1 - Choises that matter and shape the overall perspective of the game :) Also, to have some major choices made in past games affect DA3 and have minor choices be referred to (The latter was done really well in DA2).

2 - A good synthesis of DA:O combat and DA2 combat. (I know the word 'synthesis;' is generally frowned upon on the BSN, but I don't care :P)

3 - The ability to travel across continents (Particularly between Fereldan, Orlais and the FM, with perhaps a cameo from Tivinter)

4 - A mixture of past and new characters for party members.

5 - A relatively suprising final boss/plot twist (DA:O's and DA2's were SO predictable - This was perfectly fine in DA:O as it felt like an epic final fight, but a disappointment in DA2)

ALSO, if a multiplayer NEEDS to be added, don't half ass it PLEASE. Make it like Far Cry 3 perhaps; having a co-op with a (slight) side story as well as a few objective based team game. Just a suggestion... :P

1. No Day one DLC let us enjoy the main game before you shove overpriced garbage down our throats.

2. No Multiplayer, save that money and expand the single player content.

3. Don't reused the dungeons over fifty thousand times,.

4. Dwarves are the main playable races Humans are too video gamey, Unless you know you would give us the ability to play what race we want? There are not enough games that won't let me be a Dwarf... GIVE ME MY SHORT BEARDED BATTLE AXE PATH OF DESTRUCTION!

5. It doesn't really bother me but it breaks the immersion to have every party member bisexual... mix it up a bit hell I would to see characters with a phobia. I like my characters have a variety of emotions I even want the player if he is or she offended by some things to express those things even if they are distasteful.

#2 Better level design.

I'd rather not see the same middle eastern style town over and over again (though it should be featured). Personally, I want to see more of the world and Bioware has a clear and great opportunity to give it to us.

I could not agree with this one more. This is the main reason I'm happy DA:I is likely taking place in Orlais. Mark of the Assassin, to me, had a more enjoyable environment than pretty much any of the main game. I'm just hoping that DA:I will be more like DA:O, where there were a bunch of different towns and such. I mean, DA2 had, what? Kirkwall, the small Dalish camp, and a cave that just happened to, somehow, look like every other cave in the game. In DA:O, there was more variety just between Orzammar and the Brecilian Forest.

TheSovietPenguin wrote...

Dungeons should also be unique. There were some reused maps in DA:O, but not many. However, in DA2, almost every dungeon had at least 3 or 4 copies of it where you would spawn in a different location and there would be a different path to a different location. Sounds good on paper, but in practice, it looked bad, was boring, annoying and completely imersion breaking. Don't do it. Take the time to make unique dungeons and environments that we can all explore and enjoy and the quality of DA3 will go up quite a bit.

Exactly. The fact that pretty much every cave was exactly the same really kept me from wanting to explore and find some cool new loot. After the 2nd time I saw the same cave, I didn't even bother, and I just rushed towards my target so I could get the hell out of there. It also didn't help that exploring for loot really didn't help much anyway, since you were likely to only find a pair of torn trowsers.

I liked DA2, I really did, but the boring environments really killed replayability for me. Especially when you consider the fact that I've played through DA:O about 10 times by now, and only got through DA2 twice.

other then smelling like wet dog that is :D

no, really, what is so interesting about ferelden - i mean there are tons of more interesting places from the tevinter empire to kalsharok (second of the dwarfen cities), antiva, nevarra and - if you love the wardens - the anderfels ;)

hm...something to add to the thread:

1. more witches of the wilds (maybe even some who left that heritage behind and became something else (whether this "else" is being captured and becoming a circle mage or running to tevinter to become a magister, it would make for an interesting story))

greetings LAX

... sorry for answering a weeks later but here it goes .
in DA:O and DA:A  we pritty much shaped the kingdom and well it feals like my kingdom . i personly trided make it as power full as i could(like curing the warewolf so there won't be any warewolf in my country making it armys weaker) . in DA2 i Hawk from ferldon , helping my fellow ferelden any way i kind as it a country that fended off an entire blite on it own! unlike the other blite ware it took all the country of the land . Being from ferelden makes me have some kind of petrltsisom for the country(wich make DA2 a lot more enjoyable) , if at some point i forced to fight it as an orlesian nobleman ... it will kind of break my heart.
also having one theing that conecting all the heros it nice , kind of makes it feal like a famliy

1.) A bit more of a challenge in the dialogues. In Origins, I felt like I could reason out which replies might work out better than others, and fret about whether or not my cunning/strength scores were high enough. I also continued to find new lines of dialogue after several play throughs, which hasn't been the case (yet I hope) with Dragon Age II. Also...magic and strength should intertwined in the intimidation. It was rather irritating to have a bandit laugh off your threats when you knew you could throw a fireball at him.

