Most are likely Cameo Doom i'd suspect, as much as DA2 screwed up everything it did a rather great job with the companions, outside varik & Isabella there isn't much left to explore with the others and frankly i'd rather leave poor anders dead then have his character ruined further

Everyone who is alive from DA:O, if anyone interesting from awakening, and the only reasonable companion of DA II Varric.

Also Cullen as a squadmate.

I'm sure a couple of old companions will make a showing, just not as companions. At least I hope that's the case.

I hope they resist having pointless cameos. I don't think they add much, particularly when you've got a new PC.

Isabela, Aveline, Varric and Sebastian are all guaranteed to be alive, as is Morrigan from Origins. And of course Leliana has been retconned to alive even if she died. So those are the most likely to have major roles, I'd guess.

Why do you guys keep saying Anders is dead perhaps your ending you killed him...Mine anders is alive and kicking so..I protected him and told Nancy boy prince to go shove it and he alive even thou they totally ruined him...guess a spirit in you magically turns you gay..Because from all my convos in Awakening I didn't gather that at all..maybe I should of killed him he became really annoying in DA2...

But lets hope for some good companions and maybe some old ones...

I think that if you killed Anders in DA2 Justice will keep him alive in a similar wayy to Wynne's spirit

The three I believe more likely to return are Isabela,morrigan and leliana since bioware took extra steps with each to make sure they couldn't die.Leliana moreso since there was talk of seeing alot more of her in the cancelled Da2 Dlc.I just hope if they're love interest that they're locked out if they've been in previous romances.

new adventure, new companions , getting to know them is part of the fun
cullen seem to be one of them and that is cool we barely scratch his personnality but he still has history isabella was a nice add in da2 as a character but also because she was in the previous one, so does merryl
cameo would be great thought: varric telling stories in a tavern, isabella as a boat captain.....
some could be guest party members during quest , merryl, morrigan and flemeth could be tied to the god child whereabouts.........
hawke should be involved somehow, a companion would be nice

I don't remember her appearing in DA2. I remember her name was mentioned but she was never actually in the game. I may be wrong though.

That would be nice since they were MIA for most of DA2. Plus my character (as long as it isn't Hawke) could bang Bethany without it feeling weird.

Since all the love interests from Origins had cameos/sidequests involving them in DA2, I would imagine the same will happen in DA3. Hopefully also from Varric and Carver/Bethany as well.

I think Cullen might play a major role in DAIII. He went from a Circle of Magi Templar in DA:O to Knight-Captain in DAII. And with Knight-Commander Meredith gone he could easily take over her position...or have a crisis of faith and re-examine where his loyalties lie due to the actions that will take place in "Inquisition".


Guess we'll find out soon enough...

I think this is more than likely for Bethany as from what I remember there was a fan out cry that they wanted to romance her but couldn't since she was your sisiter. I will bet a lot of money this will happen

I wouldn't mind having Varric as a party member again. I wasn't one of those on his bandwagon before DA2 came out, but pretty quickly in my first playthrough he became one of my favorites.

Isabela would be awesome, but I'd feel bad for my Hawke who romanced her. They are supposed to sail away together, not have Hawke disappear into a shadowy void and Isabela *maybe* mentions their relationship in passing, once. Same goes for Leliana, although I'm pretty sure she'll be making at least a cameo appearance.

My educated guess is that Cullen and Cassandra will be in our party this time around, and they seem interesting to me. I just hope that they aren't significantly changed from the characters we already know, especially in Cullen's case. Or, if they do need to undergo a personality shift, please show it on screen, and not tell us about it in passing.

Every time i remembering Anders i clearly realize - i don't wan to see anyone from previous games in DA3. Even Morrigan. I'd like to remember as she was in DAO.

I think returning companions are problematic. Firstly, they should avoid raising the dead again. I can tolerate what they did with Leliana and Anders, but other possibly dead characters shouldn't become companions.
Secondly, i think most old companions ar etied to closely to the respective hero they followed, especially the LI's. I don't want Morrigan following some new guy.
So, who remains? Only Leliana, Morrigan, Varric, Isabela, Sebastian, Aveline and Tallis are definitely alive. The only one out of these who i can see following a new hero is Tallis. Not to closely connected to Hawke, not too many different fates so far, some room for character development.
