I get your point Huntress, im just worried that the characters seem to be focused on too much sexual liberation.
Must half of the party want to have sex with you?
Must half the party be bisexual etc?

If they write a great character and he/she is bisexual, fine. But I suspect Bioware write a character that HAVE to be gay/bi from now on.
Its getting a bit too much.
I have no problem with gay people my mother and sisters know many gay men, so im def not homophobic.

Why are you worried if a character of a game have no restrains of their sexualities? what is it that bothers you so much about that?
fictitious character are sexually harrasing you? how so?
if i remember correctly is the main character of a game who start relationships not the other way around. And you're fictional character share a night with a fictional character-companion... big deal.

In Thedas everyone worry about 3 things right now, Rogue templars, demons and blood-mages. as you can see nobody give a rat of who slept with who, that only happens when our news reporters have nothing informative/productive to do.

Bioware writers do try to please many people is true, some of them want to see this types of character, it doesn't bother me a bit,  I don't see this fictitious characters as a threat.

1. I'd like some more exploration of the Man and Fade Spirit relationships, along the lines of Anders and Cole.
2. The ability to use any weapon with any class.
3. I'd like some more political intrigue that we've got glimpses of throughout DAO and DA2.
4.I'd take a page from Human Revolution and the Walking Dead when looking a the dialouge system, which I found to be a nice middle ground between the system in DAO and DA2
5. The ability to kill Justice a third time. Because the third time's the charm.

I'm very late on this question (and who knows I may have answered weeks ago) but here goes:

1. A Great Story. And Great Writing. I don't care about camera angles or waves of villians, I care about plot, story, content, drama. Give me dialogue, give me fantatic love scenes, give me great back stories.

2. Male love interests who are relatively sane and normal guys (DA:2's choices were the PTSD guy gone Terrorist and the PTSD guy gone Angry, Angry Elf Guy). They can have conflicts - but please can they at least not need psychotropic drugs to function? Or bombs?

3. Morrigan's Hair. I want hairstyles for women to be as pretty as Morrigan's hair was. The last set was simply awful. Better hair for females.

4. Better loot. No more torn trousers. Period. Ever.

5. Improved Tactics. I love tactics. I love being able to set up how I want my companions to fight in a given situation. Please, more tactics, better tactics.

Other's have already pretty much covered what I'd like to say, so:

Bathedor wrote...

2. Choices with BIGGER consequences - example being Witcher 2, which takes the game in boldly different directions depending on choices, and aren't just microscopic changes in the greater sea of the story. Have choices that take us to different locations, meet different characters and effect our relationships with known characters even more.

3. Return to Isometric camera gameplay/tactics - The tactics needs to play a bigger role, I want to be able to bring the camera back to observe the battlefield and plan things out. Also I'd rather the animations weren't over the top such as Enemies exploding just by the strike of a sword, the kill animations in Origins were realistic enough without being too stupid. This leads onto my next point aswell...

4. NO MORE ENEMY WAVES - it completely throws planning out the window and just makes battles a bum rush of killing trash mobs as fast as possible. As suggested before beef up enemies a bit more and have more variants to encourage examination/experimentation of tactics.

5.

Get rid of
all the ridiculous junk items - five rings named "Ring" with
near-identical stats is silly. Look to the classics like the Baldur's
Gate series to see how it's done. A powerful item should stay powerful
for at least a major portion of the game.

I'm pretty damn lore crazy,
and I loved the descriptions of weapons and armour in Dragon Age:
Origins, both of legendary weapons and your average steel sword. I
missed this in Dragon Age 2. :(
So I would like to see it back in Dragon Age 3.

6. Make cities and towns...feel alive, if that makes sense.
Kirkwall
was beautiful, but oh so empty. I was looking forward to people walking
around, hearing snippets of conversation (Okay, we already had some of
those.) and random encounters. (that don't involve slaying 100s of
mooks.) I know BioWare can do it, the Citadel felt plenty alive.
Especially in Mass Effect 3.

