1) Character cameos or appearances. Personally, I'd love to see my previous main characters somewhere. That's just me however.

2) Return to old dialogue format. I missed being able to keep on talking to my companions whenever even if it was abound mundane topics like; "I'd like to know more about the grey wardens." from Alistair, not just getting a "We shouldn't talk here." from Bethany.
Though it seems like the new system is more likely to stay, I'm just giving my 2 cents as a fan.

3) Stronger and more indepth Character Development. I felt like some of the characters in DA2 were slightly "flatter" then DA: O. They were still Bioware quality but I didn't grow all too attached like I did in DA: O.
In the first game I was amazed at how some characters like Sten and Zevran I actually detested at first in my original playthrough, however I learned more about their complex personality and grew fond of each of them.
And by helping each character, they changed a bit in a good way depending on how I interacted with them.

Again all of this was in DA2, but no where near as powerful as DA: O

4) A more direct antagonist. I had a hard time attaching myself to the story of DA2 and even ME2 by the lack of a relatable antagonist. This is pretty cliche I know, but it's a cliche that in my mind, adds to the driving force of the story which is why it's a cliche in the first place. Saren and Loghain were great antagonists. I feel Flemeth has the potential to become one as well if she were to become that entity.

5) A stronger story arc. This returns a bit to my previous point a bit. In DA2, it seemed their were 3 story arcs with a mild crescendo foreshadowing the overall Mage vs. Chantry business. However it was pretty straight forward what was going to happen. There wasn't enough (in my mind strong plot twists). There were a few twists that were well done and added to the depth of the story, however, it all culminated up to a climax which was expected, at least from me, from the moment I saw the title screen.
There has been a few times where I went to play DA2 but I just lacked the desire to return for another playthrough. I felt there wasn't enough of a motivation to me. I can respect the type of hero that Bioware seemed to make out Hawke to be, but at the same time it wasn't selling it for me.

Summary:
Most of this is critique based off previous games and obviously is merely my own opinion. Bioware has a history of making great games and I'll look forward to playing DA3: Inquisition regardless if my critiques / recommendations are accepted.

And lastly... Bioware grow a pair and stop giving us these PG-13 romance conclusions, the games are rated for adults for crying out loud. I honestly can't sit through the "rutting" scene between Hawke and Isabela because it's so bad, I skip it every time.

BTW Lady Hawke has the wrong body frame to be carrying Isabela, it should have been flipped for that version. XD

1. Let us play as different RACES! I demand to be a small female elf.
2. Improved character interaction than Dragon Age 2. Origins had it right.
3. Bigger emphasis on romance.
4. Large world! Lots of exploration and discovery.
5. Seriously. Let us play as different races.

 I would have to say
the top 5 things I would really really REALLY like to see in dragon age 3 is

1. Returning characters like Varric, Alistair,
Morrigan(sp?), Shale and Wynne

If those characters do cameos then make it longer than
5 minutes and have it so if you have other characters with you they will react,
like when Alistair appeared in dragon age 2 if only appeared for 5 minutes and
the only people to react to him where Avaline, Isabela and Anders.  If you
brought any other character with you they wouldn't say anything period.
They need to make character reactions towards each other more in depth
and better.

But generally I want these characters to return to
the game and be playable like in origins or 2.  No one knows what happened
to Shale, Wynne or Morrigan really other then she disappeared threw the mirror,
Wynne is suppose to be dead and Shale wanted to return to her body.  And I
just like Varric and Alistair because they are awesome and I love em.

2.  Customization

Better outfits and customization, dragon age
origins they armors were horrible to look at unless you had the pc version and
modded but for the ps3 and possibly the Xbox (don't have one so don't know)
they were eww to look at.  Dragon age 2 had better ones but still needs
some improvement.  Now for the looks department, in Origins they didn't
give us much at all to work with, honestly out of all the hair styles I maybe
used one.  The faces however weren't bad in the least.  So nicer and
cooler outfits and facial/half options

3.  In depth conversations with other
playable characters

In dragon age origins you could talk to one of
your party members and have a conversation with them, limited because you had
to repeat things when you ran out of questions or whatever but still you could
talk to them whenever.  Dragon age 2 they took that away and you couldn't
really talk to them anytime period.  Yes you could talk to them during a
quest but you were extremely limited in choice.  I realize they were using
a voiced character for hawke but I'm sure if they had implemented the in depth
conversation thing Dragon age 2 would of been more of a hit.  So I hope
they bring that back.  Personally I loved the conversations with Shale, it
was so funny.

