Good for them, but if the game doesn't allow me to carry on from my dwarf from DA:O I have no intentions of buying. They burned me with DA2 and ME3. Bioware has burnt my pre-order as soon as I can. I am in wait and see crowd
added.. allow me to buy from Steam. I refuse to install Origin

New game engine. Allows them to be more expansive. Interesting.

How many times does it take, to get into your thick skull, that Dragon Age is about Thedas, not about the warden...

Coulda just said that you believe that Dragon Age is about Thedas and not the Warden (which I agree). No need to get nasty. Who's to say that the player can't choose between their Warden, Hawke or a new character altogether? (I doubt that is the case, but still -- until we see it, it'll be everything we love and hate and everything in between and outside.)leeboi2 wrote...

You can't experience different areas of Thedas with the Warden? How many times are we going to play the rags to riches story and act like we don't know who the returning characters are?
It'll be interesting to see how they are going respect the player's choice of allowing their Warden to live and the story with Morrigan. A lot of people are deciding to buy the game or not hinged on the Warden's return and getting back to the Origins' story and characters.

Fall of 2013. Probably Oct like Origins was. Probably the only thing they've adapted from Origins.

1) A Great Story? I hope so. But it sounds like its going to be more Mage/Templar conflict which was the part that dragged in DA2.
2) Choices that mattered? I chose to live on as the Warden, have the OGB and to continue interacting with the world of Thedas. How is that going to matter? Or do you mean...starting now with this game?
3) A Massive World? As oppose to a heavily restricted world of Kirkwall and its coastline? I don't think anyone asked for a massive Skyrim world, just on the level of what Origins gave you. I'm not saying this is bad just that the fans weren't asking for this.
4) Deep customization? Does iconic customization mean "deep"?
5) Combat that is both tactical and visceral? The PC fans will be happy to have that back. Doesn't visceral mean automatic or instinctive? I'm not sure what visceral combat is suppose to be and how it can be used in the same sentence with tactical which requires thinking. Or do they mean tactical OR visceral combat?

How many times do you have to hear the devs say that they plan to have a new protagonist each game? Literally, this point has never been up for debate. I don't really get why you think DA:O was a rags to riches story, at any rate, or why you think DA3 will be one.Jerrybnsn wrote...

Personally I like building up a new character.

Will DA3 be an epic fail, or an epic win?
Will us as players and costumers ever be happy with Bioware again?

Considering that the Dragon Age series was a game about importing your decisions and has an open ability of importing your characters; I'd say that option is always up for debate.
And I enjoy building up a new character too, it just gets old when your in the same world in the same time period and (hopefully) dealing with the same plotline.
I just think Bioware is making a mistake by not taking advantage of importing main characters.

You can forget about DA3 looking like this.
Not only because this a PC image and the will likely be console first, but because BF3 is flooded with scripts, which are easier to handle than active worlds.
That is, unless, they release DA3 on the next gen consoles.

BF3 doesn't look like this on console but only on PC? And I'm afraid I don't know what "scripts" are.
If they are going to release DA3 on the nextgen console than the date for fall of 2013 can't be right because the Xbox 720 won't be out until Christmas of 2013 and the PS4 is going to wait until some time in 2015.

I get that, but I understand that logistically it makes it a bit easier for them when the character is a fresh slate. The possibilities multiply with each new game as to how that same main character has acted. Mass effect would have had that issue if they continued for more than three games. The permutations for personal relationships with returning characters would become nightmarish. Keeping a new protagonist for new games just makes it more feasible to make lots of games in the series rather than just three.Jerrybnsn wrote...

I'm not sure the same plot line will continue though, I think they will maintain a common thread of some sort, like Flemeth.