1. Choices that have an impact on how the game progresses and ends (more than one ending)
2. Stealth like in DA1
3. Picking up on clues and acting upon them-e.g. finding Orsino's note in Quentin's lair should have arroused suspicion and come out in later dialogs with Orsino and Meredith
4. Improvement in dialog so the character can get across what he or she actually means
5. Ability to save game at any point the player wants-enabling player to view cut scenes again without a lengthy combat and experiment with different combat approaches and game choices

I'd like to see the codex come alive. I was reading thru some the other day. Mainly, the descriptions of certain places. I'd like the visuals in game to match up w/the codex---as much as possible. And maybe even surpass the codex descriptions.

I read the DarkTown and Sewers descriptions in the DA2 codex. It sounded great. Oppressive. Ominous. Filthy. Poisonous. In the game, however, I never got that feeling abt the places.

Just like with the Alienage. From even in game descriptions, it sounded one way, but what I saw in game didn't come anywhere near that.

So, yeah. If a place is supposed to have...glittering fountains and statues and architecture..let me See that. It would delight me greatly.

And vice versa. If it is supposed to be a filthy, crime ridden...scary place, let me see that, too.

It helps me to feel it. I want to feel awe at some places. Just as I also want to feel uneasy in other places. Sound effects can help, too. Maybe some weird, ominous whispering in the background. Darting shadows here and there.

I've been wanting to hear Val Royeux since Leli described how there was music everywhere. And color. And strange fashions.

I'd like minor NPC's to "notice" my character when I visit someplace. Whether it's in a...condescending "you don't belong here" kinda way. A hero worship kinda way. Or, even a predatory kinda way. Just by the way the move around my PC. Look at the PC as you pass. That kinda thing.

Oh, last thing. I'd like to have a scholar on hand. I'd like to see Bro. Genitivi. Geez, that guy. Lol. Such a brave soul w/ such enthusiasm for the acquisition of knowledge.

He was getting kinda up there, tho. Idk if he's still around.

Maybe Dagna? She seemed quite learned at 19. I bet at 29/30..wow. Either way, I would like to have a scholar around to consult with periodically. Maybe one that stays at the castle?

And...I would like to have a Dance w/the Dowager be a minigame. lol! Where I have to know the steps and timing just so in order to earn her favor.

Otherwise, she scoffs at me and leaves me on the dance floor. (Maker forbid I step on her feet!)

1. I'd like random npc's to act more alive. Kirkwall had a decent population out on the streets, but Hawke seemed to be the only one going anywhere or doing anything. If you're in a part of a town that's supposed to be dangerous, let us see it.

Let us see someone getting mugged while we're walking and have the ability to stop it or ignore it. Have some random pickpocket run by us and take some coin, forcing us to chase him down. Bring the environments to life a bit.

2. Bring back some old characters. While Bioware occasionally drops the ball in some areas, one area they're usually very consistent in is creating well-rounded characters that fans end up really liking. I know for a fact that I'd hate it if we didn't see Varric in DA3. Probably just as much as I hated not seeing Sten pop up for even a moment in DA2. (Though, with what happened with the Qunari in act 2, that was probably for the best.)

3. Tone down combat a little bit. A lot of the sword/hammer combat in DA2 just looked silly. Especially with two-handed weapons. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm pretty sure you should not be able to jump around like that while swinging a greatsword or a maul.

4. Give us some choice in our origin. Hawke was pretty cool, but it was pretty boring that we only had the option of being a human that was fleeing Lothering during the blight. I'm sure Bioware could have thought of a few more ways for someone from Ferelden to end up in Kirkwall, whether they be a human, dwarf, or elf.

Honestly, I don't even care if we can't choose our race, but at least let us choose history. Part of the fun in DAO was replaying the game just to see how different quests and conversations played out depending on who you were and where you were from.

5. MORE ENVIRONMENTS. I can not stress this one enough. It was pretty tedious going through caves that, somehow, looked exactly like every other cave.

1. No Multiplayer. None. Zero. Nil. Zilch. Please NOOOOO Multiplayer. Spend the money that you would otherwise have spent on multiplayer instead on improving the campaign.