4.  Better Combat Skills/class skills

Dragon age origins you got a point every like 10
levels or something that you could put into this specialization and thus get 5
skills from that and I thought that was pretty awesome, Dragon age 2 they did
they same thing except you got a tree BUT you must HAVE a mode activated for
you to use them.  Like with the healer spells mode must be active. They
made that pretty lame I think, so I hope they improve on that.  And I want
to turn into a freaking DRAGON!!!!!! lol

5.  I want the party camp and romance options
that were in DAO BACK!!!! and possibly more in depth.

I miss the romance and what not that was in
origins, it helped you relate much more in that game, all you got in 2 was a
kiss and some retarded romance scene that lasted 5 seconds not even. I WANT THE
ROMANCE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and as a 6th I know it only says 5 but I have a
lot to say because I just never shut up lol.

the 6th thing would have to be more of a
storyline, origins had it perfect.  you could pick whatever race and you
got your own story from that, 2 you could only play as a human and were stuck
to that story line, nothing else.

I don't care about races (thou if you do bring
them back FIX THE ELVES!!!!!!!!)

I just want more of a story, like you could start
was a human from the circle, or homeless or adopted by a dwarf (not exactly
that but you get the picture) I just want variation from just one straight and
narrow line.  That's why I love origins.  you could pick from so many
story beginnings and npcs would react to that and that's what I loved!

Please bring that back.!!!

Also I want to travel more, NO MORE LIMITATIONS ON
TRAVELING!!!!!!!

That's what is most important to me because those
things say for one or two helped me relate 20 times better to the games,
Origins I honestly felt like it was a battle just to get threw one quest and
eject the game and go back to Origins, that's how I felt most of the time.
So I hope that Bioware/EA reads this and they take in our suggestions.

1. To echo everyone else....conversations with companions! No garbage like in ME3 where Ashley is my LI, is hospitalized for ten hours of gameplay, and then all she says when she gets out is "Commander." Then she barely speaks to you for the rest of the game. Wow.

2. A plot that reacts to player decisions throughout the game, not just at the end.

3. A strong set of antagonists that are active within the story.

4. Darker tone!

5. Varied gear for all characters. DAO had tons of samey gear, for example. I like visual feedback that my character is leveling up and finding new armor to wear!

I wholeheartedly agree on this! :)
Sten was a guy I disliked at the start as well, then he grew on me. In the end, he was the one I respected the most.
In DA:O, the characters were so.... deep!

The only character I grew a bit fond of in DA2 was Varric, the rest I didn't give a crap about.
Fenris could've been something akin to Sten, but it didn't succeed in that way... Inferior writing, perhaps? I dunno, but DA:O made the characters much better.

Maybe it's because of all the talking you can do with your characters at all time. I used to spend hours in the camp (great ambient music) talking to my companions. In the end I was saddened by the fact that I exhausted all topics of discussions with my companions, and I was happy as a child on christmas morning when they had something new to discuss.

In DA2, you only got to talk when they wanted/or had anything to discuss before and after missions... it felt forced.

IMO, free talking with companions needs to be returned for a deeper experience. Perhaps spread the topics out in friendship/rivalry and story. Some topics open up when your friend/rival, other after you visit a place or do something. That way we get new topics to discuss with them all the time, without going overboard like me. :P

Also, since Bioware is checking this topic I want to sneak in my controls for consoles suggestion:

I dislike the current format of controls. We need more hotkeys. Being a mage, it is a really slow and awkward process to utilise all of my spells. (I will use the PS3 scheme)
Pressing L2, then choosing "spells/abilities", then choosing the specific spells is a real pain!

