Well...might as well contribute.
1) the more specializations if possible. Having three per class is ok, but I really did like the six or so choices by the time we hit Dragon Age: Awakening. Perhaps make a pool of eight or so specailizations per class, but only have a mix of say 4 of them available per background chosen. I.E, if you are a warrior noble, bring back Champion, make Reaver a default, but throw in say something new like Arbalest or Defender or what have you. Or bring back the elusive Juggernaut . Whereas an Avvar background whose a warrior can be berserker, reaver, ash warrior and so forth. There is a lot of combinations that can be discovered this way, and allow more customization for characters.
While were at it...
2) More class trees per default class. I want to see Warriors get a tree for Crossbows, since Crossbows use strength in Origins to do damage, for example. That can give them long range attacks without being weak if they had a specailization for it. Or maybe throw in an actual Ranger tree for rogues, one that uses trickery and animals to do damage again. Mages can always use more styles of magic, perhaps a more defensive conjuration tree can be utilized where Grease and will o wisp make a return, or we can see an illusion tree that can cloak allies or enrage foes, similar to entropy but less horrific or chaotic. Essentially fatten them out to maybe seven or eight defaults plus the four specializations. I know it's a lot, but considering you already have six trees down a piece (which in my opinion don't need to be changed) adding two more per class to balance things should be ok. As an aside, keep the images and colors for them, I thought they were effective since I am more of a visual learner that way.
3) More minor choices. I know its silly to say, but have little things come back to haunt characters every so often. You did it in both games so far, I just want you to continue that. I mean things like killing Everts marauders only to see Evert hunt you down, or screwing over Merren and having him beat you to a pulp. Those are examples of violent encounters, but throw in some talking ones too.
4) Speaking of talking, give us a few more quests where talking your way out works. Stealing too. The experiment of sneaking in Mark of the Assassin was pretty good, if that is fleshed out more you can make that a whole other venue to solve a problem, especially if you have a rogue do it for you. And if they get caught, then you have to fight alone, but more exp for no kills. Also, add more puzzles while your at it. Thinking on your feet is always a good touch.
5) Keep the continuity solid. If Hawke does come back, make a note of who Hawke romanced, if anyone at all and have them appear as well. If Zevran is alive, let us see him alive instead of a bug happening. If Varric has a piece of the idol, or if Sebastian went back to Starkhaven, let's see it happen. Lastly, don't be afraid to show aspects from Origins in Dragon Age III. Connor for example can be of age by this point and have a role to play in the inquisition, while Bhelen or Harrowmont might be involved if they are king of Orzammar. And, of course, a word from Morrigian to know shes around would be good too.
Anyway those are my demands.
Top 5 things you would like to see in DA3 Inquisition ?

Well...
1) Bring back the our silent protagonist. For a fantasy RPG, I feel its best to have a silent protagonist, especially a customizable one. Sometimes a preset voice can contradict with your perception of how you
think your character would sound. Plus I think its one of those classic
RPG elements that translates well, even to modern gaming. I mean Skyrim
showed you don't need a fully voiced protagonist to have a cinematic
experience, a silent one can just be as engaging. Not eveything needs to be voiced like Mass Effect. Why can't Dragon Age do it's own thing?
2) Bring Dragon Age back to its roots, RTS combat.
3) Dark Spawn as our main Enemies.
4) Story where you choose to become a Warden (I felt kinda left out in DA2)
5) The choice to choose to be different races. Like origins. One of the things I thought made DA2, not feel like a Dragon Age game. You're forced to be human, and to go through one storyline, not much replayablity in my opinon.

in no particular order
1. Returning Origins characters.
2. More Involved romances.
3. Ability to choose my own race or at least my Origin.
4. A combat system that works as well on home consoles as it does on the PC.(hey, I can dream.)
5. New weapon types.

I already posted a long commentary once like 20 pages page but after browsing this thread, two things that I agree with that I really badly want back:
1) Arcane Warriors
2) Dual wielding the way it was in origins

I want my Arcane Warrior specialization back. Okay, it may have to be nerfed a little because it was pretty broken in DA:O but I still want to see it make a comeback.
If it's true that DA:3 will take inspiration from Skyrim then maybe one particular aspect of the Skyrim character creation could find it's way in....a weight slider. I want this so badly. I'm replaying Origins right now and my female character looks like a 15 year old girl with an eating disorder. Her twig arms are sooooo offputting.
and....you know....moar romances, exploration, loot etc.