2. A better ending. The endings of both DA2 and ME3 were sub par, to say the least, as well as the very rushed and awkward, plot hole laden Act 3 of DA2. Please make the ending of DA3 better than your recent finishes. Give us more variety in the possible endings, and if we do things very well, give us a happy ending. If we do poorly, give us a sad ending, or outright failure. Give us a reason to play the game through multiple times to the end, please.

3. Make the combat less cartoonish. In DA2, people did crap that you would see in the Matrix. Exploding bodies with your swords is... no. Just no. Nobody sould be swinging a claymore around in one hand like its a twig. Heavy weapons need to look heavy, but remember that while they would take more effort to swing, its not as dramatically slow like it was in DA:O.

4. Find a real balance between Rogues, Mages and Warriors, and their different specializations.

In DA:O, sword and shield Warriors felt weak, and 2-handers felt very weak while dual-wielding warriors and rogue rolled face. Archery was super weak until you got your high level abilities, and mages were either way too powerful or useless, depending on which spells you took.

Make every kind of specialization powerful, but don't make any of them overly powerful.

5. Companions need to be improved. I mean the actual characters themselves as well as their uses to the player. For one, it would be nice to have more than one companion who CAN function as a healer. I hated Anders in DA2, but I had to bring him with me all the time because I needed a healer.

Make companions more likeable and less stupid as people. As far as romantic partners, I think 4 to 6 would work. Just... try to make them more interesting. They were all just really dumb people who made bad decisions in DA2. They don't need to be flawless, by any means. Just make them be less stupid.

1. A good protagonist. I want the Warden to be in the game, but I know there's a big chance they won't be a large role and that's okay. I tried to like Hawke, but the role he played always felt more like a bystander who gets goaded into doing filler quests, while other characters are the ones to advance the story.
2. Decisions that matter[ed]. The impact of importing into DA2 was probably one of the most disappointing aspects of the game. Kirkwall/DA2 is mostly the same no matter what the Warden did; what about the rest of the world? Lots of questions arose with Origins and DA2, and they do not need to be reminded, they need to be addressed. A new story should be interesting, but should build on the foundation, not start a new one.
3. Environments. DA2 was pitiful, and Bioware should know they can't get away with it again.
4. Romance. DA2's free-for-all was bad. Mass Effect 3 took a much better approach to romance.
5. Conversation. I miss the conversation options of Origins, which were almost as fun as the game itself. I know the wheel is easier and probably a lock to reappear, but can we at least get rid of the icons? The flirty heart icon is insulting to me. Also would like conversation choices to affect the story, for example, having enough intimidation or cunning to avoid a battle and convince a person to give you what you need without them dying.

I 2nd everything you just said I would love to find out what happen to morgan's child.

I can't remember if I've commented on this thread before, but here goes...

1. Cats. Especially pet cats that you can interact with like the Mabari.

2. Funny cutscenes and mini-games with dialogue (like playing cards with Isabela, Varric and Anders in the Hanged Man, or seeing your Hawke fall over drunk and get dragged home after hitting the bar too many times).

3. Pretty outdoors settings. Kirkwall was downright stifling, and the Wounded Coast wasn't exactly refreshing. I felt dramatically happier playing MotA because ... blue skies!

4. Tevinter. Don't care how, why or how much. I just want to see it!

5. DLCs that expand the stories of the main characters, especially LIs.

Since I know the DA writers will come up with a great storyline without me having to tell them.  Here are a few things that would make the game perfect (for me anyway).  I also know that I won't be seeing either number 1 or 2, but is there anything wrong with a little hopeful wishing?

1. Tevinter
2. The Anderfels
3. Great companion banter (I think that's what I love most about both DA O and DA II)
4.  Romance (sigh)
5. New companions--I love all of the character the DA BioWare team has introduced through the years  (especially Alistair)  and I can't wait to meet the new batch.

