2) Enemies not popping from thin air in waves.
3) Maps that are wider and you have more than one route to go on instead of narrow path
4) Even just slightly animated heads, like you fight for your life and your hair stays on same cut all the time, eh?
5) More varied items

I agree with what you have said.
1. I want to see returning characters. I love Alistair LOL like you have no idea how much I really enjoyed his personality in DAO. Of course Morrigon. But with Alistair, ah well...I want to keep romancing haha
2. DA2 was so...Blah to me. The characters were so mundane. I really didn't come to love them and aprreciate them as much as DAO. DAO made it so much fun to talk to them in camp (please bring that back in some way) and get to know them. I want to deepen my relationship with them in the game like DAO with the gifts and my conversations.
3. I want to see how my saves will be imported into the DA3 and how they affect the story line in this game. I REALLY MISS having that feeling of "This character is me" and not someone that's already played out. If that makes any sense? For example, DAO MADE me feel like I was the Grey Warden. I was immersed into the position. I owned it! haha It fel like I WAS the character. DA2 made me feel like I was "acting the role" rather than "being the role"
4. More customization. ( DA2 was terrible with that in my optinoin. I wish there was cooler looking armour and outfits. One thing that really attracts me to RPGs in the customization of armour and I really didn't enjoy having my character SPEAK. I want to imagine myself speaking. Imaginig I AM the character as I mentioned earlier. The character speaking for me just made me feel like I wasn't playing anyone other than a character that had nothing to do with me. If that makes any sense? It took away from the personal attachment I had with that character. I wasn't the character. I stress that a lot. That really turned me off. I HATE THAT I CAN'T EQUIP MY PARTY MEMBERS WITH THE ARMOUR/WEAPONS I WANT. Ugh....I want my party to look the I want it to. Am I being picky? But I really want to see aspects of DAO to be in DA3. Dragon Age 2 was kind of..."an emarassment" to DAO.
5. I HATE THE LAYOUT OF MY INVENTORY/TALENTS or what ever you want to call the. The talent tree was okay (where you can choose shield bash or healing magic, etc). I'm not complaining about that. But looking at my inventory was such a pain in my ass. I couldn't see a preivew of what I was collecting. DAO it had a little icon next to it. The journal was ugh...terribly laid out. WHY DO YOU TRY TO "FIT IN" with the rest of RPGs in that layout. I want DAO kind of layout better (is layout the right word?). The screen was black and the annoying color scheme was just...blah. Can you tell I was diappointed in DA2?
Overall, I LOVED DAO. I played that so many times because it had great replay value and I felt like each playthrough I could really change the game each time. I liked experiementing with different decisions (should I be the good guy or the bad guy?). That kind of thing.DA2 felt like a completely different game and disjointed from the 1st one. I really wish Bioware would go back to the style of DAO. I am so so frustrated with DA2 that I am really really hoping tha DA3 will GREATLY improve. After playing DAO, everything in comparison was meh. I know a lot of people like Skyrim (which of course is their competition) but Skyrim was BORING. Yes I said it. The same freaking cave looking thing (such as DA2 did....why don't you change it up???). The quests in DA2 were annoying because I had to travel all over Kirkwall. What a terrible city...ugh! lol But there are of course really good components of Skyrim that Bioware should take not of. For example, I can forge my own armor! The music is awesome! I could keep writing and keep writing about this subject. If anyone would like to comment on my post and let me know if maybe my desires are...well "silly" please do so! I guess I am passionate about this subject.
Also, I am not the only one (from personal contacts that I know like friends, classmates, etc) that feels that DA2 was bery boring and mundane and it was nothing special. It was a great diappointment.
Please excuse any bad grammar or spelling errors. I wrote what was on my mind and I felt that worrying about those things would ruing my "flow of thoughts" lol
I'M EXCITED FOR DA3. Take care!
Bioware just take him as a part of the team,PLEASE ! + More companions like in DAO . Not empty shells like in DA 2

2. Less extremes, more grey areas and characters. I didn't like Templars vs Mages because I would side Mage every time, they weren't ****s like the templars but they were so bloody stupid. I don't want that either. So thats 3. "Hey those guys think we do blood magic, we don't, we're innocent!" "I know, how about we fight back... with BLOOD MAGIC! They'll never expect it!"
4. Hard and meaningful choices. I want to have to think and agonize and face the consequences.
5. Warriors and Rogues that can do something. Mages have been unbalanced in both games so far and in reality they would wipe the floor with templars if they weren't retarded. Warrior are alright as shields but not that great at damage, and never really did anything but pick locks and disarm traps for me, except do pitiful damage with a bow.

2. Ending which doesn´t make people go berserk for years.
3. See my Dalish rogue and Mage with bad attitude. And ofc all the companions from both games.
4. Fenris´ sword is only anime- related thing.
5. Dragons.
6. Fleeee la lalal allallalalaa meeet...
7. Character customization. Improved. I wanna spend , instead hour, several hours just fixing up meh face
8. Dialogue. I just love listening what my companions are "discussing".
9. Choices what you´ve made really matters.