Ditch the L1/R1 to choose character, map it to d-pad up and down. D-pad left/right changes target.
Give us 9 hotkeys, by adding R1 to the mix. So now we would have:
Square, Triangle and Circle
R1 + Square, Triangle and Circle
and R2 + Square, Triangle and Circle.

That would take care of most of the problems.

But let's say we have even more spells we want to use...
The L1 button should function as an "favourites"-wheel. Where you can map 12 favourite skills/tactics/items to a single wheel. Mapping should function as it does with the hotkeys. You can map potions, tactics, and everything to it.

Bioware, if you are reading this, please do something about the control-setup! It's a real pain!!!

Well Bioware i don't know if you guys are still looking at these boards or not but... heres my list of things i want to see
1- I want to learn what has happened to my previous characters in the previous games. I don't care if you use cameos or storylines or what not but i want to find out what happened to them after all this time. so wynne is dead/ alistair is king/ sten became the new arishok/ lelliana became a seeker- what about the rest of them like zevran? Merrill ? Nathanial Howe? Bethany or Carver my choice is Bethany but still...i want those plot points tied up.

2- I would love to see the world go much much darker like exploring the black city dark because like the old saying goes its always darkest before the dawn right? so to a large world on the brink of war with itself isnt good enough for me i want those knife twisted plot points included but i dont want it to turn into a Suikoden mini game with raging battles....

3- How about a little more CGI in the cut scene. i mean you made the Sacred Ashes trailer and Intro to look so good but the in game cut scenes looked like crap comparitively if your gonna do it please for our sakes do it right make it the higher quality cut scenes and please have more than the 5 second walk in to the landsmeet and the battle at Ostigar i mean really.

4- I want more dialogue to go with the longer story's if this game is supposed to be a bigger game than origins then i want more interaction between the the PC and the NPC's to match. Perhaps get some of the static NPC's to change their conversation choices depending on how far into the game you are....

5- if this is going to be a M for mature rated game i want to see why.... the blood splatter on armor... ehhhh the lack of showing actual deaths like Logain and the soldier who had his neck cut in Origins ---Lets see nothing to suggest a mature audience needed there Lack of nudity in sexual scenes---hmmm yea nothing to get a M for mature rated game... lets see  anything remotely even sensual such as the way Triss marigold gets undressed in the Witcher 2 (goes back to the CGI argument as well) and the answer is a giant NO not here.

so Bioware if you are indeed listening to the players i hope you read this. Oh and I want to see a gameplay trailer by Christmas if possible thanks:lol:

So ive played all the DA games and i would like to see
1. More variety in character selection(Qunari M/F, Golems(stone, metal, lava, etc.), maybe come up with some new types of characters,
2. Better Mage armor, why does it always robes, i mean come on think outside of the box a little.
3. Combination of new and old teammates.
4. Better graphics.
5. Better choice/consequence like in the the Fable saga make it affect: apperance, types of weapons u can use, and types of armor u can use, abilities available to the character.
6. Let us explore the whole globe.
7. Better customization of character background (priest(ess), paladin), and better character setup (height control, i wanna be able to be 10 ft. tall)
8. Maybe a run-in with our previous charaters as we left them in previous games.
9. Keep character animation i like how he actually talked and could hear him like in DA2

1. Mechanics- and systems-driven game design as opposed to follow quest arrow -> cutscene -> win!
2. Characters who are written by someone who has had social contact with a human being before.
3. Return to isometric perspective, tactical combat, and expansive worlds to freely explore.
4. No more overly-scripted, cutscence-heavy crap that inflates the budget by 200% and takes away resources from creating good gameplay.
5. No goddamn romances or "quirky" characters that were obviously presented on a whiteboard to a bunch of focus groups so they could all be designed specifically to appeal to X or Y target audiences.

Basically, just make everyone at BioWare play Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Arcanum, Bloodlines, Ultima, etc. and then... make, like, you know, an actual RPG.