1. A good story with a good ending. Ok I know we have all been burned on this one. Dragon Age 2 was pure garbage. Mass Effect 3 still holds the number one spot for worst game ending. I want to feel like I am the heroe and this is my tell. Not some railshootere where I am just along for the ride.
2. Better classes: Now I know DAO had some good classes but was forcing you to go down one build only. I would like to see something with hybrid flexablity. Sure, I know I will not be a mage in heavy armor with a two handed sword. Yet I still feel classes need alot of love. If not removed from dragon age 3.
3. Your actions matter. Sence this is an open world like Elder Scrolls. With the story being writen by Bioware. Your actions should matter. If I start throwing sckulls into a lake. I would love for people to walk up to me and ask why I am doing that. I want the world to be alive. Not just npc walking around in circles like Skyrim. I want a living econemy. If I buy a bunch of herbs to craft poison/potions. I would like to see the cost of herbs, poisons and potions go up. Same for like selling weapons to a blacksmith. He will start paying me less for each one. The actions you made from Dragon Age 1 - 2 should also help shape the world of Dragon Age 3. From start to finish your past games should take effect. We know you can do this. You have proven our action mattered in ME3 with the Tuchanka parts. Seeing the story unfold based on your actions in ME2. That was great. Porting in DA 1 - 2 saves should do the same thing.
4. InDept character build. No, I am not talking about the character creation. Yet I do want the DAO character creation to come back. ((including the ability to chose your race. Lets also add more then just human, elf and dward.)) I want to see my character and my compations evolve through out the game base on my actions. I want a more passionate romance. Not something that looks like it was slapped in there just for a teenager to scream "BOOBIES." Come on bioware we are more mature then that.
5. You will hate me for this. I want destructible environment. Sence this game being made on a edited version of the frostbite 2 engine. It would only make sense to have stuff like building blow up when a mage use a powerful spell. Giving us the feeling of why mages are feared. Making mages seem powerful. DAO and DA2 mages where kinda of a joke. Where you ended up dieing more times to an archer or a brute warrior with a two handed mace. Then you did to a mage. With this new engine. I know mages can get the love they deserve.

1. To be be able to choose my background again.
If possible choice of race; Elf, Dwarf, Human, and perhaps even a Kossith (Not a follower of the Qun, maybe a Tal-Vashoth or something)? How cool wouldn't that be?
2. Bigger impact in your story depending on your class, race and background.
If I'm a bloodmage for instance, It would be great if that would be reflected when talking to other people. I could trade secrets with other bloodmages and strike fear into templars and commoners with a display of my power.
If I'm an Elf, allow me to frolic with other elves. You get the gist of it!
3. Unique(er) skills for every specialization.
I would love it if there were more specializations and they were made deeper and more complex so you would have to invest more points in each specialization and eventually you would unlock really devastating powers.
For instance; A bloodmage can use the blood of his companions instead of his own, your companion will be a walking bloodbag to feed your magic. Super cool! Oh.. and summoning demons, anyone? That would be sweet.
I would love to see some of the old specializations again too, Reaver, Ranger, Arcane warrior, Spirit warrior, all of those were great!
4. More customization options!
More faces and junk in the character creation. More diversity when it comes to armor, perhaps even the option to dye or in someway alter your armor. Perhaps you could graft upgrades onto your armors, giving a stat and some visual difference. A skull, some templar prayer beads or a pouch of poisonous herbs.
5. A greater impact from choices.
Lastly, I would love to see a greater impact from our choices in DA:O and DA2 in this latest installment.