2.) A reasonable amount of cameos. Sure, I'm curious to see about what happened to all my old NPCs, but to be entirely realistic, the chances of running into that many people in a place as large as Thedas seems...unlikely. I found it odd to see Alistair, Zevran, Leliana, and several other old aquintances in Kirkwall. Perhaps implementing a system like in Mass Effect 2 where the NPCs would send letters would be cool. You get to hear from them again, but it's not like "Oh hey! Fancy seeing you here..."

3.) The return of talking to companions whenever. I liked being able to check in on my companions in Origins, Mass Effect 1 and 2, and sometimes getting a new dialogue, sometimes getting the usual 'check-in and investigate' options. At any time. In Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age II, I found it slightly disheartening to not be able to talk to companions whenever, or to even, God forbid, miss a dialogue because I was to lazy to run around the ship for the rare new conversation.

4.) I know this isn't really anything new, but it'd be cool to see more environments. I'd love to see a swamp in Dragon Age 3, alongside with a snowy mountain, a brutal desert, haunted forest. There's so much potential!

5.) The usual lovable characters. I have yet to dislike a companion. It'd be sort of neat if some of the recruitable companions were hidden, in the sense that you could play the whole game through and not know until after browsing the interwebs that you could indeed have taken them along. Maybe that's just me. But it would certainly add instant replay value if I were to find such an appalling oversight in my own decision making to have missed a character.

That said, I'm very excited! Best of luck!:D

Quick Edit: I know this is like six, but whatever. It'd be neat to see mages as more evil too! In both previous games, I've always felt sorry for them and sided against the Templars. So it'd be really cool to get a look at them as awful people, or at least a look at the Templars as kind decent souls - that is, if they are kind decent souls.

#1 Keep the battle/meny/skill tree system from dragon age 2.= I really enjoy the new battle system of da2,even so not a lots of peoples and other did i really hope that the dragon age 3 battle system is similar, why cause it give you the feeling to be alive while still keep the dragon age style from da:o but way faster, when your allies was low in health you could quickly rush toward him/her to kocnoff the enemy of them and switch to them to heal, the menu option when you needed to either check your stat,weapon/amor/skill tree was awesome in dragon age 2 much easier to navigate around and able to use the skill tree nicely =)

#2 Have new spec for warrior/rogue and mage= i will first mention tthe spec, when bioware introduce talis whit a new spec in the game it was nice i realyl enjoy talis for the short period of time i could use her whit her skill it owuld be a great addition for the rogue, now for the warrior as you battle off the qunari and later (THE ALMIGHTY ARISHOK ) some of the couldf use spear kinda like and it would be nice addtion to,since dragno age is base on medival time it would be fair to see the spear/halbert/trident etc or maybe a double-bladed sword to make enemy or our main characvter a bit awesome XD...ahem when you face the Arishok weild 2 weaon as a warrior a sword and battle axe that could be aslo a new cpec for the warrior whit a devent speed of attack and move (not super fast and not hitting super hard just a good balance) and finaly the Mage the mage was so epic in dragon age 2 and hope that keep it like that for draogn age 3 not much to see but for one spec for it have the mage to have some close-combat skill not to many move just a couple so he can handle is own a bit around around 4 to 5 attack move and 3 to 4 passyve skill:lol:

#3 playable race= i'll know this most have been mention so many time before and recent rumor say we may got it (or not) just putting my 5 top reason =P,even so i love playing my dark dalish elf again (from dragon age origin) i would like to play the Qunari, i am a major fan of the qunari and the culture and also fan of Sten (finaly made a arishok yes| and the arishok from dragon age 2) if they put once again small background story like dragon age origin, dragon age 3 will be one awesome game to play :D

#4 companion/romance= have more compaion this time (permanent companion) around 9 to 10 whit half of them romancable elf, dward (yeah i know i say dwarff ish ^^;) qunari (hopefuly a female one =) to see how thing will turn out since their culture is WAY! diffirent then any other) and human, the same feeling of attachment in dragon age origin (not like dragon age 2 but i did have some attachment whit fenris and merril).