1. A chance to address the Nevarran's attempted genocide of dragons, and question like Shepard did in Mass Effect. Also, DO NOT make the dragons the evil force that's the main drive of the series. They were always monsters in the background; let it stay that way. They've had enough links to demonic cults as it is.
2. Good characters. Reduce the amount of tasks you do for your companions, and resolve their sub plots PROPERLY, not like they did with Merrill. I hate Merrill because of that.
3. Ability for companions to wear armour, and therefore become basically as powerful as you can be. Almost.
4. Enough random monsters popping out of the ground behind you to mow down your mage/rogue before you can really do anything.
5. DO NOT STUFF UP THE ENDING. Since I don't even know what the whole driving force behind the plot is besides the mage/templar war, I have a feeling I won't be getting DA3, since they'll just make dragons evil. Seriously, hasn't this happened enough? So much for respecting all the races.

I would like to see some things from Dragon Age: Origins to be brought back, namely:

1. Combat. I did not like the combat of DA2, it felt like I was a god trampling on my peons. I like the ability to form nice tactical moves, switching from one person (and view of the battlefield) to the next gave me a sense of accomplishment or that spirit to retry a particular area to try and best my enemy. The combat speed and ridiculousness of enemies exploded in DA2 disappointed me greatly, I didn't even have to look at the screen to win.
2. Better choices for class and race. I want to be able to pick my race and name, it gives me a sense of immersion that nothing else can (*points to eldar scrolls*). I would like for all classes to be able to use any weapon regardless of states or weapon use. A solider should be able to use a staff, just not nearly effectively as a mage. A mage should be able to use a bow, even if they can't hit anything with it. For me, immersion and rpgness is more important than following the "usuall" business that these games normally go for.
3. Please don't copy pasta the dungeons. This really annoyed me with DA2, was that no matter what dungeon I saw after and hour of gameplay, it was all the damn same. All the textures were the same, and I understand the EA (*cough* **** *cough*) kind of pushed this one but still. Hopefully EA (*cough* won't happen *cough*) will see the error of their ways.
4. More interaction with any character. Interaction will all characters is probably impossible, but adding good interaction with most, even super minor characters, would just add to the feel that this guy is me.
5. Just don't do almost anything you did in DA2, I wouldn't even care if you copied DA:O with a new story, would be so many times better.

Good day.

1) To be able to talk to my companions (at a party camp kind of place) about whatever interests them like in DA:O. I want to be able to hear stories or a song, Crack silly jokes and learn about there past and motivations.
2) I want some choices that change outcomes of things other than the main plot line. Say I have a side quest where I can choose to help someone or hinder them solely on how they have acted towards me. I think this really helps world development.
3) Defiantly want some quests that are not just the simple go here cut your way through bad guys. Thedas is brilliant and filled with places that have a lot of politics and underhanded tactics. I would really like a few quests that explore these areas.
4) Have some characters that aren't your companions that you associate with a lot and can give you advice. I like the idea of having someone you cant control to talk to like Bodahn but someone with stronger opinions.
5) I want serious companions back that have more than 2 moods angry and depressed. To many DA2 companions got on my nerves solely because they were so one sided most of the time. Im not saying DA:O didn't have its one sided people but they just annoyed me a whole lot less because they were able to do more than complain.

More control over the game's difficulty settings via a custom difficulty setting. The following is one simple proposal.

You have 4 parameters with 3 levels each. The Parameters are XP, Gold, Encounter Size, Monster Power. I think those are fairly common and self explanatory. The parameter levels are Less, Normal, and More.

That gives 4^3 = 64 choices in difficulty settings and the boundaries are easily calculable. Could go with 4 parameter levels, or more, to match how many preset difficulty settings the game has and to keep everything within the same bounds.

Also, a Friendly Fire checkbox would be appreciated. My last play through in DAO was on easy mode because I wanted to use spells that I never use because they have a tendency to blow up the party. It was nice to see some fire for a change. I would rather play at a higher difficulty setting without having to worry about friendly fire sometimes.