1.class specializations that actually cost you to get them, like in DA:O reaver bloodmage etc, not automatically specializing like in DA2
2.More specializations! or more skill trees for that matter, i would love more ways to play each of my characters (including my party members).
3.And of course, more UNIQUE areas to explore, i loved the locations in DA:O especially Orzammar
4.Bring back the approval system, but without the gift mechanic! the friendship rivalry system was different i admit, but i felt it didnt really work out well.
5.the flashy combat animation of DA2 though, a bit too over the top, but i really enjoyed seeing mages with their staves doing normal attacks, much cooler than in DA:O when the standard magic attack was the mage lobing coloured projectiles at the enemy

1. Different endings. By different, I mean more than 2 VERY different endings just like Dragon Age: Origins
2. Consequences of the actions/events etc from the past games. I don't like something that goes like "Oh the Warden? He did that and something something, but it doesn't matter what he did, you are still going to do this."
3. As much as I love DA:O, I find the combat in DA2 way more fun and exciting. But please please fix and or improve camera settings. It is
4. Non-recycled area and a variety of gears that look DIFFERENT from each other. It really doesn't look good if an armor that I just got from an epic boss looks like the starting armor with just a different color.
5. Better and more hairstyle for both sexes and improved character customization. I know everyone has their own taste, but adding more options for hairstyle or customization can vastly improve player happiness. No one wants to create their character and find out later that you look like an extra unclickable npc or henchmen in the game.

1. Powers with DOT effect, and are able to jump over to others ( for example; walking bomb) that are able to jump over to characters in your party if you'r to close (maybe optional or on higher difficulty's)
2. Fatigue like in DAO.
3. A bit more management and public relations when / if the players character is / becomes more and more important. Which have a effect on how people respond to the character. for example, if you decide to ignore those 'tasks' then some options to let people side with your point of view are not available.
4. Just some normal people. Sometimes everyone around the main character feels like they have serious issues, while having a 'normal' party member would be nice to balance it out.
5. Some skills / spells like they are in Titan Quest (+ Immortal Throne expansion). there are some really nice skills and spells in that game (it's old, i know), which must look very nice with today's possibility's, and would fit well in the world of DA. Also new skills and spells are always nice

1. A focus on good good RPG mechanics like less hand holding use Morrowind and Dark Souls as examples ( not talking about the game difficulty in Dark Souls )
2. TONS of speech options
3. Some nice in depth characters ( DA2 did a better job with characters than DA:O I thought but they still need a little bit of work, I'd prefer if the main antagonist's choices weren't influenced by a lightsaber )
4. A mix of DA:O's and DA2's combat systems. DA:O's I felt was a bit slow while DA2's made my thumb hurt up until I got to a really high level

for me
unrestricted weapons and dualwielding for warriors. (with the exception of staffs also true warriors can dual wield two swords if they wished they arnt restricted to just two handers and sword and shield like how it was in origins)
a in depth armor and weapon customization and upgrade system. (similar to me3 but with far more depth to it such as the ability to individualize each piece on your armour or weapon and change its color or style and improve its quality and performance)
race selection in character creation (with varying beginnings just like dao) also have it to were you can create your own custom class.
a story refocused on the grey wardens along with choice consequences and benefits connected to the previous two dragon age storys. (for christ sake dragon age started with the grey wardens it should end with the grey wardens)
multiplayer co-op. (that doesnt affect single player)
these are the things i would like to see in da3

1) A variety of factions to side/assist/"combat" with branching possibilities for that faction's future with each having some stake in... (continue to #2)
2) Orlesian masked ball mega event/mission/quest
3) Recruiting non-companions and forming your own group of sorts in some sort of base location ( a la Crossroads Keep in Neverwinter Nights 2, but with certain recruits exclusive to one another)
4) Cullen as a companion and relatively easily accessed romance for women and absurdly difficult romance for men that requires conditions and conversational finesse that make Sky's (Jade Empire) M/M romance look blatantly advertised.

1.) Returning companions (All of them, they make the story what it is)
2.) More ways to answer/affect choices made from talking to companions or talking to quest NPCs, more romance options and also the option to just remain good friends, maybe even affect how our character turns out
3.) More background stories to choose from
4.) More playable races/custom classes, may be I'm the minority but I liked playing my Dwarf warrior in Origins, did not like only being able to play one main customizable race in DA 2 and being able to play even more races than the normal ones would be awesome and new custom classes should be introduced
5.) More crafting, it would be fun to make your own armor or weapons.