Oh, also, ditch the Dragon Age setting, because it's boring as hell.  Or at the very least, start exploring interesting elements of it instead of more brown castles and brown towns and brown forests and brown caves.  And get some actual art direction that isn't just "we copied Lord of the Rings!"

for involved LI/romances
happy ending, not a ME 3 style ending !!
when creating character's appearance, light background and good lighting so it is easy to see what our character looks like
in cut-scenes, the characters should have the weapons that we are currently using, not like me3 where my shep pulls out a pistol, when my shep is not carrying a pistol at all

How are the Dwarves or Dalish dealing with this conflict? Both are clearly on the outside and it'd be interesting to have companions from those races to see their opinion and points of view? Also, what's going on with the Avvar and Chasind?

A Female Kossith as a companion, because the Qunari are always a fascinating culture to deal with and play off of.

Let the Grey Wardens return in a supporting role, but it should not a major one. The Blight is over, there job is done and their story is finished for now... seriously, can we all just move on?

The appearance of another Mage from the Amell family. It was implied in the second game that Revka, the mother of the Human Mage Warden, is the same cousin of Leandra's who had all of her children taken to the Circle. The fact there might be other Amells out there (and possible siblings of the Warden) is simply to awesome not to explore?! Likewise, if Origins are returned, the chance to play as another Amell would be awesome. If not, at least make them a companion?

While we learnt more about the companion's backstory in the first game, their only function seemed to be to revolve around the Warden. In comparison, the companions in the second game were a dysfunctional family and had lives outside of Hawke, though we didn't learn much about them. More character depth and an outside life would be good, since after all, the companions are the heroes of their own story.

I really liked the idea in DA Origins of being able to select your race and storyline.  I mean c'mon!  Doesn't anyone besides me see it as a step backwards to have less choice in your character selection.  Why are we forced to choose a human as our main character?  Dragon Age competes against games like WOW in which you have 11 races to choose from... DA3 has one 'expletive' race choice?... human!  You guys at Bioware can do better, and you have to.  We have come to expect more out of you and if you want to stay alive in the PC gaming race you better smarten up and produce a game with a plethora of choices.  That's what DA Origins was about and THAT'S what got us hooked and what keeps us coming back!   Choices to make our own unique character!  Not just a human... not just a standard template of companions that have no changeability!... but a world of choices that we make, to shape our experience in that world!  Because that's what other first rate RPG's offer and that's what you'd better offer if you want to live up to the standard of the day!!!

1. Mages stop being demonized. I am sick to flippin' death of the mages getting crap for being mages. "Oh, some god that may not exist says your bad, so you are evil and I hate you, wizard who can create matter by thought! Wait, why am I on fire now?" Mages are the ones with all the power in this equation, they should be the ones calling the shots.

2. Death of Copy-Paste Dungeons. I was willing to let it slide in Origins, it annoyed me to the point I wasn't willing to play DA2 'til now. Can we just put this out to pasture, devs?

3. Alistair isn't a mincing **** I want to kill by carving out his heart with a box cutter. In fact, no annoying, whiny characters PERIOD.

4. Varric. This guy was awesome.

5. A Designated Healer and NPC companions with an IQ greater than that of a hunk of formica. I'm sick of being a mage and having to heal my three beep-booping meat shields. And if you're considering making the healer NPC a chantry cleric, yeah screw that.

5. Bigger in game text. I can barely read that tiny writing

1. Returning characters. I want Bioware to bring some old characters back, but not necessarily as party members; a relevant cameo would be more than enough.
2. A larger variety of environments. Fortunately, the mere fact of stopping reusing them will imply an improvement compared to DAII.
3. Some different talent trees or abilities.
4. A story of epic proportions.
5. More dialogue options, each with its corresponding impact.

Something that I also want to see return in DA3 are difficult choices. There were a lot of these in DA:O en DA:A and virtually non-existing in DA2. A good example of this is the Orzammar quest-line, where you have to choose between a benevolent leader who will hold his people back through tradition and please the nobles or a royal **** who will will bring changes that will bring about a new age of enlightenment for the dwarves, especially the castles and commoners.