1) Skill Upgrades, Taking A Basic Skill And Choosing An Upgrade Path To Make It Unique, Leaving Several Different Versions Of The Same Skill.
2) I Want Customizable Armor And Weapons. I Want To Be Able to Take A Basic Sword Choose How It Looks, It's Buffs And Upgrades. I Also Want To be Able to Be Able To Change The Color And Even Emblems On The Armor.
3) I Want MOre Elaborate Battles. I Loved At The End Of DAO And Even DA2 The Final Battle Where depending On What NPCs You Helped You Saw Them Fighting Alongside You. I Would Love To See More Of That. Also I Would Love to See More Tactical Variety Depending On If The PC Or A Companion Was In Charge During The Battles.
4) I Want To See Smarter AI In Companions Without A Need To Micro Mange Them So Much.
5)More Stat Related Skills In The Environment. Strength Should Allow You To Force Locks And Break Down Doors. Mages Should Be Able To Materialize A Key From The Fade Depending On Their Magic And Dependent On Their Will It Should Break In The Locks. I Want To See Mages Able to Materialize Weapons From the Fade As Well. Or A Rouge Able To Detect An Enemy Behind A Wall And Using Their Dex Able To Dead Angle Shoot The Or Throw Knives At the From Around A Corner.
6) More Story And More Locations.
7) Have Race Affect Gameplay. Like Race Specific Skills.
Those Would Be The Major Ones I Would Love to See.

2. Interacting with your characters whenever you want. This was awesome in DA:0, and I still loved the interaction in DA:II, but I would like to see more 'bonding' whether it be friend-wise, or romance-wise.
3. This might go with number 2, but I'd like to see more group bonding and party banter. I love it when the companions actually talk to each other than Hawke or the Warden. In my opinion it felt
like the companions weren't really friends with each other, more like... they were hired to work together. I'd like to see more of that, and clashing personalities if it calls for it.
4. I don't mind having just been Hawke in DA:II, but for DA:III I would like the ability to play different backgrounds. Regardless of this new character's race if you choose to make multi-playable races.
5. Finally, (Mage Pants. I cannot play a male mage in a robe. I just can't.) things from DA:0 and DA:II affecting the game in more ways, like with the Mass Effect trilogy. That was awesome. And, like in Mass Effect, more decisions that actually have different or important impacts on the game, further customizing your game play experience with a certain character.
(Also, I would like the choice of longer hair on female characters.)

2. More conversations and if it's possible not only before or after something important.
3. Choices that matter.
4. Environments and customization (different races too).
5. My warden and my Hawke back? Well... I don't know which can be the 5th, but I want to see my warden and my Hawke, even if it's momentarily.
The type of combat doesn't matters for me, if it's more like DA:O fine, if it's more like DA2 fine too... if it's with guns, fine too (I'm joking with the last one).
Also, could be cool if various companions come back.

2. A good story with a lot of morally grey characters (not lol all mages are blood mages like DA2)
3. My choices actually having an impact on the ending like DA:O
4. A good variety of recruitable NPC's
5. Ties in with 2 but after ME3 I have to say I want a satisfying ending for DA:I right off the bat
That would be all

Tactics, but also, don't aim for the lowest common denominator the way DA 2 did. The original Dragon Age was designed with the PC in mind, and then consoles came into the picture well into the development cycle. What we got was a game where people could make choices, the Origin Story not only set the stage for a different starting introduction, but it played a part in how the character was looked at by others in the game. DA 2 took that idea and threw it out for the most part. Choices meant very little overall, and it really made me at least not bother playing much beyond my first playthrough.
Have I said how disgusted I am that every game has to be aimed at the 13-17 year old in mind? I don't expect sex and nudity all over the place, but at the same time, many players are a bit older, and bored with how sanitized games have become. Again, look at The Witcher 2 for a good example of a game written for adults, and a M for Mature implies that players are old enough to be beyond PG-13 movie content.
Character development and interactions between NPCs should develop as the game progresses, and there SHOULD be more to it than just idle comments that party members throw around. This SHOULD apply to all those side-quests as well, where having a positive/negative rating with each NPC isn't enough. They should view what choices the main character has made, and have some real development done as a result. I am NOT talking about one or two special quests FOR the NPC in question, but more about "You let them kill this group here, but another quest you actually stepped in", and deal with the particulars.
Roleplaying should be given some real consideration. Are you playing as the character, rather than just playing as the player? Why not limit options based on how you have developed the character? If you have been playing someone as being really selfish from the beginning, being charitable just because one quest gives bonus rewards for being charitable should NOT be allowed. Track the "alignment" as played from the start of the game, and keep players within a certain range of where they are. If they start as someone noble and then have the character drift toward greed and being abusive toward others, that is fine, but the shift won't be and shouldn't be sudden. It also opens the door for a lot of replayability if that is taken into account. Be good and have events "screw over" the character can affect future interactions if you want them to, or act like a sadistic pig, and watch how there is punishment for it.
Keep in mind, events like school shootings and how games influence players could be traced back in SMALL part to there being no negative side effects for anti-social behaviors. If every game made it where running around killing innocent people resulted in so much negative attention the game would end quickly with the player character being killed, less balanced PLAYERS might learn that it is never a good idea to be a homicidal maniac.

