Anders / Justice and Hawke cameos please !

I'll hope they do return. And when you talk to them about their past they would tell somethings about The Warden or Hawke.

I hope Leliana, Sten and Varric will returns.

Wonder if Varric will return. Given he's not a current LI and popular seems like a reasonable link to Da2, especially if Cassandra is present too.
Really hope if Hawke returns it is via a controlled cameo(aka Joker in ME2 or Witcher2 lines) alongside companions & LI from DA2.

No more Hawke please if Izzy did him then let her mention that he cheated her by pulling that vanishing act.

If they do? Great, cool, I love them! But if they don't? Great, cool, I can't wait to meet the new characters that Bioware creates!

Anders has to come back.
If you let him live at the end of DAII than obviously he's out there somewhere. Besides you still have Sebastian looking for Anders (if you got that DLC).
If you killed him than there is the possibility that while Anders is dead Justice/Vengeance is still there and could possess the body.

Other than that I wouldnt mind seeing Sten again. Curious to see his reaction to the events of DAII. I still want to see more on the Architect but I understand if that is a no go because they did give the player the ability to kill him. Zevran would be good because if we are going to somewhere like Antiva (I hope) than it only makes sense that we'd get someone who knows their way around. I just want to know why or who is behind Hawke and the Warden disappearing. Even if we don't see them again because their stories are done.

Well that is your import and yes Anders should be dead, you should get sebastian in your party instead (as I explained before that they should be linked like Ashely/Kaiden).

Oghren, Sten, Shale, Varic, Merril, and Felicia Day's character (whose name escapes me)

I really want to see a lot of cameos in DA3 because I do care about all my former companions
But if to talk about characters I want to see most:
- Both my characters from DA:O and DA2 would be just perfect cameos! I know it's almost impossible but still I can dream a little
- Morrigan, Alistair, Oghren, Zevran, Isabela, Varric, Bethany/Carver, Fenris - if to talk about companions and Cullen, Cassandra, Flemeth(!!!),  Boddan and Sandal (enchantment! )  - non-companion characters
But I'll be happy to see any other characters from the past, it's always cool to see what happens to them

Awakening characters may be a good bet, as only one of them turns out to be romancable (?) (Anders: we know how THAT ends) Personally would like Sigrun, Varric and Shale on my wishlist.

Fortunately, the ones I'd like to see return are the ones that absolutely cannot be killed in DA2 so it's most likely Bioware wants to do something with them in the future.

Those being Aveline, Varric (though why you can't kill him in DA2 is pretty obvious!), and Isabela.

Aveline, Varric and Isabella survived DAII so there's nothing preventing them returning as companions or as important NPC's. Tallis seemed to be being set up as a possible future companion seeing as she survives 'Mark of the Assassin'.

The others will probably get brief cameos like Zevran and Alistar did. Depending on survival of course though that didn't stop Lelianna coming back

Cullen will be in DAIII, I'm pretty certain of that. Just a matter of him being a companion or a major NPC I think. Morrigan's also in the same boat as Cullen though she could be anything from a party member to an antagonist. Seekers Cassandra and Lelianna will likely play a big role too.

There are some companions that I'd love to return to the game (looks at sig), but if DA3 has the same caliber of companions in DA:O, I'll be happy. For instance, in Mass Effect 2, I kinda wished Wrex would be back on the team but it was more than made up for with the new characters.

Isabela, Aveline, Varric and Sebastian are all guaranteed to be alive, as is Morrigan from Origins. And of course Leliana has been retconned to alive even if she died. So those are the most likely to have major roles, I'd guess.

Goodness, I hope they do not even make cameo appearances! One can assume that Thedas is a large, well-populated continent teeming with interesting people- do we really need to keep re-visting the realm using the same alter-egos whose contexual relevance wanes with each subsequent appearance?

For example, what the frack were Zevran, Alistair(sp), Leiliana(sp), Sten, Anders, and Isabella all doing in the Free Marches??? In truth, I am most irked by the blatant disregard for my past choices for some of the abovementioned characters.

I am just not sure why we need zombies in a world as interesting Thedas?

Well, i dont remember Sten being there. Alistair has cause to be there as Warden or King, Leiliana has become pretty importent and i expect to see her in 3. Isabella goes everywhere - if you were playing the Warden this would seem weirder...liek Mass effect 2 did. But over 10 years as a new character.

Pointless cameos are bad, but important characters....why not.

Zevran was hiding from the Crows. Alistair was either there to see Hawke (if King), there with other Grey Wardens (if still in the Wardens), or exiled from Ferelden (if a drunk). Leliana was there because she is the Right Hand of the Divine and the Divine wanted her to investigate the Mage uprising. Sten wasn't in the Free Marches. Anders was hiding from the Wardens. Isabela was there for the reasons that are pretty heavily explained throughout Act 2.

My Prediction
Some previous minor characters will become party members: Cassandra, Cullen and Stroud.
Some previous companion characters will become non-companion NPC's: Morrigan, Leliana, Alistair, Loghain. 

I think Leliana will be affiliated with the Inquisition, that Morrigan will appear possibly as an advisor to Celene and probably as a rival to Flemeth, that Alistair (or Anora or both) will appear as monarch of Ferelden and that Loghain will be present in Orlais since DAO suggested as much if he's still alive.  It's also possible that Aveline will be in Orlais, given Mark of the Assassin details on her past.  Varric could be in DA3 or could be saved for later.

I think Sten, Zevran, Isabela, Shale will return in future Dragon Age games but again not as party members.

My Hope

I love this prediction and would like to see it come true!  Just add a Zevran cameo in there and I'm good!
