Let's be honest - EA's and Bioware's image has been going worse quite lately. For EA - "Worst Company In America" award, for Bioware - ME3, DA2 and SW: TOR. Many fans do not perceive BW as they used to.
Do you belive that Dragon Age 3 is BW last chance to show they're still kicking? To regain fan's trust? That after (relatively) 3 big fails they can raise again?
Discuss, or rather *speculate*.
Bioware's last chance?

I hope its good. I picked up KOTOR/KOTOR II for PC today... and I was reminded what made me fall in love with Bioware games.
I want the same feeling I'm having rediscovering KOTOR playing DA3

I wonder if Bioware will become the new Sonic.

I have hope that DA3 will put BW back on the right track.

They still have the MassEffect franchise but yeah it's for all the marbles. If this is bad maybe well get something in 5 years by Obsidian. At least that's how I see it.

People said that before ME3 came out. Face it, even if DA3 sucks eggs you'll still come crawling back next time Bioware announce a vaguely interesting game.

Yes. Agree. I'm still silently rooting for them, but I have no qualms about admitting that their reputation has been tarnished lately. They haven't won me back just yet.

All their games have made a profit (other than that StarWars MMO), as far as I know anyways. So no, I doubt it. It might be their last chance to keep me as a customer, but that's insignificant to them I'm sure.

Mass Effect 3 made over 200million for EA. The DA series has sold 8+ million, and both, despite their controversies, have garnered hundreds of awards and high metacritic and both franchises still have massive fanbases.
Bioware ain't going anywhere, for a long time. DA3 will probably do fine, both in regaining fans trust and bringing in new fans. Of course, we'll see the wave of usual scorn, trolling, etc from The Internet, and folks proclaiming that DA3 is irrelevant and Bioware is already dead blahblah.
I am positive they have learned their lession from DA2, and they will listen to the fans and fix what was broken or missing like they did with ME3.

No, not at all.
It's my understanding that EA is in some financial trouble and as a subsidiary Bioware may be affected by that. But if EA cranks out a profitable year this year then those problems would recede. As far as Bioware itself, if they hit the next ball out of the park then all will be forgiven. If they score a base hit then much of the expressed fanguish will go away.
A gaming company is only as good as its next game in the eyes of the public.

Perhaps. I'm sure that I won't buy any more bw games on day1. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Yes.
I've stopped purchasing EA games since SSX was released (pre-ordered Mass Effect way before) and i knew Dragon Age 3 will be confirmed so this is it for me.
I've given up on them honestly, they need to get it in their heads that multiplayer does not simply = awesome game.
Are developers so insecure about their games that they have to add multiplayer?

Last I heard they were focusing on an MMO, and had no plans for another single player game anytime soon. From who I heard that I don't know, however.

I know I will not be preordering this and will wait a couple weeks after it comes out for player reviews before I think about getting it. But if we can't make our own character and have some person forced on us again it will for sure be a no buy for me.

Well, I have a feeling that they're taking it slow with Dragon Age 3. I doubt they can afford 4th backslash.

No it is not their last chance. I find that idiology silly in the first place sort of like cutting off your own nose to spite your face. I prefer to judge each game on whether I enjoy them or not, whether I am interested in it or not as each one comes out. I will never rule out a developer. While might make something I do not enjoy one, sometimes they might also make ones I do.

I would not go as far as calling DAIII BioWares last chance. But their reputation did take a nosedive. So I agree, that BW needs a big hit with DAIII in order to get some of that back.
I mean, buying BioWare games used to be an absolut nobrainer for me. They always delivered But DAII was the first major letdown from BW for me. As for SW:ToR. It was a very ambitious project, and they were very "loudmouthed" about it, but in the end it just turned out to be another "regular" MMORPG without the special spark. And while i think Mass Effect 3 is an awesome game, there are some signs in there, that point in the worng direction (and I don't mean the ending !!).
Combine that with the disturbing news about C&C: Generals 2 (MP only, Free2Play wtf !!) and you have it.
Yes I know, that the games sold very good and made a sh*tload of money, but in the long run this still hurts the Company. I mean, as a prime example, the Wii sold terrific, but it also destroyed Nintendos reputation, and they did loose money for the first time in ages.
Overall, BioWare is just not what it used to be, I now actually am more cautious about BW games. They need to show with DAIII, that they still have "it", that they still can prodcue the kind of games, that were the foundation of their fame (KotOR, Baldurs Gate, DA:O...).