1. Story. DA2's story was such a disappointment to me. I had no idea what the end goal was, even after I achieved it. I did not feel attached or invested in the game. I just played through it. I need to have a primary goal to achieve that influences all of my choices (i.e. defeating the darkspawn).
2. Speaking of the darkspawn, please revert back to the DA:O art style. DA2 darkspawn looked more like sexual predators to me than a scary evil force of kick buttedness.
3. Romance. I did not like the romance in DA2. The one person that held to strong morals was the one person you could not romance. I did not like the fact that everyone was bi. I hated talking to Anders and losing friendship because I didn't want to jump in the sac with him. Make the sexual orientation match the individual's character, not the player desire to get with whoever. It just takes away from the believability.
4. Customization. From more facial feature options (like a full goatee with sideburns) to more weapons and armor. I want to be able to change the appearance of my characters. Have an option, like the show helmet option, that says whether a characters armor shows as the set armor or what they are actually wearing.
5. Multiplayer. This game is ripe for multiplayer. ME3's multiplayer was epic and awesome. I like the fact that it can help with the main storyline. However, if you are going to do that, make sure that it actually matters. In ME3, I had so much support that it didn't matter what my readiness was. But, I like that concept. Continue to include missions in single player to boost that for the players that cannot or do not want to play multiplayer.
There are always more ideas, but these are the top five I can think of. I don't have to mention the whole one city thing, because I think Bioware is aware of what a huge mistake that was. Regardless, thanks, Bioware, for the AMAZING series of games. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite developers.

.not DA2
.much better charictor custumisation

Now let's try and be as honest as i can with this one, and hope that it gets read.
After replaying BG 1, TSC, 2 and TOB again i will use that as my basis. As it is evident that those are the games that get hailed as the best RPG's of all time, and for good reason.
One of the most major failings of DA is its story line... it's inconsistant! We can see you're attempting to do a story arc, but, we are just jumping between main characters, places and events 'willynilly', it doesn't hold the gravitas that it's predesessors have.
The second largest failing is your combat system of DA2. I no longer felt like a tactician but a lawn mower of monsters. I'm not playing Diablo am I!?
So, how can you improve on this?
Here are my 5 points:
1) - Refine that combat system! Get it back to DA:O style and give it a greater scope of 'things that can happen'. So, more spells, more skills, more spell/skill combos. More debuffs?! Why not, it adds a challenge.
2) - Get a main character and stick with them! If that character seems to be getting Overpowered, make the monsters more overpowered... you managed it with BG:TOB so you can do it again here. Oh and DO NOT give the main character a voice. That's our job. We fall in love with a character more if we believe it is us.
3) - More dialogue choices! And keep the ambiguity, it's our fault if we pick the 'wrong' dialogue response. Dialogue choices can be varied but don't neccasarily have to send us down completely different dialogue paths, we won't notice.
4) - Vilains! Make a vilain and let's learn about them through the story. A vilain we eventually learn to love and sympathise with, but have no choice in killing (Irenicus and even Seravok to some extent). Oh, and learn to kill off characters :/ we are not all americans, we can accept when a 'main' character dies... we are all mortal in the end.
5) - More items. More item statistics/buffs (loved having to throw around weapons and items during a battle if you see danger coming someones way).
I hope this gets some degree of recognition. But DA3 is hanging by loose threads on my 'want to play list'. I don't think i can handle another disapointment like DA2... but i did love the characters in DA2, that's about it though :/
Much love.

1. DA2 style ability trees, but with more options available. Warriors and Rogues shouldn't have completely exclusive weapon choices (or mages for that matter).
2. NPCs that are straight, gay, and bisexual. Everyone being the same is really boring.
3. Completely different weapon/armor system than either DA:O or DA2. I felt like the weapon quality upgrades in Origins were a lame way to scale equipment for higher levels, while the abundance of unnamed accessories in 2 was silly. Upgrade equipment in meaningful ways, and don't be afraid to give items unique effects.
4. No dialogue wheel. Dividing responses into separate categories is unnecesarily restrictive. I don't give a crap if the main character is voiced or not, but I want to know exactly what they're saying before I select a response.
5. Everyone hates me for this, but I LOVE the idea of companion armor. It makes it easier to give NPCs unique body types, and makes it so that I don't have to keep track of every freaking character's boots, chestpiece, helmet, and gloves (on top of their weapon, off-hand, amulet, ring1, ring2, and belt. Otherwise there's way too much equipment to manage, only encouraging me to use a select few companions.