 My Top 5 list:

1. Cross-console save game imports!  (I have a decent PC that runs most of the games, unfortunately it does not run games using the Frostbite 2.0, for these games I have a PS3, I own both Dragon Age games on my pc, but I will definitely not buy a new one for DA3....what if you could share the saved games from your pc gameplay to the console, as long as it is registered under the same origin account?  This feature would be definitely a game seller if this happens, and also an edge on why owning origin games:))

2. More characters and consequences from the first two games.

3. More explanations of the universe.

4. Let the gameplay return to it's Origins :D LOL :D Seriously, make it more like the first game, and less the second.

5. More conversation choices.

 #1 NO MULTIPLAYER
Its entirely easy to see that, while ME3's multiplayer was ok, It took up a little too much of their time. I would rather bioware focus all their attention on the  singleplayer. Besides, DA is meant to be a singleplayer only game that relies on tactics and companions to survive, so a multiplayer would just complicate things. Now, I'm not opposed to a multiplayer (preferably coop missions and not the enless horde mode of ME3) but it would have to be made after the initial release so as not to mess up the game's singleplayer. Sorry OP.

#2 Better level design.
I'd rather not see the same middle eastern style town over and over again (though it should be featured). Personally, I want to see more of the world and Bioware has a clear and great opportunity to give it to us. Dungeons should also be unique. There were some reused maps in DA:O, but not many. However, in DA2, almost every dungeon had at least 3 or 4 copies of it where you would spawn in a different location and there would be a different path to a different location. Sounds good on paper, but in practice, it looked bad, was boring, annoying and completely imersion breaking. Don't do it. Take the time to make unique dungeons and environments that we can all explore and enjoy and the quality of DA3 will go up quite a bit.

#3 Tougher enemies, but less of them.
In DA2 it got to a point where the enemies with small health bars were just an annoyance, even on high difficulty. DA:O enemies were perfected, where they were harder to kill and had much more support and abilities to boot, not just the mindless zerg of the seemingly endless bandits or thugs. Special enemies should also be a little tougher as well. This doesn't mean you should remove the slightly faster style of the combat in DA2, It means you should make enemies tougher, not more numerous. It should also be noted that tactics don't play as large of a role when the squad is simply being zerged. All the player has to worry about is DPS, and that is not the tactical combat that was so well implemented in DA:O

#4 Don't market to the mainstream audience.
This was a massive mistake made in ME3. Trying to market a Third-Person Story-Driven game to the masses of Call of Duty and Battlefield Players just doesn't work. So Please Bioware/EA, DO NOT MARKET TO MAINSTREAM AUDIENCES. It messes up the game for the rest of us. More importantly, It doesnt work. The mainstream audience is more concerned with games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Counter-Strike or Team Fortress. They don't really have a huge amount of interest in RPGs. So instead of marketing and tailoring a game to an audience that doesn't have a whole lot of interest in your game to begin with, why not market to the RPG fanbase, aka Your entire original fanbase. ME3 proved that saying "Forget You!" to your original fans and trying to attract a group that is already established in a different genre just does not work and is a bad idea. Do not make this mistake with DA3.

#5 The return of the origin system and silent dialogue.
One of the awesome things in DA:O was the fact that you could create a character with a race and background of your choice, and then play through the game as that character that YOU made, not the character the game makes you play. Now, I did like hawke, and i liked the character, but there were only 3 ways to roleplay him/her: Really nice person, Smartass, or complete douche. It got so tiring and repetetive to play DA2 on following playthroughs because the same events happened, hawkes says the same things, and the story always turns out the same. Not being able to choose hawke's race didn't help either. So I, personally, think that it would be better to return to the original system in DA2, where the hero never said anything (didn't have audio for dialogue) and had more options to choose from than just Good/Smartass/Evil. I also would like to see the origin system return (If the player isn't playing as the warden or hawke) since it added alot more to new characters and immersion. It also added alot to the way certain encounters or conversations would play out, and generally made the game better. Consider it.

So there it is. My 5 things that i think Bioware should do in DA3. I know they will likely not read this and if they do, it will not be the only opinion they consider, but there it is nonetheless. Thanks Bioware! ;)