#5 eeeh don't know what else= well the game is still in progress so can't really ask for the dlc =/ maybe to have some dlc for equiment like those in dragon age origin and 2 and have unique armor set like duncan's armor from da:o and have hawke champion armor or morrigan's oufit for the female (for late gaming)

Bottom line is you can take the positive from both dragon age orign and dragon age 2 and put them into dragon age 3 whilt modification of course.

P.S sorry for my bad writing i did my best to type correctly and i hope to see more info about the game and i wish the bioware team and those who work on dragon age 3,good luck!

 1. Returning Character's, I loved Fenris and Zevran. Alistair cannot return though---He belongs to my female warden.
 2. I liked the combat in BOTH games. However I prefer epic finishs in the first one on  Ogars and Dragons..and other things. The other thing is if you could mix combat in the second and first, i like how rouges were all flippy and awesome. But then if they chose archery they pulled out a knife and went all ape Sh*t.  The other thing i liked was if you got to close to the mage, they beat you with their staff.
 3. Party banter! I love Fenris and Merill and Alistair and Morrigan. More banter like that pretty please.
4.Hm...I like how Companion Armor was already set in the second one and all you had to do was upgrade it. It made things so much easier and money less scarce. As long as I can still customize my girl, I'll be happy.
 5. The child of Morrigan be the Protagonist: You set that up perfectly for a sequel in the first one....O_O but then DA:2 comes out and BAM we see Hawke..Not that I didn't mind Hawke's story...But you know what I mean.

 Dear Sweet Bioware!

- Customization: Honey, I know and I understand but We love customization. We need this. We want to be who we are in your game, what we feel. Hair, eyes, skin, tattoo, scars,  clothes, armors, weapons, itens, jewels. Oh so precious for everyone. Please I want to be in your game. Let me in :)

- Warriors: Oh! Oh! I am a Spirit Warrior wiht my sword and shield. I am a protector. I want powers to fight against evil and I have faith in this. I have a special unique set for me. Armor, shield and sword. Yes, I have a pale blue hair with yellow eyes. My spirit is so powerful and my mystical touch will open doors to all adventures.

- Rogues: Dear, my sweet dear! I am a magical archer. OH I can do rain of arrows from the sky. I have fire,  ice, lightning, poison arrows. My hair is orange and red eyes. But if there is no bow in my pocket. I will be a bard. Hear me, hear me all night. I use my magical harp in battles and I control the air and the sound. My hair is purple and blue eyes. Please, feel my inspiration, hear my songs :D

- Mages: Nature, nature, it are all for us. I am a keeper with pale green hair and light gray eyes. I can control plants and animals and mystical arcane spells too. I can heal you. I have a halla, it is my companion, my friend, it help me in battles. I live in the forest. My weapon is a powerful orb and I have the butterfly sword too, now with elemental damage of all kind. C'mon, see me in my lake, I will be waiting for you.

- Story: Bioware, it's all up to you. Be brave and I will help you all the time. Make me alive in your world and feel my powers to conquer your heart.

I have some suggestions but I would rather suggest a new feature before The actual gameplay and storyline suggestions.

What if, it would be possible to import a player's face into the game? I mean if you could add an add-on software that scan a picture of you and makes a head out of it, it would be super cool and actually very personal to the player to BE in the game.

Now, for my other suggestions:
1. Recurring characters - I would love to see characters that we know make a comeback(Alistair, leliana, Isabela, Varric).
2. some familiar companions - at least some of the companions should be someone that we know(whether personally as Hawke or the Warden or not but still.
3. Lively area - What you've done with the Citadel on ME3 was amazing and I would very much like to see that happen in whatever area the next game is set in.
4. choices that matter - I would very much like to see that my actions affect the world around me.
For example - I was quite disappointed to meet another banshee in the single player campaign AFTER I saved the monastery and without any explanation that some survived because As I understood it Banshees were indoctrinated Ardat-Yakshis.
5. more customization to weapons and armor.

