75% friends/me per lobby
25% pugs per lobby.
This proportion includes the times I have only friends in lobby and only pugs in lobby.
Friends are more reliable. They're people you have seen in action and know their skill level. I have people with comfort zones in silver, gold, and platinum, so I can always find someone for whatever I feel like doing.
Do you prefer random groups or regulars?

I usually play with friends - I have a couple of really great friends that I play MP with, that don't mind so much that I am not so awesome. (Well, at least I don't think they mind... guys? Guys?! Wait! Come back!!....)
If my friends are not online I will usually attempt solo. Or the occasional PUG - particularly if I am trying to level characters up.

Randoms all the time. Keeps me on my feet usually. Mainly because hardly any of my friends play ME3 MP.

Randoms on U/U/G keeps it interesting. It's still fun but we need more maps/dlc for this mp to keep me hooked.

I prefer to play with people from my friends list than randoms. I've met some good people from BSN, and some random players I've played with who sent me a friend invite after the game. Randoms can be a little stressful on Gold or higher.
Recently, however, I've been running into some good randoms that use consumables/equipment, and play well. It actually has been pretty nice these last couple of nights.

While I think friends would be a better game in the long run, I have never developed any friends within this game to form a "regular" team. I normally wind up in pug matches where noone ever says anything, and it is a race to see who can get the most kills instead of actually supporting each other. As such, I tend to stick to bronze level matches to support my single player habit.

Mostly play with friends but if none of them are online or already matched in 4's, I have no problem playing with randoms.
That said, I play Gold/Platinum with friends but will not play above Silver with randoms.

I prefer the randomness of drop in lobbies. It makes the game more interesting to be teamed up with people who aren't that great and don't always work together too well. I like to think I'm helping them learn the game; I get to revive people more often and feel like a hero; I get to be a pub-star!
I just wish more people would use a mic. I usually add people with mics to my friends list, which is getting extensive. However, despite that, I still play about 90% of my games in randoms.

The vast majority of my gameplay is with PUGs; adds to the variety. However, that being its greatest strength, it's also its greatest weakness. Some squads can make for downright maddening experiences.

I play most of the time with friends and spouse. I sometimes sneak off to do a random gold or even more rarely a random platinum. It is after all from random a circle of friends can grow.
It can be quite an administrative task to get everyone in our circle happily situated in a game. We usually hang out on a teamspeak server to plan ahead on waves and game-plans. Using teamspeak also makes the chat more troublefree and it gives some time to check out a random without completely introducing the poor soul to our chat

Randoms for me. I have seriously, 3 people on my friends list. Also share a TV so I can't be on consistently.
I'd likely play with regulars a lot more if I had a mic, but PS3 mics? I'm a little broke.

i normally have enough freinds on line to cover 2 full lobbys normally in a party if i play at night, if i play during the day then its pugs all the way till 3 freinds get online.
but as most of my freinds are now playing tekken tag and this week will be borderlands 2 then looks like ill be stuck with pugs full time.

Mostly with regulars but wildcards can occasionally be fun.

I like playing random because it allows me to drop in and out of playing without feeling like i'm keeping somebody waiting. After a hard gold match sometimes i want at least a ten minute break before i jump into another one

I play with randoms if no one is on, but I play with friends probably 60-80% of the time. Playing with randoms is little bit more bearable now since they don't seem as bad as they used to.

We have two players in our household, so maybe half of lobbies are two of us + 2 randoms. And when we play single, it's with randoms. It's easier and quicker than gathering up friends. Sometimes randoms are bad, sometimes ok, but sometimes also great. You never know before, so games differ a lot, and my interest to the game stays.

I definitely prefer to play with my friends, random gamers usually are not that good, and by that I mean they lack sinergy, not necessarily playing skills.

I prefer randoms, mostly because they don't know who I am, so it gives me the options to either top the score board, and make them rage quit, or act like I don't what a gun is and get 5k that game. I'mma troll.
