictions; Qun and Templars would certainly never use mages, and mages are well, mages.

2. Preferably no MP. If MP is forced in, don't make it seem that way. Portal 2's Coop was very well done, it had new characters and new content, and most importantly it had story, even if it was light, it was still there. See ME3's MP as a good way not to introduce your own, have the MP mean more than just brainless fun, other games will always do that better than you can, given you have limited MP resources(Hopefully..). A small, story involved MP might even be fun, focus on a specific thing, a Grey Warden MP for four players focused on doing something along side our main story would be really fun, I think.

3. More varied character customization. That means races, more than anything else, but I would broaden it to mean more than one armor style for all classes, maybe Templar heavy or Warden heavy armors, mage or rogue focused lighter armors, etc, multiples for every class.

4. Less DA2 combat animations. Caveat here; DA2 rogues were perfect, they were agile and very mobile. The mages were tolerable, if the same from DAO(Stand in one spot and watch the combat... ). But the warriors, leaping 30 feet with 6 foot swords and heavy armor, was not only a death sentence for immersion, but made it impossible for me to take warrior Hawke's story seriously. Go back towards Origins, but speed up and vary the range of motions characters can use in combat. Try tackles or charges for warriors/rogues, ducks, rolls, small dodges or side-steps. Maybe have more varied casting animations for mages, use the hands and staff in different ways.

5. Wealth of content. I don't care for duration that much, all we truly want is good content and less filler(read, the fetch quests). I don't really care if the game is 40 hours, so long as it's a good 40 hours.

1. Far more options for character creation and origin. DAO got this very much right. Honestly, I wouldn't complain about even more variety than DAO, but I think that should be your yardstick. You did it right with that game.

2. Much more tactical combat. I really, really enjoyed the combat in DAO, especially at high difficulty levels. Things like friendly fire from spells, spell combos, many different ways to build a tank, and a movable camera just made combat far more interesting for me than DA2 style. I also very much disliked the "waves" in DA2. To me it felt very un-RPGish for want of a better term. Assassins popping out from the shadows, or some genlocks pouring in through side passages in an ambush is one thing. Wiping a group out completely and suddenly having their twins pop out of thin air just isn't as interesting to me. I honestly feel like you could reach a pretty good compromise. I understand that you want things a bit more fast paced for beginners than DAO, but a lot of us veteran RPG players enjoy challenge and strategy in combat.

3. Decisions that REALLY matter. The ending of DA2 was a bit of a letdown for me, personally. I decided to help Orsino, and suddenly he goes all Golems of Amgarrak on me? I help out nutjob Meredith and she still goes all templarbomination on me? No matter what I do with Anders, he turns into a crazy terrorist? Whether or not to bring your sibling into the Deep Roads felt like it had more impact than any other decision in the game, but even if you leave them behind they're still effectively gone.

You guys did a better job with making the player feel like they had agency in DAO. Even if all roads led to the Archdemon, the game felt very different if you took a different path. I also liked the morality system in DAO better. You weren't forced into stereotyped "good guy" "class clown" "douchey good guy" lines for every single conversation ever. DAO stands out as a masterpiece of the genre because of the amount of freedom it gave the player. You could play as the ultimate goody-goody. You could play as something close to a bad guy, despite doing the goodguy thing in the end. You could be greedy. You could be selfless. You could be coldly pragmatic. Your actions sometimes had big impacts on the way your companions behaved for the rest of your game (Alistair "hardening", for example).

I think the reason you see so many people asking to play their Warden again is because their Warden really was THEIR Warden. For many of us, our Hawke didn't feel as much like our Hawke. I understand that you have a story to tell, but I think it's much better to err on the side of giving the player too much freedom, because feeling railroaded can really break immersion.

Honestly, even something like picking a spec should have consequences. It always bothered me that there were no consequences for being a blood mage. I know the Wardens are OK with blood magic, but that might not be the best way to win hearts and minds. Wynn definitely shouldn't be A-OK with being forced into blood magic. Even factoring those kinds of decisions in makes the world feel much more alive.

4. Greater customization in terms of how we play our character. I hate to use DAO as my point of reference again, but it's a good one. There were a huge number of different ways that you could build almost any class in DAO, and they often played in distinctly different ways. There were min-max specs, but with DAO I always felt that I could build the character I wanted, the way I wanted to. The talent tree system from DA2 is superior in my opinion, but didn't feel as flexible as DAO for some reason. Perhaps too many points? Not enough differentiation?

I think this variety was a big part of DAO's replayability. I played at least 3 different rogues, 4 different warriors, and 3 different mages. Each one played differently.

5. A big, living world with varied environments. The night vs day aspect of DA2 was great, and I'd love to see that return in DA3. I know "I want a big world!" is kind of a stereotpyical SPRPG request, but I really do want a big world, and a living world. I'd love to see the world change over time, see herbs grow, see a Dalish clan move, see seasons change, see a new criminal gang spring up and grow powerful because I bumped off a relatively moderate leader, etc. Give me a reason to travel the world. I love exploration. I love finding secret, hidden areas. I liked the random encounters in DAO, even if they were a bit too scripted at times, they made traveling feel like it mattered.

Having a city's inhabitants move about and do their own thing makes everything feel much more alive. Seeing someone getting mugged in an alleyway and having the chance to intervene, or seeing a thief steal something from a merchant and being able to either chase him down, or take advantage of the distraction he provided. Basically, making things seem a bit more "real".

1. As a console player, keep and improve upon DA2's combat. It was truly a step up from Origins.

2. The sense of every story arc bringing something new of the world. I once read a BioWare quote that the focus of the series was the world. Then show me there's more to it than Templars and Mages. Bring back the sense of wonder from DA: Origins.

3. Cameos from previous games' characters referencing your decisions. If Hawke and Isabela ended up a couple, tell me about their pirate adventures or whatever. If I killed Anders, then recognize this. I was fairly satisfied with how DA2 showed me my DA: Origins decisions.

4. This is not a "hate ME3" post since I like ME3, but if there's one thing the outcry showed, it's that the ending really matters in a game where you invest in your decisions and characters. Please take the necessary time to make the ending great, as I do not believe that DA2 did this satisfactorily, either, with no epilogues on your characters and the relative sameness of the final act regardless of your choices.

5. Keep the customizable "base" that exists in Origins as your camp, DA2 as the Hawke mansion, and ME as the Normandy. Have the base change in appearance/content as the story progresses.

Just five? Well let's see.

1. A good story
2. Room to play out my pathological heroism
3. New Game +, so I can put that end-game loot to use.
4. Big, cool looking monsters to fight that are NOT giant spiders.
5. And, I don't know, a Dragon or two.