Thanks for hearing us out and I hope to encounter and Awesome story in DA3! :)

1. Intrigue and stealth options: When I watched the trailer I had no clue what the heck was going on. That makes me want to play. If the game could include various means of completion (objective: Kill target. Option 1. Murder everything. Option 2. Infiltrate, gain his trust, murder. etc.) I think the ability to actually play a stealthier, more clever character should be added.

2. No Origins Fade "BS": This is the one part of Origins that I did not care for. Too much running around, only to arrive at an obstacle requiring you to find something else. Being blocked like this is frustrating and is a problem in many games. Give us multiple paths, not a winding one.

3. Badass mage gear: I hated playing mage in both games because my character always looked way too... well... you know. The champion gear in DA2 was a step up but you only got it at the end.

4. Import: This needs to be a feature, obviously. If my actions in DA2 were pointless, I'm never playing it again.

5. A good Co-op (optional): This could be a side story and tearing it up with your friends would be great. A lot of RPGs lack this and those that do are typically MMORPGs. Where's the middle ground?

1. A Return to open world.
2. A good story
3. No boring filler
4. Better combat mechanics, less repetitive fighting.
5. In depth character interactions.

joke option: An MMO.

1) Return of my Warden.
2) Lots of Customisation and Choice of Armour/weapon look.
3) Duel Wiedling Swords.
4) Real Choices and Real Consequences
5) An Epic Story that doesn't end with 4 choices all which are bad.

I loved Dragon Age 1 and 2. My top five things would be
1- More intraction with the companions
2-More world to explore
3-Some easter eggs maybe with the companions, something we would have to hunt to find out to happen.
4-More intraction, Some npc's like Collin in Dragon age 2 if they're could be something there or other npc's.
Like in the first one with Isabella I wasn't expecting that. That adds spice, I like spice. I malso like the seen with Collin with the new recrute that was different a good and unexpected.
5-A longer game, I play Dragon Age 2 still for a quick game because I loved the characters but wow you could have done more. No I'm not  cursing you out I love the games and I do not play that many computer  games but what I do play is fantasy and mostly Dragon Age. LOVE the games.

DA Origins! If you can mirror that game, game play (quicker place of battle of course), choice of characters and they're beginnings, romancing options...you get the idea. Whatever the final verdict is...please give it a broader, more indepth story than what DA2 gave us.

I would like to see the Codex revised. As it is now we have to read it twice, which is annoying and time consuming. When a Codex comes up in the game world and you click on it, you then get another Codex to click on, which is too redundant. Couldn't it be done in such a way that if you wanted to read them there would be one Codex in your journal for each category and you could read it or not. If you clicked on it to read it that would be enough.

the #1 thing i want is an interactive comic or check list like mass effect 2 on the ps3 when it comes to importing saves. I lost my 200+ hours of saves for all the games and DLCs due to the ps3's yellow light of death. I doubt ill ever have the time to replay the 2 games, expansion, and DLCs that many times again. If i can just pick out what i did (and who i did lol) it will make DA3 MUCH more enjoyable for me.

1.Good story
2. Fun diffrent choise for main character choises like DA 1, Elfe, Dwarfe, Human and howabout a Qunnari with each on with a background story like DA 1 (eg Dwarfe commener, CIty Elf)
3. Bring back other characters, like Veric, Isabela, the Champion and the Warden, and Morgan and her son, or daugher, (if that option was taken at the end of DA 1
4. Give an option to imort your story like DA2.
5. More add ons, an expasion pack and better DLCs then DA 2 had, which was mostly just stuff packs that I never used.Image IPB

And please don't make it into somthing like World of Warcraft.

Well, I'm pretty much a casual gamer, but I guess I can have 5 things I want as well as anyone else. =D

1) I want to be able to adjust the height and weight (and yes boobs included) of my character. Yes, it's always fun to have the world saved by buxom, tall, beautiful ladies, but really. I think a short girl with normal breasts can save the world just as well as a tall person. /nods Plus I'd like the option to have a normal girl that has seen a sandwich a couple of times in her life. (Poor Merrill, I so badly wanted to feed her a PB&J sammy all the time). This is probably the nearest and dearest in my wishlist.

