2) Return to old dialogue format. I missed being able to keep on talking to my companions whenever even if it was abound mundane topics like; "I'd like to know more about the grey wardens." from Alistair, not just getting a "We shouldn't talk here." from Bethany.
Though it seems like the new system is more likely to stay, I'm just giving my 2 cents as a fan.
3) Stronger and more indepth Character Development. I felt like some of the characters in DA2 were slightly "flatter" then DA: O. They were still Bioware quality but I didn't grow all too attached like I did in DA: O.
In the first game I was amazed at how some characters like Sten and Zevran I actually detested at first in my original playthrough, however I learned more about their complex personality and grew fond of each of them.
And by helping each character, they changed a bit in a good way depending on how I interacted with them.
Again all of this was in DA2, but no where near as powerful as DA: O
4) A more direct antagonist. I had a hard time attaching myself to the story of DA2 and even ME2 by the lack of a relatable antagonist. This is pretty cliche I know, but it's a cliche that in my mind, adds to the driving force of the story which is why it's a cliche in the first place. Saren and Loghain were great antagonists. I feel Flemeth has the potential to become one as well if she were to become that entity.
5) A stronger story arc. This returns a bit to my previous point a bit. In DA2, it seemed their were 3 story arcs with a mild crescendo foreshadowing the overall Mage vs. Chantry business. However it was pretty straight forward what was going to happen. There wasn't enough (in my mind strong plot twists). There were a few twists that were well done and added to the depth of the story, however, it all culminated up to a climax which was expected, at least from me, from the moment I saw the title screen.
There has been a few times where I went to play DA2 but I just lacked the desire to return for another playthrough. I felt there wasn't enough of a motivation to me. I can respect the type of hero that Bioware seemed to make out Hawke to be, but at the same time it wasn't selling it for me.
Summary:
Most of this is critique based off previous games and obviously is merely my own opinion. Bioware has a history of making great games and I'll look forward to playing DA3: Inquisition regardless if my critiques / recommendations are accepted.