Hmmm...
1. Open world, or at least more open than just Kirkwall (or whatever city it is). Sometimes you just want to get away from it all, you know? Seriously, it gets boring to be mostly in the same place. And vary the maps. The maps were very similar, even for a chronically spatially challenged person like myself.
2. More involved story...I felt DA2 was basically about politics. That's not very engrossing. I felt much more tension/importance in what was going on in DAO because it was seriously, physically threatening both me and everyone else, and I had a chance (no matter how small) to stop it. There were some real dilemmas in DAO (how about the Morrigan-Alistair thing?) that mattered and had consequences, but not in DA2, that I can remember, anyway.
3. Fix the combat. DAO was a little slow in some ways but it was fine. DA2 was ridiculous. I felt it was a little obnoxious, actually. Like anime gone wild. Actually immersion-breaking. I like to play as a rogue and all the disappearing and reappearing behind people and flipping etc. was making me a little bit dizzy. It's just not very realistic. I think some medium ground needs to be reached here.
4. I seem to be in the minority, but I do like the voiced protagonist (if it's done well - see FemShep - because if it's done badly it is game-breaking and you'd be better off with a silent player like DAO). The wheel was ok, I guess. I'm not attached to the icons though, and there were times that I think the paraphrasing was not reflective of what was said. Also, I think the dominant personality system needs to go away. It keeps you from being "you" if you get my drift.
5. The companions. They need to be deeper characters. I felt that one reason we could not talk to them in the same depth as we did in DAO was that they really didn't have anything to say...time wasn't spent developing them to that extent, perhaps. Varric was interesting, but the majority of the companions in DA2 were not. I really don't care if they appear in DA3. I was more interested in my DAO companions.
...and I know it says "five things" but just look at this one as a subset of #5...
5a. Romances. Please keep in mind that there are lots of straight female players out there and we would like at least a bit of choice in heterosexual romance options. I felt that FemShep was particularly robbed in this regard if you didn't import a prior game or imported a prior game in which you didn't romance anyone, thus were left with the choice of Kaidan or..Kaidan. Which is fine, but takes away yet another reason to replay (besides the most obvious one which isn't to be addressed here). Also, the DAO and DA2 romance scenes were really not very "romantic" - I've seen more skin on network TV. The game is rated M and we should all be old enough to deal with a little more than kissing. I don't mean that an "implied sex scene" should be there just because the game is rated M, or that the scene should be extremely explicit, but that it could go a bit further and flow more naturally from dialogue and situation. Also, there should be other dialogue scattered through the game as the relationship develops, either between you and the LI or amongst the party, that acknowledges the status of your relationship, because it's not just about the "scene," it's about the relationship, which impacts your entire life, not just your bedroom.
and finally...
I was much more attached to my Warden than my Hawke, and I think it was due to the more involving story and companions in DAO, being part of a more real, larger world with interesting and diverse companions trying to oppose a significant and dangerous enemy. Those are the most important components of a successful story.

1- Npc reactions. Example;
Player is specced Templar, fights a mage using Templar abilities; in reaction, an npc or a companion asks the player where the hell he/she learned to neutralize magic, or stand in awe of this ability, comment on it etc.
2- Characters from old games, like Morrigan, the Warden, Hawke, Flemeth, Varric etc.
3- Combat being more like DA:O, not DA 2.
4- A well-written story with the least plot holes possible; also, our choices having real impact on it. No, slightly changed cinematics doesn't count as impact.
5- MOAR OGHREN.

1. Returning characters from DA;O, Awakening and DA2 (especially Morrigan, Alistair, Leliana, Nathaniel, Isabela, Merrill, Zevran etc. Goes without saying Hawke and The Warden should be in it.)
2. Much bigger world than what we had in DA2
3. Choices from the previous games having consequences in the storyline.
4. Good gameplay mechanics.
5. And of course a good plot and deep characters and romances with lots of interesting backstory. Lots of interaction with companions is good.