2) A great story with great characters. It's cool if my party members don't like each other or always get along. I loved Alistair/Morrigan banter in Origins. Priceless. However it's not cool when all the banter just sorta ends a in a socially awkward silence. I dunno really how to explain it, but the characters from DA2 didn't mess together well. They just all seemed so extreme and didn't have a unifying cause really. It was hard to imagine any of them working together. I wish I could explain this better.

Plus if you wanted re-use previous characters from previous games, for example Nathaniel Howe (innocent smile), please don't completely revamp his character completely like you did with Anders.

3) Listen to Fox News...>.> Seriously video-game sex...it's just not something I want. (Okay I KNOW I am in the minority on this one, but I can still wish). There are other ways to make the game feel more adult then by adding gratuitous beaver shots...much like the designated hitter rule, they undermine the purity of the game. =D

Hespith's story really added a dark/mature feel to Origins and would warrant the M rating. I got the concept readily enough in DA2 during the "sex-ish" scenes...I didn't need anyone to spell it out for me in big bold letters. In fact, I think it is more romantic without the big bold letters. But I've always been a fan of Cary Grant and Catherine Hepburn movies. Plus...I've never lived it down when I let some of my friends mess around in my DA: Origins saves while I finished making dinner. D= No desert for anyone that night...bunch of jerks.

4) I would like a nice ending to my Warden's and Hawke's story. I mean...my poor Warden, she just got to be Queen (and we all know who is really running ole Ferelden ^_~ ) and she disappeared? I mean Alistair mentioned her (-_- ball and chain, no deserts for him either), but apparently she just vanished? D= Queens just don't disappear...they just don't. And poor Hawke...she really got the short end of the endings deal. So proper endings (hopefully nice =D) for all Wardens/Hawkes. Unless you killed your Warden at the end, but then why was Lelianna looking for her/him? I dunno.

5) I miss talking to my party members like I did in Origins, but them all having special places like in Awakening was cool. And having special quests was cool too. I wants the best of all worlds for DA3. =D

And that is the top five things I'd love to see...I have more, but I'll follow the rules. Thank you for your time and hope I didn't offend anyone.

1.  The ability to respec becoming a standard feature Mid-Level in the game (ps, good for you
getting me to pay for it).

2.  Upgradeable types of weapons/armor, more diverse types of runes, and
spec-specific armor types (like a dullest armor set or a two handed warrior armor
set).

3. Playable or companion Quinary (the race not religion).  Maybe even a Tal-Vashoth… don’t care, just
get me one of those beasts.

4.  Spec-Specific quests like, hey my character is an assassin, give me a quest to go kill someone
and put some moral dilemma in it; or, hey I’m a blood mage, go make me do some
blood mage-ish thing; or, hey I’m a Berserker, how about a drinking contest at
the Hanged Man.  Maybe even some plot
twists or options depending on spec.

5.  The same high quality I’ve come to expect after playing the all the Dragon Age games.

1. I want to have a steal system like in dragon age (seriously was i the only one who enjoyed stealing from everyone including party members?)

2. More character customizable options. Add in a feature for those with the cameras on there system to have there own face put on the character. Just a personal touch and could save you hours of fine tuning details.

3. It's my world let me have some fun with it. Give me the option to see my small choices up till now. Maybe meet up with the warden and mardy's son, or have the one woman from dust towns son be fighting in the army. Add in little touches from the first and second game that maybe arent that important but allow me to just smile and be greatful i can see the fruits of my labors.

4.Have a very evolved combat system. Train your attacks and spells. there is supposed to be a castle in the game, why not make a training yard where you can more precisely hone in attacks and spells. Make them more accurate, maybe make them cost less with skill points or something, even figure out ways to personalize the spells and attacks just like you would in real life.

5. Give me choices of aligences, maybe one play thru i want to a Qunari while another play through i want to have a Grey Warden. Be nice to be scouted by the Antivian crows too, Join the Templar order, or something along those lines. It's my character i want to see just what all i can do with it.

6. (yes i know it says five but i have one more to add.) Give me weapons and armor forging quests again. I liked making starfang and vigilance. Let me find them in this game and maybe forge a new weapon to make it a set of three. It be nice to see whats happened with those weapons (vigilance was even mentioned in the epilog of awakening so it was kinda important). It was fun gaining those materials to be able to make my own custom weapon.