2. No recycled maps (as has already been voiced many times in this thread).
3. Our past decisions mean something. But BioWare should focus on only the biggest decisions of the last 2 games, e.g who rules Ferelden, who rules Orzammar. By ignoring fluff like whether or not someone's cat was rescued by Hawke and focussing on the bigger issues, there might be bigger consequences for few things rather than smaller consequences for many things.
4. Better, more developed sidemissions. Nothing too big but better than 'deliver 10 mushrooms to person x'.
5. Keep things morally grey. Dragon Age is already pretty good at this unlike Mass Effect 3. Keep it up.

2.More interaction with my companions. I want them to have a more detailed background and dialogue. Make us get attached to our companions like in Origins with Alistair.
3.To explore more. More places to go that don't look exactly the same.
4.Greater customization. More weapon and armor choices.
5.A more detailed story. I want to get enthralled in the game. Make our decisions from the first two games have an impact on the third one.

1. No flying, crazy boss battles or "anime-like" combat.
2. More varied environments and more interesting architecture. I like how the distinction between areas and the architecture was in DA2, it's just that we saw too much of the same things.
3. No Sebastian or, even better, the option to kill the self righteous bastard (I side with mages, he throws another fit and I put him down is one way to make my wish come true *wink, wink*).
4. Not having ONLY the mage vs templar conflict, what made DA:O good was that there was so many things of the DA setting we got to know. Dwarven politics, the dalish and that particular clan's struggle with the werewolves, the possession of Connor and all that it caused as well as the major conflict with the darkspawn. DA2 lacked this variety and got boring after we had seen too many possessions and templars with a fondness of abusing mages.
5. Choices that don't just go "either you do this or you do that" but instead have several outcomes and options, for example: The coronation in DA:O, either Alistair or Anora or both or Alistair and fem human warden etc. I also like this particular part since what you have chosen up until that affects your options so much.

1. Return of my beloved warden and all the great cast of characters from Dargon Age Origins ( especially Morrigan ) - i would love to see the camp back whit all the talking possibilitys included as well as banter betwen characters like in Dragon Age 2.
2. Deep interesting and branching story. Much like in DAO. I absolutely loved the story. It was rich and very very well told. I remember how much i loved digging and searching for more information in the game. But i wouldn't mind the time progression that was introduced in Dragon Age 2 as well.
3. Less awesome button mashing - more tactical decisions like in DAO. Large and diverse locations - like in DAO. Where every location was much different then the previous one - whit it's own stroy towns and npc's and monsters - also the epic fun of hunting hidden monsters and treasures ( for example fighting this five hidden monsters across the world will allow you to go to position X and fight this final transformation of that monster ( like in DAO )).
4. Diverse ending. Not just different color ending. I'm talking much different outcome based on your decisions over the coarse of the journey. As well as ending like in DA: Awakening where your decisions and there outcome is mentioned briefly and how they affected the world.
5. Larger zones and even more locations to visit. Also better organized inventory and the possibility to choice each pice of gear your party wear. I absolutely hated the party inventory and how gear was handled for your party. Wouldnt mind return of companion inventory interface from DA:O
But most of all - give me back my Gray Warden and my beloved Morrigan.

3. Better character customization with more races etc...
4. Return of old characters aka: Morrigan with child, Wardens and NO HAWK...
5. If you really want to do a multiplayer PLEASE let it have no impact on the singelplayer like in ME3. That was total crap.
6. Make a good PC port.
7. Less hack n Slay combat and more RPG.
8. No fkin Story DLC on Day 1.

Better companions. Some of the companions in DA2 seemed polarized and somewhat unnatural.

2. Varied, distant endings, a-la DA:O. It's still the most satisfying conclusion of any game I've ever played.
3. Multiplayer, a-la ME3. Can you imagine? Utterly brilliant.
4. Strong romance options with lots of relationship-specific dialogue.
5. A huge world with a variety of play-style options. Non-linear play, I guess.
Can't wait, BioWare! You're the reason I'm pre-ordering the next Xbox!

2) Simple, possibly tile-based toolset. The DA:O toolset was powerful, but stupidly difficult to use. I'd like something even easier than the NWN toolset. Give us a Blizzard RTS style trigger editor. I don't want to have to re-learn Java.
3) Variety in enemy roles and encounters.
